WWE’s Creative Teams Shaken Up Ahead Of Reported Draft

WWE's creative teams have been shaken up ahead of the reported draft that will take place next month.

UPDATE: We originally reported that Ed Koskey has been RAW’s lead writer for the past 20 years. Koskey is currently the longest-running RAW lead writer, and has 20 years of experience with the company. We have edited the article to reflect this.

We recently reported that WWE is allegedly planning a new draft for next month. Turns out that not only RAW, SmackDown, and NXT Superstars have been affected by it.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, WWE’s creative teams have been shaken up ahead of the draft. It’s said that this behind-the-scenes change took place on Wednesday, although it was noted they were apparently in the works for some time.

SmackDown Live writer Ryan Warn is supposedly now out of the position on personal leave. Vince McMahon has rewritten the scripts for the show over the past few weeks, making this change somewhat expected.

RAW’s lead writer Ed Koskey will now be moving to SmackDown, joining the blue brands Executive Director, Eric Bischoff. Prior to this move, Koskey had been RAW’s longest-running lead writer, and has 20 years of experience with WWE.
Jonathan Baeckstrom will take his place as the show’s new lead writer alongside RAW’s Executive Director, Paul Heyman. Baeckstrom was previously the lead writer for 205 Live.

It was mentioned that WWE wanted to get these new teams in place ahead of the Superstar Shakeup in October. This allows them to become accustomed to their new creative working environments, allowing them to plot future storylines leading into their new rosters.
