It was a significant show last night for MLW. The promotion will be taking a hiatus until July 10th when they welcome back fans inside Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena. Last night’s Fusion was billed as the “Season Finale” and in addition to the big reveal of the former Dario Cueto, a major title change also took place on the show.
Myron Reed becomes the first person to win he MLW World Middleweight Championship twice as he defeated Lio Rush to regain the belt. Rush had defeated Reed for the title on January 6th’s Kings of the Colosseum event. Reed would kick out from Rush’s frog splash in the rematch, however, and pick up the win with his “No Cap Splash” moments later.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman was the inaugural champion. He held the title for close to 3 months before vacating it. Teddy Hart then won the vacant belt and successfully defended it 6x over the course of the next 11 months. Hart then dropped it to Reed, who held it through 4 title defenses and then a pandemic before dropping it to Rush in January.
