Chris Jericho Says CM Punk Doesn’t Talk To Many People Who Thought They Were His Friends

Part-time WWE Superstar Chris Jericho recently appeared on the Sam Roberts podcast and spoke about the fact that CM Punk no longer keeps in contact with many people who thought they were his friends since he left WWE.

“Punk and I were pretty tight and I haven’t heard from him since then,” Jericho said. “I’m not surprised that he left, but I’m surprised that he stopped talking to everybody, stopped talking to me, because we talked about a lot of stuff beyond wrestling.”

Jericho continued, “And that kind of surprised me more than anything, he just detached himself. From what I understand, I’m not the only one, that he pretty much of detached himself from a lot of people who thought they were his friends, but that was him. Maybe he’ll come back and maybe he won’t. In 2005 I did the same, I left and couldn’t take it. I came back and was able to be way better than I ever was.”

The following are highlights of the latest Jim Ross blog:

On The Hardy Boys On The Ross Report: “Tuesday night a new Ross Report drops at 9 pm ET with Matt and Jeff Hardy joining me on one of my favorite shows involving two of my favorite people who I’ve seen grow up before my very eyes. Expect candid conversation and some laughs as well from the two, talented North Carolina brothers.”

On Bryan Alvarez On The Ross Report: “Also Tuesday I will be talking to both Bryan Alvarez about the new version of the ‘Death of WCW’ book along with talking to Karl Anderson about the January 4, 2015 Tokyo Dome event that we will both be a part of on PPV. The show will @BryanAlvarez and @Machinegunka Karl Anderson will air in late December. If you check out the homepage of this site you can see all our podcast guests that I’ve booked through January 2015.”

On Wrestle Kingdom 9: “For all of you that are asking, I do not make the final decision on who I will be working with on January 4th in Tokyo at Wrestle Kingdom 9. Several of you have made some great suggestions on twitter @JRsBBQ. Whoever it will be will be the best person available and I don’t expect any on air “bickering” to interrupt the matches. The PPV is about the wrestlers and not about the announcing. The talents make the music and the announcers add the lyrics or that’s how I see it. I said that this might be the best, pure wrestling PPV show that I’ve ever broadcast based on what I’ve seen online in my prep work. That question will be better addressed after January 4. I have high expectations for both the in ring product and my work describing it.”

  • Roman Reigns Returning To Action Next Month?

It looks like WWE Superstar Roman Reigns will be back in action next month, as the former Shield member is now being advertised for several live events in late December.

Reigns will challenge challenge Rusev for the United States Championship on WWE’s annual holiday tour, including 12/20 from Sioux Falls, South Dakota (the weekend after TLC) and 12/27 show from Cincinnati, Ohio.

Following his hernia surgery in September, WWE’s Dr. Chris Amann estimated that Reigns would be unable to return to training for approximately six weeks. Here’s how Dr. Amann described the injury:

“He was found to have a large hernia that was unable to be reduced, which means pushed back into the abdominal cavity. As a result, it was necessary to perform an emergent operation to open up the hernia sac and try and push it back into the abdominal cavity.”

“At the time of the surgery, surgeons found a loop of small intestine was caught in the hernia sac, which would account for the pain and discomfort that Roman was having earlier in the evening,” Dr. Amann explained. “The surgeons released the hernia sac so the intestine could be pushed back into the abdominal cavity. Once they were satisfied blood supply had returned to the intestine after releasing the hernia, they went ahead and completed the procedure. A mesh was placed over where the hernia had occurred to prevent future occurrences.”

    Team Authority Opens Up RAW

The WWE Survivor Series “go-home” edition of WWE RAW opens up with “Team Authority” making their way down to the ring to the tune of Triple H’s “King of Kings” theme song.

“The Game” begins by reminding everyone of the heavy-duty stipulation surrounding the “Team Cena” vs. “Team Authority” match at Survivor Series. From there, Stephanie McMahon hops on the mic and talks about how they’re going to win.

HHH talks about how the “WWE Universe” are all sheep. He reminds everyone that while they cheer for Vince McMahon now, it wasn’t too long ago when he was the “evil Mr. McMahon.” He says if Team Authority lose, the inmates will run the asylum. He says the last time the inmates ran the asylum was in a place called WCW, a company they picked up at an auction.

HHH and Steph promise that tonight, “Team Cena” will be decimated. He says there will be a contract signing tonight and we’ll see who’s left and who’s willing to sign on as part of Cena’s team.

After running down “Team Authority” one-by-one, Stephanie McMahon is interrupted by Ryback. Steph talks about how emotions ran high last week and they may have made some decisions that they regret. She says, “isn’t that right, Kane?” Kane says he regrets his actions.

Stephanie says they respect Ryback, but John Cena doesn’t. She says this footage will prove it. A clip airs of Cena cutting a promo on Ryback last year on a few different occasions, talking trash about him and mocking him.

Once the footage is done, Steph says the video speaks for itself. She says Cena is jealous of him. She asks if that is someone he can trust and go to battle with. She asks if he wants the contempt of Team Cena or the respect of Team Authority.

Ryback says he plays for the one team he can count on, and that’s Team Ryback. The fans don’t react at all as he walks away. You could literally hear a pin drop. HHH says it’s a wise decision and he’s smart to stay out of the fight. He says for everyone who is in the fight — the decimation starts now.

He tells Luke Harper to stay in the ring now. He says the decimation starts now. He makes a match between Harper and Dolph Ziggler. With that said, Ziggler’s music hits and out he comes.

    WWE Intercontinental Championship
Luke Harper vs. Dolph Ziggler (c)

Harper is in the ring and Ziggler is making his way to the ring. We head to a commercial. Harper vs. Ziggler is up next.

When we return from commercial, we see Seth Rollins sitting at ringside as a guest commentator for this match. Lilian Garcia announces that she was just informed during the break that this will be an Intercontinental Championship match.

Both guys are introduced and as soon as the introductions are done, Joey Mercury and Jaie Noble, who were at ringside with Rollins, hit the ring and jump Ziggler. Rollins joins in and blasts Ziggler with his Money In The Bank briefcase. The three leave the ring as Michael Cole informs us that the match hasn’t even started yet.

Ziggler takes a while, but finally crawls back to his feet. As soon as he does, the bell rings to make this one official. Harper then immediately blasts Ziggler with a big boot, covers him AND …Ziggler kicks out at two. Harper then hits a big seated powerbomb and covers him, but Ziggler again manages to kick out at two. On that note, we head to a mid-match commercial.

We’re back from the break and we see Harper still in firm control of the offense in this I-C title match with “The Show Off.” Out of nowhere, however, Ziggler nails Harper with a FameAsser. Harper still manages to kick out at two and then quickly takes over the offense once again. Out of nowhere, Harper launches Ziggler in the air and then blasts him with the big clothesline. 1-2-3. We have a new I-C champion, folks.

After the match, Rollins enters the ring and hits Ziggler with a Curb Stomp. From there, we head to another commercial break.

Winner and NEW WWE Intercontinental Champion: Luke Harper
