Jerry Lawler’s heart attack at Monday’s RAW got mainstream media coverage from CNN, the Associated Press, FOX, TMZ and many others.
As you can imagine, the mood backstage at RAW last night was very tense. When it became apparent that Lawler was suffering a medical emergency on the air, many people began praying and nobody was paying attention to the show.
Sources who were backstage at RAW are crediting the EMT’s for saving Lawler’s life. Had the heart attack taken place at an independent wrestling show where they don’t have EMT’s and a heart defibulator on hand, Lawler’s fate might have been different.
Lawler is currently in stable condition at the cardiac ICU of a Montreal hospital and is scheduled to undergo heart surgery today.
F4wonline.com is reporting the following details on Jerry Lawler’s condition:
– Lawler wrestled both Friday and Saturday nights in Aruba before heading back to the States and flying to Montreal for RAW on Monday.
– Lawler showed no signs of health problems over the weekend.
– There was some concern at RAW about blood being cut off to Lawler’s brain and potential brain damage. Several fans who were ringside noted that Lawler’s skin appeared blue, a result of oxygen deprivation.

Smith Hart, brother of WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart, says he was told by a friend backstage at Monday’s Raw at Centre Bell in Montreal, Quebec, Canada that Jerry Lawler was “clinically dead” for twenty minutes before being revived by a defibrillator.
He wrote on Twitter, “According to my friend Jeremy Prophet who was backstage at RAW, Jerry was clinically dead for 20 min before being brought back by defibrilat.”
According to the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation, clinical death is the medical term for cessation of blood circulation and breathing, which are two necessary criteria to sustain life. This occurs when the heart stops beating in a regular rhythm and is also known as cardiac arrest.
Hart noted that “it has been confirmed that Jerry did suffer a heart attack.” Since medical personnel were at ringside, Lawler was able to receive immediate treatment.
According to Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer, Lawler remains in stable condition. He is breathing on his own and his heart is beating on its own, but is considered not out of danger.
WWE broadcaster and wrestler Jerry “The King” Lawler is believed to have suffered a heart attack or stroke when he collapsed ringside during Monday night’s live episode of Raw.
Alex Marvez reported Monday night on FoxSports.com following the show: “A source told FoxSports.com that it’s believed Lawler suffered a stroke or heart attack, with the former being the most likely. The fact medical personnel were at ringside allowed Lawler to receive immediate treatment, the source said.”
According to Bryan Alvarez of Figure Four Weekly and Wrestling Observer, talent were told by WWE officials that Lawler likely suffered a heart attack.
Lawler, who had participated in a tag team match alongside Randy Orton earlier in the show, collapsed at the announcer’s table while commentating the tag team match featuring Daniel Bryan and Kane vs. Darren Young and Titus O’Neil and was taken away on a stretcher. He received CPR backstage at Centre Bell in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and was then admitted to an area hospital. Cole stated at 10:55 p.m. EST that Lawler appeared more responsive and was reacting to the lights in his eyes.
As the broadcast concluded at 11:14 p.m. EST, Cole stated that Lawler’s condition had stabilized. “He is breathing on his own. His heart is beating on its own,” said Cole. He also noted that he was being prepared for a CAT scan of his chest and head.
Lawler’s longtime broadcast partner Jim Ross subsequently tweeted at 11:58 p.m., “No updates on the King. Hospitalized in Montreal. Tests being done. Going to be a long night here in Okla. Wish I was in Montreal. Pray.”

It would appear that Rosita is no longer affiliated with TNA Wrestling. The organization updated its Knockouts Photo Galleries page over the weekend and the sparingly seen wrestler was removed from its roster list along with Traci Brooks and Winter, who both confirmed parting ways with the organization.
Rosita is still listed on the main roster page, although several performers who have parted ways with the organization since May remain listed. This includes Devon, Matt Morgan, Ric Flair, Velvet Sky and Winter.
The 21-year-old wrestler has been without a role since Mexican America quietly dissolved in the spring. Her last television appearance took place five months ago on the April 17 episode of Impact Wrestling. During her absence, she became a certified instructor of Zumba and continued to compete for various independent leagues.
Meanwhile, Rosita, whose real name is Thea Trinidad, recalled her out-of-character interview at last year’s No Surrender pay-per-view event remembering her father, who died ten years ago that day in the September 11 attacks.
“Last yrs #NoSurrender PPV INTERVIEW gave u a piece of therealme. My story, my love4wrestling, my drive4 allaroundsuccess lives on thx2my Dad,” she tweeted. “I’m so appreciative of the love and support of my family, friends and fans.. You all help fuel my fire. God has blessed me in so many ways.”

The official website of Los Angeles Times has published an article reporting that WWE is leaning toward launching a pay-TV channel with its fledgling WWE Network.
WWE originally hoped to launch the channel on the basic cable tier and receive a subscription fee of approximately 20 cents per month per subscriber. However, space is limited on most cable and satellite systems and the amount of WWE content already available limited the growth potential of a stand-alone commercial network.
“Clearly the cable operators didn’t view what they brought to market as compelling enough,” said Brad Safalow, an analyst with PAA Research who took the organization to task last month during its second-quarter-earnings call for not sharing more information on the network.
WWE is now focusing its efforts on creating a commercial-free, pay-subscription channel similar to HBO and Showtime that consumers would order at their discretion, according to people familiar with the sports-entertainment organization’s mindset.
If WWE goes forward with a premium channel, it would likely feature most pay-per-view events on the network to entice people to sign up. The exceptions would be major events, most notably WrestleMania.
“Subscribing to the network would be a ‘no brainer’ for the company’s hardcore fans,” Safalow stated in a recent report.
He anticipates a subscription price of $14.95 for the channel and that WWE should be able to instantly garner 400,000 subscribers and almost double that amount in two years. He projects that in 2014, a pay channel could add as much as $141.6 million in revenue to the company.
WWE remains mum on its plans for the network. “The WWE Network in any form is a transformative opportunity if we execute it right,” said George Barrios, WWE’s Chief Financial Officer. “It is taking the appropriate amount of time for us to identify the best strategic and financial opportunity.”
Chyna, who is clamoring for a one night return to WWE to properly say goodbye to her fans, recounted the nature of her departure from the sports-entertainment organization in 2001 on Twitter Sunday night.
She sorely recalled how she discovered that Triple H, her then-boyfriend, had been having an affair with Stephanie McMahon, as well as the aftermath, which included a behind closed doors confrontation with the WWE chief’s daughter. She wrote, “If you didn’t know, Triple H & I were engaged during the time of the Mcmahon/Helmsley Takeover on Raw. About 6 months into that storyline, Paul would come home and start arguments with me for no reason and leave out for a few days. After he left one day, he left the Haliburton brief case that I gave him in the house. Now, I’m not one to be snooping but something just Didn’t feel right. I opened it up and found a love letter that Stephaniewrote to him a year earlier saying that she was in love with him. I called Vince up and told him what I found out. He just replied that the jig was up.
“The next day I went to the Raw show where there was a Bunch of wrestlers talking as I walked in the backstage. They started parting the way and turning their backs to me. Not even asking why I was crying. The same wrestlers that I had trained and performed with day in and day out. I was lead into Vince office where he was there With Stephanie. She basically said that Paul was his and I just had to deal with it. I said that she was lucky her father was there or I Would of ripped her face off. Vince said to go home and take some time off and then we will deal with it. I was near the end of my contract So basically, he never resigned me.”
Chyna alleges that Vince McMahon wreaked havoc on her professional life post-WWE by having entertainment companies blacklist her. She continues, “He choose his daughters happiness over his talent and maybe he should have. But this was business. Even if he didn’t want me on the show anymore because of the two of them , I couldn’t of been a trainer of up and coming talent? I couldn’t of done something else within WWE where I never would of had to run into or deal with Stephanie. Then to blackball me in other Ventures was inexcusable. Didn’t you know that it was me, not Kristen Loken, that was suppose to be the female Terminator in Terminator 3? But Vince threw his weight around and basically told everyone that if you want access to the wrestlers then they couldn’t desal with me.”
Chyna then ponders why she has not been welcomed back by WWE when other wrestlers have done far worse things than pornography. She writes, “Since that time, I have never heard anything from Paul. Not even just to see how I was doing. Nothing. I will admit that for a long time I was bitter. But lets not forget, I was stilla woman that was cheated on. Wrestling has nothing to do with that fact. And over the course of those 12 years , I have asked many time to copme back not for me, but so that I could give a proper goodbye to My fansbecause they deserve nothing less than that. But he has always said No. I did hear this rumor that he was going to put me into The WWE Hall of Fame but that was before I did the brief appearance on TNA.
“So the idea of me doing porn is the reason why I can’t come back because likeI said, porn was 12 yrs down the line. And, me doing porn only affects me. It was my choice to do it. Other wrestlers have done far worse and Vince welcomes them back With open arms and a friendly smile.
“Pat Patterson was accused of sexual harrassment of a WWE official and is fired. Once the charges are dropped, not only is he rehired but He gets put into The Hall of Fame. And how many times did Jeff Hardy get arrested over drugs and still came back? So see, I’m have a reason tom be bitter but I will let it go for the love of my fans in the WWE. I don’t have to have any interactions with Paul or Stephanie. This is what I would like. Maybe to be a guest announcer one night where I’m able to actually say goodbye to everyone That would be ideal but this is the real world and sorry but I’m not joining Vince’s Kiss My Ass Club.”
Devon’s departure from TNA Wrestling two weeks ago due to his contract not being renewed came as shock to many employees since he well-liked and considered a model employee. Hulk Hogan is among those people.
Sunday on Twitter, the legendary wrestler was asked about Devon returning to TNA for at least one night to drop the Television Championship and responded “I’m all over it.” He continued,:
@Koobie101 yo Anthony I'm all over it,Devon is to valubable to ever let him slip away, huge screw up on somebodys part. HH
