John Cena

It looks like the next couple of years are going to be very exciting for fans of John Cena as the Cenation Leader is set to star in two of the biggest Hollywood movies coming out in the next two years.

It was recently announced that John will be joining the Fast and Furious franchise and be part of the 9th Furious film scheduled for 2020. Now the 16 Time World Champion has been announced for another big movie.

Director James Gunn took on his Twitter today and announced the cast for his upcoming sequel of Suicide Squad. The list includes stars such as Idris Elba, Margot Robbie and none other than the former World Champion himself:

While not confirmed it’s speculated that Cena will be playing the role of Peacemaker in the movie. Though there have been several different illustrations of the character over the years and it would be interesting to see which one Gunn picks for his film.

This is not the first time John Cena’s name has been associated with a Superhero flick. At a time he was the front runner for DCEU’s Shazam movie, but he ultimately wasn’t chosen for the film.

The 9th installment of the Fast and Furious franchise will hit theatres on May 22, 2020, while the initial release date for the Suicide Squad sequel is August 6, 2021.
