Maria Kanellis Talks About Donald Trump Critiquing Her Appearance On Celebrity Apprentice

TNA star Maria Kanellis spoke with ETOnline.com this week about her experience interacting with Donald Trump when she was a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice back in 2009.

Ironically, Trump “fired” her on the show because he did not like her “locker room talk.”  “He fired me for what I said, and what he said was much worse so,” Kanellis said. “My hope is that he gets fired as the Republican nominee.”

She also shared a story of Donald Trump critiquing her appearance and encouraging her to have a mole removed, because he deemed it to be an imperfection. “I have a mole on my shoulder and he said to me that I should have the mole removed because it is an imperfection,” she said. “I just felt as if that comment didn’t belong in the boardroom, I felt as if he should not be making comments like that to me and telling me that a part of my body is an imperfection.”

“It wasn’t something that bothered me [at the time],” she continued, “but as a presidential nominee, it bothers me because of all the recent comments and things that he has said or that has come out. It just shows more and more of what his character is.”

Paige Talks About Her WWE Future, Alberto Open To Working For TNA (Videos)

TMZ Sports caught up with Alberto El Patron and girlfriend Paige while in New York City to promote Friday night’s Combate Americas MMA event. At a VIP meet & greet press event on Tuesday night in NYC, it was announced that Alberto is now the President of Combate Americas (Video). Here are some highlights:

– Del Rio is very excited about his new role with Mexican MMA group Combate Americas. he will continue wrestling on the indies and sounds very open to working for TNA

– Paige says she will get into more trouble if she talks about her situation, saying she doesn’t want anymore trouble. She hopes 2017 will be better. Del Rio says WWE can do what they want in regards to the Wellness Policy, calling it “same shit, different day.” Paige indicates she will return to the company but doesn’t sound so sure about it. She says she will recover from neck surgery for about 6-7 months and plans on being at Del Rio’s side the whole time.

– Del Rio does not believe he will ever return to a WWE ring. He wanted to leave this time and wasn’t happy for the past 6 months but he will always be grateful to WWE. He also supports Paige staying in wrestling. She says she loves wrestling and will stay in the business for as long as she can, if it’s with WWE or not. She also jokes about having such a long-term contract

– Del Rio downplays the stabbing incident in San Antonio, saying he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and a guy dissed his girl. Del Rio says the situation is past them now and that it lasted just 25 or 30 seconds. He says he’s fine now and doesn’t want to talk about the story. He thinks it’s ridiculous that people are speculating on the incident. Del Rio thanks fans for their support and says he’s just like them, he gets in trouble and out of trouble the same

WWE Smackdown Reaction (10/11)

Ziggler opened up the show and the crowd chanted “you deserve it!” as he held up the Intercontinental Championship. Ziggler stated that for the first time in 12 years he doubted himself and thought he had made a mistake before his match at No Mercy. Ziggler claimed as soon as he started walking down the entrance ramp he knew that the WWE is where he belonged and that there was no way in hell he wasn’t leaving with the IC title.

The Miz interrupted and came down to the ring. He didn’t make eye contact with Ziggler for a couple of moments. Maryse was along side him and they were both wearing sunglasses. The Miz stated that he wanted to take a moment to mourn the death of the Intercontinental Championship. The Miz claimed that he was the one that brought the prestige back to the IC title. The Miz then stated that he wanted his gold back.

Ziggler then rolled a video of The Miz crying after the match at No Mercy. The Miz went to respond but the audience broke out in a “you were crying!” chant. The Miz stated that he wasn’t done with Ziggler. The Spirit Squad came out and challenged Dolph to a match.

Handicap Match: The Spirit Squad vs Dolph Ziggler

The Spirit Squad started out in control of the match. Dolph battled back and knocked them both out of the ring. Mauro Ranallo accidentally referred to Ziggler as Daniel Bryan and JBL called him out on it. Ranallo was going to send Smackdown to break and almost referred to Ziggler as Bryan once again.

When Smackdown returned, the Spirit Squad once again had control of the match. The Miz was ringside and enjoyed watching Ziggler get beatdown. Ziggler finally fought back and hit the Spirit Squad with a Double DDT. Ziggler hit Kenny with a Superkick for the victory.

After the match, The Miz attacked Ziggler and hit him with a Skull Crushing Finale. JBL announced that The Miz gets a mandatory rematch for the IC title. The Spirit Squad went to attack Ziggler again but Heath Slater and Rhyno came out and made the save.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

Reaction: Dolph Ziggler and the Miz had another good promo to start the show. The Miz has been terrific as of late. He has always been a solid heel but he has really taken it to another level recently. My only concern with another Ziggler vs Miz match is that it might be impossible to top the one at No Mercy. It will be difficult to replicate that match and get the WWE Universe as emotionally invested as they were on Sunday.

Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan challenged Monday Night Raw to a series of traditional Survivor Series matches at the upcoming PPV. The three matches proposed by Shane and Daniel were as follows:

  • 5 vs 5 Elimination Match (Top 5 Male Superstars on Each Brand)
  • 5 vs 5 Elimination Match (Top 5 Female Superstars on Each Brand)
  • 5 vs 5 Elimination Match (Top 5 Tag Teams On Each Brand)

Carmella vs Naomi

Carmella attacked Naomi during her entrance and Smackdown went to commercial. When Smackdown returned, Carmella was in control. The crowd was chanting “how you doin?!” and Carmella was told them to shut up. Alexa Bliss was shown watching the match with her arms crossed. Carmella posed for the crowd and Naomi took advantage. Naomi hit a Jawbreaker and followed it up with a series of kicks.

Naomi hit a Crossbody off the top rope but Carmella kicked out at two. Nikki Bella then came down to the ring to attack Carmella but the referees blocked her. Carmella became distracted by this and Naomi rolled her up for the pinfall victory. After the match, Nikki Bella chased Carmella around the ring. She caught her for a moment in the ring but Carmella escaped by hopping over the barricade and running through the crowd. Carmella seemed to misjudge the height of the barricade and had trouble getting over it. Nikki actually had to help Carmella over it while pretending to stop her.

Winner: Naomi

Alexa Bliss was interviewed backstage and stated that she could beat Naomi any day of the week. Daniel Bryan appeared and made a match between Alexa Bliss and Naomi for next Tuesday’s episode of Smackdown.
Jimmy Uso vs Chad Gable

Jey Uso and Jason Jordan were ringside for the match. Jimmy controlled the bginning of this match. Gable fought back but Jey Uso wound up playing a pivotal role in this match. Jimmy Uso rolled Gable up and Jey Uso assisted in the pin without the referee noticing.

Winner: Jimmy Uso

The Hype Bros were getting themselves hyped up about something backstage when The Ascension showed up. The Ascension simply started the Hype Bros down and walked away.

Reaction: The first hour of Smackdown was good. The major difference I’ve noticed recently between Smackdown and Raw is that everything makes sense on Smackdown. The Usos have a problem with American Alpha so the singles match made sense. Alexa Bliss just lost to Naomi on Sunday and she is pissed about it. It makes sense that she will be facing off against Naomi next week.

The Ascension came down to the entrance ramp and observed The Vaudevillians and Hype Bros match last week. Now, The Ascension having a feud with the Hype Bros may not sound great but at least a story is being told here. There are moments during every episode of Raw that I don’t understand why a particular promo or match is even happening.

AJ Styles vs James Ellsworth w/ Special Referee Dean Ambrose

The match was playing in the corner of the screen during the commercial break without any sound. Ambrose was coaching Ellsworth and James hit a thunderous Irish Whip. When Smackdown returned from the break, Styles had Ellsworth trapped in the corner.

Styles was barking at Dean Ambrose and Ellsworth hit Styles with a vicious right hand. Styles got fired up and hit a Backbreaker on Ellsworth. There were dueling “lets go Ellsworth) and (AJ Styles!) chants. Styles locked in the Calf Crusher and Ellsworth tapped out. However, referee Dean Ambrose decided to take a phone call and didn’t see Ellsworth tapping. Styles slammed Ellsworth into the barricade outside the ring.

Ambrose went to take a selfie with a female in the audience but Styles got annoyed and started shouting at him. The action spilled back into the ring where Styles hit the Styles Clash but Ambrose refused to count to three. Ambrose hit the Dirty Deeds on Styles and dragged Ellsworth on top of him. Styles kicked out at two. Ambrose went back outside the ring and had a sip of coffee. Ambrose got back in the ring and hit Styles with another Dirty Deeds. This time Styles didn’t kick out and James Ellsworth got the victory.

Winner: James Ellsworth

Reaction: Overall, this segment was amusing. I thought it dragged on a bit and became tedious towards the end of it. It appears that Styles and Ambrose will be continuing their feud. I was hoping that Styles might move onto another feud after his victory over Cena and Ambrose at No Mercy. There might be some that complain that this somehow devalues AJ Styles as the champion. I disagree, simply because Styles lost in such a ridiculous way due to Ambrose being the referee. Styles will certainly get his revenge on Ambrose in the next coming weeks.

Randy Orton had a discussion with Kane backstage. Orton stated that in his world there is just pain and agony. Orton asked Kane if he wanted to come along for the ride and Kane said he was in. Kane then said that Orton has issues. Randy smiles and walked away.

AJ Styles was screaming at Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan backstage. Shane McMahon then stated that Styles should be mad at himself for naming Ellsworth as his opponent. Styles then stated that he was going to have to take matters into his own hands from now on and walked away. Daniel Bryan then told Shane that he had a plan for James Ellsworth on next week’s episode of Smackdown.

Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper vs Randy Orton & Kane

Harper and Wyatt cut a promo before the match. Harper stated that this world has put him to sleep but now he has seen the light and is fully awake. Wyatt then referred to himself and Harper as gods. Wyatt told Orton to bring on his monster so that he and Harper could destroy them both. Smackdown then went to another commercial.

When Smackdown returned, Orton and Kane still hadn’t made their entrance. They finally did and the match started off with Wyatt and Kane. Wyatt had control early but Kane hit him with a big boot. Wyatt rolled to the outside of the ring and Orton hit him with a couple of punches. Wyatt got back into the ring and Kane went for Chokeslam but Wyatt was able to block it. Wyatt rolled outside of the ring again and amazingly Smackdown went to another commercial break.

Kane fought back and hit Harper with a DDT. Orton and Wyatt were then tagged in and Orton hit Bray with a Powerslam. The action spilled outside the ring and Orton sent Harper flying over the announce table. Orton then slammed Wyatt into the steel steps outside the ring. Wyatt and Orton got back into the ring and Wyatt begged for mercy. Orton hit the DDT on Wyatt while he was hanging from the second rope. Randy geared up for the RKO but became distracted by Harper and Kane fighting outside the ring. Orton went for the RKO but Wyatt shoved him into a Superkick from Harper.

Wyatt went for another Senton but Orton rolled out of the way. Orton went to tag in Kane but the lights went out. When the lights came back on Kane disappeared and Harper was standing where Kane was. Orton turned around and walked directly into a Sister Abigail. The show went off air with the announcers wondering what happened to Kane.

Winners: Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper

Reaction: The mind games continue between Orton and Wyatt. Bray Wyatt has now won two matches in a row. I can’t believe it. Overall, this was another good episode of Smackdown. I’ve come to expect Smackdown to be good every week. I cannot say the same for Raw. Smackdown may not be great every single week but at the very least everything that happens on the show makes sense. In my opinion, Smackdown is consistently entertaining and tonight’s show was just another example of that.

What did you think of this week’s episode of Smackdown? Let us know in the comments below.

John Cena & Nikki Bella Team With Dolph Ziggler, What You Didn’t See On SmackDown

WWE taped Main Event matches with Jack Swagger vs. Tyler Breeze and The Vaudevillains vs. The Hype Bros last night in San Jose after SmackDown went off the air.

After that match, the dark main event saw John Cena and Nikki Bella team with WWE IC Champion Dolph Ziggler to defeat Baron Corbin, The Miz and Carmella.

Corbin also won tonight’s pre-show dark match, squashing a local wrestler.

SmackDown Challenges RAW For WWE Survivor Series

Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon issued a big Survivor Series challenge to the RAW brand on this week’s SmackDown.

They have challenged RAW to a 5 vs. 5 Traditional Elimination featuring 5 top stars from each brand, a Women’s Traditional Elimination match with 5 of the best women from each brand and a Traditional Elimination Tag Team match with 5 of the best tag teams from each brand.

Survivor Series takes place on 11/20 from Toronto at the Air Canada Centre.

Discussion: Which 5 Superstars would you pick from each brand to participate in this match?

Daniel Bryan Makes WWE World Title Match For Next Week

SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan announced on tonight’s “Talking Smack” post-show that James Ellsworth will get a shot against WWE World Champion AJ Styles on next week’s SmackDown in Denver.

The match was made after Ellsworth defeated Styles in a non-title match tonight, thanks to an assist from special referee Dean Ambrose.

Video: Curt Hawkins Comments On Not Making His SmackDown Debut As Planned

WWE uploaded a SmackDown Fallout video late Tuesday night addressing Curt Hawkins not making his debut as originally scheduled. Hawkins has been repackaged with a new gimmick and announced at Sunday’s No Mercy that he would debut on the October 11th episode of SmackDown.

In the video uploaded by WWE, Andrea D’Marco approaches Hawkins to ask him why he didn’t appear on SmackDown. He replies that “Time waits for no man, except… Curt Hawkins.”

The real reason for Hawkins’ debut being cancelled is unknown as of press time.

Ryback Shoots On Steroids & Brock Lesnar: Part-Timers Need To Be Tested

Outspoken former WWE star Ryback recently appeared on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio where he discussed steroids and the highly-anticipated rematch between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg.

During the interview, Ryback admits to experimenting with steroids early on in his caeer. Ryback says he hasn’t used them in some time and is proud of what he’s achieved with his body “naturally.” He says he isn’t taking any kinds of PEDs, and could pass testing for something like an MMA fight. Ryback noted that he’s working on his own line of nutritional supplements.

When asked about Goldberg vs. Lesnar, Ryback said that he thinks he should be the one to face Goldberg. Ryback says he grew up watching Goldberg and is a huge fan of the former WCW Champion. Ryback says that fans already saw Goldberg vs. Lesnar 13 years ago, and that the current generation would rather see him and Goldberg mix it up.

Ryback made it clear that the thinks Lesnar, Goldberg, and any other part-time performers should be tested just like the full-time performers. “Anyone who steps foot in a WWE ring, whether it’s one a year or 300 days a year, should be f**king tested,” Ryback said.

WWE Says Paige Tested Positive For An Illegal Substance – Not A Prescription Drug

WWE is denying claims by Paige (and her family) that her latest wellness policy violation was triggered by a legal painkiller she had a prescription for. In a statement issued to the NY Post regarding what caused her latest suspension, a WWE spokesperson said:

“Saraya-Jade Bevis tested positive for an illegal substance, not a prescription drug. In addition, WWE is providing world-class medical care for her in-ring injury.”

This comes after several members of her family posted messages on Facebook claiming she was suspended after testing positive for a legal painkiller, which she has a prescription for. Shortly after WWE announced her suspension, the 24-year-old Superstar tweeted:

WWE’s Diamond Dallas Page DVD Gets A Name, Torrie Wilson On New Magazine Cover, RAW Note

The set will focus on Page’s in-ring career, all the way to his yoga career and role in the rehabilitation of Jake Roberts and Scott Hall. The set is expected to include lots of new interview footage.

– From the ‘where are they now’ file: Former WWE and WCW star Torrie Wilson is still doing fitness modeling, and she’ll be gracing the cover of the next issue of MAX Sports & Fitness magazine. She posted the below photo of the cover on her Twitter:

– Nielsen ranked RAW #1 in their Twitter rankings for Monday Night. The show had 133,000 Tweets, which is slightly down from last week’s 140,000 Tweets. The 133,000 Tweets came from 31,000 unique authors.

Update On RAW’s Cruiserweight Division & Vince McMahon’s Involvement

WWE used to weigh their competitors during the Cruiserweight Classic to keep them under the 205 pound weight limit, but the company is no longer doing that on RAW. It’s unknown if WWE will maintain the strict weight limit going forward. Some fans noted that Brian Kendrick was billed as 150 pounds during the CWC, but has been billed at 170 pounds on RAW. Sin Cara was previously billed as 205, but during his cruiserweight tag match on RAW he was billed as 198.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter speculated that Vince McMahon may be behind the slight changes to the cruiserweight division. The WWE Chairman had very little to do with the CWC, but obviously is overseeing the division on RAW.

Noam Dar was backstage at Monday’s RAW, but there’s no word on when he will make his TV debut.

WWE SmackDown Results & Discussion (10/11)

The October 11, 2016 edition of WWE SmackDown aired live on the USA Network from the SAP Center in San Jose, CA.

– Dolph Ziggler comes out to the ring to open up the show and talk about his Intercontinental Title victory last night at No Mercy. Ziggler holds up his IC Title belt and tells the crowd “We did it,” but then is interrupted by The Miz and Maryse. The Miz says he needs to take a moment to mourn the death of the Intercontinental Championship. Ziggler gets in Miz’s face, then The Miz brings out The Spirit Squad, and we have a match.

Dolph Zigger def. The Spirit Squad: The Miz is on commentary for this handicap match. Ziggler starts off with some kicks on Kenny and clotheslines him to the outside. The Miz distracts Ziggler, allowing Kenny to get some offense in on the IC Champion. Ziggler comes back with a double DDT on both members of the Squad, then a Stinger splash on Kenny. Ziggler gets double teamed and hit with a flying clothesline for a two count. Kenny goes for a powerbomb on Ziggler, but Ziggler gets out and hits a superkick for the win. The Miz immediately attacks Ziggler after the bell and hits the Skull Crushing Finale. The Spirit Squad goes to continue beating down Ziggler, but Heath Slater and Rhino make the save and chase off the heels.

– Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan are backstage to announce their plans for Survivor Series. Shane and Daniel propose that the 5 best male competitors, the 5 best female competitors, and the 5 best tag teams from RAW and SmackDown should all do battle against each other at SmackDown.

Naomi def. Carmella: We see footage from earlier today of Carmella attacking Nikki Bella in the back. Carmella attacks Naomi before the bell and the referee separates them. The bell rings and Carmella controls the opening moments of the match. Alexa Bliss is shown in the back watching on a monitor. Naomi comes back with a series of kicks and flying cross body off the top for a two count. Carmella dodges and splash in the corner and drops Naomi. Nikki Bella comes out to ringside and distracts Carmella, allowing Naomi to roll her up from behind for the win.

– Alexa Bliss cuts a promo in the back saying she could beat Naomi any day of the week. Daniel Bryan walks in and gives Alexa a match against Naomi next Tuesday on SmackDown.

Jimmy Uso def. Chad Gable: Gable attacks Jimmy Uso aggressively off the bell, and works the left arm of Uso. Gable hits a twisting flying clothesline off the middle rope then a t-bone suplex. Gable follows up with a armbar on Uso, but Uso gets out and pins Gable. Jey assists the pin from the outside, and Jimmy gets the win.

– The Hype Bros are in the locker room talking when they get interrupted by The Ascension. The Ascension members stare at the Hype Bros without saying anything, then walk off.

– “The face that runs the place” AJ Styles is out to the ring to kick off the second hour of SmackDown. AJ cuts a heel promo on the crowd and talks about beating both Dean Ambrose and John Cena in the same night. Styles says he’s going to defend his title right away, and goes to introduce his opponent, but Dean Ambrose interrupts. AJ says he wasn’t talking about Ambrose and tells him to get lost. Ambrose cuts a promo on Styles and says he’s not leaving the ring. Styles tells his opponent to come on out anyways, and it’s James Ellsworth, the jobber from a few weeks back. Styles tells Ellsworth that SmackDown is the land of opportunity, and Ellsworth is getting a shot at the champion tonight, “in a non-title match of course.” Ambrose says he kind of wants to see this, and goes to sit on commentary. Styles says Ambrose isn’t allowed to distract Ellsworth from the commentary table, and tells him to go backstage. Daniel Bryan comes out next and says this match will happen now, and Dean Ambrose will be the special guest referee.

James Ellsworth def. AJ Styles: Ambrose checks the competitors’ boots before allowing them to start. AJ completely controls the opening minutes of the match. After getting distracted arguing with Ambrose, AJ gets caught with a right hand from Ellsworth. AJ gets distracted by Ambrose again, allowing Ellsworth to roll him up from behind. AJ comes back with a clothesline and a suplex. AJ hits a backbreaker then puts Ellsworth in the Calf Crusher. Ellsworth taps out, but Ambrose is distracted by his cell phone and can’t make the call. AJ throws Ellsworth outside and beats him down around ringside. Ambrose starts counting him out quickly, so AJ takes things back in the ring. AJ throws Ellsworth back outside, but Ambrose throws him in. AJ hits the Styles Clash on Ellsworth and pins him, but Ambrose stops his count at two. AJ gets up and Ambrose hits the Dirty Deeds on AJ. Ambrose puts Ellsworth ontop of AJ then starts counting, but AJ gets his shoulder up. AJ hits another Dirty Deeds on AJ, puts Ellsworth on top of AJ again and this time counts faster to three. James Ellsworth now has a win over AJ Styles.

– Randy Orton talks with Kane in the back about their tag match against The Wyatt Family tonight. Kane tells Orton he has issues.

– AJ Styles chews out Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon in the back about what happened in the ring. McMahon tells AJ not to be angry at Daniel Bryan or Dean Ambrose, and AJ has officialy lost to James Ellsworth. AJ says he’s going to take things into his own hands.

Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper def. Randy Orton & Kane: Wyatt and Harper cut a promo on Orton before the match. After several minutes of back-and-forth action, Orton starts controlling the match against Harper. Orton hits a superplex off the top on Harper, then Kane tags in and continues the offense on Harper. Harper ducks a clothesline from Kane and Wyatt pulls Kane to the outside and beats him down. Wyatt throws Kane back in the ring and hits a senton splash. Harper tags back in and keeps Kane grounded. Kane drops Harper with a DDT then Orton and Wyatt get the hot tags. Orton lays out Wyatt with clotheslines then hits a spinning powerslam. Orton and Wyatt start brawling around ringside and Orton throws Bray into the ring steps. Back in the ring, Orton ducks a clothesline and hits his patented DDT on Wyatt off the middle rope. Orton turns his attention to Luke Harper but Kane stops him from entering the ring. The referee chases off Kane, then Harper runs in and distracts Orton. Wyatt drops Orton from behind, but misses the senton bomb. Orton and Wyatt are down when the lights go out. When the lights come back on, Kane is gone and Harper is standing in his place on the apron. Orton turns around into a Sister Abigail from Wyatt and Wyatt scores the pinfall victory.

Understanding How Paige’s Painkiller Prescription Probably Violated WWE’s Wellness Policy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rlpQle2Zvo

One of the big news stories in pro wrestling so far this week is WWE suspending Paige (real name Saraya-Jade Bevis) for her second violation of their Talent Wellness Program just a few weeks after her previous 30 day suspension ended. Paige and her loved starting speaking openly about the suspension almost right away, with Paige tweeting (I’ve fixed her formatting for clarity’s sake) “Same shit different day.  Kids…Please don’t get prescriptions or doctors notes. Not acceptable.” and “Rules apply depending on your status.” Her boyfriend, Alberto El Patron/Alberto Del Rio, quickly chimed in to back up her story, with her father, Ricky Knight, and brothers, Zak and Roy, all posting on Facebook that she was flagged for doctor-prescribed painkillers.

So, what makes this a violation? First, let’s reexamine the key section of what Zak wrote:

She has gone private and went to a different Dr, who is amazing I’ll add. He gave her PRESCRIPTION pain killers to ease the pain that she’s in 24/7 and I have witnessed.

They’ve not excepted [sic] this and this leads to yet another suspension.

Nobody is disputing that Paige has a legitimate neck injury to the point where she may need narcotic/opiate painkillers to be functional. It’s been reported in the past (and was alluded to by Dave Meltzer on Monday night’s Wrestling Observer Radio for F4WOnline subscribers) that WWE prefers to have talent get painkiller prescriptions from the company doctors. Presumably, this also extends to any specialists that the company sends talent to. This way, WWE avoids the perils of talent going doctor shopping, as the performers’ use of dangerous and addictive drugs is being tracks by trusted physicians

https://twitter.com/RealPaigeWWE/status/785511161341046784?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

The implication of Zak Knight/Zak Bevis writing that Paige “has gone private” is that she got a second opinion from a doctor other than the one(s) that WWE sent her to. That means that they’re going to be more scrutinizing of prescriptions for banned substances. Still, the written policy has a procedure for requesting a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) to a banned drug, and there are no medications or classes of medications listed as ineligible for exemptions That said, according to the policy, it appears that the talent just needs to have the doctor provide a copy of the prescription if the drug is being taken for less than 60 days.

If “the use of such prohibited drug is required for more than sixty (60) consecutive days,” that’s when the more formal TUE process must be undertaken. According to the policy, “A WWE Talent in need of a TUE must immediately notify, or cause his/her issuing physician to notify, the Medical Director of the existence of a prescription for a prohibited drug and the medical need for the TUE.” A TUE lasts one year, and “A urine sample which is found to contain a prohibited drug will not be deemed a positive test result if such sample was provided by a WWE Talent with a valid and effective TUE for that prohibited drug.”

https://twitter.com/RealPaigeWWE/status/785511591353679873

If a performer tests positive for a banned prescription drug and does not have a TUE, then they “may not challenge a determination that he/she violated the Policy by contending, in connection with a ‘no fault or negligence’ defense or otherwise, that he/she believed he/she would qualify or had qualified for a TUE.” In other words, don’t plead ignorance. In Paige’s case, it appears that she’s saying that whatever happened with her, which presumably involves a non-WWE doctor, was not substantively different from other cases where the talent was not deemed to be in violation.

Also, specific to painkillers, “a test that confirms the presence of drug metabolite concentrations in excess of the levels expected when a drug prohibited by this Policy is being used consistent with the therapeutic management of pain will be treated as a positive test.” There’s no specific definition, numerically speaking, given in the policy. Since continuous use of narcotic painkillers can, even if taken as directed, lead to the patient building up a tolerance and requiring higher doses to get the same effect, this isn’t inherently a sign of abuse, but for the safety of the talent, it’s definitely cause for concern.

Matt Hardy Says He’s Interested In Purchasing TNA

Matt Hardy is interested in purchasing TNA Wrestling. Hardy agrees with the virtually unanimous opinion that “TNA” is a bad name for a wrestling company and says it’s the first thing he would change. He tweeted on Tuesday:

As noted, TNA will tape a “Total Nonstop Deletion” special edition of Impact from Hardy’s North Carolina compound later this year. The episode is expected to air on December 15th.

Titus tries to hold another “Titus Brand” press conference to address his loss to R-Truth but only Tom Phillips shows up and he has more technical difficulties.

Paige’s Brothers Comment On Her WWE Suspension, Painkiller Use

As reported on Monday, Paige has been suspended for 60 days due to her second violation of the WWE Wellness Policy. It was later revealed by her father that she has been taking painkillers for a longterm neck injury.

Paige’s brothers Zak and Roy went on Facebook yesterday and also commented on the painkiller use, saying her neck is “fooked” at just age 24 and that she’s in pain 24/7. Zak also commented that Paige went to a private doctor for the prescription as she waits on potentially career-ending neck surgery.

Below are their posts:

It’s worth noting that Paige’s Twitter comments on her suspension are still live. You can see those below, along with a tweet she made from New York City yesterday:

Daniel Puder On WWE Not Honoring His Contract, Kurt Angle Incident, Bill DeMott

Former WWE superstar Daniel Puder appeared on the Jordan Garber NOW podcast last week to discuss his career in wrestling and the evolution of his persona for WWE.  Puder spoke about getting his start in the business, winning Tough Enough, his incident with Kurt Angle and what it was like to train under Bill DeMott. Here are some highlights of what he said about:

Winning Tough Enough:

“I was on the SmackDown show. Miz was getting 75,000 unique hits on his website everyday and i was only getting like 50 or 60 K. I was like no way I’m done he won. So I went out there and they were like ‘You won’ and I just went nuts. It was crazy.”

WWE not owning up to the agreement on his contact:

“I won the contract people talk about different amounts I got quarter million my first year. They gave me a crappy deal at the end of the first year. I looked at the situation about how they were treating me when I was busting my butt if they are just going to offer not what the agreement was than I’m not going to stick around and be a part of it.”

Bill DeMott’s style of teaching wrestlers:

“One time he bent my finger backwards when I didn’t do a move right. DeMott held my finger back one day and I looked at him and I smiled and I said are you going to break it or are you gonna show me how to do the move, he never did it again and respected me for who I was. Very blessed to have him in my life. He’s a hard ass and I got good because of it.”

His incident with Kurt Angle:

“I kicked his butt back a little bit and I showed him. I really pushed him he didn’t expect it coming like that and I just had a lot of fun with it.”
