Monday’s episode of WWE Raw had a long talking segment as The Miz and John Morrison welcomed Charlotte Flair and Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley to further hype their match at the upcoming Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event.
This led to Nikki Cross coming out and stating that she beat Ripley last week. Thus, she wanted a title match. However, Ripley actually failed to beat Cross in the two-minute challenge match. Eventually, Cross ended up wrestling Flair in the same match.
Pwinsider.com reports the segment went about 8-10 minutes longer than planned. As a result, WWE had to cut time from other segments, which didn’t thrill Vince McMahon. However, WWE didn’t have to cut anything from the show, but several segments were shuffled around to different points of the broadcast instead of their original placement in order to accommodate time cuts.
It was added that Kofi Kingston vs. Drew McIntyre was always slated to close the show and it went about as planned in terms of length.
McIntyre ended up winning the match to earn the right to challenge WWE Champion Bobby Lashley for the strap at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event.
