The Authority, Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns Kick Off RAW

This week’s show opens up with a lengthy Memorial Day video package. After that, we shoot live inside the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, where we hear a loud “U.S.A.!” chant. Eden then asks us to stand in silence for those who have defended our country. They do a ten bell salute.

Following the holiday stuff, we shoot to the regular RAW opening video. From there, “King of Kings” plays and out comes The Authority — Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Kane, Seth Rollins and J&J Security. As they make their way to the ring, on commentary, Michael Cole talks about The Authority having a beef with Dean Ambrose.

As the guys make their way to the ring, we see highlights of Dean Ambrose forcing Stephanie McMahon to give him a title shot. Once the crew makes their way into the ring, Rollins immediately starts complaining about the situation.

Rollins mentions that Ambrose forced The Authority’s hand last week. He tells them that they could take the title shot away from him and they could even fire him. Rollins says they could have done that, but Rollins asked them not to.

As Triple H talks about how all Ambrose needs to do to make the title match official is sign the contract, Ambrose’s theme hits. Out he comes. The fans immediately break out into loud “Ambrose! Ambrose!” chants.

After a big Justin Bieber speech, Rollins rants about how Ambrose is a cockroach and dares him to come to the ring and simply sign the contract. Ambrose drops the mic and makes his way to the ring.

As soon as Ambrose makes his way to ringside, Roman Reigns’ theme hits and out he comes through the crowd as usual.

Ambrose and Reigns remain outside the ring as Stephanie informs Dean that he has until the end of the night to sign the contract and make his Elimination Chamber title match official. She says for now, however, she’s going to make a main event. It will be Kane & Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns. She informs us that the match will take place right now. We head to our first commercial break of the evening.

Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins & Kane

When we return from the break, all four guys are inside the ring and our “main event” — otherwise known as the opening match of the evening — is officially underway. Kane and Reigns go at it with Reigns knocking Kane to the corner.

“The Big Red Machine” battles back and goes for a suplex but Reigns counters with one of his own. Ambrose tags in for some double teaming. Ambrose goes to work on the arm but Kane pushes him to the corner and Rollins comes in. Ambrose kicks Rollins and tags in Reigns for a double team clothesline. Reigns takes Rollins down with a headlock now. They end up on the floor and Rollins takes control off a distraction when Kane and J&J get involved. Kane rolls Reigns back in and Rollins covers for 2. Rollins keeps Reigns grounded but fans chant for Ambrose.

Ambrose finally gets a tag and unloads on Rollins. Ambrose with a bulldog and a clothesline over the top. Ambrose runs the ropes and dives out onto Rollins. Kane comes over but Reigns rocks him. We go to commercial with Reigns and Ambrose standing tall in the ring. Back from the break and they still have Ambrose down.

“The Lunatic Fringe” eventually hits a huge clothesline on Rollins and Reigns tags in as Kane does. Reigns unloads and hits clotheslines in the corner. He knocks Mercury off the apron. Noble takes a Superman punch. Kane drops Reigns with a big boot. Kane calls for a chokeslam but Reigns blocks it with elbows.

Kane with a big right hand. Ambrose tags himself in as Reigns hits a Superman punch on Kane. Ambrose with the top rope elbow drop for a 2 count as Rollins breaks the pin. Rollins tags in and springboards with a knee to Ambrose’s face for a 2 count. Rollins blocks Dirty Deeds. Ambrose comes back but misses the big clothesline. They trade holds and Ambrose pins Rollins with a back slide.

Winners: Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns

Backstage: Renee Young Interviews Dean Ambrose

Backstage, Renee Young is with Dean Ambrose. Ambrose talks a bit until J&J Security walks up and gets in his face. Ambrose smacks Noble and starts fighting both guys until he accidentally knocks a camera man down and seems worried about that.

Ric Flair On Undertaker’s Legacy, Memories Of Randy Savage, A Possible In-Ring Return

WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair recently spoke with the folks at the Inside The Ropes podcast about a number of topics. Below are some highlights from the interview.

On his recent comments about getting back in the ring: “Physically I’m more than capable but it’s a cosmetic issue now so I’d need time to prepare. I’ve always wanted to manage Dolph Ziggler but ya know if they were to ask me to get back in the ring tomorrow my answer would be yes and I could work with anybody. I’ve actually worked with Ziggler before when he was in the group (Spirit Squad) I love all those kids. I think I’ve had enough of Brock Lesnar, I don’t think I could do that one again. I don’t think I could take 17 German suplexes. I could work with any of the kids but I don’t think that’s going to happen, I just meant I’m physically cleared to go out there and bounce around or drop an elbow on a sports coat. I’d love to be a part of it again.”

On The Undertaker’s legacy and saluting Flair during his retirement: “First of all, I think the world of him personally. He’s a wonderful person. On top of being one of the top ten performers of all time, he’s got the greatest gimmick in the history of the business. When I first started coming to Europe with him in the 90’s, I had no idea. There were ten thousand people dressed up like The Undertaker. I had no idea how much of an impact he made over here. I was very surprised he did that. Not because he doesn’t respect me but he just doesn’t come out in public. You know you’re never gonna see him at the front row at the Hall of Fame. He’s backstage listening to every work. It’s not that he’s not in attendance, he’s back there with Vince. He’s a wonderful guy.”

On his memories of his match with Randy Savage at WrestleMania 8: “It’s funny because it was just an average match. There was so much tension at that time between Randy and Liz. As a matter of fact, that was the last time they were together, they split the next day. It was just very uncomfortable. Not working with Randy or Liz individually, they’re great people but there was just tension between them and that was the last time they worked together there. I thought the match was OK but it could’ve been better and it wasn’t out individual abilities there was just a lot going on behind the scenes that people weren’t aware of. I felt bad. I was honored to be a part of it and be in a main event at WrestleMania but there was so much going on behind the scenes that I felt bad for everybody involved. Not for me, but they were going their separate ways and it was difficult. He cared for her a great deal.”

Celebrity At RAW Tonight, WWE Pulls Controversial T-Shirt From WWE Shop, More

– WWE has pulled Hideo Itami and Becky Lynch t-shirts from their WWE Shop website. The Lynch shirts in particular read “Lass Kicker,” which caused some negative feedback on social media, and was likely part of the reason they were pulled.

– R-Truth is featured on the latest edition of WWE’s “Canvas 2 Canvas” web show. You can check that out below.

Jim Ross Blog: Sunny Porn Rumors, TNA/Destination America, Kevin Owens

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross recently updated his official blog with some of his latest thoughts and comments. Below are some of the highlights.

On tonight being the last ever RAW at Nassau Coliseum: “Hard to believe that after all these years that this will be the last Monday Night RAW ever held at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island, New York. This arena has amazing significance in WWE history and certainly was one of my favorite arenas in which to work largely because of it’s heritage plus it was a nice, easy drive from my home in Connecticut back in the day. I hope the fans that are in attendance know the significance of tonight and I’d love to see WWE show some Nassau Coliseum highlights throughout the three hour broadcast. I’ve already set my DVR to watch the show later tonight.”

On the TNA/Destination America situation: “Still confounded about the debacle that is the TNA/Destination America train wreck and still awaiting something from the network that apparently isn’t renewing TNA come September. I hope that the promotion is keeping their talents and the talent’s families informed as to what is going on regarding this unfortunate matter. Leadership at the top in both organizations is crucial during these days as rumors and finger pointing seemingly is running rampant. Unfortunately, it seems as if TNA is at yet another crossroads and I’m hoping that they come out on the ‘other side’ better than they were when this matter exploded last week.”

On Kevin Owens and John Cena: “If there is another John Cena and Kevin Owens segment tonight on RAW, and obviously there has to be, Owens needs to retain his ‘heat’. He’s not ‘over’ yet and needs momentum going into the Elimination Chamber. Loved what I saw out of these two last week.”

On Tammy Sytch porn rumors: “Contrary to what some have asked me on Twitter @JRsBBQ I have not been conversing with Sunny on Twitter about the possibility her doing porn. That ‘s a faux JR Twitter account she thought was me, apparently. We haven’t communicated since her WWE HOF induction and I find it none of my business if she does or does not decide to make a porn movie. It’s not against the law and people have to do what they can to earn a honest living. It’s an undesirable trait of many in the entertainment businesses that performers get themselves into a situation that they have to do things that they normally might not do to pay their bills after their ‘run’ has concluded. It takes me back to my ‘Plan B’ philosophy that so many talents rolled their eyes at when I used to preach that philosophy. Nonetheless, I wish Sunny the best no matter what her decision might be.”

Samoa Joe Talks About His Decision To Leave TNA

NXT star Samoa Joe appeared as a guest on Live Audio Wrestling this past Sunday evening to promote his appearance for Smash Wrestling in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Saturday, June 6th. Below are some highlights from the interview.

On his decision to leave TNA: “I think the decision was made in the final few weeks. I’ve often been called by people loyal to a fault, and I didn’t feel the mission was accomplished in TNA yet. I’d done my best throughout my career to help try to build the company and bring it into prominence. It’s had its ups and down and pitfalls here and there, and I don’t feel that job was finished yet. Towards the end there, there were some apparent things and incidents that kinda showed me that maybe it was time for me to move on and maybe it was better for me, both personally and professionally, to explore other options and explore other things. I’ve gotta admit, I’m not unhappy with my decision. I’m unhappy that I didn’t get the opportunity to kinda finish out what I wanted to start in TNA, but at the same time, so many great things have popped up since that I’m very, very satisfied with the decision that I made.”

On TNA’s identity as a promotion during his tenure: “I think at times TNA did have a defined identity, but the identity wasn’t really supported, and it was restarted in favor of something else they thought would be somewhat better or was pitched to them as being better. With the X-Division being what it was, the level of athleticism and the guys we had prominent in the company at the time, it very much did have an identity. And then somewhere along the line, that identity was kind of pushed to the background in favor of trying to be something that I feel it never should have gone to be. TNA was unique in that it had a very high-level athletic style, and at times I felt it was trying to be transformed into something more sports entertainment-ish, when we were definitely an alternative to that particular kind of style. As time when on, it ebbed and flowed, and it’ll come to the surface and then it’ll be pushed to the background. Wrestlers were cycled in and out, and creative teams were regularly cycled in and out. That’s I think where the identity started to get muddled.”

Axl Rotten Asking Fans For Help With Medical Bills, Could End Up Wheelchair Bound For Life

A wrestling fan has set up a GoFundMe account for former ECW star Axl Rotten and due to mentions from Jim Ross and Chris Jericho, the account has raised $1,055 of the $12,000 goal in just three weeks.

Rotten had an issue with his back in October of 2014 and since then he has been hospitalized at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland to receive daily physical therapy.

Rotten originally hoped he could continue his wrestling career and walk again, however doctors have since told him that surgery is unavoidable. Rotten is in need of two spinal surgeries and if they are not a success, he could spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.

The reason fans are rallying around Rotten for financial help is due to the fact that the former ECW star has exhausted all of his medical coverage, and because he can’t work.

In addition to the medical bills, the GoFundMe account is seeking funds to help make his home wheelchair accessible for when he leaves the hospital.

The GoFundMe page notes that Rotten is clean of all non-medically prescribed drugs and that he is ” both emotionally and mentally in the best place he has been in years, Unfortunately he is though physically at his lowest ebb.”

Rotten recently tweeted the following about his current situation. For those who would like to contribute to his GoFundMe account, click here.

Roman Reigns, R-Truth & Jimmy Uso “Crash” Wedding Ceremony In Syracuse

Celebrity-gossip website TMZ has a new article up today about three WWE Superstars randomly “crashing” a wedding ceremony in Syracuse, New York on Saturday evening.

Roman Reigns, R-Truth and Jimmy Uso were at a hotel bar in Syracuse when they heard the reception and made their way in. The couple being married, Matt and Beth Samuels, are big WWE fans that knew the company was in the area, so they sent an e-mail inviting any WWE Superstars to stop by.

According to the article, Reigns, Truth and Uso had no knowledge of the e-mail, but just randomly stopped by anyways. The article claims the trio stuck around and had fun at the wedding for about 45 minutes.

Kane On What He Would Say To Isaac Yankem Of 1995, His Current Character & More

Longtime WWE performer Kane recently spoke with Alfonso Castillo of Newsday to promote WWE’s final live event at the world-famous Nassau Coliseum.

Below are some highlights of the interview.

On if he could imagine in 1995 that 20 years later he would still be with WWE and featured prominently: “I’m so close to it, but when I take a step back, yeah. I’m not sure what the average career span of a WWE superstar is, but I’ve exceeded that by a long way. Early on, I had some rough times, but I was able to overcome that and, as you said, be on top or close to the top for 17 years to this point. It’s pretty cool when I take a step back and think about it.”

On what the Kane of 2015 would say to the Isaac Yankem of 1995: “I would tell him that he needs to have some confidence, because he could actually do it. I think that’s true of a lot of young guys. I was so star-struck that it was a really difficult transition for me. I would also tell him, as well as the Kane of 1997, to enjoy things, because the time does go by so quickly. When I think about it, 20 years really seems like a blink of an eye sometimes. I wish I would have made a more concerted effort to enjoy things along the way. You get to a level like that and you get so caught up in things, and then twenty years is over and it’s like, ‘Wow. Where did all that time go?'”

On if he’s glad he can shed some of the character and be himself with the current incarnation of Kane: “Yes, I am. And I realize a lot of people aren’t particularly fond of this character, because they want to see the masked Kane. Some people even say, “You ruined the character.”A I don’t think that’s true by any stretch of the imagination. I think what it’s done is add another layer of depth to the character. And the secret to longevity is the ability to reinvent yourself, and do different things. We’ve seen that with the Undertaker. We’ve seen that with Shawn Michaels, Triple H. Anyone who’s been in the WWE for an extended period of time has to be able to do different things. Eventually, a character gimmick is going to get old and stale. And, when it does, if that’s all you can do, you’e done. So I’m very proud of the fact that I can do different things. I’ve gone from a character that never spoke to a guy who goes out every week and is in the middle of big promo segments.”
