WWE Friday Night SmackDown Sees Drop In Final Draft Viewership

Friday’s edition of WWE SmackDown on FOX from averaged 2.877 million viewers, according to ShowbuzzDaily. This is down from the 3.888 million viewers that the show did for the premiere episode of SmackDown on FOX. 

The show averaged 2.898 million viewers in the fast nationals, which was down from last week’s 3.870 million viewers. This number measured the top metered markets. 

The episode was expected to maintain viewership due to the hype surrounding night one of the draft. 

The show had to go up against an MLB divisional game on the TBS Network that did 4.646 million viewers.

Matches that took place on this show include Seth Rollins defeated Roman Reigns kicked off the show to earn the right for the first overall pick, King Corbin defeated Shorty Gable, The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) defeated The OC (AJ Styles, Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows), and Bayley defeated Charlotte Flair to win the SmackDown Women’s Title. 

The show also featured appearances by the likes of former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez appearing alongside Rey Mysterio to further his program with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar.
