WWE SmackDown Spoilers For May 12, 2016

WWE invades the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa to tape this week’s episode of Thursday Night SmackDown.

WWE Superstars taping:

– Big Cass def. Curtis Axel in a short match. Bo Dallas was at ringside

– Apollo Crews def. Stardust with the toss powerbomb.

– Baron Corbin def. Zack Ryder with the End of Days.

WWE SmackDown taping:

– This week’s SmackDown opens up with Dean Ambrose in the ring cutting a promo on Jericho. Jericho’s music hits and the lights go out, they come back on and Jericho is in the ring beating down Ambrose. Jericho puts a straight-jacket on Ambrose then hits the Codebreaker before referees separate them. Ambrose is down as Jericho taunts the fans before heading to the back, saying he will give them the “gift of Jericho” and calls them stupid idiots.

– Rusev def. Sin Cara in a short match. Rusev cut a promo backstage before the match, ranting about what happened on RAW. Kalisto was on commentary. Rusev left both Lucha Dragons laying at the end of the match.

– Renee Young interviews Emma backstage, and formally introduces Dana Brooke, who will face Becky Lynch tonight.

– Dana Brooke def. Becky Lynch in a short match. Emma accompanied Dana to the ring.

– Backstage, AJ Styles tells Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson that he promises to take care of Roman Reigns if he interferes in their match against The Usos tonight.

– Aiden English def. Kofi Kingston after he rolls him up from behind and uses the ropes. Simon Gotch, Xavier Woods and Big E were all ejected from ringside, which distracted Kingston before the finish. One fan report says The New Day got the biggest pop of the night.

– Roman Reigns is backstage with The Usos. Reigns promises if AJ gets involved, he’ll run in.

– The Usos def. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson via DQ. There were dueling chants of “Let’s go Usos” and “Usos suck” during the match. The Usos started making a big comeback until Gallows hits one with a steel chair for the disqualification. Gallows and Anderson beat down the Usos with chairs and stand tall in the ring.

– Backstage, R-Truth builds a selfie stick with Tyler Breeze, and Fandango tries to teach Goldust how to dance.

– Time for a “life lesson” with Bob Backlund and Darren Young. Backlund asks Young what time he’s got on his watch, and Young pulls out his cell phone to check. Backlund berates Young for “trying to make a phone call” instead of answering him, and makes him do 200 squats for disobedience.

– R-Truth and Tyler Breeze def. Fandango and Goldust after Truth and Goldust refused to fight each other, and Breeze and Fandango turned on them. Fandago and Breeze beat down both Goldust and R-Truth after the match then leave together.

– Backstage, Renee Young interviews Charlotte and Ric Flair. Charlotte says what happened on RAW was a travesty, and Flair promises that his daughter will retain the Women’s Championship at Extreme Rules.

– Cesaro & Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens & The Miz ends in a no contest when Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale on his own partner. Before the finish, Sami Zayn also gave his partner Cesaro the Helluva Kick by accident. After the match, Owens recovers and throws The Miz into the ring for Cesaro and Zayn to deal with. Cesaro hits a 32-second Swing on The Miz, then Zayn hits the current IC Champion with the Helluva Kick. The show ends with Cesaro and Zayn in the ring.
