AEW Dynamite premieres on TNT in just over one week. Ahead of next week’s big show, there are some interesting new details to report regarding behind-the-scenes happenings at All Elite Wrestling.
As first reported in our world exclusive about the formation of AEW, agent Barry Bloom was instrumental in getting the project off the ground, until he was effectively pushed out of the venture in its early stages.
Since then, Bloom has maneuvered himself back into the AEW mix in a more profitable way: by cornering the market on AEW’s top stars.
Barry Bloom has been a power broker in the industry for decades. He represented Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and others during the height of WCW’s boom period. He still reps some of the top names in the wrestling, including Jim Ross and Chris Jericho.
SEScoops has learned that Bloom recently signed Kenny Omega as a client. Omega is arguably the franchise player of All Elite Wrestling, so this signing is significant as it relates to Bloom’s influence. Nick and Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks are also in talks with Barry Bloom.
Fellow AEW Executive VP Cody Rhodes is currently signed with Brian Wittenstein, but Jim Ross is encouraging Cody to keep his options open.
In addition to Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, Barry Bloom is taking meetings with high profile talent from WWE and Impact Wrestling about representation.
According to a source to the matter, Bloom is actively positioning himself to be a key player in the inevitable WWE/NXT vs. AEW talent war.
