WWE is gearing up for the premiere of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX as the production staff is already prepared for the show.
The construction on the stage and set is done. A photo of the set up as has surfaced online, which you can see here:
FOX has been helping promote the brand during its various sports broadcasts in hopes of increasing ratings when the show gets to the network.
FOX is paying WWE $1 billion over five years for the rights to SmackDown after inking the contract last year with the company.
WWE holds this show from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. WWE is advertising the following items for tonight’s broadcast:
- Brock Lesnar vs. WWE Champion Kofi Kingston
- RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and Sasha Banks
- Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon in a Ladder Match
- Erick Rowan vs. Roman Reigns
- The Rock to appear
Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, Sting, Ric Flair, Booker T, Lita, Mick Foley, Kurt Angle, Bill Goldberg, Trish Stratus, Mark Henry, and Jerry Lawler are all advertised to appear.
