7 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 10/18

Impact Wrestling 10/18 took place from Sam's Town Live in Las Vegas.

Impact Wrestling 10/18 was the go-home show before Sunday’s Bound for Glory PPV in Chicago. It is being reported that a crowd of around 3000 people is expected for tomorrow’s event. This week’s show emanated from Las Vegas’ Sam’s Town Live.

Here are 7 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 10/18:

Sami Callihan Sends A Message To Brian Cage Ahead of Bound For Glory

Sami Callihan cut a chilling promo this week. He talked about having previously been signed to a major company but being told he had to change how he does things. Callihan would continue to say that nobody ever “gets him” and apologized for things he has done since arriving in Impact Wrestling, including ruining the wedding between Brian Cage and Melissa Santos. He said all he’s ever wanted is to be accepted and that the person he is now is not the person he wanted to be but rather the person the fans made him.

The North Has A Gameplan For Sunday

Ethan Page and Josh Alexander must face two teams on Sunday when they defend their belts against both Rich Swann & Willie Mack and Rhino & Rob Van Dam. This week, a triple threat match between Josh Alexander, Rhino, and Rich Swann took place.

Ethan Page pulled the referee out of the ring to break up a 3-count, then claimed it was Willie Mack who did so. The confusion allowed Swann to get the pin and led to some dissension amongst the two babyface teams, something the North was counting on.

Jake Crist Shows Why He’s The X-Division Champion

Not too many people are giving Jake Crist much of a chance in the Bound for Glory ladder match. Considering the level of competition he’ll face in the match, many assume Sunday will be the last day in the title reign of Jake Crist. This week, Crist defeated Chris Bey with a super-cutter from the top, however, showing he’s got the talent needed to retain his title on Sunday.

Taya Valkyrie Confident Ahead Of Match With Tenille Dashwood At Bound For Glory

Taya Valkyrie cut a promo in front of a mirror this week, talking about how far she has come in her career. Valkyrie talked about becoming Lucha royalty and the longest-reigning Knockouts champion of all-time. At Bound For Glory, Taya seems confident that Tenille Dashwood won’t take that title away from her.

Michael Elgin Defeats Fallah Bah Ahead of Bound For Glory

Michael Elgin gets his dream match this Sunday from Chicago when he takes on Naomichi Marufuji. Marufuji has spent the majority of his career with Pro Wrestling NOAH and so Elgin and he never crossed paths when Elgin was in Japan.

This week Elgin kicked things off on Impact with a victory over Fallah Bah, sending another message to his opponent on tomorrow’s PPV.

Mahabali Shera Wins Battle Royal

A battle royal was held this week with the stipulation that the winner will earn the final entry spot in the “Call Your Shot Gauntlet Match” at Bound For Glory. Much as he has done since reappearing in Impact Wrestling, Mahabali Shera defeated competition and came away from the match with the final entry spot in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Bound For Glory.

Neither Sabu Nor Rohit Raju Qualify For X-Division Ladder Match

Sabu wrestled Rohit Raju this week with the stipulation that the winner would earn the final spot in the ladder match at Bound For Glory. Both competitors were counted out, however, meaning wrestler will be in the match on Sunday.

Quick Results:

  • Michael Elgin defeated Fallah Bah
