The announcement of CM Punk’s Starrcast booking led to many rumors and speculations with a lot of people wondering if this is a step towards the former WWE Champion’s AEW debut.
Things, however, took a different turn when Punk spoke to ESPN and he seemed disappointed by the fact that he received a text from Cody Rhodes regarding business instead of going and meeting him in person.
Rhodes recently replied to these comments from the former WWE Star and responding to a tweet, he claimed that Punk might have been misquoted as one of them had met the Straight Edge Star in person recently:

CM Punk had a long interview with ESPN where he talked about the idea of joining AEW which is being thrown around since his Starrcast booking was announced.
However Punk seemed to suggest that AEW Officials have exaggerated their relations and revealed that the last communication they had was a text from Cody:
“The last thing I got — I got a text from Cody [Rhodes]. I always think if somebody wants to do business with me, they can come talk to me. Texting offers isn’t really a way to do good business, at least.”
While CM Punk has so far stayed true to his words and stayed away from wrestling since leaving WWE, a lot of people believe that the former Champion will return to the ring eventually.
