AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland will be staying with AEW after inking a new deal, just hours before the biggest match of his career. On the AEW All In: London 2024 Zero Hour show, footage was shown of Strickland inking a brand new contract which was also signed by AEW President Tony Khan.
Strickland signing a new AEW deal comes shortly before he defends the AEW World Championship at All In: London 2024. In the show’s main event, Strickland will put his gold on the line against Bryan Danielson. The American Dragon earned the title match by winning the Owen Hart Foundation 2024 Men’s Tournament.
Danielson has vowed to retire from in-ring competition if he does not win the AEW World Championship tonight. Ever the resilient champion, Strickland has said he has no issue with the idea of being the one to end the career of his immensely popular challenger. AEW All In: London 2024 will mark Danielson’s first time competing in Wembley Stadium and the second time for Strickland.
