– A dark segment took place backstage that saw Seth Rollins appear on the screen and talk crap about the local city, since he’s from here, to try and get the fans to boo him when he comes out later. It definitely didn’t work as it was airing, as the fans cheered him anyways.

– Seth Rollins def. Dean Ambrose in the final match of the taping. Rollins won in a fairly clean style with his new finishing move. Roman Reigns ended up making the save after the match as Rollins was still working over Ambrose. The taping ended on that note.

The 2015 WWE King Of The Ring special opens up with a video package showing highlights of several past King Of The Ring tournaments. From there, we shoot live into the arena where we are welcomed by Michael Cole on commentary.

After that, Jerry “The King” Lawler is introduced. He comes out with the King Of The Ring crown and stands at the top of the stage with a microphone. He welcomes us all to the KOTR tournament exclusively on the WWE Network. He talks about the four Superstars who advanced to tonight’s semi-finals.

Backstage: Sheamus Interview

Backstage, Sheamus is interviewed. He talks about the King Of The Ring and about how he’s going to win it. He closes by saying just like Dolph Ziggler, when he wins the KOTR, everyone can “Kiss Me Arse.”

Backstage: Neville Interview

From there, we shoot to Renee Young, who is with Neville. He talks about how crazy it is that he just debuted in the WWE and he’s already close to becoming the King Of The Ring.

King Of The Ring Semi-Finals
– Sheamus vs. Neville

Sheamus’ theme hits and out he comes for our first of two semi-final matches tonight here at the WWE King Of The Ring 2015 live special on the WWE Network. After Sheamus makes his way out, out comes Neville.

The bell rings and the bigger Sheamus immediately starts to physically bully Neville around the ring, pushing him into the corners. Neville starts firing away with kicks and quick offense, trying to speed up the pace so he has a better chance, but ultimately, Sheamus slows him down and starts to take over control of the contest.

Sheamus dominates the action for a while, including knocking Neville off the ring apron and onto the announce table and hitting him with White Noise. Then, out of nowhere, Dolph Ziggler makes his way out to distract Sheamus. When Sheamus turns around, Neville knocks Sheamus down with a kick. He goes to the top for his Red Arrow finisher and hits it. 1-2-3.

Winner: Neville

After The Match:

After the match, Ziggler congratulates Neville. He tells Sheamus there was a stipulation for their match and now he’s here to collect. He hits the ring and starts beating up Sheamus, but Sheamus manages to escape up the ramp. Sheamus ends up coming back in the ring and both guys start brawling. During the brawl, Sheamus’ eye gets split open badly. Really badly. 100 referees hit the ring and finally break things up.

King Of The Ring Semi-Finals
– R-Truth vs. Bad News Barrett

After a bunch of plugs from the announcers and commercials and stuff, the WWE Network returns back live to the King Of The Ring special. R-Truth’s music hits and out he comes for this, our second of two semi-final matches. Out next is his opponent for tonight, Bad News Barrett.

The bell sounds and here we go. Immediately Barrett takes control with a big boot to the face. He knocks him out to the floor and beats him up a bit outside of the ring before continuing to punish him back inside the ring.

R-Truth gets some hope spots and then a mini-comeback, although it isn’t long before Barrett takes over again. Barrett hits Truth with his Bull Hammer Elbow. 1-2-3. We have our second of two finalists now.

Winner: Bad News Barrett

CM Punk On WWE: “It Doesn’t Mean Anything. It’s Fake.”

Former WWE Superstar CM Punk took part in a Q&A session on Sunday at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo.

When asked about a potential return to pro wrestling, Punk had some harsh words about his experience in WWE. For someone who boasted that he was the “Best In The World” for so long, it’s obvious that Punk has moved on.

“I just couldn’t do it any more. I didn’t make any sense to me. I would put my boots on and shuffle my feet and walk out there and be like, ‘I don’t even know. It doesn’t mean anything. It’s fake.’”

Punk also shot down rumors of his wife AJ Le being pregnant, stating, “Nope, no truth to that.”

As for his MMA career, Punk said he’s focused on winning fights and having fun. He’s not thinking about capturing a championship at this point.

Punk also broke the news that he’ll writing for Marvel’s “Drax” series. He joked, “So now I’m fighting, writing comic books, doing all kinds of stuff. I think now I’m going to do an off Broadway show next.”

You can see video of Punk’s Q&A at Twitch.com (around the 1-hour mark).

WWE Pulls Daniel Bryan From All Advertised Appearances On Live Events & PPVs

As reported last night, WWE provided a health update on Daniel Bryan during RAW. Now, we have some more information.

It was reported over the weekend that Bryan was pulled from his scheduled match at Extreme Rules, as well as the advertising for Monday’s post-pay-per-view edition of RAW and Tuesday’s SmackDown television tapings, however he remained listed for this weekend’s WWE non-televised live events.

We can now officially confirm that Bryan has been pulled from any and all advertising for all of WWE’s live events and pay-per-views.

While we don’t have a lot of specific information regarding Bryan’s condition, the fact that he is being pulled from so many dates is not an encouraging sign.

Damien Sandow’s New Gimmick, Sandow Thanks Fans

With the Damien Mizdow character now retired, Damien Sandow addressed the WWE Universe on RAW and spoke about his career in WWE up until this point. After debuting as the Intellectual Savior, Sandow says he was told that he was “entertaining enough.” He’d later go on to imitate various WWE personalities before becoming The Miz’s stunt double. Sandow thanked fans for their support and said his connection with the WWE Universe is what it’s all about.

Sandow was interrupted by Curtis Axel and began imitating Axel, which looks to be Sandow’s new act. He tweeted the following after his promo on last night’s WWE RAW:

https://twitter.com/TheDamienSandow/status/592948102513885184

Sandow was interviewed by Renee Young after RAW and continued to imitate her as well.

During Neville’s match with Luke Harper, JBL commented that Neville could become the first “high-flying” King of the Ring. “Of course Owen was a high-flyer, but not like this,” JBL said.

Booker T then responded, “He couldn’t defy gravity,” a reference to Neville’s ‘man who gravity forgot’ moniker.

A lot of fans criticized Booker T on Twitter for the comment, noting that it was insensitive due to Owen’s tragic fatal incident. In response to the backlash, Booker T tweeted:

Jim Ross Blog: Samoa Joe To WWE?, Roman Reigns’ Future, Extreme Rules Thoughts

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross has updated his official blog with lots of thoughts on Sunday’s WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view. Below are some highlights:

On Samoa Joe: “Next week on the Ross Report I will have a provocative conversation with @SamoaJoe who some feel is headed to WWE sooner than later. It would take me about 10 minutes to sign Joe if I were still in my old, talent relations role in WWE.”

On Roman Reigns: “Roman Reigns is on track to become what WWE wants him to be. I believe in this athlete and feel that he simply needs time and not to be force fed the audience and he will end up being the star that WWE wants/needs. Reigns match with Big Show was a pleasant surprise and arguably the best match on the show.”

On the Extreme Rules main event: “I’m not a fan of escaping the cage as a way of winning a cage match but that’s not the talent’s issue. Orton and Rollins worked hard but it was too predictable that multiple outside parties were going to get involved in the conclusion of the match. Some fans and apparently many in the decision making business of the overall wrestling biz feel that a loss is damning for a talent a takes them down too many notches. Obviously, I don’t share totally in that philosophy.”

On Sheamus: “Sheamus is on track to become a hit as a villain if he continues to perfect the nuances necessary to do so. He’s a big, bully of a man who seems to enjoy his bad guy positioning. His match with Ziggler provided me with a surprising outcome. Thought the ass kissing phase went a little long but in the end, no pun intended, Ziggler got a win and has an issue while Sheamus left with heat. Good for both.”

Daniel Bryan Health Update, Still Not Medically Cleared

WWE provided a health update on Daniel Bryan during Monday’s RAW. Michael Cole acknowledged Bryan being pulled from Extreme Rules announced on RAW that Bryan still has not been medically cleared to return.

They cut to Renee Young interviewing Brie Bella backstage. Brie said its been a heart wrenching time for Daniel. After his cinderella story last year at WrestleMania, his injuries weigh on both of them. Brie got emotional and said Daniel Bryan wants to be there, but his health comes first.

While Brie was cutting the promo, Naomi grabbed her face, shoved her to the ground and said nobody cares about her or her husband. • More On The WWE “Behind The Curtain” ESPN Documentary

WWE has released additional details on their upcoming “Behind The Curtain documentary, which is scheduled to air on Tuesday, May 5th at 8pm EST. The following synopsis was released this week. The trailer for the documentary can be seen above.

E:60 Pictures presents WWE: Behind-The-Curtain, a new one-hour documentary film featuring unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to Vince McMahon’s billion-dollar global empire. The show will follow three amateur wrestlers on their grueling, high-stakes climb with dreams of making it to the big show, complemented by candid interviews with WWE President Vince McMahon, his Executive Vice President of Talent Development, Paul Levesque (or ‘Triple H’) as well as former WWE talents Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock – Dwayne Johnson, and Hulk Hogan. The result is an inside look into what is perhaps the greatest spectacle in sports entertainment – with its extravagant productions, flagrant drama, and sold-out arenas.

With flagship show Monday Night RAW drawing four million viewers per week, storied WWE owner and CEO Vince McMahon reveals the reason behind the brand’s success: “Talent is the only natural resource we have, without it we have nothing. There’s no product. There’s no shows. There’s no anything.”

For decades, McMahon and WWE have created some of the most iconic characters in pop culture — Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock and John Cena.

But before they become household names, WWE characters are carefully developed in a minor league system, NXT – led by WWE icon and current Executive Vice President of Talent Development, Paul Levesque, aka, “Triple H”. It is a backstage world no one has ever had access to – until now.
