Triple H ‘NXT Takeover: WarGames’ Media Call Recap

Triple H took part in a media conference call on Wednesday to promote this week’s NXT Takeover: WarGames event. Here are some highlights:

Tonight’s edition of NXT on the USA Network will be “one of the best shows we’ve ever done.” Triple H says that some big names are on their way to Full Sail for the final hard sell before Survivor Series.

The split between RAW, SmackDown and NXT will be “more defined” after Survivor Series.

NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Bazsler being added to Becky Lynch vs. Bayley makes the match a must-see.

Regarding Johnny Gargano’s neck injury, Triple H said his status is “day to day” and he’s “gutted” to miss this weekend’s shows.

Triple H has been pleasantly surprised at how well NXT wrestlers have adapted to weekly live television. He called it a fun and collaborative process.

The Imperium were “incredibly well-received” backstage after their appearances on RAW and SmackDown.

Triple H has “zero interest” in wrestling at Survivor Series, despite a rumor going around that he will be competing on behalf of NXT.

The final member of Team NXT will probably be made the day of the show. It will be “epic” and fans will love it.

Regarding WWE and NXT wrestlers that are unhappy and venting their grievances online, Triple H encourages them to, “Come talk to us. Don’t put it out on social media.” He said it’s a “maturity issue” and urged talent to “handle your business like a professional.”

There were discussions about a triple threat match at WWE Survivor Series involving NXT Champion Adam Cole, WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Universal Champion Bray Wyatt. However, WWE felt Lesnar vs. Mysterio was the right match to book because the program has been so strong.

Triple H put over Adam Cole as a consummate professional and can’t say enough good things about him.

It was not easy managing the simultaneous builds towards NXT Takeover: WarGames and WWE Survivor Series.

Triple H believes NXT’s success will continue driving WWE’s global expansion.
