Ryback Undergoing Multiple Surgeries, Update On His WWE Status

During his time away from WWE television, Ryback is undergoing ear, nose and throat surgery to address hearing and breathing issues that have affected him for many years. The big guy tweeted on Monday afternoon:

Ear, nose and throat surgery today. I have put off some serious stuff the last 11 years and it will be nice hearing and breathing normal.

Later in the day, he followed up with a post-op photo, noting that he was only able to have the ear portion of the surgery done yesterday and will need an additional procedure for the nose and throat portion.

Well due to some strict hospital rules and my surgeries requiring two doctors only could get the ear part of the surgery today. I am very thankful to have gotten this taken care of. Looking forward to some serious swimming with @wadebarrett and Michael Phelps soon!

The Big Guy’s WWE contract expires this summer and we’ve heard that there’s been virtually no progress in his contractual dispute. Unless they come to a resolution soon, we could see Ryback following in the footsteps of Cody Rhodes on the independent circuit.
