The November 4th, 2019 episode of WWE RAW aired live from the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY. In addition to the takeaways below, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler confronted RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch during a backstage interview. Baszler, Bayley, and Lynch will battle at Survivor Series.
Here are 5 takeaways from this week’s show:
Rey Mysterio Will Face Brock Lesnar For The WWE Championship At Survivor Series
WWE Champion Brock Lesnar marched down the ring with Paul Heyman to start this week’s show. Heyman referred to Brock as the “Velasquez vanquisher” and said that Lesnar’s contract is assigned to RAW. Paul added that Lesnar is different from all other WWE superstar because he is entitled to do whatever the hell he wants to do.
Heyman claimed that Brock Lesnar is better than everyone in the crowd and all of those b*tches in the back. Paul mocked Rey Mysterio and said that he wasn’t man enough to protect his son from Brock. Heyman claimed that tonight will be the funeral of Rey’s career at the hands of Brock Lesnar.
Later on the show, Heyman and Lesnar approached the announce table. Heyman demanded that Lawler tell him where Rey Mysterio was. Dio Maddin got in between Lesnar and Lawler and Brock hit him with an F5 through the table. Rey Mysterio then attacked Lesnar with a pipe and beat him down.
Rey Mysterio cut a backstage promo and challenged Lesnar to a WWE Championship match at Survivor Series.
Triple H Tried To Recruit Seth Rollins To NXT
Seth Rollins came down to the ring to address his future. Rollins lost the Universal Championship to The Fiend Bray Wyatt at WWE Crown Jewel last week.
Rollins said that it has been a rough week and a rough couple of months. Seth added that he is not stupid and knows that plenty of the fans are thrilled that he lost the title to Wyatt.
The audience loudly applauded and Rollins claimed that he didn’t give a damn. Rollins stated that he feels like everything he has worked for is gone now that Brock Lesnar is back on RAW. He said that he is not sure if he has the energy to do it again. Rollins added that he has no idea what is next for him in NXT.
Triple H came down to the ring and shook Rollins’ hand. Triple H brought up Seth becoming the first-ever NXT Champion and that he put that brand on the map. HHH boasted about NXT attacking the SmackDown roster and how NXT Champion Adam Cole defeated Daniel Bryan in the main event.
Triple H stated that he knows how to make Rollins great and that Seth is either with him or against him in this moment. Undisputed Era hopped up on the apron as the crowd chanted “NXT!”.
The OC joined the party and Undisputed Era retreated. Dominik Dijakovic, Damian Priest and several other NXT superstars then attacked The OC from behind and beat them down. Several RAW superstars rushed the ring and the NXT superstars retreated through the crowd as Seth stood alone in the ring. R
Rollins then spoke to Triple H backstage and told him that he is not coming back to NXT unless he is the top guy. Rollins stated that Daniel Bryan couldn’t get the job done, but he is better than him and said that he wanted to face Adam Cole for the NXT Championship tonight.
The Rusev, Lana & Lashley Storyline Got Even More Ridiculous
Rusev cut a promo and said that tonight was the night to end all of the drama. He added that he is not here to call his soon to be ex-wife names, he is here for “Bob Lashley”. Rusev stated that Lashley can have Lana but “your ass is all mine”.
Bobby Lashley and Lana came down to the entrance ramp and Bob had crutches. Lashley claimed that he tore his groin doing things with Lana that Rusev could only fantasize about. Lana then announced that they found someone who is looking for a fight and will kick Rusev’s ass.
Drew McIntyre then battled Rusev as Lashley and Lana looked on from the entrance ramp. Rusev dominated the match early and stomped on McIntyre in the corner. McIntyre battled back and took control as RAW went to a commercial break.
When RAW returned, McIntyre was still in control and shouted that Rusev was nothing but a bitch. Rusev got pissed off and leveled Drew with a couple of Clotheslines. Rusev and McIntyre both went for a Crossbody at the same time and crashed to the canvas.
Rusev booted McIntyre out of the ring and started bouncing his head off the steel steps. Bobby Lashley attacked Rusev from behind and the match ended in a DQ. Rusev battled back but Randy Orton came out of nowhere and hit an RKO. Ricochet then came down to the ring for the save to conclude the segment.
I don’t even understand this storyline anymore. Lana accused Rusev of being a sex addict and that is why she left him. Now, Bobby Lashley is tearing his groin because of all the sex he is having with Lana. Drew McIntyre, I guess because he was on Team Flair with Lashley, decided to fight Rusev for Bobby’s right to have sex with Lana. Randy Orton, also on Team Flair, agreed that Lashley should be having sex with Lana and decided to attack Rusev as well. Ricochet, whom was on Team Hogan with Rusev, disagreed with Lashley having sex with Lana and rushed the ring. Brilliant.
The OC Stole A Win
The OC squared off against Street Profits and Humberto Carrillo tonight on RAW. Before the match, United States Champion AJ Styles stated that Gallows and Anderson are the best team in the world and pointed at the trophy they won at Crown Jewel. Styles stated that they don’t give a damn about NXT. Street Profits and Humberto interrupted and danced around on the entrance ramp. They then proceeded to have a painfully awkward promo that mercifully ended in them shouting “we want the smoke!”.
Street Profits isolated Karl Anderson in the ring and took turns beating him down. AJ Styles distracted Ford and Anderson capitalized with an uppercut. Styles tagged in and Montez greeted him with a Dropkick. Anderson tagged back in and Montez hit him with a Dropkick as well.
Gallows tagged in and leveled Ford with a boot to the face and then a Splash in the corner. Ford battled back with a Blockbuster and both superstars fell to the mat. Carrillo finally tagged in and beat The OC down for a bit. Ford flipped onto Gallows and Anderson outside the ring. Styles Powerbombed Carrillo and covered him while having his feet on the ropes for leverage.
RAW Ended In A Brawl
Adam Cole defended the NXT Championship against Seth Rollins in the main event of this week’s episode of RAW. Rollins dominated early and Clotheslined Cole to the outside.
Seth bounced Cole’s face off the apron and then rolled him into the ring. Rollins went for the Stomp but Adam was able to get out of the way. Rollins launched Cole into the barricade as RAW went to a commercial break.
When RAW returned, Cole had Rollins in a Headlock as Triple H watched on from ringside. Rollins escaped and hit a Buckle Bomb for a near fall. Rollins and Cole then took each other out with a Clothesline at the same time. Cole climbed to the top rope but Rollins caught him and hit a Superplex. Rollins quickly hit a Falcon Arrow and went for the cover but Cole kicked out at two.
Rollins geared up for the Stomp but Undisputed Era hopped in the ring and attacked him. A bunch of RAW and NXT superstars then rushed the ring and a giant brawl broke out. Ricochet took out everyone with a flip and the crowd chanted “holy sh*t!”. Keith Lee then flipped onto everyone as RAW went off the air.
Unfortunately, NXT couldn’t save this week’s episode of RAW. Charlotte and Natalya defeated the Women’s Tag Team Champions for no reason, Jerry Lawler had a rough night on commentary and the crowd was dead the entire night. The best part of the show was the brief backstage segment between Becky Lynch and Shayna Baszler.
