Fans have been waiting to see Brock Lesnar back inside of the squared circle and so do WWE officials. His profile was recently added to the active roster page on WWE.com.Â
Andrew Zarian reported on the Mat Men podcast that WWE wants him back and he was mentioned early on in discussions for potential SummerSlam plans. As it stands right now, Zarian hasn’t been told that Lesnar is slated for a match at this event or even signed a new deal with WWE.
WWE does have notable plans for SummerSlam such as a big main event and a big celebrity guest host. WWE wants to do John Cena vs. WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in the headliner and the rumored guest host is rapper Cardi B.
No matches have been confirmed for the SummerSlam card just yet. Lesnar’s name was mentioned on Monday’s Raw during a segment with WWE Champion Bobby Lashley, Kofi Kingston, and Drew McIntyre.
It should be noted that nothing has been confirmed for the SummerSlam card as of this writing. Lashley asked why they were talking about a person who doesn’t even work for WWE.
Lesnar hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since dropping the WWE Title to McIntyre in the main event of WrestleMania 36 Night Two last year. His contract expired last August.
The WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view is scheduled for Saturday, August 21.
