Hulk Hogan’s FBI Record Still Could Be Made Public

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIlEDmfzNCo

Late last week, we told you about the latest development in Hulk Hogan’s lawsuit against Gawker for publishing clips of a sex video recorded without his knowledge. Various news agencies and media companies, most notably the Associated Press and Scripps, had filed a motion to unseal the FBI case file of the investigation into an extortion attempt made using the sex videos. Gawker had successfully sued to get a copy of the case file, but the judge overseeing the Hogan case made it “eyes only” to each side’s lawyers it when they filed the information in court.

This means that it’s sealed off to everyone else, including Gawker founder Nick Denton and the media. Hence the motion to unseal it, which could be bad for Hogan because we now know the contents include the transcript of his racist tirade among other things. The media companies argued that with Florida’s open records laws, the judge in the Gawker-FBI lawsuit ruling the case file was public record, and the sealing being highly unusual, the records should be made public.

Well, on Friday, we told you that, per the Associated Press, Judge Pamela Campbell had ruled against the motion just a day after it was filed. No reason was given, which was strange. Well, it turns out that the Associated Press actually messed up a story about themselves, as they issued a correction last night. It turns out that the motion struck down last week was an earlier attempt to unseal from the Summer. The timing appears coincidental.

Update On TNA Impact Wrestling On Destination America

Destination America has updated their TV schedule through October 22nd and Impact Wrestling is now listed through 10/21, Wednesdays nights at 9 pm EST.

This backs up Dixie Carter’s recent comments to Sports Illustrated, where she said Impact would remain on Destination America through the end of 2015 and beyond the contractually-obligated 39-episode minimum agreed to last year 2014.

Dixie said they are currently in negotiations to extend the show’s run beyond the end of the year, but that’s considered an overly optimistic outlook. As for what happens if Destination America does drop Impact by the end of the year, she told SI, “TNA will continue exist, and on a level that far exceeds what we’re currently doing. I’m looking ahead five years down the road, not a year down the road.”

Jim Ross Comments On WrestleMania 32 Rumors

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com with his thoughts on various WrestleMania 32 rumors. Here are some highlights of what JR said about:

WrestleMania 32 Rumors:

“The online speculation on what the card will resemble at Wrestlemania Texas will become nauseating before it will all be said and done. This ‘Mania will do 100,000+ IMO but even with that success one has to wonder will today’s social media obsessed fans will be satisfied? I think that we all know the answer to that one.

Plans are coming together well for our WM32 weekend of activities. Our meetings in Dallas last week on our venue and our show schedule in Dallas plus a new pro wrestling project that we are exploring went very well.”

Steve Austin wrestling Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32:

“Love the fact that Steve Austin definitively shot down the rumors of any chance that he would face Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania Texas on April 3 in Arlington at AT&T Stadium. I said the same thing on my podcast this week after talking to Steve before recording it last week on the Bruce Mitchell episode. Nonetheless no matter what Austin or anyone else says many fans will remain hopeful and damn near sure that this match is going to happen. I can only say to that ” Let it go.”

I could see Lesnar winning the 2016 Royal Rumble and then facing the WWE champion and winning before 100,000+ fans at WM32. Time will tell as there are many ways to go with a star as talented as Lesnar.”

The Rock vs. Triple H at WrestleMania 32:

“Another rumor is Rock vs. HHH at Wrestlemania Texas. I could see that happening but only time will tell. These two could have a great build up and then deliver a stout, old school match.”

RVD Talks About A Final WWE Run, His Relationship With Paul Heyman

Former WWE & ECW star Rob Van Dam recently spoke with GrueMonkey.com about his experiences working with Paul Heyman and whether or not we’ll ever see him in WWE again.

RVD called ECW the most fun he ever had during his career. “I went from being considered a good wrestler with potential, to being a superstar. That happened around ’98 and it was the ECW crowd that elevated me. Learning to wrestle in front the most opinionated crowd waiting for you to mess up so they could make fun of me, put the right amount of pressure on me.”

He added that Paul Heyman has always been the only guy that really understood him and looked out for him. “The other agents and promoters seemed confused why the fans liked me so much because I was so non-typical for there idea of a wrestler, so they just tried to capitalize on it without owning it. Paul understood and knew how to bring more out of me.”

As for a final run with WWE, RVD said, “I have a merchandise deal with the WWE and right now, I’m too on the go. I have no reason to do a run right now. Honestly, it’s better not to …  I don’t see that changing in the future. Physically, I feel great. I’ve always said, I’m unique in that way. People say wrestling wears you down, but no one thinks I just don’t want to. I can do the same as I did 20 years ago. Who knows, maybe someone threw it out there for reaction and the internet has had its fun with it.”

What’s amazing is that viewership has increased over 10x in just two years, when WWE’s channel generated only 41.8 million views and was ranked #53 in August 2013. For August 2014, WWE had already climbed to the 15th most popular channel with 149.4 million views.

– WWE Divas Champion Charlotte is the latest female competitor to show her support for WWE eliminating the butterfly belt in favor of a Women’s Championship.

WWE RAW Preview: Will The Real Kane Please Stand Up?

That’s the tagline that WWE is going with for this week’s edition of Monday Night RAW which will come to you live from the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York.

Last weekend during WWE Night of Champions Kane made his return during the main event but he wasn’t Corporate Kane, he put the mask on once again and went straight for Seth Rollins.

During RAW and SmackDown this week Corporate Kane was back in the suit and continued his mind games with Rollins, explaining that he knew nothing about Masked Kane returning.

Below are the five key points that WWE will be focusing on this week:

– Is Kane suffering from split personality disorder or is his behavior part of something bigger?

– What’s next for the Divas Revolution? How will Natalya retaliate to the actions of Paige?

– Should Randy Orton be concerned with what The Wyatt Family are planning next?

– Is the U.S. Open Challenge back? If so who will challenge John Cena for the U.S. Title?

– What message will the Big Show send before his encounter with Brock Lesnar in MSG?

As always, make sure to join us here at SEScoops.com later this evening for the best live WWE RAW results coverage on the web!

The Latest On Plans For The Rock At WrestleMania 32

We noted late last week that The Rock is no longer being considered as Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania 32 opponent.  A WrestleMania showdown between Lesnar & The Rock has been rumored for years, but has been nixed time and time again for various reasons.

Of course after what transpired at this year’s WrestleMania with The Rock, Ronda Rousey and The Authority, there had been a lot of speculation that the four of them would be involved in a mixed tag team match. That was until Ronda Rousey revealed that her movie schedule will prevent her from being part of next year’s show.

The current plan is for The Rock to face Triple H in a singles match at WrestleMania, according to Dave Meltzer on Sunday’s Wrestling Observer radio.

We’re still 6 months out and a lot can change by WrestleMania season, but the absence of names like Steve Austin, Ronda Rousey, Hulk Hogan and possibly Sting make a high-profile match featuring The Rock even more necessary for WWE to ensure WM32 is a big success.

Nikki Bella Says John Cena Has Nothing To Do With Her Success – “He Has Zero Pull”

Former WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella spoke with Channel Guide Magazine to promote Tuesday night’s Total Divas season finale on the E! Network.

During the interview, Nikki addressed the rumor that the only reason she was the longest reigning Divas Champion in history is because her boyfriend John Cena used his influence to make it happen. Nikki said:

“I ignore it. Even though I see the hate on social media, and it shocks me. It shocks me the rumors people start, that I have the title because of my boyfriend. If that was the case, I would have gotten the title when I came back years ago and still had the title. He has nothing to do with it. He has nothing to do with anyone’s story or anything like that. He has zero pull. We talk about it all the time because it’s funny how people say that.

Nikki said that one of the main reasons AJ Lee has such a long title run was because Vince McMahon originally didn’t want any of the Total Divas cast members holding the Divas Championship. At the time, Vince didn’t like the idea of the Divas Champion going back and forth between the WWE Universe and “reality” TV. She raised the issue of a Divas Champion losing the title during an ongoing season of the show and the former champion appearing on pre-taped episodes as champion.

She also talked about losing the Divas Championship to Charlotte earlier this month:

“When you think about it we had maybe a week to two weeks to push this. So knowing the title change was going to happen, I thought, ‘We could give them a really good match, but are they going to be that behind her? Are they going to think maybe she shouldn’t have gotten the title yet?’ I felt what we did that Monday night really got the crowd behind her.

“They really started to believe in her. As a bad guy that can’t get disqualified or if I do get disqualified I lose my title or counted out, I had to work smart [at Night of Champions]. So if I see a body part hurt, I’m going to take advantage of it. Then the good guy overcomes it in the end. That was the story we wanted to tell, and it worked out. We got them behind her. I was really happy with it. Don’t get me wrong. I miss my championship. It was a very lonely evening and in the morning.”

Filming for Season 5 of Total Divas is already underway and will begin airing in early 2016.
