CM Punk sent shockwaves throughout the pro wrestling industry last week when he made a surprise appearance on WWE Backstage. It was his first appearance on WWE programming in over five years.
The 41-year-old former WWE Champion admits it is somewhat “weird” trying to catch up on the past five years of WWE programming. For those wondering if CM Punk will truly speak his mind or be forced to soften his stance on a ‘WWE’ show, there might be a few pipe bombs in store.
Punk says most of the highlights he’s seen from the past few years have involved WWE’s female Superstars. He added, “There’s BAD too. I’m gonna talk about it, and no one is safe.”
Punk tagged several accounts in the tweet, including WWE Backstage co-hosts Renee Young, Booker T and Page. He also tagged WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon as well as AEW President Tony Kahn, a sign that Punk won’t shy away from mentioning All Elite Wrestling (AEW) if it comes up.
Rapper Wale asked CM Punk if he’s going to compete in the 2020 Royal Rumble. Punk said bluntly, “Nope.” and clarified that he works for Fox Sports, not WWE.
Tune in to WWE Backstage Tuesday night at 11PM ET on FS1 to see what CM Punk has in store for fans during his first week as a correspondent.
