Ivory has been announced as the latest member of the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2018.
Ivory’s Career in Wrestling
Lisa Mary Moretti (aka Ivory) got her start in pro-wrestling in 1986 when she auditioned for the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling television show. Despite having no prior wrestling experience, Moretti was one of the women chosen. The Netflix series “GLOW” is based on the experiences of women who were on the show.
After training for six weeks, Moretti adopted the ring name Tina Ferrari and performed on the show. GLOW ended in 1992 and she would wrestle sparingly with other promotions after. In 1999, however, she returned to pro-wrestling in a big way when she signed with WWE. The promotion would rename her “Ivory”.
Ivory was the perfect heel woman in WWE’s Attitude Era. She would win the WWE (then WWF) women’s championship on 3 occasions before opting not to renew her contract with the company in 2005.
The 56-year old now runs a pet-sitting and grooming business in Washington State.
Ivory joins Bill Goldberg and the Dudley Boyz in the Class of 2018.
The 2018 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place on Friday night, April 6th from New Orleans during WrestleMania 34 weekend.
