WWE Doctor Chris Amann Files Lawsuit Against CM Punk & Colt Cabana

WWE’s physician, Dr. Chris Amann, filed a lawsuit today in Cook County, Illinois against Phil Brooks (CM Punk) and Scott Colton (Colt Cabana) for comments the two made about him on Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast.

Amann’s claim is that both guys comments about him during their November podcast were untrue, defamatory and painted him in a false light by improperly insinuating that he had a lack of integrity and incompetence as a medical doctor.

The WWE doctor is seeking in excess of one million dollars in compensatory damages, as well as punitive damages.

In particular, Amann claimed that Punk impugned his reputation by saying he had misdiagnosed a fatty deposit on his back and ignored his requests to remove it, a deposit that Punk went on to claim ended up turning into life-threatening MSRA.

Amann claims that he was never asked by Punk to treat any lump or remove anything off of his back, and that Punk never showed him any such lump, nor did he prescribe him any antibiotics for it as Punk claimed.

Additionally, he is claiming that Cabana aided in falsely depicting him as a lazy and/or incompetent doctor. Furthermore, he claimed both men knowingly fabricated the false and disparaging statements about him.

Jim Ross Blog: Samoa Joe/WWE, Wrestling Romances, WrestleMania Weekend Show

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross recently updated the blog section of his official website. Below are highlights:

On Samoa Joe: “Lots of questions about Samoa Joe leaving TNA and where I think that Joe will end up. I don’t know the answer to that question but I can say that I’m a fan of Joe’s work and that I feel that he will stay as busy as he chooses to be. Joe could be a valuable asset to WWE as it relates to working with young talents who need to work with someone better than them to learn. Sometimes change can be a good thing for all involved. Nonetheless I can see how Samoa Joe, put in the proper role, could be an asset to WWE.”

On wrestling romances: “Just because it seems to be getting more topical of late and from my own experience as an administrator, ‘wrestling romances’ are challenging to make work. While there are notable exceptions to that rule where two parties that are both in the biz have had successful, personal relationships, most of these star crossed romances generally fail. I’m not being a naysayer only a realist. I had too many meetings with those on the roster who needed couple’s therapy of which is tough to deliver.”

On his one-man show during WrestleMania weekend: “Excited to be bringing our RINGSIDE w/ Jim Ross Show to San Jose the Saturday afternoon before WrestleMania at the Rockbar Theater with a 1-3 pm event. The VIP meet and greet function runs from 11 am-1 pm and tickets for our only event during WM31 go on sale THIS Saturday at 10 am pacific time at ticketweb.com. Tickets start at $20 while the VIP tickets are $65. Tickets are limited so I’d suggest that you get your’s early starting with Saturday’s on sale at ticketweb.com. Let’s grill…”

Randy Orton Returning Soon, WWE Responds To Wrongful Death “Lawsuit”

– Randy Orton is expected back on WWE television in the next week or so. He returned to action at a live event earlier this month (Photos) and is being factored in to creative plans for WrestleMania. It’s worth noting that WWEShop.com just released a new RKO t-shirt based on the “RKO Out of Nowhere” meme that went viral late last year.

– WWE has responded to reports that Big Daddy V’s widow Cassandra Frazier has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the company. WWE claims they haven’t been served:

“WWE has not been served with a lawsuit by Cassandra Frazier. If served, we will vigorously contest this lawsuit brought by the same lawyers who have been soliciting people to sue WWE without merit.”

– There has been talk in WWE of Kevin Nash being part of the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2015.

Stewart says Rollins screwed up when he turned his Shield brothers and aligned himself with The Authority, but slandering The Daily Show was the biggest mistake of his life.

Bobby Fulton Trashes Vince McMahon, Asks Fans To Contact WWE’s Sponsors

Pro wrestling legend Bobby Fulton, who is best known as one-half of the former tag-team known as The Fantastics, ripped into Vince McMahon and WWE in a new blog posted recently via social media.

Fulton posted the following on his official Facebook page after McMahon’s recent Muscle & Fitness magazine cover was released:

“Vince sure is ripped. He’s a master of ripping people off, like all the wrestlers like me from the territory days. He stole our likeness, who we are, and our intellectual property of our matches. WWE has admitted they don’t have any of our signed releases most don’t get a dime for DVD’s sold in major stores world wide and online or The WWE Network. Come on Vince really man up pay up. Scott Ammon said you paid a lot for libraries of video from World Class, Mid South, UWF and other regions. Please share this and let WWE know its time to pay up!”

“If you buy an album from the 70s or 80s the artist and song writers are still paid. Even though the work was done decades ago. Same with movies and TV shows. So why not pay the wrestlers of my era for the DVDs of our work that are being sold in major retail stores world wide? A select few are being paid. Why not all of us? If they feel we are important enough to be on those DVDs and The Network then we should be important enough to have a fair share for everyone. I’m not bitter. I had a great career. Not all of us ended up like Randy The Ram even though they try to make you think that. I have been successful in other business ventures. I like many others have had life after wrestling. We are only asking for it to be fair across the board. If wrestler A is being paid for videos of matches against wrestler B. Should not wrestler B also be paid? Fair is Fair.”

Additionally, Fulton originally posted these comments as well, however they were later deleted from the blog.

“Please share to all Wrestling related groups and pages! And let WWE know! This is the time to let our voices be heard. For those that are appearing on merchandise that has lost their health, their families, and some their lives. The problem is he wants to pay for the future by ripping off the past, he has once said that the past didn’t exist. If Egypt can be overturned and changed so can Vince McMahon and so can his WWE empire. Let your voices be heard and help us to let ours be heard! … As people got behind us years ago. Get behind us one more time. Support us in this effort. We just got it up on the WWE page. Please go there and share my post on Vince’s Muscle Body and Fitness. It gives us the power! ?#?WWEPAYUSNOW?! … I’m getting lots of questions one i spoke with wwe scott ammon he said we could beat WWE on a state level for stealing our likeness, name, intellectual property . Wwe scott ammon said we will beat you in court on a federal level . He said we paid certain people Lots of money . Problem is you paid the wrong people . Its time to pay up the talent not just top names but also the refs enhancement and announcers that is being distributed by WWE. They have no signed releases . Even scott ammon told me that . Help us in our plight your voice is heard and does count . Be silent no longer . Deflate Vince McMahon now! Go to WWE’s page and tell them to pay the wrestlers the royalties that owe them. If they are on merchandise for example the network or dvds. That is how to voice your opinion! If you want to help us you can contact the following sponsors and tell them what WWE has been doing: General Motors, Ford Motor Co., Disney, DreamWorks, Paramount, Kmart, Subway, Taco Bell, Colgate, Frito-Lay, Schick and Mattel.”

Grado Launches Social Media Campaign To Try And Use A Madonna Song For His Entrance

TNA performer Grado (aka Graene Stevely) has launched a social media campaign with the goal of convincing pop artist Madonna to allow him to use her song, “Like A Prayer” for his pro wrestling ring entrance.

“This Friday on American telly I was getting the go-ahead for my match with Al Snow from The Hydro [in Glasgow] to be shown in full, with the “Like A Prayer” entrance — I was over the moon,” wrote Grado on his official Facebook page.

Grado noted that he received an email stating that the song was “denied on behalf of Madonna.” He would follow that up by launching the aforementioned social media campaign called the “#SayYesMadonna” campaign.

Big Daddy V’s Widow Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against WWE

Cassandra Frazier, widow of the late Nelson Frazier Jr., (Big Daddy V, Viscera) has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against WWE on the one-year anniversary of his passing.

The lawsuit states that WWE did not warn its’ performers about concussions or head injuries, and states that the company allowed Frazier to wrestle with pneumonia despite the fact that he suffered from diabetes, an enlarged heart and obesity.

Frazier’s lawsuit plays on similar themes of other lawsuits filed against WWE by the likes of Billy Jack Haynes and Big Vito LoGrasso.

WWE has yet to comment on the lawsuit.

Ethan Carter III Talks WWE vs. TNA, Meeting Vince McMahon & More

TNA wrestler Ethan Carter III recently spoke with Glenn Moore and Steve Guy on the “This Is Awesome Wrestling Show” to talk about WWE vs. TNA and other topics.

Below are highlights from the interview:

On the freedom he has in TNA compared to WWE: “Doing things like indies or any sort of outside appearances, stuff of that nature, what’s cool about TNA you can build yourself as a brand and they allow it. You’re not their property as much as your own businessman. I can get gigs. I can be doing a TV commercial where I’m cleaning a toilet, and they would be totally cool with it and think that’s fun. As opposed, elsewhere (WWE), where I can use my celebrity to do something great and they shoot it down because they don’t profit off it. TNA is awesome.”

On being able to work indy promotions, as well as TNA: “Indies are cool, because there are fans that love wrestling. It’s always fun and it’s a different environment. I don’t want to say that wrestling on TV isn’t fun, because I’m a dude on TV and I’m having fun every time I wrestle on TV because I always win.

There’s a little more freedom to experiment in matches you’re doing on the indies. I think it’s cool because you get to satisfy your career and your need to be on TV with TNA, plus on the weekend if you want to go out there and do something, that’s cool too. I could go put a wig on and wrestle as Elvis Carter the Third, and that would be funny.”

On meeting Vince McMahon for the first time: “Well, this is ironic, Vince McMahon loved me and he loved my crazy hair. And we did some awful cologne commercial; that was the Mark Henry Cologne. He produced and wrote every bit of that segment. And he laughed hysterically when we were doing it. So, he thought it was awesome. Then, I was never on Raw again. So I guess it wasn’t that good. But I have nothing but respect and the guy was cool. He was always a straight shooter. I can’t say that about everyone in that company, but Vince will always tell you like it is.”

On the difference between working in WWE and TNA: “It’s a little more relaxed. No walking on eggshells. There’s not the constant fear of people going to stab you in the back for their personal gain, because for some reason, that’s the atmosphere that is bred in WWE sometimes.

It’s relaxed, it’s cool. They were very welcoming, especially being a new guy, which is hard coming in as a new person. Everyone was nothing but cool to me. I have great friends in WWE, still do, but TNA is more of a brotherness. ”

Vince McMahon Talks About WWE After He’s Gone, His Favorite Superstar

The latest issue of Muscle & Fitness Magazine with Vince McMahon on the cover featured a lengthy interview with the WWE Chairman & CEO.

When asked about the future of WWE if he retires or goes up to that “big ring in the sky,” Vince said WWE will be fine (what else would he say?) despite the fact that “no one person” can do everything he does.

“Our future from a corporate standpoint is extremely strong because we have so many talented executives, and they all bring different strengths to the table. Steph and Paul will certainly have significant roles going forward. I think when I kick, the organization is going to change, and I think for the better, because there’s no one person who can do all that I can do because of my background. There’s no one individual who’s going to take my place.”

McMahon said his favorite WWE Superstar is The Undertaker:

“…because of his loyalty, his longevity, and his extraordinary commitment to his character. We have lots of fun creating fun. [Superstars] try to crack each other up from time to time, and we all have tried to get Undertaker to break character, and we can’t do it. He is such a professional and an extraordinary human being behind the character. He’s committed to his craft and has worked through his injuries.”

Other topics discussed are his Mr. McMahon character and his workout regimen. The new issue of Muscle & Fitness is on newsstands now.

Kevin Owens Interview, The Rock Presenting At Academy Awards & More
