On Thursday night WWE held the first round of Cruiserweight Classic tapings from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. The Cruiserweight Classic premieres on the WWE Network on Wednesday, July 13.
– Mike Rome is the ring announcer.
– Daniel Bryan and Mauro Ranallo on commentary.
– All 32 wrestlers were introduced to the crowd.
First Episode (Airing 7/13):
– Gran Metalik defeated Alejandro Saez with the Dorada Screwdriver.
– Ho Ho Lun defeated Ariya Daivari out of nowhere with a German suplex.
– Cedric Alexander defeated Clement Petiot in a really good match with the Lumbar Check.
– The Brian Kendrick defeated Raul Mendoza by submission. Kendrick worked as a heel and Mendoza was very impressive with a lot of crowd support. Fans chanted his name after the match.
– Lince Dorado defeated Mustafa Ali. Ali had to be helped to the back after the match by trainers.
– Akira Tozawa defeated Kenneth Johnson.
Second Episode (Airing 7/20):
– Tajiri defeated Damian Slater with a kick to the head.
– TJ Perkins defeated Da Mack by submission.
– Lince Dorado defeated Mustafa Ali with a Shooting Star Press. Ali may have suffered a neck injury.
– Akira Tozawa defeated Kenneth Johnson.
Third Episode (Airing 7/27):
– Zack Sabre Jr. defeated Tyson Dux by submission.
– Drew Gulak defeated Harv Shira by submission.
– Tony Nese defeated Anthony Bennett. Bennett may have suffered a knee injury and had to be helped to the back.
– Kota Ibushi defeated Sean Maluta with a sit out powerbomb.
Fourth Episode (Airing 8/3):
– Rich Swann defeated Jason Lee.
– Noam Dar defeated Gurv Shira.
– Jack Gallagher defeated Fabian Archer.
– Johnny Gargano defeated Tomasso Ciampa.
