Update On NXT Moving Out Of Full Sail

WWE is considering moving NXT’s weekly television show out of Full Sail Live, the host venue from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. The campus location is a cost-effective venue for NXT but the small crowd size has some feeling as though taking the brand on the road might be a good idea.

According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is considering bringing NXT on the road Wednesday nights from time-to-time but keeping Full Sail as their main venue.

“There is talk going around that they will continue to use Full Sail, just not every week, with the idea of doing some shows live at Full Sail and some in arenas outside Florida,” wrote Dave Meltzer. Bringing NXT on the road would not begin until 2020, however.

“They’ve been talking to arenas for television starting in January,” Meltzer continued.

NXT at Full Sail University

In September, WWE and Full Sail announced they had extended the partnership together.

“WWE (NYSE: WWE) and Full Sail University have expanded their partnership as NXT will now emanate weekly from Full Sail Live and air on Wednesday nights live on USA Network at 8/7c starting September 18,” a press release reads.

“With the latest announcement of NXT emanating from Full Sail Live each week and airing on the USA Network, we look forward to the expanded learning opportunities this will provide to our students,” said Full Sail University President, Garry Jones.
