– In an update from earlier, there will be a 30-minute WWE SmackDown post-show on the WWE Network tomorrow night before the Draft goes live on the USA Network at 8pm EST. Renee Young will be on the panel with guests to be announced. The second-screen experience that airs on the WWE Network while SmackDown airs on USA will run for three hours.

– WWE will release a new Randy Orton DVD and Blu-ray on 11/14 in the UK and 11/15 in the US. More than 20 matches have been selected for the set and will be revealed soon.

– Triple H tweeted the following to hype the 6 NXT stars being included in the WWE Draft tomorrow night:

WWE Monday Night RAW Results – July 18, 2016

The July 18th edition of WWE RAW from the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI is the last episode before the 2016 roster draft and brand split.

– Stephanie McMahon comes out to open the show and she is interrupted by Shane before she can finish her first sentence. After some arguing between the siblings, Stephanie announces the new GM for RAW: Mick Foley! Foley comes out and cuts a promo about how this reminds him of the Attitude Era and the Monday Night Wars. Foley says he’s going to take RAW to the future and beyond, and Shane says that Foley is a good pick. Shane introduces his new SmackDown GM: Daniel Bryan! He comes out and says he’s missed the fans, and talks about how him and Shane are going to make SmackDown beat RAW every single week. Stephanie says Daniel Bryan is only a B+ wrestler, and makes fun of Shane for sweating. Shane says she had to marry a WWE Superstar to stay relevant, and Bryan says “Yes” they will make SmackDown bigger than RAW.

Sami Zayn and Cesaro def. Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho: Jericho controls the match against Cesaro early on, but Cesaro comes back with uppercuts. Sami and Owens fight at ringside and Cesaro and Jericho trade offense in the ring. Cesaro goes for the Neutralizer but Jericho gets out, then Zayn and Owens get the hot tags. Zayn gets the upper hand on Owens then they tag in Jericho and Cesaro. Cesaro hits a splash off the top for a 2-count, then swings Jericho. Sami Zayn gets the tag and hits a superkick on Owens then rolls up Jericho for the win.

– Backstage, Daniel Bryan and Stephanie McMahon exchange words. Daniel Bryan says he’s back like “the new Ghostbusters movie.” Stephanie says he’s more like Chucky from Child’s Play. Bryan tells her good job on ruining Monday Night RAW and goodbye.

Darren Young def. Alberto Del Rio: The Miz and Maryse are on commentary for this one. We get back and forth action until Darren Young hits a big right hand. The Miz gets on the apron to distract him while Del Rio goes to roll him up from behind. Young escapes the pin attempt and gets Del Rio in a pin of his own for the win.

– John Cena comes out and grabs the mic to talk about tomorrow night’s draft on SmackDown, and Battleground on Sunday. Cena introduces his partners for Battleground, Enzo and Cass. Enzo cuts his usual weekly promo then get in the ring with Cena. Enzo then disses The Club and says AJ Styles has a haircut like a soccer mom. The Club comes out to interrupt and they trash talk the babyfaces. They say tonight they’re going to beat up John Cena, Enzo, Cass, and all three members of The New Day. The New Day comes out to interrupt and they cut a promo on The Club. After a few minutes of banter, The Wyatt Family makes their way out.

The Wyatt Family & The Club def. The New Day, John Cena, and Enzo & Cass: Lots of tags in the opening minutes. Enzo Amore tags himself in and faces off against the much larger Braun Strowman. Strowman drops him with a shoulder block and Big Cass tags himself in. Strowman knocks Cena off the apron and this causes everyone to hit the ring. The smoke clears and Cass hits Strowman with a big boot then tags in Kofi. Kofi comes off the top for a splash but Strowman catches him and hits a running powerslam. AJ Styles and Cena become the legal men and AJ gets the supper hand, but he gets distracted arguing with Bray Wyatt. AJ gets Cena in a fireman’s carry into a neckbreaker onto his knee for a 2 count. Gallows and Anderson work over Cena and keep him away from his team’s corner. Cass and AJ get the tags, but Braun Strowman quickly enters the ring and lays out the babyfaces. The New Day teams up to take out Strowman and Rowan. Xavier hits a suicide dive onto the Wyatt family on the floor. The Wyatts and The New Day brawl up the ramp. Enzo accidentally clotheslines Cena, then AJ hits Enzo with the Styles Clash for the win.

– We see footage shot earlier today of Seth Rollins in the empty arena talking about why he deserves to be World Heavyweight Champion.

– Backstage, Shane McMahon congratulations Mick Foley on becoming the RAW GM. Shane tells Foley that his sister is going to try to manipulate him, and Foley says he’s well aware of how Stephanie works. Foley tells Shane he’s got talent to scout and leaves.

Baron Corbin def. Sin Cara: Sin Cara gets in some high-flying offense early on, but Corbin gets the win very quickly with the End of Days. Corbin beats down Sin Cara after the match until Kalisto comes out for the save, then Corbin beats him down too.

Sasha Banks & Becky Lynch def. Charlotte & Dana Brooke via DQ: Becky starts the match off in control against Dana. Natalya comes out in the opening minutes and beats down Becky at ringside. The referee calls for the bell and Charlotte and Dana continue the beat down on Becky and Sasha.

– Shane and Daniel Bryan are talking to Demon Kane in the back.

– Dean Ambrose is backstage cutting a promo on Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

Rusev & Sheamus def. Dolph Ziggler & Zack Ryder: The heels start the match off in control. Dolph Ziggler gets the hot tag and hits the Fameasser on Rusev but Sheamus breaks up the pin. Rusev comes back with a superkick and The Accolade for the win.

– They air a video promoting Randy Orton’s return at Battleground.

– Daniel Bryan and Mick Foley are talking in the back. Daniel Bryan says they should have a good working relationships, and they trade some verbal jabs. Foley tells Daniel Bryan “let the games begin.”

Seth Rollins def. Dean Ambrose for the World Heavyweight Title: The World Heavyweight Title is on the line in this one. Stephanie, Shane, Mick Foley and Daniel Bryan are all sitting at ringside to watch. After some back and forth action in the opening minutes, with Rollins rolling to the outside for a breather more than once. Ambrose hits a flying clothesline off the apron onto Rollins at ringside. Back in the ring, Rollins takes control and works on Ambrose in the corner. Ambrose mounts a comeback and hits a Fisherman’s suplex for a near-fall. Ambrose throws Rollins to the outside then hits a suicide dive. Rollins avoids a clothesline and hits Ambrose with a powerbomb into the fan barriace, then follows up with a frogsplash in the ring for another near-fall. Rollins attempts a Pedigree but Ambrose gets out. Rollins hits a flying knee and goes for another Frogsplash off the top, but Ambrose rolls out of the way. They trade strikes in the middle of the ring. Rollins powerbombs Ambrose into the turnbuckle, and Ambrose comes right back with a DDT. Rollins rolls outside and Ambrose follows. Ambrose starts messing up the commentary area then puts Rollins onto the Spanish announce table. Rollins rolls off and runs back into the ring where he hits a Pedigree on Ambrose for another 2-count. Rollins hits a Superplex off the top and hooks Ambrose’s leg, but Ambrose hooks Rollins’ leg too and the referee counts to three. There’s confusion over who the referee counted for. Stephanie says that Rollins won and that brings Shane, Foley and Bryan all in the ring with them. Stephanie grabs the Title belt and a mic and announces Rollins as the new champ.

Spoiler Update On The WWE SmackDown GM

We noted last Tuesday how the WWE App apparently spoiled Daniel Bryan as the new SmackDown General Manager.

To update the story, we can confirm Bryan is booked for tonight’s RAW and tomorrow’s SmackDown.

There’s been no word yet on who the RAW GM role will go to but it was noted that there has not been a lot of talk within WWE about an outside name being brought in.

Stay tuned as Shane and Stephanie McMahon will reveal their picks for GM on tonight’s RAW.

New RAW & SmackDown General Managers To Be Revealed At The Start Of Tonight’s RAW

WWE announced on Monday morning that the new RAW and SmackDown General Managers will be revealed at the start of tonight’s RAW.

WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon returned to television last week and appointed Stephanie McMahon and Shane McMahon as the new Commissioners of RAW and SmackDown, respectively. It was explained that Stephanie and Shane would be in charge of their brands’ business operations while their GM’s would act as surrogates, running the television shows on a week-to-week basis.

Any last minute predictions?

John Cena Done Working Domestic House Shows, Marcellus Black To WWE?

WWEShop.com is now selling some of the Superstar flags that have been used as part of the promotional material for Sunday’s Battleground pay-per-view.

– Following this weekend’s live events, John Cena is no longer advertised for any domestic non-televised shows. The 15-time world champion teamed up with the Usos on Sunday night in Glens Falls, New York and defeated AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows in a 6-man tag match. Cena is scheduled to appear at a few overseas shows later this year in Australia and China, but nothing in the United States. With Cena rumored to be joining the SmackDown brand at Tuesday’s Draft, his absence from SmackDown live events would certainly not help the brand’s perception as being inferior to RAW.

– WWE Hall of Famer Booker T revealed on Instagram on Sunday that Marcellus Black, one of the performers from his Texas-based Reality of Wrestling promotion, is headed to WWE.

Preview For The Last Episode Of RAW Before The Draft, Live Coverage & Discussion Later Tonight

The last episode of RAW before the Draft takes place tonight at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI. Here’s what WWE is promoting for the last stop before the live roster draft on Tuesday’s SmackDown:

– Dean Ambrose is scheduled to defend his World Heavyweight Title against Seth Rollins.

– Stephanie McMahon will choose her GM for RAW and Shane McMahon will choose his GM for SmackDown.

– New matches will be set up for Battleground.

– John Cena, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Bray Wyatt and Chris Jericho are also advertised to appear.

The dark match being advertised locally is a tag match featuring the team of John Cena and Dean Ambrose taking on the team of AJ Styles and Seth Rollins.

Play-by-play coverage of RAW with live discussion starts on SEScoops.com at 7:30 PM ET.

Brock Lesnar Update: SummerSlam Status, USADA Violation, WWE Draft

Here’s the latest on Brock Lesnar being flagged for a potential USADA violation stemming from his fight at UFC 200 back on July 9th. The news comes courtesy of Wrestling Observer Radio – visit f4wonline.com for subscription information.

– Whether or not Brock Lesnar wrestles Randy Orton at SummerSlam as scheduled will be almost entirely up to WWE. Depending on what substance Lesnar tested positive for, he could be facing up to a 2 year suspension from MMA in Nevada. This is unlikely to affect him appearing at SummerSlam because New York State does not license pro wrestlers individually, they license wrestling promoters. Since he’s not licensed as a pro wrestler, in theory he could still perform.

– The drug Lesnar was flagged for will be made public during his hearings in Nevada. There is a rumor going around that he got in trouble for using an inhaler, but that’s nothing more than speculation at this point.

– Lesnar passed the first 5 USADA tests and failed the sixth. Since that 6th test that turned up hot, he was tested two additional times and those results are still pending.

– Lesnar had been advertised for Tuesday’s WWE Draft edition of SmackDown, but has been pulled from that show. Dave Meltzer noted that him being pulled from the show is not related to the USADA news and is probably because WWE didn’t want to burn one of his dates by having him just stand on the stage as part of the Draft.

Tuesday night marks the beginning of yet a new era in WWE – here are some reactions from some of the most sought after picks:

Austin Aries Speaks On Rumors Of Him No-Showing NXT Live Events

Austin Aries took to Twitter on Saturday night to address some rumors that had been spreading on the web about him.

There were reports online that Aries supposedly “no showed” this weekend’s NXT live events. Aries that this isn’t true, and that him not being on certain shows wasn’t unexpected. While he wasn’t in front of the crowd at this week’s NXT TV tapings, he was backstage for pre-tapes.

Aries may have been advertised locally for the events, but there have been many cases in the last year where WWE advertises names for events who aren’t booked for the shows.

The former TNA World Heavyweight Champion is scheduled to be back on the NXT live event circuit later this month for events in San Antonio, Robstown, and Houston

Finn Balor Teases Being Part Of The Upcoming WWE Draft

NXT was in Louisville, KY on Saturday night for their last live event before Tuesday’s WWE draft. After the show, Finn Balor teased fans that he may be a part of the draft to determine the RAW and SmackDown rosters.

The show was headlined by an 8-person tag match where the team of Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, American Alpha & Bayley defeated Bobby Roode, Samoa Joe, The Revival, Alexa Bliss. After the match, Balor grabbed the mic and asked the crowd if someone left a door open because he “feels a draft.” Balor also said that we’ll see everyone who performed in that match at WrestleMania events in the future.

Heath Slater Injured At WWE Live Event On Saturday Night (Photo)

WWE announced this morning that Heath Slater was injured at Saturday night’s WWE Live Event in Bangor, Maine when a gash developed over his right eye during a match against Titus O’Neil. The contest was immediately stopped and O’Neil was declared the winner.

WWE ringside physician Dr. Stephen Daquino, who treated Slater, relayed the following to WWE.com: “Heath has a six centimeter laceration above his right eye. It was quite open, right down to the bone. He got 18 sutures and hopefully that will close it up.”

After the show, Slater tweeted a photo of the gash.

Christy Hemme Says Politics Kicked Her Out Of WWE, Compares Triple H To Hulk Hogan

During an in-studio interview with Keven Undergaro on The Tomorrow Show, Christy Hemme spoke out on a wide range of topics including her departure from WWE and why she always travels with a Trish Stratus action figure. The former WWE and TNA performer also offered her opinion on various people she’s worked with over the years.

Highlights from the interview (listen to it here) are as follows:

Christy says Triple H gives to everyone while Hulk Hogan is more about himself:

Hulk is great for Hulk. Triple H is great for business. You know, as far as like, bringing people in, bringing people up…he was always giving to the people…Hulk is like an icon and he is legendary and he is building his own brand.

Christy reveals two sure fire ways to tell if a wrestler has “it” and why Sasha Banks does:

There’s two things, there’s a feeling. And that’s something you cannot explain. Like, there’s a feeling you get from her when you watch her in the ring, and that, that’s the that “it” factor, right? That’s like, Wow! Like, you know you get little butterflies like in your heart for what she does. Right? And then the second thing is, you know, I always can see the difference between somebody that’s really in it, and not in it with their in between movements. So people do a big move, they do a move, they do a move, all those in-betweens, like in between the moves, where are they? What are they doing? Are they really there? So it’s believable when you see like, like as a piece of art…she’s a feeler. She’s really there, she’s really being.

Why Gail Kim would beat Awesome Kong in a TNA Knockouts shoot fight:

Everything comes down to passion I think that that wins, and she is probably the most passionate when I picture, as far as being in the ring and physically going.

Why Jacqueline Moore would win in a WWE women shoot fight:

She is someone that will put you in your place. She is very strong. She is, she’s amazing. She is really good…You don’t want to mess with her. You don’t. You just don’t.

What it’s really like to work with Stephanie McMahon:

I really love her. She is so poised and so powerful and as a female…She had worked on a couple of my segments and I was always lost when she was talking to me in the moments because she is really one of those people that she’s a really good producer…She’s really good at connecting and pulling something out of you that she’s looking for…but she’s softer in like, she’s a warm person. She’s a strong person but she’s a warm person and she’s passionate about the females so she’s always fighting for them.

How “politics” kicked her out of WWE

They asked me to move to OVW to train and I was like YES! I get to go train! Like I want to go work hard, I was really excited. And then when I got there, I was there for maybe a week and then I got the call that I was released. And I was heartbroken. Crushed.

When asked why, she responded:

I’m a strong woman that lives by my morals, and if you ask me to do something that’s not within my morals I will say no. So once I put that you know line down, that’s when I got the axe…It was one specific incident, so I’m just gonna leave it at that, cause I don’t need to go into details…It was not a wrestling related risque thing, I did Playboy…it’s just behind the scenes, politics, politics.

Christy shares a funny story about Victoria/Tara being nude in the TNA locker room:

They had hired all of these young girls, like millennials to come in and be on the show and there was like, 8 of them, right? And in the locker room, I walk in and they’re all standing around somebody and everybody’s laughing and I’m like “what is happening” and they’re going crazy, and I see Lisa (Tara/Victoria), in the middle of them, spinning around like this, I’m like ‘what are you doing?’ she’s like ‘I just feel so young.’

Carrying a Trish Stratus action figure in her suitcase:

When I was going through the Diva Search, I had one of her action figures and I kept it in my suit case and it was like my good luck charm right…She’s done so much in this business and she definitely knows how to build a brand and she’s done very well. And so yeah, who doesn’t aspire to be powerful like that.

Brock Lesnar Responds To Potential Anti-Doping Violation, Mark Hunt Issues Ultimatum

Brock Lesnar has responded to news of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected prior to his fight against Mark Hunt at UFC 200.

In a brief statement provided exclusively to The Associated Press, Lesnar said, “We will get to the bottom of this.”

The Associated Press also received copies of three letters from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency to Lesnar informing the fighter that he had passed tests on three samples submitted over a nine-day period in mid-June.

Having lost to Lesnar at UFC 200, Hunt said he has asked UFC President Dana White for half of Lesnar’s record $2.5 million guaranteed purse or to be released from his contract effective immediately.

“They say they are trying to clean up the sport, but it doesn’t feel like it,” Hunt told MarkHunt.TV. “The UFC is basically saying if you cheat you won’t be penalized.”

He continued, “This is the third time I’ve had to fight a cheater in my career. The other two times I didn’t ask for compensation, but this is the third time and I’m sick of them getting away with cheating. I’ve told Dana that I want a release from the UFC if they don’t sort this out.”

WWE Issues Statement On Brock Lesnar’s Potential Anti-Doping Policy Violation; Is He Still Wrestling At SummerSlam?

After UFC issued a statement Friday saying Brock Lesnar was notified by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected on June 28, his status with WWE immediately came in to question. As such, the organization issued the following brief statement on the company website and to various members of the media.

Brock Lesnar has not performed for WWE since WrestleMania and is not scheduled to return until Sunday, Aug. 21.

While it remains unclear whether WWE will discipline Lesnar, their statement indicates that he is still scheduled to face Randy Orton at SummerSlam on August 21 in Brooklyn, New York.

Lesnar made a successful return to MMA on July 9 at UFC 200, defeating Mark Hunt by unanimous decision. The results of the sampling were received by the USADA on Thursday.

Brock Lesnar Flagged For Potential Anti-Doping Policy Violation, UFC Issues Statement

WWE Superstar and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar has been informed by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected on June 28, 2016.

The UFC announced the following Friday night on its official website:

The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Brock Lesnar of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection on June 28, 2016. USADA received the testing results from the June 28, 2016 sample collection from the WADA-accredited UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory on the evening of July 14, 2016.

USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full fair legal review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. The Nevada State Athletic Commission also retains jurisdiction over this matter as the sample collection was performed in close proximity to Lesnar’s bout at UFC 200 in Las Vegas.

Consistent with all previous potential anti-doping violations, additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.

This news comes six days after Lesnar made a successful return to MMA at UFC 200, defeating Mark Hunt by unanimous decision.

Chris Jericho On Why There Isn’t “Stupid Idiot” Merchandise, Social Media’s Impact on Wrestling

Don’t expect WWE to release any merchandise featuring Chris Jericho’s oft-used phrase “stupid idiot.”

“I have a real rule that when I’m heel I don’t want the WWE selling my merchandise,” the WWE Superstar said during an interview with Fansided.com promoting The Jericho Network on PodcastOne.

“I don’t want someone in the crowd wearing a shirt with that phrase and thinking it’s funny when it’s supposed to be an insult. I still have enough old school in me that I don’t want people wearing my slogans or phrases that are supposed to be booing me. Does it really matter? Probably not. But it’s one of those things to me that it does matter. Maybe it will piss you off that there are no shirts out there so it will make you boo or hate me more.”

Jericho, who has had an online presence since his time in WCW in the late 1990s, was asked if social media has helped the progression of professional wrestling.

“To me it doesn’t really matter. It’s the way of the world now and you have to adapt. I don’t think the world is better. Growing up in my era things were magical as you didn’t know wrestling wasn’t fully legit. You were watching stories unfold as they were meant to do. Same thing going to a movie. I don’t want to read the plot line before I go because I want to see what the director’s way that he wanted. One of my favorites things to do but also least favorite things to do is look up a band’s set list while they are on tour. But it was sure a lot more fun when you didn’t know if your favorite song was going to play,” Jericho said.

“I don’t know if social media has hurt wrestling. But I think it has created a certain sense of entitlement to a certain part of the fan base. They think they should know everything and it eliminates that magical sense. Like when I return and nobody knows about it, I like that. I pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes and it’s getting harder and harder to do these days.”

Jericho also discussed the process of launching his podcast network, his current run in WWE, and Fozzy. Check out the interview here.

Triple H Says Brock Lesnar’s UFC Return Was A Good Thing For WWE

Triple H recently did an interview with ESPN where Brock Lesnar was a big topic of discussion. Despite Stephanie McMahon saying that WWE didn’t necessarily “support” Brock’s return to UFC, Triple H seemed to indicate that he thought the crossover was a good thing for WWE.

“It’s huge,” Triple H said of Lesnar’s UFC return. “I think any time that you can have a WWE performer that can cross over into something else and have that kind of a night or a performance, whether that’s making a movie or television show or competing in the UFC, that’s huge. To me, it speaks to the amazing athlete that Brock Lesnar is.”

The Game continued to put over Lesnar’s athletic abilities. He says that Lesnar, who is featured on the cover of WWE 2K17, amazed him with his ability to get back into MMA at “such an elite level” and be that dominant.

“We have said it a million times about Brock but I think it’s worth repeating. He’s a once-in-a-lifetime athlete that comes along and is just — you can see it when you look at him,” Triple H said. “Guys don’t come along that quick, that big, that fast, that aggressive and with that mentality. He is a once-in-a-lifetime combat athlete. Certainly he helps UFC, banking on Brock Lesnar’s name in the very beginning of him becoming a UFC star and showing his dominance in it. And now it’s the same thing, back and forth. They benefit from it, we benefit from it and it has been great. My hat’s off to Brock, he’s an amazing, amazing athlete.”

Nash Says Reigns Will Recover From Suspension, Speaks On The Club Using His Hand Gesture

Former World Heavyweight Champion Kevin Nash recently spoke to Sports Illustrated about current events in WWE. The Hall of Famer talked about Roman Reigns being suspended for failing a drug test, which has reportedly gotten Reigns major heat with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. Nash believes that despite this being a bad time for Reigns, he will go on to be a major star.

“Every time I talk to him, he seems like a really well-adjusted, very nice gentleman,” Nash said. “I think he’s got a great look, I think he’s very athletic, I think things will work out for him. It’s just a bad time for him right now, but he’ll be a big star for that company.”

With last Thursday marking the 20-year anniversary of the formation of the New World Order in WCW, Nash was asked about The Club using their “too sweet” hand gesture on TV. Nash also took the opportunity to address what he feels is mishandling of AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows by the WWE creative team.

“If you’re over enough to use that, and the people don’t sh– on you, you’re over. I don’t mind it at all,” Nash said. “I just didn’t like them bringing in Doc and Anderson, then having that six-man elimination match [against Roman Reigns and The Uso’s]. There is no reason to beat those two guys coming in the door. You’re missing heel talent, and you’re going to beat these two guys? But they corrected it. It’s almost like, ‘No one can get over you except us,’ even though you were over someplace else. They make the reference to AJ like he was a Japan guy–he was a TNA guy.
