7 Takeaways From WWE RAW (10/2)

WWE RAW aired live from the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO on October 2nd. Here are 7 takeaways from the show:

Braun Strowman Is Still A Monster

Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins kicked off this week’s episode of RAW and Strowman pretty much dominated the entire match. Rollins battled back and hit a Blockbuster off the second rope for a one count. Strowman then connected with a Clothesline and then planted Rollins with the Running Powerslam for the victory. Braun hit a second Running Powerslam on Rollins after the match and started walking up the entrance ramp.

Strowman stopped and was started making his way back to the ring, but Dean Ambrose sprinted to the ring for the save. Strowman promptly Chokeslammed Ambrose and then hit a Running Powerslam to Dean as well. Braun Strowman easily defeated both Rollins and Ambrose in back-to-back weeks. Which makes it even more silly that he lost to Lesnar at No Mercy so quickly after one F-5.

Elias Needs A Better Feud

Elias defeated Apollo Crews at No Mercy and tonight he quickly defeated Titus O’Neil. Elias has been consistently entertaining since joining the main roster. He had a great feud with Finn Balor and I thought it was going to lead to bigger things for him. Elias would make a great Intercontinental Champion in my opinion. This feud isn’t helping him at all and feels like a total waste of time.

Mickie James Gets Title Shot At WWE TLC

Alexa Bliss put diapers in Mickie James’ locker room because she called her an old lady last week. Mickie wanted to confront Alexa Bliss in her locker room, but Nia Jax got in the way. Nia then faced Mickie later on during RAW as Alexa Bliss stood ringside. Mickie connected with a Tornado DDT off the top rope and Alexa Bliss interfered in the match.

Mickie then booted Alexa in the face on the entrance ramp. It was later announced that Mickie James will face Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Championship at WWE TLC on October 22nd.

Sheamus, Cesaro & The Miz Mock The Shield

The Miz and the Miztourage entered through the crowd like The Shield before Miz defended his Intercontinental Championship against Roman Reigns. Roman then charged to the ring and took out both Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas before the match started. Reigns chased them both to the top of the entrance ramp and beat them down with a steel chair.

Reigns had The Miz set up for the Spear but Sheamus and Cesaro attacked Reigns from behind and The Miz was disqualified. Cesaro planted Reigns with the Neutralizer and then Sheamus leveled Roman with a Brogue Kick. They then mocked The Shield once again and triple Powerbombed Reigns in the middle of the ring. The Miz, Cesaro and Sheamus then fist-bumped in the middle of the ring.

Bray Wyatt Is Interesting Again

Finn Balor cut a promo on Bray Wyatt and called Bray Wyatt a coward. Balor stated that he has already defeated as “The Demon King” and as Finn Balor. Finn asked Bray Wyatt to come down to the ring and face him. Balor then said “don’t sing it Bray, bring it”. Bray was then shown on the jumbotron for the second time during RAW.

Wyatt was repetitively saying “she never lied to me” while rocking in his chair. Wyatt accused Balor of being a liar and asked him to show him his “true face”. Bray said that “Abigail is alive and she is dying to meet you”. Wyatt’s face then morphed into a skeleton and started laughing. A woman’s laugh could also be heard as the segment ended.

Balor’s line “don’t sing it, bring it” was embarrassingly bad. Bray Wyatt’s promo tonight was actually interesting. I’m not sure how Sister Abigial survived Randy Orton burning her soul to eternal damnation when he lit Wyatt’s compound on fire, but who cares? I want to see Bray Wyatt relevant again.

The Cruiserweights Main-Evented RAW Again

Kalisto (via Instagram @WWE)

Enzo said the entire Cruiserweight division can go to hell and then told the fans that agree with what they did last week to go to hell as well. Enzo bragged about making 205 Live the main-event two weeks in a row. Amore boasted about being a star and how much money he makes.

Amore raised the Cruiserweight Championship and said that nobody on 205 Live will get a shot at the title because he had a no-contact clause last week. Enzo said that he got another clause from RAW GM Kurt Angle for tonight that stated if any Cruiserweight puts their hands on him they are fired.

The 205 Live roster then came down to the ring and surrounded Amore in the ring. Enzo then roasted every one of them. Kurt Angle finally interrupted and made his way to the entrance ramp. Angle said that the clause didn’t apply to the newest member of the Cruiserweight division that he just signed. Kalisto then came down to the ring and attacked Enzo. Kalisto planted Amore with the Salida del Sol and then celebrated in the ring.

Kalisto makes sense for the Cruiserweight division. I’m not sure how entertaining a feud between Enzo Amore and Kalisto will be. I have a feeling Enzo will find new ways to cheat and hold onto the Cruiserweight Championship for a while.

Reigns, Ambrose & Rollins Close The Show

Dean Ambrose approached Roman Reigns backstage and then Seth Rollins joined them. Reigns looked at both of them and the three Superstars nodded their heads. Ambrose and Rollins walked away as RAW went off the air. It was announced during RAW that Cesaro and Sheamus will be guests on Miz TV next week. I wouldn’t be surprised if The Shield show up and attack them next week on RAW.
