The Undertaker To Appear On Steve Austin’s WWE Network Podcast

Last night, WWE announced that Paul Heyman will be Steve Austin’s guest on the next installment of the Stone Cold Podcast, which airs live on the WWE Network on June 1st immediately following RAW.

WWE sent out a press release today touting the Stone Cold Podcast, revealing that The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan and Sting will also be sitting in the hot seat in the coming months.

WWE’s upcoming book about The Undertaker is scheduled for a November 3rd release, so Monday, November 2nd could very well be the day the Texas Rattlesnake and The Dead Man go face to face one more time.

Here’s the official word:

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin will host Stone Cold Podcast, Live!, a no-holds-barred, in-your-face monthly interview series beginning Monday, June 1 at 11 p.m. ET on the award-winning WWE Network, with special guest Paul Heyman.

Each month immediately following Monday Night Raw, which airs on USA Network, the WWE Hall of Famer will sit down with the biggest names in WWE including Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Sting and other celebrities from the world of sports and entertainment for an exclusive interview on WWE Network.

“If you’re ready for the Stone Cold Podcast, give me a ‘Hell Yeah!’,” said “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

Adam Rose Says The Rosebuds Are Done, “Party Over!”

WWE Superstar Adam Rose has been getting a lot of attention since the ESPN ‘Behind the Curtain’ special that looked at his evolution from Leo Kruger to Russell Brand-style party boy, as well as his family life outside the ring.

Rose has been asking fans on Twitter if they prefer his Leo Kruger character over Adam Rose, with a large portion of the feedback supporting Kruger.

He tweeted the following on Monday afternoon in what seems to be another pivotal moment for his career:

Chris Jericho On TNA Signing Billy Corgan, Daniel Bryan Vacating I-C Title, More

Part-time WWE performer Chris Jericho recently appeared as a guest on Busted Open Radio to talk about a couple of subjects. Below are some highlights from the interview.

On TNA signing Billy Corgan: “I respect Billy immensely because for me he is the only guy besides me that made it in wrestling and in music beyond what we expected. We are the only two guys that can honestly say we are in a rock band and in the wrestling business at a high level, obviously in reverse roles. Billy is coming into this for the right reasons. A lot of people might think “well Billy is not from the wrestling business, how can he be a booker? How can he be a writer?” Let me give you one name if you’re a hockey fan…Scotty Bowman. Scotty Bowman is the greatest coach in NHL history and he never played an NHL game in his life. So if Scotty comes to coach you team you’re going to go “he never played a game, what does he know?” It’s stupid. Billy knows wrestling. He understands wrestling. He is a student of the game and not just figuratively and literally. He has that ability to see things. I learned a lot from talking to Billy Corgan about how to build homegrown talent, about how to restructure the roster and repair some the damage that was done. I was just really enthralled by him. Being in the business for 25 years and listening to how he spoke and I’m sure he might feel the same way if I told him my theories on rock and roll. I’ve used a lot of the things I learned from wrestling in rock and roll and he is using a lot of the things he learned from building The Smashing Pumpkins into TNA. I will also say this. I think TNA got him just in the nick of time. I know for me, I wouldn’t say I gave up on TNA, I never really watched it. I was never interested. It was there, I wished it well, but I didn’t participate. Now I am interested. I want to see what Billy does. I am curious to see what kind of changes he can make. I hope they give him the opportunity to do that. There is nobody there to kind of pee in his oatmeal. There is no Eric Bischoff or Hulk Hogan, or those type of really dominant personalities. They don’t have that there. They have a lot of young people. They have an office that is pretty green. I mean Dixie knows a little. She has been running the company for ten years, but it’s not like Vince McMahon. John Gaburick , not like a Pat Patterson. They have got a lot of newer type of people there. I give them credit for bringing Billy in and I’m really excited to see what he can do. I believe in him as a creative element to that company that they never had before. Just because he hasn’t been an actual wrestler, I don’t care. I think he is the right guy at the right time for them.”

On Daniel Bryan vacating the Intercontinental Title: “I feel bad for Daniel because I am a huge Daniel Bryan fan in the ring and out. I’m not just talking personally, but I’m talking about his love for wrestling. He loves wrestling. He is a guy that fans can look up to as far as someone who made it even when the powers that be thought he had nothing. I knew he would make it from the moment he walked in because he made it in other places before. When you get over, it doesn’t matter that you get over in John Schwartz’s Sunday Night wrestling at the Vermont Auditorium on a Sunday afternoon or if it’s the WWE. If you get over, you know how to do that, and he has done it. He got over huge, huge, huge. More than anyone thought. He is a great performer and he has a great mind for the business. Now it seems like his body is breaking down. When you have to give up two major titles basically within a year of each other, especially with the way we think as wrestlers. If you’re hurt, you go out there and the show goes on, no matter what. Daniel is like that, I mean he worked with a detached retina. If he is being told to stay home, it’s worse than you think in my opinion. Because I know me, if someone told me to stay home, I would be like “F that, I’m coming back.” I don’t know what he does. Does he go away like Shawn Michaels did for a couple of years? Now with the Network, there is a lot of ways to still be involved. He can still do a show, or still be involved with Tough Enough, or do commentary, because it seems like he is not ready to come back. If he is vacating the title, this is not a month injury. This is something deeper and more serious than that. I have heard nothing or know nothing. I just know how we think as performers in the business, and the last thing we want to do is vacate a title again. Something is wrong and I hope that he can go away for maybe a year or two like Shawn Michaels did and maybe that will heal him.”

Finn Balor Talks About Getting Called Up To The Main Roster

NXT star Finn Balor recently spoke with MTV UK to promote Wednesday’s Takeover: Unstoppable event on the WWE Network.

Balor, 33, is clearly one of the top prospects in NXT who can make a significant impact on the main roster. With a bright future ahead and numerous potential dream feuds awaiting him on WWE TV, the Irish native isn’t in a rush to move on from developmental. When asked about getting called up to the main roster, Balor said,

“A lot of people keep talking about this call up to the main roster but for most of us at NXT we all believe what we’re doing at the moment is equally as important and we’re all fully committed to that. I’m not in any rush to make a move to Raw or SmackDown.

I’m very content at NXT and there’s a lot of challenges and a lot of milestones still to be achieved in NXT before I make any move. We all believe that we’re creating an alternative and we believe this is something we can sustain, grow and develop.”

He added that he wants to be part of NXT’s continued growth and feels that wrestling is on the verge of another boom period.

The Rock Confirms Furious 8 Role, Hobbs Spinoff Movie In The Works

Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson will be reprising his role as Hobbs once again in the next installment of the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise, according to a report at Collider. At a press event for his new disaster movie San Andreas, Johnson was asked if he’ll be returning to the franchise when Furious 8 hits theaters on April 14, 2017. He replied,

“Of course. It can’t go on without Hobbs.”

Studio heads have been so impressed with his performances in the Furious series (and the box office smackdown he delivers) that talks are already underway for a spinoff movie based on the Hobbs character. The Rock said:

“We all are interested in it. I just had a big conversation with the studio. So we’ll see. I still think for me personally we’ve created a little bit of space for him in 7 and the gauge is set for what the audience will want. That’s my take on it, you know, but a lot of other people have to have input.”

WWE RAW Preview: Payback Fallout, Elimination Chamber Hype

Tonight’s WWE RAW takes place from the Richmond, Virginia at the Richmond Coliseum. The show will feature fallout from last night’s Payback PPV and hype for the upcoming Elimination Chamber show on 5/31, airing exclusively on the WWE Network.

As of this writing, the only match advertised for the show is a John Cena United States Championship open challenge. Big Show is rumored to be making his TV return tonight and Naomi is teasing a Divas Title defense against Nikki Bella.

Here’s WWE’s 5-point preview:

  • Is Rollins really as good as he says he is?
  • What ‘I Quit’ Match aftermath lies ahead for John Cena, Rusev and Lana?
  • Who’s going into the Elimination Chamber?
  • Will Barrett settle the score with Neville in kingly fashion?
  • Will Naomi become the next Divas Champion?

The dark match main event will see John Cena, Roman Reigns and Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins, Big Show and Rusev.

Join us here tonight for our Live Coverage of WWE RAW.

WWE Advertising Top Heel As Intercontinental Champion For Upcoming Shows

Later this month, Daniel Bryan’s vacated Intercontinental Championship will be up for grabs inside the Elimination Chamber.

In what seems to be a spoiler regarding for the next champion, WWE is now advertising “Intercontinental Champion Sheamus” for several upcoming live events. While the “card subject to change” could apply here, Sheamus has been rumored to be the next IC champion weeks before these ads were spotted.

WWE is expected to announce the first Chamber participants tonight on RAW.

Jim Ross Blog: WWE Payback Thoughts, Bray Wyatt’s Spot, Cena-Rusev

WWE Hall OF Famer Jim Ross has updated his official website blog with thoughts on Sunday’s WWE Payback pay-per-view. Below are some highlights.

On the WWE Payback PPV: “Overall, I thought the show was solid…not great but certainly a solid show that had it’s moments. With the overall lack of main event depth in the business, I often wonder if it’s possible to have a successful run of ‘great’ shows from beginning until end within the PPV world. Nonetheless, Payback was solid and I’m happy that I got home in time to watch it live.”

On the Cena-Rusev “I Quit” Match: “Innovative conclusion of the Cena vs. Rusev ‘I Quit’ match and now I wonder what fan favorite is going to come to Lana’s aid as it’s relatively obvious that she and her burly associate are essentially done. I don’t think that we need to see to many more Cena vs. Rusev TV bouts especially considering Rusev has lost three in a row on PPV’s to Cena. The question is who’s next for Cena of which I’d assume we will find out Monday night. Breaking things and ‘stunts’ equates to today’s blood in a PG world of wrestling.”

On Bray Wyatt: “As I’ve said for a good while, I think that Bray Wyatt is a frog hair away from being a viable, ticket and merch selling, character baby face/fan favorite. Admirable that Wyatt & Ryback tried some new, risky content but was it really necessary? Tough booking as neither guy is hot and both are liked by various factions of fans which makes their matches against each other tough to successfully pull off. I do appreciate the effort of both men to work hard to deliver in a tough spot.”

On the WWE Payback main event: “The show did need a big finish and the Fatal Four Way WWE Title bout delivered that result. The fans certainly made their feelings known that they wanted the Shield to get back together. Will WWE listen or do they have a better plan in mind? I do feel that Reigns should be a villain without question which will subsequently foster him straight into the upper echelon as a fan favorite if executed soundly and logically. I had no problem with Rollins winning even though some fans via Twitter @JRsBBQ did but Rollins is still evolving and I say let him grow. As I’ve said on the Ross Report podcast, I’d keep Rollins as the champion including him dodging a Lesnar bullet at Summer Slam, Lesnar wins the Royal Rumble and then it’s Brock vs Rollins at WrestleMania in Texas where the ‘chasing’ fan favorite regains the championship.”

WWE Payback Results – May 17, 2015

WWE Payback 2015 PPV Opener:

After the usual bad ass video package opener, we shoot live into the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland for tonight’s WWE Payback pay-per-view.

Michael Cole welcomes us to the show and then Sheamus’ theme music hits. Our first WWE Payback pay-per-view match is about to get underway.

Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler

Sheamus makes his way to the ring and after that, Dolph Ziggler’s theme music hits and out he comes. Highlights are shown of the “Kiss Me Arse” match from Extreme Rules.

The bell sounds and here we go. Early on, surprisingly enough, Ziggler is in control, as he has Sheamus selling his knee. Sheamus eventually ovrturns the control but it doesn’t last long, as Ziggler starts stringing together another offensive series.

While Ziggler was in control of the offense for a long enough time, he got Sheamus in the corner and wiped his face all over his ass. Sheamus rolled out to the floor and sold it big time. Back in the ring, Ziggler hits the FameAsser for the close nearfall.

Sheamus staets blasting the hell out of Ziggler and now Ziggler is bleeding like crazy. The blood is believed to be from a head butt. The action is stopped to check the cut. Once the action resumes, Sheamus immediately blasts Ziggler with a Brogue Kick for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Sheamus

Backstage: Kane & Seth Rollins

Backstage, Kane sees Seth Rollins and J&J Security approach him. Rollins asks Kane to forget their differences and cooperate tonight. Kane refuses. He and Rollins argue back and forth. Kane says Rollins gets his wish, if he wins, Kane is no longer Director of Operations, but if he doesn’t, Kane gets his wish and Rollins loses the WWE title.

2-Out-Of-3 Falls WWE Tag-Team Titles: The New Day vs. Tyson Kidd & Cesaro

The New Day comes out and one-by-one they each address the fans in Baltimore. The fans chant “New Day-sucks! New Day-sucks!” They trash one of the Baltimore Orieals in the crowd.

Out next is Cesaro and Tyson Kidd, accompanied by Natalya, for this two-out-of-three falls WWE Tag-Team title match. The bell sounds and here we go. Big E. and Kofi Kingston are representing The New Day as champions in this one.

The New Day controls the action early on, but in the end, Kidd nails Kingston, Cesaro follows up with big the Big Swing into a Kidd dropkick for the 1-2-3. Kidd and Cesaro win the first fall.

After a lengthy back-and-forth second fall, with Kidd isolated in the action by the two active members of the New Day. Eventually, The New Day hits a big double team move for the 1-2-3. The falls are now 1-1. Next fall wins.

The two teams gio back and forth again, with Kidd and Cesaro hitting the coolest set of double-team moves — possibly of all-time. In the end, Cesaro is knocked down and robbed, as Xavier Woods, who wasn’t legally in the match, jumps in when the ref wasn’t looking and rolls him up for the 1-2-3 and the final fall, retaining the titles for The New Day.

Winners 2-1 and STILL WWE Tag-Team Champions: The New Day

Bray Wyatt vs. Ryback

After a particularly kick-ass video package, Bray Wyatt makes his way to the ring for his one-on-one contest with Ryback.

Ryback comes out next, the bell sounds and here we go. Early on, Ryback uses his strength to dominate the methodical Bray Wyatt.

After a few minutes of domination, Wyatt turns the tables by simply launching himself into Ryback off the ropes, similar to a brutal sack in football.

Wyatt gets Ryback to the floor and works him over out there, Wyatt dives off the apron and flips onto Ryback on the floor, Ryback screams in pain.

A Cena-like “let’s go Wyatt” and “Wyatt sucks” dueling chant breaks out. Ryback hits Wyatt with a big splash off the top rope for a close nearfall.

Wyatt goes for Sistai Abigail, but Ryback reverses into a Shellshock attempt. Wyatt escapes and slams Ryback into a turnbuckle with the padding exposed, right into a Sister Abigail. 1-2-3. Wyatt wins.

Winner: Bray Wyatt

Kevin Owens Does The 5-Knuckle Shuffle (Video), Most Talented Shield Member & More

WWE.com has a poll asking fans which former Shield member has the most talent. With over 8,000 votes in, Seth Rollins is leading the pack with 43%, followed by Dean Ambrose (32%) and Roman Reigns (25%).

– Cesaro posted a photo on Twitter of himself as an “extra” on WWE television in a backstage segment with Shane McMahon and DX from 2006. TNA star Ethan Carter III noted that there was another ‘pretty handsome dude’ in the shot, leading to this interesting exchange:

– At last night’s NXT live event from Albany, NY, NXT Champion Kevin Owens busted out a 5-Knuckle Shuffle.

Post-RAW Notes For Monday, HHH On NXT Touring, Curtis Axel Inducts Mr. Perfect

– WWE Superstar Curtis Axel inducted his father — “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig — into the Pro Wrestling Hall Of Fame at their 14th annual induction ceremony in New York this weekend. Others included at the ceremony were Rick Martel, Michael Hayes and more. Slam! Wrestling has a recap of the ceremony, which you can check out at Canoe.ca.

– In response to a fan on Twitter who commented about WWE taking NXT on the road for live tours outside of their home base in Florida, Triple H noted that they are “just getting started,” alluding to the fact that NXT will be doing more tours outside of Florida in the future.

– Following Monday’s post-Payback edition of WWE RAW, a quick five-minute “RAW Fallout” show is scheduled for the WWE Network. Additionally, fans will get to see a “First Look” special at the new WWE DVD on Jerry Lawler on the WWE Network this Monday night.

Tommy Dreamer On NXT & TNA On The Same Night, Jericho/Barrett, HHH On Kevin Owens

– Tommy Dreamer, who worked the NXT live events in Philadelphia and Albany this weekend, losing to Baron Corbin at both shows, acknowledged the fact that he appeared on a NXT show and a TNA show (Impact Wrestling) on the same night this past Friday. Dreamer compared it to Rick Rude appearing on RAW and Nitro on the same night during the Monday Night Wars. He tweeted the following:

– Speaking of the NXT Albany event on Saturday night, Triple H tweeted the following photo of Kevin Owens making his entrance for the triple-threat main event with Finn Balor and Tyler Breeze, which he went on to win via pinfall.

Finn Balor’s Entrance Messed Up At NXT Albany Show (Video), Balor Comments, More

– Finn Balor’s ring entrance was screwed up during the NXT live event in Albany, New York on Saturday night. NXT had a few issues with the sound system throughout the show, but the most glaring issue came during Balor’s entrance for the main event. Tyler Breeze came out first to his usual ring music and had to stall in the ring for several minutes while the NXT production crew was presumably working on fixing whatever the issue was. Unfortunately, they didn’t fix it fast enough, so Balor ended up coming out to no music. By the time he hit the ring and was posing in the corners, his music finally played. Kevin Owens would follow as the third competitor in the triple-threat main event, and by that point, the audio issues had been cleared up.

Balor tweeted the following about his entrance mix-up on Saturday, and re-tweeted the following video of the entrance itself.

https://twitter.com/mrskimboto/status/599787866055663617

– NXT Diva Bayley’s boyfriend Aaron Solow posted the following audition video for the new season of WWE Tough Enough. In the video, Solow addresses the fact that he’s dating Bayley in real life.

Brie Bella Not Injured, Sami Zayn Trademark, Jason Albert Proud Of NXT Crew

– Brie Bella ended up working the WWE live event in Atlantic City on Saturday night, so apparently whatever injury she suffered during the Friday show wasn’t that bad, or she wasn’t injured at all and it was simply part of the match.

– WWE filed a trademark for former NXT Champion Sami Zayn back on May 12th.

– The new NXT head trainer Jason Albert tweeted the following message about NXT’s three live events outside of Florida this weekend. WWE ran two NXT events in Philadelphia and one in Albany, New York this weekend.
