  • Paul Bearer/WWE HOF Update, No Big Daddy V Graphic On RAW, Batista DVD

    – WWE is working on a new Batista DVD set. According to WrestlingDVDNews.com, the DVD and Blu-ray sets will be released on Tuesday, June 10th.

    – Despite the announcement not being made at RAW last night as originally expected, Paul Bearer is still considered to be a “lock” for the 2014 class of the WWE Hall Of Fame.

    – Apparently many people found it interesting that WWE did not air an “In Memory Of” graphic during RAW for Nelson Frazier, who worked for the company as Mabel, Viscera and Big Daddy V. As of right now, there’s no real word as to why WWE did not air such a graphic, as they normally do when a former Superstar for the company passes away.

  • DDP Speaks On Fans Hijacking Shows, Working With Heath Slater, Shark Tank

The following are highlights from a recent Journey Of A Frontman interview with Diamond Dallas Page:

On his appearance on ABC”s “Shark Tank” reality show: “Well you know, there was parts where there was tension. I thought they did such an amazing job on the edit. I was just like, “Wow!” I was blown away. It was what it should be, an inspirational piece. It didn’t matter whether we got a deal or not, it was amazing all the way around. That’s the way I see it.”

On wrestlers using DDP Yoga: “Well, the best example I can give you is the guy who really gave me the credibility, Chris Jericho. He had herniated his L4 when he was doing Dancing with the Stars. Even though the show was really physical, it wasn’t that. It was the twenty years of wrestling he had prior to that. It was the straw that broke the camel’s back, so to speak. I heard he was out and the doctor said he was done, the same thing happened to me at forty two, and now he’s forty. They’re saying he’s done, so I sent him the video of Arthur’s transformation, a disabled veteran (that was told that he would never be able to walk on his own ever again) who with DDP Yoga, lost one hundred and forty pounds in ten months and was able to walk and run on his own, gaining tremendous balance and flexibility along the way. The video has over ten million views.”

“I sent it to Jericho about two and a half years ago. When he saw the video, he said, ”Send me whatever he did and I will do whatever you want me to do.” And he followed the plan exactly the way I taught him. In five weeks, he was eighty five percent pain free. In three months, he was a hundred percent pain free. He headlined Wrestlemania two years ago in Miami, then he worked for a couple more months, then he took off and went touring with his band Fozzy for six months. And then he showed up at the Royal Rumble in January of 2013. If you’re not wrestling all the time, you fly out there in the first five minutes, you’ll be blown sky high. But because DDP YOGA is a kickass cardiovascular workout that dramatically increases your flexibility and strengthens your core with minimal joint impact, he was able to come back and wrestle a match because of my workout and the level that he does it. He was the number two spot in the Royal Rumble, he wrestled for forty seven minutes and fifty three seconds. He only does one workout, DDP YOGA. That’s the greatest testimony I can give to you.”

“There’s at least thirty guys who are doing it, whether it’s Dustin Rhodes or Ryback or Sandow, there’s a bunch of ‘em that are doing the workout. All the young kids are doing it, the guys that are coming up trying to get their break in the WWE Performance Center down there. So it’s pretty much across the board right now.”

On working with Heath Slater for the 1,000th episode of RAW: “I thought it was awesome. I love the kid. He was having the time of his life because he was a fan of all of us. So he couldn’t wait for the Vader Bomb or the Diamond Cutter. I mean he loved it. And he’s a good kid, he’s a damn good worker. I hope at some point he actually gets the push. He could back it up because he can talk and he can work.”

On fans hijacking shows with random chants: “I love it. (laughs) In a very different way, that’s what happened for me. The bookers weren’t doing shit with me. If you look at 1996, I work with Eddy, we had amazing matches together. But I also worked enhancement matches because that was most of the shit they gave me. The crowd though, watch a video called Diamond Cutters on Everyone. Just watch that video. It’s about four minutes long. And watch the people pop when I hit the Diamond Cutter and they pop a little more, a little more, and then a lot more, then a really lot more, then a fuckin’ crazy lot more. Ten thousand people in the building would jump to their feet because of all the ways I did the move, it came out of nowhere. You watch that video all the way through, go back and watch it, watch and see who I hit that on. Sting or Hogan or Nash? No, none of ‘em. It was all enhancement guys. So the crowd was with me crazy. WCW had to do something with me. And Daniel Bryan, a couple weeks back where he ended up on top of the cage doing the “Yes!”, holy shit. To me, that’s as over as I’ve ever seen anybody. It may be the most.”

WWE Threatens AAA With Lawsuit Over Sin Cara Gimmick, Update On The Name

  • Mick Foley Blog: Talks Poor RAW, Undertaker, Criticizes Usage Of Daniel Bryan

The following are highlights of a new blog on the official Facebook page of WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley:

On Monday’s RAW and Undertaker’s return: “About that RAW prediction? That “greatest RAW of the year” prediction? Well, it turns out I was wrong about that. As cool as it was to see The Undertaker, nonetheless, I was completely wrong.”

“Maybe it will all come together in the end. We’ll see. I’ll end this piece with some words from my post earlier today – a paragraph which apparently didn’t make much of a difference in the course of events.”

On WWE’s usage of Daniel Bryan: “But I think WWE needs to accept (PLEASE listen to me here, any WWE writer, exec, or power in charge) that the ability to turn the tide hinges on finding a way to make Daniel Bryan part of that main event. For me, personally, as a wrestler, a good feud was just as important as a title shot. But the WWE Universe has been on a personal journey with Daniel Bryan, and from the 1,000’s of messages I’ve read, not a single member of that Universe will feel that their journey is complete without Daniel getting a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania. PLEASE forget about the idea of Daniel Bryan vs Triple H, or Daniel Bryan vs Kane at Mania. They are both potentially great match-ups at a later time – but not for Mania. There are times when you really do need to give the people what they want…and this is one of them.”

Part 2 of his interview with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin premieres tomorrow (Wednesday).

    – One of the main technical difficulties fans have experienced with the WWE Network has been streaming footage from the Video on Demand library. WWE is well aware of the issue and has been working with MLB Advanced Media to get the issue resolved.

WWE tweeted that the issues are only affecting 20% of WWE Network users and everything should be resolved by 6pm (Eastern) later today.

Jim Ross Blog: Undertaker vs. Lesnar, Daniel Bryan-WM30, Fans Rejecting Batista

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what he said about Monday’s RAW:

Fans Rejecting Batista: “Getting way too much negative feedback here about how Batista is positioned as if it is Dave’s fault. It’s really no one’s ‘fault’ as sometimes talents are simply miscast … I have always thought that Batista, because of the Daniel Bryan phenomenon, was a better fit to be a villian but that’s easy to say now. I expect that to occur later this week on Smackdown.”

Daniel Bryan’s Role At WrestleMania: “Daniel Bryan wants HHH at WM30 but will that keep or make Bryan’s fans happy? Likely not. WWE has a golden opportunity to provide Bryan and his fans a ‘magical moment’ in the Mercedes Benz Super Dome come WM30. Time will tell if that happens. It seems too obvious that it should happen for it to not occur.”

Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar “The rumblings of Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar at WM30 was made official on RAW or that’s what I got out of it. I think that these two will exceed most fan’s expectations at WM30. Not sure I can tell you why but it’s merely a gut feeling that I have. I think that they keep it basic, physical and at an old school pace which isn’t plodding but one that fans can process and ‘feel’ what they are seeing.”

There’s much more to this blog, including JR’s thoughts on The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family, Hulk Hogan’s return, the WWE Network and next week’s RAW from Chicago.

John Cena’s Knee Injury Likely A Work

One of the big stories coming out of Monday’s RAW was that John Cena appeared to injure his knee during a brawl with The Wyatt Family. The injury appeared legit, with the Wyatt Family backing off Cena when he started grabbing his knee and Cena waving off WWE officials who attempted to check on him.

VIDEO of John Cena’s “Injury” On RAW

Several reputable sites (including f4wonline.com) reported that Cena was in fact injured, however, we’ve now learned that John Cena being stretchered out was actually written into the RAW script. The stretcher was ready to go even before Cena went out to the ring.

WWE hyped a “medical update” on John Cena for the RAW Backstage Pass show on the WWE Network, so this was basically done to encourage viewers to check out the WWE Network after RAW.

How To Get The WWE Network Working On Playstation

We received a few messages from readers about getting the WWE Network to work on Playstation.

    Charles L Sylvester wrote:

“In your article about the WWE Network difficulties you stated that people are complaining about the Playstation login being “broken”. I also was having this issue but I figured it out. I’m not sure if anyone else has reported this or not but it seems that in the login box they have the circle and X buttons switched. If you press circle to enter characters for username and password it will work and will not back out of the login screen (which is what circle would normally do). Hope this was of any help.”

    Bart wrote:

“Saw your article about continuing WWE Network issues. Thought I’d let you know the login box on Playstation works but for some weird reason you need to use circle instead of x when entering the letters. This makes no sense because circle is almost always delete in Playstation but I can do firm it worked. Credit to some guy on Reddit.”

WWE Network issues Continue, MLBAM Comments On WWE Network Demand

Many fans attempting to stream on-demand footage on the WWE Network are still experiencing difficulties as of Tuesday morning. The live 24/7 stream has been holding up much better, with much fewer fans reporting difficulties.

The major issue with WWE Network signups and content streaming thus far has been the overwhelming demand by fans trying to use the service.

MLBAM, the company that WWE partnered with to handle the back end logistics of the WWE Network, told Deadspin.com on Monday that they’ve never seen anything and the demand “exceeded anything we have seen in 14 years of doing e-commerce.”

Fans attempting to access the WWE Network on XBox 360 are saying that the login box is broken.

As for WWE’s internal reaction to the technical difficulties, there was no real outrage at WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, but the issues are essentially out of their hands. WWE is encouraging fans to tweet their issues or questions to @AskWWENetwork.

The Legendary Hulk Hogan Returns to WWE! YES!

The Legendary Hulk Hogan Returns to WWE! YES!

    Hulk Hogan Opens Up RAW
The big announcement earlier this week was of course the return of the Hulk Hogan, and how he will be The Host of WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans. What can be said about Hulk Hogan? He’s the Babe Ruth of wrestling, and icon and legend. He deserved to be in WWE in come capacity, and why on earth he was in TNA for as long as he was, I’ll never know. Wade Barrett took a verbal shot at hogan at The Elimination Chamber Pay Per Vew, and was no were to be seen on this show, so I can only wonder, if he will fill the role of Hogan’s Punching bag at WrestleMania XXX, time will tell.  YES!

Alberto Del Rio vs. BOOtista / Randy Orton Interrupts.
WWE is now starting to acknowledge that BOOtista is getting booed out of the building. Well it’s about time! How long can you go jamming someone down the audience’s throats that is clearly not connecting positively with the fans? Let me make myself clear, I don’t hate Batista, I hate the idea that WWE felt they needed Batista to fill some gap at WrestleMania XXX, and injected him into the Main Event, in spite of an organic rise of Daniel Bryan. Clearly a large portion, and not a vocal minority is in agreement with this sentiment. Batista is already starting to

BOOTista is going to WrestleMania XXX #DealWithIT NO!

BOOTista is going to WrestleMania XXX #DealWithIT NO!

lean towards heel tendencies, making a crying face, after his entrance, and his #DealWithIt catch phrase, is quite antagonizing. So Big Dave loses to Del Rio after Randy Orton distracts him. Orton acknowledges the recent crowd reception Batista is receiving. Batista responds while sweaty and slobbering all over, that the fans have a choice, and he’s okay with their choice. I’m just turned off to this story. I’d be happier if Batista went full on Heel and Batista Bombed the crap out of Daniel Bryan, get him in this story, because this is boring me, and even if they inject Daniel Bryan into the Main event, I’m not sure I can take 5 weeks of build up to Orton vs Batista.  NO!

WWE Intercontinental Championship Big E. (c) vs. Cesaro
The match was good, Ceasaro is definitely getting a face turn soon, and rightly so, there is a big drop off on faces, and I would argue to you he already is a face, based on the crowd reaction he’s getting, and his Ceasaro Swing. Looks like Jack Swaggar is going to be Cesaro’s opponent, eventually. YES!

John Cena Injured during his interaction with The Wyatts NO!

John Cena Injured during his interaction with The Wyatts NO!

John Cena Addresses The Wyatt Family
Thirty days after John Cena was screwed out of the WWE Championship at The Royal Rumble, and one night after he was screwed again from The Wyatts, John Cena finally decides to address the situation. He must have had that on his iPhone to-do list and kept forgetting to take care of this task. You know if the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is the most prized possession in sports entertainment, and they were combined because of your challenge to Randy Orton in December, you’d figure John Cena would have had have a bit more fire, than to wait 30 days. Bray Wyatt vs John Cena, has the potential to be a good story, and maybe even a good match, although Erick Rowan, may have changed the whole situation, because Cena appeared to be legitimately injured. Time will tell. I wouldn’t be terribly upset with a plan B of The Shield vs The Wyatts at WrestleMania. YES!

Sheamus with a Brogue Kick to Christian NO!

Sheamus with a Brogue Kick to Christian NO!

    Christian vs. Sheamus
Match was okay, nothing special in my opinion, but I must admit, it was just a match, and I was quite bored from it. Heavy rumor is Heel Sheamus vs Cesaro WrestleMania, I think that would be a good match. NO!

  • WWE Posts Update On John Cena’s Knee Injury From RAW

    The following is from WWE.com:

John Cena suffers knee injury at the hands of The Wyatt Family

GREEN BAY, Wisc. — John Cena’s knee was left battered and bruised after a vicious attack on Raw at the hands of all three members of The Wyatt Family. Following the brutal beatdown, the 14-time World Champion was taken to the locker room to be evaluated by WWE trainers.

At this time, WWE medical staff is unsure of the exact nature of the injury. After initial examination, they felt some instability and swelling in Cena’s knee, and recommended that the Cenation leader get an MRI. Initially, Cena refused further treatment.

On Raw Backstage Pass on WWE Network, ringside physician Dr. Chris Amann explained that John Cena felt something shift or give in his knee during the confrontation. While he refused treatment at first, Cena was transported to a local medical facility for more evaluation. Cena is still refusing to have an MRI done on his knee.

Bray Wyatt, pleased with the carnage caused by his monstrous family, ominously tweeted later in the night, “The golden calf has been sent out to pasture …Can you still see him?”

Undertaker returned to WWE at the conclusion of Monday’s RAW and confronted Lesnar, who was awarded an open contract to fight anybody at WrestleMania. Brock Lesnar signed the contract first and then gave Taker the pen. Paul Heyman told The Undertaker that to sign the contract if he wants the match. Undertaker took the pen and stabbed Lesnar’s hand with it, grabbed him by the throat and chokeslammed him right through the table that was set up in the ring. The crowd broke into a “holy sh*t” chant and Michael Cole said, “I take that as a yes.”

WrestleMania XXX takes place on Sunday, April 6th from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome from New Orleans, Louisiana.

    Hulk Hogan Opens Up RAW

The post-Elimination Chamber edition of WWE RAW opens with Hulk Hogan immediately coming out to the ring. Hogan talks about being home. He says 30 years ago he was part of something historic — the first WrestleMania. He says he’s part of something historic right now as well — the WWE Network. He talks about the past, present and future. He officially announces himself as the host of WrestleMania XXX. His final question for us? Whatcha gonna do when the WWE Network and WrestleMania 30 run wild on you? His music hits again and we shoot to the commentary table as Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and JBL talk some more about the WWE Network.

    What’s On Tap For Tonight?

Daniel Bryan vs. Kane, a possible Brock Lesnar appearance and Batista vs. Alberto Del Rio are announced for later tonight. Batista vs. Del Rio is coming up after the break. We head to our first commercial of the evening.

    Alberto Del Rio vs. Batista

When we return from commercial, Alberto Del Rio’s theme music hits. It’s time for the first match of the evening, as “The Animal” and “Mexico’s greatest export” compete in an Elimination Chamber rematch. Del Rio’s entrance wraps up and Batista is out next. The fans in Green Bay boo the hell out of Batista, proving yet again that it’s not just certain crowds, the “WWE Universe” in general wants to boo that dude.

The bell rings and Batista jumps all over Del Rio. The “Boo-Tista” chants immediately spread throughout the arena. It looks like that’s going to become a regular chant. Del Rio knocks Batista off the ring apron and out to the floor as we head to a mid-match commercial.

When we return from commercial, Del Rio is stomping away at Batista in the ring. He continues his attack on Batista as the announcers talk about the vicious streak in “Mexico’s greatest export,” a reference that they’ve said about two or three times already. They run down some current WWE-related trending topics on Twitter as Batista nails Del Rio with a top-rope suplex.

Both guys get back to their feet and start exchanging punches. The crowd boo’s everytime Batista lands a shot and cheers everytime Del Rio lands one. Del Rio knocks Batista down and is now waiting for him to get up. He goes for the superkick but misses it. Batista slams Del Rio down. He fires up and is calling for the Batista Bomb. The crowd boo’s. Out of nowhere, Randy Orton’s theme music hits. The crowd explodes with cheers. Del Rio uses the distraction to roll Batista up. 1-2-3. Del Rio wins.

    Winner: Alberto Del Rio

    After The Match

Orton gets on the mic and mocks Batista for the way the WWE Universe has reacted to his “triumphant return.” He says he doesn’t know if Batista can sense it or not, but the fans don’t like him very much. He says he bets Batista is sorry he came back. The crowd breaks out in a “CM Punk” chant. Batista says Orton is wrong. Batista says he loves this business. The crowd boo’s him like crazy anyway. He says he also loves that the fans have a voice. He says if the fans cheer him, he cheers them back. If they boo him, he boo’s them back. He says it’s called being real, something Orton knows nothing about. He says what matters is that he’s going to beat Orton and become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He concludes with his new “deal with it” catchphrase.

    WWE Intercontinental Championship
    Big E. (c) vs. Cesaro

Before we head to another commercial, we see a split-screen shot of Big E. and Cesaro backstage heading to the ring. The two guys who just got name-changes from WWE will battle after the break. When we return from commercial, the WWE Intercontinental Champion makes his way to the ring. Out next, accompanied by both Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger, is Cesaro.

The bell rings and immediately a loud “we the people” chant breaks out from what has seemed all night to be a pretty hot crowd. Big E. gets the better of Cesaro early on. Cesaro starts fighting back, but Big E. cuts his offense short by out-powering him over and over again. Big E. keeps pounding away on Cesaro until Cesaro finally slows him down with a big boot to the face. Cesaro is now taking over the offensive flow of the match.

Cesaro keeps Big E. grounded and is working him over on the mat as a light “we the people” chant breaks out again. Cesaro does his launching European uppercut on Big E. for a near fall. On that note, we head to a mid-match commercial.

When we return from commercial, Cesaro is still in control of Big E. Big E. gets up, however, and the two trade punches. Ultimately, Cesaro is able to remain in control of the current I-C champ. Cesaro hits his big double-stomp on the chest of Big E. Cesaro hits a number of power-moves on the I-C champ, including a big gut-wrench powerbomb.

Big E. starts fighting back now as both guys trade punches back-and-forth. Cesaro hops on Big E’s back and slaps on a sleeper-hold. Big E. is able to slam his way free. Big E. hits a belly-to-belly suplex and follows up with a big splash for a near fall. He takes the straps down. He goes for the Big Ending but Cesaro avoids it and counters into a launching European uppercut on the big man.

Big E. is down and now Cesaro is calling for the Cesaro Swing. Big E. manages to use his leg-strength to kick Cesaro off of him and avoid the swing. Another loud “we the people” chant breaks out. Cesaro ends up getting a hold of the legs of Big E. out of nowhere. He begins the Cesaro Swing. He swings hmi ten times. Out of nowhere, Swagger jumps in the ring and locks the Patriot Lock on Big E. The ref calls for the bell.
