CM Punk & Seth Rollins Get Personal Ahead Of Raw On Netflix Battle

Seth Rollins and CM Punk didn’t hold back during this week’s Raw in their final war of words before doing battle at WWE Raw’s debut on Netflix. The pair will face off on the January 6, show, in a match once considered for WrestleMania. The tension between these two superstars has been simmering since Punk’s return to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames, though their feud traces back to verbal jabs exchanged long before Punk’s celebrated comeback..

Punk And Rollins: The Final Face-to-Face

Rollins opened the segment, welcomed by a serenade from the Houston crowd, and boldly declared himself—not Punk—as the real “best in the world.” Punk arrived shortly after Rollins quipped that Punk had “taken his ball and gone home” in 2014. The remark referenced WWE’s past critiques of ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, who famously left the company in 2002 under similar circumstances.

Punk fired back, asking if Becky Lynch took her ball and went home this year when she didn’t re-sign with WWE. Getting even more personal, Rollins said that Lynch is at home raising their child, something Punk and his wife AJ Lee would know nothing about.

Rollins further stoked the flames by alluding to Punk’s controversial 2014 appearance on Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast and his tumultuous run in AEW. While Rollins avoided mentioning AEW or Cabana by name, the Houston crowd quickly connected the dots.

Punk said that he loved WWE, but hated the man in charge, a line that popped the crowd and a rare nod to Vince McMahon. The Best in the World added that the former Chairman loved Rollins, which again popped the crowd.

Punk left WWE because he had to, and it took years to remove all the damage and pointed out how fans chanted his name for years, claiming it mostly came during Rollins’ segments. Rollins ended the exchange by calling Punk “a cancer,” a term he’d used before Punk’s 2023 return, accusing him of infecting the locker room, the wrestling industry, and even his own mind.

This fiery exchange has built immense anticipation for what is being hailed as one of WWE’s most significant non-title matches in years. Fans remain divided on who they want to emerge victorious. Stay tuned to SEScoops for updates as the countdown to Punk vs. Rollins continues.
