ROH appears to have fired their current Women Of Honor Champion Kelly Klein.
The news was first confirmed by Klein’s husband BJ Whitmer who took on his Twitter and accused ROH COO Joe Koff of firing the female star via an email:
The women’s champion herself has not commented on the matter directly but she has been sharing tweets from her supporters since the report came out.
Though after the news went viral, a representative from the company reached out to media outlets. They issued the following statement, claiming that they haven’t fired Klein and instead just informed her that she won’t be re-signed :
“We normally don’t discuss these matters but since it seems to have been made public — We did not fire Kelly but we did notify her that we would not be re-signing her when her current agreement expires. She is still under contract through the end of the year.”
Klein’s issues with ROH seem to have initiated when the women’s champion spoke out in support of Joey Mercury. Joey himself left the company in October this year and he has been pointing out issues with the promotion on social media recently.
One issue in particular that seems to have upset ROH officials is an email from GM Greg Gilleland, which Mercury published on social media with permission from Kelly. The email revealed that she was making less than $24,000 a year with the company.
It’s unknown how ROH is planning to move forward with the Women’s Title after the release of Kelly but we’ll keep you posted on any update on the situation.
