Drew McIntyre is holding nothing back in his feud with CM Punk, and now former WWE Superstar AJ Lee has been thrown into the mix.
Punk and McIntyre have been at odds for some time with Drew taking credit for the injury Punk sustained in January that kept him from competing at WrestleMania. At the April 2024 event, Punk attacked McIntyre, giving Damian Priest the opening to cash in his Money in the Bank contract on Drew who’d won the World Heavyweight Championship mere minutes earlier.
Now, McIntyre has brought up Punk’s wife AJ Lee in the latest escalation of their feud. On the Pat McAfee Show, McIntyre shared how much of a ‘troll’ he can be when it comes to the ‘Best in the World.’
“I’ll tear you apart on social media. I’ll step from behind the keyboard and I’ll tear you apart physically and if I wasn’t married I’d take your girl too. That’s the kind of troll I am.”
Punk and AJ married in 2014, mere months after Punk walked out of the promotion following that year’s Royal Rumble event. Punk received his termination papers from WWE on his wedding day, which was a sheer coincidence according to then-WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. After Punk’s return to WWE in November 2023, fans rallied behind the idea that AJ could return as well, though that hasn’t happened yet.
Punk’s feud with McIntyre has been a highlight of WWE programming in recent weeks, but the two won’t collide just yet. In addition to Punk’s torn triceps, McIntyre is dealing with an elbow injury he has blamed on Punk. Nevertheless, the pair continue to appear on Raw with anticipation growing towards their eventual collision.
