Backstage News On Hulk Hogan’s Status As A WWE Hall Of Famer

Currently, there is a lot of speculation regarding Hulk Hogan’s status as a WWE Hall Of Famer following an alleged racist tirade that resulted in him being fired from the promotion.

Hogan is currently not listed in the Hall Of Fame section of the official WWE website, however that is because WWE officials ordered the website to be scrubbed of all Hogan mentions.

According to the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, as of Friday afternoon, a decision had yet to be made regarding Hogan’s WWE Hall Of Fame status. It was also mentioned that Vince McMahon will likely change his mind about certain things as time goes by, and that time may heal some of the wounds.

It’s worth noting that Hogan may not have seen the worst of things yet, as The National Enquirer is promising that more comments from the video will be released in the near future.

Did Gawker Leak Hogan’s Racist Comments? Hogan’s Lawyer Comments

In light of the fallout surrounding Hulk Hogan’s racist comments that leaked online on Friday and made headlines worldwide, Hogan’s lawyer David Houston spoke to FOX 411 and was asked if he thinks Gawker released the sex tape transcript to damage Hogan’s image and sway the jury in their ongoing $100 million lawsuit. Houston said:

“I have my suspicions, as you can imagine. If I can find out it is Gawker who leaked the transcripts, we will bury them.”

“Hulk Hogan has only one person to blame for what he said and no one from Gawker had any role in leaking that information.”

Houston said that Hogan is devastated by those comments being released to the public and defends that his client is not a racist.

“He sincerely apologizes to his family, friends and fans.” Houston added, “He is not a racist. His history defines him as something different.”

Jim Ross Comments On Situation With Hulk Hogan

Yesterday the world was talking about the news that Hulk Hogan had made racist remarks which were published online and led to the release of Hogan from his WWE contract.

This has also led to him being removed from the WWE website, the WWE Shop and his replacement for Tough Enough is being discussed throughout social media.

Fellow Hall of Famer Jim Ross took to his blog (jrsbarbq.com) last night to share his thoughts on the Hulk Hogan situation with the world, you can read the post below:

Biggest news story of the day is the Hulk Hogan racist remarks controversy. I’m not sure what I’m expected to say about this sad and unfortunate matter except that there is obviously no place in our world for racism or racist banter. Hulk made a grievous error in judgment, a major mistake, that he will have to live with this rest of his days. One can only hope that every one who this matter touches can learn from it and move forward in a positive manner. The WWE acted quickly and decisively in this matter to which they are to be commended.
In any organization, there should be zero tolerance for matters such as this along with domestic violence and, to a large degree, drug policy violations, as well. The only way changes that are needed in our society can evolve is to penalize the offenders as severely as the law will allow so that those that follow think twice or three times before traveling down the same road.

It will intriguing as to how Hogan will attempt to rehabilitate his damaged image and what the future holds for him. We live in a forgiving society when those that want forgiveness and hopefully that will be the case here over the course of time. No one should celebrate the misery of others nor can these transgressions go unaddressed. Being human, we all make mistakes and all we can hope to accomplish from those errors is to never make them again and to learn from them as well. Hopefully, after his long and memorable career within the squared circle, Hulk Hogan’s lasting legacy will not be that of his actions that have come to light in the past several hours

Brooke Hogan Responds To Her Father’s Racism Controversy

Brooke Hogan wrote a poem on Facebook in response to the controversy surrounding her father’s Hulk Hogan’s racist comments:

~If You Knew My Father~
By Brooke Bollea

If you knew the dad I knew,
you’d know his tender heart.

He’d never want to hurt his fans,
or family from the start.

If you knew my father,
you would know how hard he fought…

and the way it brought a smile to people light, medium and dark.

We always fight a battle
that people never see,

and sometimes when you’re hurting, you don’t think logically.

Human isn’t perfect,
and perfect is not he,

but I can tell you one thing, it’s just not what it seems.

Cause If you knew the dad I knew,
you’d know he raised me well.

He taught me folks are so much more
than shades could ever tell.

And If you knew my father,
you would know he’s down to earth.

He may have slammed the giant,
but remembers life’s true worth.

If you knew my father,
if you just walked in his shoes…

then you would know that microscope that comes with yellow boots.

If you knew my father,
you would see your own in mine.

And if he was your father, you could never find divide.

Cause me- I bet your father
or someone that you love

Maybe regrets something
they wish they’d never done.

So if you know my father,
remember he’s a man,

and you would crave relief if people judged everything you did.

The lord says to forgive them,
don’t be the one to stone…

so please remember his strong arms when you were all alone.

The lives he’s changed, the friends he’s made,
the people he’s inspired…

It makes me sad to see my dad
defeated and so tired.

If you knew my father,
you would know just how he’s hurting…

For he loves every one of you, regardless of your story.

And if you met my father,
I know he’d give you love!

He’d lift you up, apologize and give you all a hug.

For those who think you know my father,
remember who you are.

We all can make mistakes and carry ugly scars.

Because I know my father,
I can promise this-

Just like you and I, things we don’t mean can sometimes slip.

We all continue learning.
This life can be so rough…

So if you know my father, please try not to be tough.

My father has a daughter,
and I have feelings too.

And if I knew your father, I would do the same for you.

Roddy Piper Addresses Hulk Hogan Racism Controversy

After dancing around the question and talking about some of the racially-driven controversial moments throughout his own career, “Hot Rod” finally addressed the Hogan situation.

“With Hulkster, I don’t agree with all his choices, you know what, I don’t hear people saying all the great things he does,” said Piper. “When he was on the Wheaties’ Box, all those kids that said their prayers and took their vitamins. I don’t hear them saying that. They just want to nail this.”

Piper concluded, “I just think it is a little… I think everybody needs to get a life. I don’t think that anybody should just go to hurt your feelings for no reason.”

Mark Henry Issues Statement Regarding Hulk Hogan’s Racist Comments

WWE Superstar Mark Henry has issued a statement regarding the racist comments made by Hulk Hogan that were posted online on Friday morning:

“Unfortunately, I’m getting hounded today by media regarding my thoughts and experiences with Hulk Hogan. I’d prefer not to be thrust into this, but as the requests have been significant I feel I have a responsibility to make a statement of some sort. At a minimum to ease my personal burden regarding this topic.

We all know that we have history as it relates to the company, me and this unfortunate subject matter of racial slurs and prejudices. I don’t want to and will not re-hash that, but I do want people to know that I do not condone racist behavior or speech of any manner. Again, I do not plan to speak on what happened in the past, but I would like to offer this statement about the current situation and events that hit the news today.

I’m disappointed in the comments made by Terry Bollea (Hulk Hogan). I’ve known Terry a very long time as both a work colleague and as someone I consider a friend. I’m hurt and offended that he expressed his feelings in the manner and tone that was presented on the tape. I am however, pleased that WWE took swift action in response to his comments and I support the position the organization is taking on this matter: a no tolerance approach to racism.”

Johnny Mundo On His Fitness Routine, His Experience On Tough Enough, And More

On a recent episode of The Steve Austin Show – Unleashed! Lucha Underground star Johnny Mundo (formerly known as John Morrison and Johnny Nitro) was featured.

The former WWE Superstar spoke about moving to Lucha Underground, his experience on the third season of Tough Enough and much more.

To listen to the podcast in full, you can do so by clicking this link. Below are just a few of the highlights:

On his fitness routine, which is something he has created:

“I have a whole fitness product that I created, it’s called Out of Your Mind Fitness, it’s a functional training regiment, it’s a lot of body weight exercises using weight equipment for assistance rather than resistance. And I’d say I do that exact program six days a week for an hour to an hour and a half, it’s like resistance training like lifting weights. In addition to that I usually do some kind of skill based training five times a week, like boxing, MMA. I train sometimes downtown with your buddy Josh Barnett.

So usually the weight training and some kind of skill based thing, and the skill is more like training cardio so if it’s MMA or boxing or parkour or some kind of stunt cardio, that’s usually just what happens based on my schedule.”

On transitioning to the Lucha style of wrestling:

“It wasn’t that different from the way that I worked in WWE. I mean, my first match, when MNM debuted in 2005, our very first match was Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio, we won the tag championships. I had the chance to work with Rey, maybe not a hundred times but a lot with WWE and we had feuds with the Mexicools and Super Crazy and Psicosis and Juve so I had some experience, so it wasn’t like I was venturing off into uncharted territory.

I definitely learned quite a bit, I think the language barrier is a little difficult sometimes and the difference in psychology is hard, and sometimes instead of completely adapting to Lucha, what I think makes Lucha Underground unique and different is blending American psychology with Lucha psychology and getting some of the moves to mean more.”

On his experience on the third season of Tough Enough:

“When I got there I felt like it was perfect for me because I was a fan of the business, I had all this gymnastics training and all these ideas and all this energy and it was an opportunity to learn from the best and it was Al [Snow], Bill [DeMott] and Ivory were the trainers on that season of Tough Enough.

For where I was on Tough Enough, Bill was perfect, I mean he’s a hard ass and he’s aggressive but he makes sure you have respect for the business. And on that show of Tough Enough, that’s what you need because there’s a bunch of kids, some are respectful, some aren’t but everyone is green as grass and you need somebody like Bill, and you need somebody like Al and everybody has got a role, everybody is there for a reason and I thought that, I still think my season was the best season, probably because I was on it.”

WWE Continues To Distance Themselves From Hulk Hogan

Following the news that Hulk Hogan had made racist comments which ultimately led to him being fired from the WWE, it appears that the company isn’t stopping there.

It all began when Hulk Hogan was removed from the WWE website, his merchandise was removed from the WWE Shop and he was also removed from the Tough Enough page, among others.

PWInsider has since reported that the WWE have now gone on to inform partners and the like that all references to Hulk Hogan should be dropped immediately.

This includes all images of Hogan, all current and planned projects that have been licensed and goes as far as action figures and streaming music.

It’s understandable why WWE want to distance themselves from Hogan considering the amount of interest the story has gathered – and will continue to do in the coming days.

WWE Terminates Hulk Hogan’s Contract, Issues Statement

WWE has released a statement regarding the ongoing situation with Hulk Hogan.

News broke last night that evidence that surfaced in Hogan’s ongoing lawsuit against Gawker Media showed Hogan making vile racist comments to Heather Clem, the woman involved in the sex tape at the center of the lawsuit.

After removing every trace of Hogan from the company website, WWE issued the following statement:

“WWE has terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as evidenced by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide. “

Hulk Hogan: “I Am A Racist, To A Point, F*cking N******”

The National Enquirer has published their ‘World Exclusive’ report detailing the racist comments made by Hulk Hogan that has led to WWE severing all ties with him.

The racist comments were made on a sex tape which was entered as evidence during Hogan’s ongoing lawsuit with Gawker Media. Hogan unleashes a rant about his daughter Brooke, who he accused of sleeping with a black man. Hogan drops the N-word and other racial insults multiple times on the tape.

While talking to Heather Clem, the woman involved in the original sex tape that Gawker leaked, Hogan said,

“She is making some real bad decisions now. My daughter Brooke jumped sides on me. I spent $2-3 million on her music career, I’ve done everything like a jackass for her.”

“The one option Brooke had, Brooke’s career besides me, is [to] sell beach records.”

At that point on the tape, Hogan vents his frustrations that a “black billionaire guy” offered to fund her music career.

“I don’t know if Brooke was f*cking the black guy’s son,” Hulk said, the sources add.

“I mean, I don’t have double standards. I mean, I am a racist, to a point, f*cking n***ers. But then when it comes to nice people and sh*t, and whatever.”

According to their sources, Hogan also said:

“I mean, I’d rather if she was going to f*ck some n***er, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n***er worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player! I guess we’re all a little racist. f–king n***er.”

Story developing.
