Old Triple H Story About Trump Believing Vince Limo Explosion Angle Goes Viral

Back in 2008, while in New York doing promotional work for WrestleMania 24 the following weekend in Orlando, Triple H walked into the Sirius XM studios for an appearance on the Opie and Anthony morning show. Sam Roberts, known now as a wrestling podcaster and sort of replacement for the aforementioned Opie (and that’s way too low a story to get into here), jokingly asked Triple H how worried he was when Vince McMahon was “blown up” in an angle less than a year earlier. This was Triple H’s answer, which got a lot more interesting when people rediscovered it this week:

What kills me is, so many people called – I mean the office the next day… I’m not kidding you. Like, and they’ll probably get mad a me for saying it, but like Trump called and is like, “did something happen to Vince?”

Maybe he’s joking. Even if he’s not, it’s possible that Donald Trump only heard vague word of mouth that was confusing in light of how WWE handled the angle, keeping Vince out of public view and flying the company flag at half mast on the roof of Titan Tower. But the possibility that he had seen the angle (which was very obviously an angle, even if a noticeable minority of fans didn’t get it) and thought it was real becomes tantalizing with him about to become President of the United States.

As a result, the video has posted everywhere today, characterized as the latest in unearthed Trump gems. Whether or not it really is Trump buying into it, just a misunderstood joke, or somewhere in between is up to you.

We’ve reached out to WWE to see if they would like to clarify Triple H’s statement, especially now that he’s a company executive in his secret identity of Paul Levesque

WWE’s UK Press Event, Johnny Saint To WWE, Good News From Vader

– The final RAW before WrestleMania 33 will take place on 3/27 from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The pre-sale code is WWERAW.

– Ahead of Thursday’s WWE press conference from the O2 Arena in London, there’s a rumor that WWE could be announcing a WWE Network show featuring all UK talent. Triple H, Finn Balor and William Regal will be on hand. It’s also worth noting that British wrestling legend Johnny Saint just announced that he’ll be moving to Orlando soon to work as a trainer at the Performance Center for 6 months.

– WWE Hall of Famer Booker T will be making an announcement this afternoon.

– Vader tweeted some good news on Tuesday, noting that one of his doctors has given him a brighter outlook as it relates to his health. Vader revealed last month that doctors had given him 2 years to live as a result of congestive heart failure.

Smash Of Demolition Comments On The New Day Breaking Their Record

The New Day are now the longest-reigning tag team champions in WWE history, having surpassed the previous record (478 days) set by Demolition.

Former Demolition member Smash has since commented on his team’s long-standing record being broken. He congratulated New Day and commented on why he and Ax did not make any appearances on WWE television as part of the angle.

Perhaps it’s due to their involvement in the ongoing concussion lawsuit against WWE.

Randy Orton Talks About Chris Jericho & Brock Lesnar’s Backstage Altercation At SummerSlam

Randy Orton recently spoke to Sports Illustrated about his memorable match against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, his guest spot on the USA Network series Shooter, John Cena’s success in the entertainment industry and more.

You may recall that Chris Jericho and Brock Lesnar were involved in a backstage altercation at SummerSlam after Lesnar brutalized Orton in the ring and Jericho thought Lesnar had been reckless. During an interview with SI’s Justin Barrasso, Orton confirmed that an altercation did take place and he thinks it’s awesome Jericho was concerned for his safety.

“Basically, what happened is Jericho saw what was going on in the ring and wanted answers as to whether my best interests were in mind as far as my health and safety,” Orton said. “I had my family there, sitting front row, and Chris knew that, as well. He was just coming up to check on his boy, that’s what it boiled down to, and I think that’s awesome.”

He continued, “You hear all these things about how they were going to fight, but I don’t think Jericho wanted to fight Brock, I’m just going to throw that out there. I think he was coming up to just make sure everything was cool. It’s unfortunate that in that small space, with the dozen bodies in there, somehow that leaked and everybody knew about it. That’s very unfortunate. It was blown way out of proportion, and Jericho just wanted to check on one of his fellow boys in the locker room.”

Orton says he’s got a lot of respect for Brock and has fond memories of their time together in OVW, one of WWE’s former developmental territories. Despite all of Brock’s success in WWE and MMA, Orton says he remains the fun and humble guy he’s always been.

Matt Hardy Invites Multiple WWE Tag Teams To Apocalypto

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dT8kbbdllA

Broken Matt Hardy took to Twitter on Monday night to send “invites” out to The New Day, The Wyatt Family, The Rock ‘n Sock Connection, The Rock ‘n Roll Express, DX, Evolution and Edge & Christian, for the teams to compete in the Apocalpyto match on Total Nonstop Deletion this Thursday night.

The RNR Express are set to appear and there’s a strong chance we’ll see a cameo from the Bucks of Youth, but there’s no chance of the other WWE teams appearing. That said, Hardy has been doing a solid job in promoting this week’s special episode, taped from his compound in Cameron, North Carolina.

Emmalina Comments On Her Big Return, Samoa Joe Reacts To TNA Chants (Video)

– Emmalina tweeted the following about her ‘big return’ on Monday’s RAW:

– Following ROH’s announcement that Nigel McGuiness has resigned as the company’s matchmaker, Dave Meltzer reports that McGuiness is likely headed to WWE to work as a trainer. Big picture, WWE is getting aggressive bringing in new talent whether it’s in-ring or at the Performance Center.

– Here’s what happens when you chant TNA at Samoa Joe at an NXT live event:

Matt Hardy Challenges The Wyatt Family – Bray Responds

Broken Matt Hardy invited “The Family of Wyatts” to participate in the Tag Team Apocalypto fight this Thursday at the Total Nonstop Deletion. Whether Matt expected it or not, he got a response from Bray Wyatt.

https://twitter.com/WWEBrayWyatt/status/808547751424303104

Thursday’s Impact will be a two hour extravaganza that will all be taking place at the Hardy compound. There most certainly will be people shooting fireworks at each other and hopefully a dilapidated boat.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSjnOCtjJLc

It wasn’t too long ago that Final Deletion was the most popular thing in wrestling. The WWE tried to capitalize on the buzz of Final Deletion by producing a similar match. It wasn’t nearly as popular and a lot of fans accused the WWE of trying to copy TNA.

Five months later, Matt Hardy is still bringing up the Wyatt Family on social media. Broken Matt Hardy recently joined The Ross Report and revealed that his contract with TNA is expiring at the end of February. Hardy went on to state that he wanted to play a more prominent role in TNA once negotiations begin in a couple of months. Both Matt and Jeff Hardy have seen their careers revitalized in TNA. It would make sense for them to resign there and continue to try to build up the TNA brand.

If that turns out to not be the case and the Hardy Boyz wind up back in the WWE, this would be an amazing feud. Obviously, there is no chance in hell that Randy Orton, Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt would ever show up on an episode of Impact. The much more likely scenario is that Matt and Jeff Hardy return to the WWE to finish their careers. I’ve always rooted for TNA to be a success and for them to provide a viable alternative to the WWE. Unfortunately, they have never really been able to gain traction and have essentially been running in place while surrounded by constant financial problems. TNA will certainly try their best to resign Matt and Jeff Hardy in February but it remains to be seen if they will accomplish that goal.

Video – The New Day Breaks Demolition’s Record, Backstage Celebration

The New Day retained the RAW Tag Team Championships over The Club and Cesaro & Sheamus in a Triple Threat tonight in Philadelphia to officially tie Demolition’s record as longest reigning tag team champions. The record will be broken at midnight.

Below is a GIF of their post-match celebration and a locker room celebration that saw Stephanie McMahon get sprayed with champagne:

WWE Monday Night Raw Reaction (12/12)

Triple Threat Raw Tag Team Championship Match: New Day (c) vs Sheamus & Cesaro vs Gallows & Anderson

New Day cut a promo before the match about how tonight they will make history and become the longest reigning Tag Team Champions. The New Day also had their locker room decked out with champagne for the after party if they wind up retaining their Tag Team Championships tonight.

Cesaro and Kofi Kingston started off the match. Kofi connected with a Crossbody but Cesaro battled back and landed a Suplex. Sheamus entered the match and beatdown Kofi in the corner. Kofi bounced back and leveled Sheamus with a Dropkick. Big E was tagged in and he immediately tackled Sheamus. Kofi got back into the match and hit Sheamus with a Jawbreaker. Karl Anderson tagged himself in and knocked down Kofi with a Clothesline.

Gallows entered the match and connected with a boot to the face on Kofi. Raw then went to a commercial break. When Raw returned, Anderson and Gallows still had control of the match. Kingston battled back and hit a Missile Dropkick on Gallows off of the second rope. Sheamus tagged himself in and beatdown Gallows. Anderson and Gallows teamed up on Sheamus and almost got a pinfall but Cesaro was able to break it up at the last second.

Cesaro entered the match and took out Anderson with an uppercut and followed it with a 619. Cesaro took out everyone outside the ring and then connected with a big Crossbody on Anderson in the ring. Cesaro then hit the Cesaro Swing on Anderson and followed it up with the Sharpshooter. Kofi tagged himself in and hit the Trouble in Paradise on Sheamus. Big E held Cesaro back and he couldn’t break up the pinfall.

Winners & Still Raw Tag Team Champions: New Day

Reaction: The New Day’s never-ending title reign continues. It comes as no surprise that they will break Demolition’s record and become the longest reigning Tag Team Champions. The match itself was short but entertaining. I’m still holding out hope that Cesaro and Sheamus capture the titles soon. They appear to be the only real contenders for the belts on Raw right now. There are several tag teams on the Raw roster but it still feels like the New Day and everyone else. Now that the record is broken, hopefully more viable tag teams emerge and the tag division becomes more competitive on Monday nights.

The Raw locker room was shown celebrating the New Day retaining the titles backstage. Stephanie McMahon proposed a toast to the longest reigning Tag Team Champions and Big E celebrated with a gigantic bowl of Booty O’s. Xavier Woods accidentally sprayed Stephanie McMahon with champagne and Stephanie flipped out and knocked the bowl out of Big E’s hands.

Braun Strowman vs Curtis Axel

Strowman applied the Torture Rack and leveled Axel with a Clothesline. Strowman then planted Axel face first into the match and pinned him. After the match, Braun Strowman stated that Mick Foley was protecting Sami Zayn. Earlier in the night, Sami Zayn sent out a tweet demanding a match with Strowman. Sami Zayn was then shown backstage demanding the match from Mick Foley. Once again, Foley refused to put Zayn in the match. Zayn stated that he didn’t want to be on Raw anymore and Foley agreed to call Daniel Bryan and work out a trade to send Zayn to Smackdown.

Winner: Braun Strowman

Reaction: This is a win-win. Sami Zayn is a much better fit for Smackdown and he no longer will waste away in random feuds with Superstars like Braun Strowman.

Ariya Daivari vs Lince Dorado

Daivari started off the match in control. Dorado fought back and connected with a Hurricanrana. Dorado followed it up with a Crossbody. Daivari powered out of the corner and leveled Dorado with a Clothesline. Jack Gallagher then interrupted the match and came down to the entrance ramp with a microphone. Gallagher announced his intention to interfere in the match and called Daivari a scoundrel. Daivari and Gallagher traded punches and the referee called off the match. Gallagher hit a Dropkick that sent Daivari flying off of the ring apron. The segment ended with Gallagher standing tall in the ring.

https://twitter.com/WAManeuver/status/808489391593230338

Rollins Report w/ Seth Rollins

Rollins started off the promo by once again calling out Triple H. Rollins then introduced his guest on the Rollins Report and Kevin Owens came out with his own stool and sat on the entrance ramp. Rollins asked about the friendship between Owens and Jericho. Owens stated that their friendship is fine and they both will have each other’s back in their matches this Sunday at WWE Roadblock. Owens revealed that he asked Stephanie McMahon to book the New Day in another Tag Team Championship tonight on Raw. Owens revealed that the New Day will face Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens for the Tag Team Championships. Jericho then joined Owens on the entrance ramp and asked Owens if he was crazy for thinking their friendship is still fine. Owens stated that the match is already made and that Jericho should put their problems aside so they could work together tonight.

Rollins then stated that Owens was bossing Jericho around and once again called Jericho “sparkle crotch”. Jericho then made it seem like he was going to put Rollins on the list. Jericho then put the list down and claimed that he was going to put Rollins on the disabled list. Owens and Jericho then went down to the ring and began to beatdown Rollins. Eventually, Roman Reigns came down to the ring to a chorus of boos. Jericho and Owens attacked Reigns and knocked him to the mat. Rollins got back into the fight and teamed up with Reigns. Rollins and Reigns stood tall in the ring as Jericho and Rollins retreated.

TJ Perkins vs Brian Kendrick

TJ Perkins started out the match in control. Perkins barely connected with a Dropkick on Kendrick on the ring apron and Raw went to a commercial break. When Raw returned, Kendrick was in control of the match and hit Sliced Bread for the victory.

Winner: Brian Kendrick

Reaction: I found this to be bizarre since Perkins is challenging Rich Swann for the Cruiserweight Championship this Sunday at Roadblock. Kendrick easily defeated Perkins in this match. It is hard to imagine TJ walking out of Roadblock victorious.

Mick Foley announced that Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins will be joining the match for the Tag Team Championships later on in the show.

Bayley vs Alicia Fox

Alicia Fox was still upset about Bayley giving Cedric Alexander a teddy bear last weak and stated that she was going to devote her victory over Bayley tonight to Cedric. Alicia Fox controlled the entire match but Bayley connected with a Bayley to Belly out of nowhere for the victory.

Winner: Bayley

Rusev and Lana cut a promo. Rusev stated that Enzo was garbage and the crowd started to chant for Enzo. Rusev went on to say that he and Lana “took care of business” after he beat the hell out of Enzo last week on Raw. Rusev and Lana then teased that they were going to show the world what they did behind closed doors. They then pointed to the jumbotron and the video of Rusev beating up Enzo was shown. Lana then claimed that the audience was as gullible as Enzo Amore for thinking he had a chance with her.

Mercifully, Big Cass interrupted and cut a promo of his own. For some annoying reason, his entrance music was blaring throughout the entire promo. Eventually, Cass charged the ring and brawled with Rusev. The crowd was dead silent during this brawl. Big Cass got the upper hand and Rusev retreated to the back.

Reaction: The music playing throughout Cass speaking was really distracting. I’m not sure if the WWE lacks confidence in the promo skills of Cass or if this was just a technical issue. I actually hope it was a technical issue because I don’t really feel like sitting through another Cass promo like this one. This entire segment was bad and was quite an uneventful way to start the final hour of Raw.

Jinder Mahal vs Sami Zayn

Jinder Mahal controlled the early part of this match but Zayn connected with the Helluva Kick for the victory. After the match, Mick Foley announced that he had made the deal with Daniel Bryan to trade him to Smackdown for Eva Marie. Sami Zayn flipped out and demanded that Foley give him the match with Strowman. Foley then informed Zayn that there never was a trade and Foley just needed to see that Zayn had the anger inside of him to go up against a monster like Strowman. Foley then made a match between Zayn and Strowman at Roadblock.

Winner: Sami Zayn

Reaction: Honestly, I’d rather have seen Zayn moved to Smackdown but this promo was solid. I don’t envision Zayn defeating Strowman at Roadblock but I’m sure he will put up a good fight. I’ve never been a fan of the Mick Foley overly intense, in your face, shaking and screaming at the top of his lungs promo. They have been happening way too often recently. Having said that, Foley is actually one of the only people that can cut a promo and at least make it sound genuine right now. We shall see how this all plays out on Sunday, but there is finally a reason to care about Sami Zayn versus Braun Strowman.

Triple Threat Raw Tag Team Championship Match: New Day (c) vs Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho vs Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins

Rollins and Xavier Woods started off the match. They went back and forth until Big E and Roman Reigns were tagged in. Big E went to Spear Reigns on the ring apron but Roman blocked it with a knee. Jericho tagged himself in and continued to beatdown Big E. Owens then joined the party and continued the assault on Big E. Jericho and Owens spent the next few minutes taking turns beating the hell out of Big E.

Eventually, Big E tagged in Xavier Woods. Kevin Owens continued to be on the offensive and applied a Chinlock to Woods in the center of the ring. Owens released the hold and connected with a right hand to Rollins and he fell off of the ring apron. Big E once again got into the match and he immediately hit three Belly to Belly Suplexes on Jericho. Rollins then tagged himself in and hit a Suicide Dive onto Jericho outside the ring. Rollins followed it up by connecting with another Suicide Dive but this time onto Big E.

Roman Reigns was tagged in and he hit Jericho with a Powerbomb. Reigns hit a Superman Punch on Owens who was on the ring apron. Xavier Woods tagged himself in and hit an Elbow Drop onto Reigns and went for the pinfall but Reigns kicked out at two. Woods and Reigns traded punches but Reigns got the upper hand. Rollins tagged himself in and leveled Owens with a kick to the face. Rollins climbed to the top turnbuckle but Jericho pushed him off.

Jericho then entered the match and hit a Lionsault on Woods. Jericho followed it up with the Walls of Jericho in the center of the ring. Woods reversed the hold into a roll-up but Jericho kicked out at two. Woods went for a Tornado DDT on Woods but Owens connected with a Superkick. Owens then launched Xavier into the air and Jericho hit a massive Codebreaker. Jericho went for the pinfall but it was broken up when Rollins shoved Owens into Jericho. Owens and Jericho then argued in the ring. Jericho thought Owens did it on purpose. Rollins hit a Pedigree on Jericho and went for the pinfall. Big E dragged Rollins out of the ring and Xavier Woods pinned Jericho.

After the match, Owens and Jericho continued to argue in the ring. Roman Reigns set up behind Owens and Jericho told Owens to turn around. Reigns connected with a Spear and raised both the United States and Universal Championships above his head. The crowd booed as Raw went off the air.

Winners & Still Tag Team Champions: New Day

Reaction: The main event was a good match and the New Day retained their titles for the second time tonight. Overall, tonight’s Raw was decent. I would rather see Kevin Owens keep the Universal Championship than see Reigns capture it at Roadblock. The United States Championship has essentially been forgotten ever since Reigns won it. I don’t understand how giving Reigns another title to Reigns helps that at all. If the plan was to give Reigns the Universal Championship, I don’t get Rusev ever lost the United States title to Reigns in the first place. There are a lot of things on Raw that just don’t make sense to me. There are Superstars that seem to just be floating around every week with nothing to do. I don’t get why those Superstars aren’t fighting for a midcard title like the United States Championship. Like him or not, Roman Reigns should always be vying for the Universal Championship. The United States Championship doesn’t elevate Reigns at all and it could do wonders for 80% of the talent on Raw.  You know, the Superstars that seemingly have nothing of relevance to do every Monday night.

What did you think of this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw? Let us know in the comments below.

WWE RAW Results & Discussion (12/12)

This week’s episode of WWE RAW aired live on the USA Network from the Wells Fargo Center Philadelphia, PA. This was the go-home episode before Sunday’s Roadblock pay-per-view.

The New Day (c) def. Gallows & Anderson vs. Sheamus & Cesaro: The New Day cuts a promo before the match and Xavier dedicates the match to his late grandmother. The New Day gets the upper hand over Sheamus early on with a series of double team moves from Big E and Kofi. Cesaro gets the tag and goes back and forth with Kofi, then Gallows gets the tag from Cesaro and drops Kofi with a big boot. Sheamus tags back in and starts working on Gallows, hitting his signature clubbing blogs to the chest over the ropes. Cesaro tags in and absolutely cleans house, hitting his signature offensive moves on every opponent in the match both inside and outside the ring. Sheamus tags in and Cesaro sets up Anderson for a successful Brogue Kick, but then Kofi comes out of nowhere with the Trouble In Paradise on Sheamus for the win.

– The New Day arrive backstage for their celebration party for becoming the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions. They start spraying champagne everywhere, and it gets all over Stephanie and in her eyes. Stephanie freaks out and flips over a giant bowl of Booty-O’s. After the commercial break, we see Stephanie drying off backstage when Kevin Owens approaches her and says he has an idea for her she might like.

Braun Strowman def. Curtis Axel: Strowman tosses Axel across the ring early on then hits a running splash in the corner. Strowman hits a clubbing blow to the chest of Axel, then puts him in the Torture Rack. Axel fights out and goes for a missile dropkick off the middle rope, but Strowman clotheslines him out of the sky. Strowman follows up with a wheelbarrow facebuster for the win. After the match, Byron gets in the ring to interview Braun, and Braun gets in his face. Byron asks Braun about Sami Zayn’s challenge, and Braun says Foley is protecting Zayn. Strowman says Sami can’t last two minutes in the ring with him, nor can anyone else.

– Sami Zayn approaches Mick Foley backstage and demands that Foley gives him his match against Strowman. Foley says he can’t because of how their last match went, and says Strowman would end Sami’s career. Sami says if Foley won’t give him the opportunities he deserves on RAW, maybe he doesn’t need to be on RAW anymore. Foley says out of respect to Sami, he’ll call Daniel Bryan and work out a trade.

Ariya Daivari def. Lince Dorado via DQ: Daivari opens up the match in control, and after a couple minutes Jack Gallagher’s music hits and he interrupts. He grabs the mic and calls Daivari a scoundrel, then they start brawling around ringside. They roll into the ring and Gallagher dropkicks Daivari back to the outside, then Daivari retreats.

– We see Seth Rollins backstage getting ready to come out and host The Rollins Report.

– Rollins comes out to the ring and introduces his guest Kevin Owens. Owens comes out, but then walks back behind the curtain. Owens reemerges with a stool and sits on the stage instead of joining Rollins in the ring. Owens says the only reason he came out is because he has an announcement to make. Rollins keeps interrupting Owens to ask how his friendship with Jericho is doing. Owens says Jericho will have his match on Sunday against Reigns, and says he’ll have Jericho’s back in his match against Rollins. Owens announces that after talking to Stephanie McMahon, she has decided to put The New Day in another Tag Title match tonight against the team of Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho. Jericho comes out next to interrupt. After some brief words, Jericho and Owens hit the ring and start beating down Rollins. Roman Reigns comes out to make the save, and joins Rollins in beating down Jericho and Owens.

Brian Kendrick def. TJ Perkins: Kendrick takes control early on, but Perkins comes back with a clothesline and a springboard dropkick. Perkins follows up with a series of kicks for a near-fall. Kendrick catches Perkins with a big boot then a suplex for a near-fall of his own. Perkins gets Kendrick in a knee bar, but Kendrick reaches the ropes to break the hold. Kendrick sends Perkins into the ring post then follows up with the Sliced Bread for the win.

Bayley def. Alicia Fox: Bayley dominates the opening moments of the match, but Alicia quickly comes back with a kick to the head and a series of suplexes. Bayley hits a belly to belly suplex out of nowhere for the win after a short match.

– Lana comes out to the ring to introduce Rusev. Rusev comes out and addresses last week’s assault on Enzo, and he says he has footage of him and Lana taking care of business. Rusev and Lana tell the children to close their eyes, because they’re going to show them what Lana does behind closed doors. They show the footage of them beating down Enzo in the hotel last week, then they continue cutting a promo on Enzo. Big Cass comes out to defend Enzo, and he hits the ring to fight Rusev. After some back-and-forth brawling, Rusev tackles Cass through the ropes to ringside. After some more fairly evenly matched brawling, Cass gets the upper hand and Rusev retreats up the ramp.

– Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho are backstage preparing for their Tag Team Titles match tonight.

Sami Zayn def. Jinder Mahal: Sami starts off aggressively, but Mahal manages to keep him grounded momentarily. Zayn quickly comes back with a t-bone suplex in the corner and a running big boot for the win after a very short match. After the match, Mick Foley comes out to the ring. Foley tells Sami that he will be trading him to SmackDown, for a talent of equal value. He gives Sami the paperwork to sign, and makes sure it’s what Sami wants. Sami asks one last time for a match with Braun Strowman, and Foley says the answer is no. Before Sami signs, Foley tells him that he’ll be traded straight up for Eva Marie. Sami says he’s worth a thousand Eva Maries, and flips out at Foley. Foley changes his mind and says to focus this anger towards Braun this weekend at Roadblock. Foley says there was never a trade for Eva and he was just getting him fired up.

The New Day (c) vs. Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho vs. Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins: The Tag Team Titles are on the line in this one. Xavier starts off against Rollins with back and forth action. Jericho and Big E tag in and Jericho takes control of the match. They trade boots then Jericho chokes Big E on the lower rope. Owens tags in and goes for a Samoan Drop, but Big E gets out and both men go down after a double clothesline. Owens and Jericho go for a double superplex off the top on Big E, but Rollins interrupts. Reigns and Big E interrupt next, and we get a huge double powerbomb/superplex combination. After the dust settles. Owens and Xavier are left in the ring fighting it out. Owens misses a senton drop and Big E gets the hot tag. Jericho comes in and Big E hits a series of belly to belly suplexes on him. Rollins tags himself in and clotheslines Jericho over the top rope. Rollins follows up with a suicide dive on Jericho to the outside, then throws him back in. Rollins then immediately hits a suicide dive outside on Big E. Back in the ring, Rollins knees Jericho in the face then Reigns tags in. Reigns hits a powerbomb on Jericho for a two count. Xavier tags in next and kicks Reigns in the head, then follows up with a springboard flying elbow for a two count. Rollins tags in and knees Xavier in the head, then Owens runs in but Rollins superkicks him. Rollins goes up top, but Jericho knocks him down and Owens hits the cannonball in the corner. Jericho tags himself in and hits the Lionsault on Xavier for a two count. Jericho puts Xavier in the Walls of Jericho, but Xavier powers out. Wood goes for a tornado DDT but Owens runs in and superkicks him. Owens launches Woods through the air and Jericho catches him wit a Codebreaker. Jericho pins, but Rollins pushes Owens into him to break the pin. Jericho accuses Owens of falling on him and they start shoving each other. Rollins attacks from behind, then hits the Pedigree on Jericho. Big E pulls Rollins outside, then Xavier rolls ontop of Jericho for the pin and he scores the 3 count. The New Day wins and are still the Tag Team Champions. Jericho and Owens continue yelling at each other after the match, and Jericho says they’re done. Jericho leaves, and Owens turns around into a spear from Reigns. Reigns holds up the WWE Universal Title and the U.S. Title as RAW goes off the air.

Alberto El Patron Claims Rafy ‘Inappropriately Touch[ed]’ Paige Before Brawl

Alberto El Patron has commented on last night’s locker room brawl with Alan Xtreme/Rafy of IWRG’s Ninja Turtles in Naucalpan, D.F., Mexico  with the following tweet:

As we noted last night, one of the stories going around was that Alberto thought Rafy had touched Paige, so it’s no surprise that this is Alberto’s official version of what happened. Late last night, he had tweeted this after the story had broken in English language wrestling media:

As for Rafy, late last night (as in before Alberto’s comments), Lucha World’s Alfredo Esparza noted that the luchador posted on Facebook that the fight happened but everyone should move past it:

To wit, as noted last night, the loudest voice on social media was IWRG wrestler and backstage figure AK-47, who was posting on Facebook about how Alberto “nearly killed” Rafy. That said, Super Luchas reports that Alberto had another locker room incident recently, as at WWC Lockout on December 3rd, he got into a “heated argument” with Robbie E. over something having to do with Paige.

Cruiserweight Championship Match Added To WWE Roadblock

New Japan/Tekken 7 Collaboration Announced (Video)

Fans of the Tekken series and New Japan are in for a treat. It has been announced that Tekken 7 will feature crossover content from NJPW and the first announcement is an Okada inspired costume for series regular King. It has also been confirmed that he will be able to use the Rainmaker finisher as part of his move set. This is a shrewd business move from NJPW as they look to further solidify themselves in Japanese mainstream culture and this collaboration with Namco could prove to be hugely beneficial.

ROH News: McGuinness Resigns, Dream Tag Bout Signed For ATL, Ospreay At Manhattan Mayhem

A few headlines have filtered out of ROH headquarters today; Nigel McGuinness has ‘resigned’ as ROH Matchmaker. ROH have released the following statement regarding Nigel’s decision to leave his post:

“Earlier this evening, with heavy hearts, Ring of Honor officials accepted the resignation of ROH Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness.

Speculation surrounding McGuinness’ sudden resignation has begun to boil among ROH officials. While some chastised his leniency toward Bullet Club’s behavior in the summer, others believe that now McGuinness may be under extreme duress from Bullet Club’s Adam Cole for changing the stipulations of the Final Battle main event just days in advance.

One of ROH’s all-time greats, the former ROH World Champion has resigned. ROH management has announced it is forming an executive committee to oversee matchmaking in ROH. We wish Nigel McGuinness the best of luck in his future.”

Newly signed ROH star and Bullet Club member Cody Rhodes has been booked to appear alongside Adam Cole against ROH Champion Kyle O’Reilly and Jay Lethal when ROH appears in Atlanta 01/14/17.

As reported recently Ring of Honor have decided to bring back the Manhattan Mayhew event next year, today they announced that British sensation Will Ospreay will be at the event:

Matt Sydal Arrives Home in the United States, Says He’s Done with NJPW

After almost three months in custody after being caught trying to bring liquid marijuana and drug paraphernalia into Japan, Matt Sydal (formerly Evan Bourne in WWE) has tweeted that he is back at home  in the United States:

Sydal spoke to our friend Ryan Satin at Pro Wrestling Sheet, telling him that “It’s all finished. I received probation, which applies only if I’m in Japan. So no actual punishment. I was just held until they had the trial. I wasn’t ever in jail either, only police detention centers and the Osaka immigration detention center.” He added that “I’m no longer with NJPW. I still love the Japanese people, but I won’t be working there in the near future.”

Before news of what actually happened broke, someone with access to Sydal’s Twitter account tweeted that he had “passport trouble” and ended up getting stuck in Hawaii. The tweets have since been deleted. While sneaking drugs in through customs is risky anywhere, Japan is known to have an especially rough stance on marijuana.

Kevin Owens Yells At Young Fan (Video), Fan’s Mother Posts Angry Letter

This video of Kevin Owens talking trash to a young fan over the weekend is going viral and has prompted a response from the boy’s mother.

The mother of the fan went on social media and wrote about what happened:

“My heart is shattered. What started off as an amazingly awesome night ended in my 7 year old being completely heartbroken. My son is a huge WWE fan and a fan of just about every wrestler on the roster. He has a drawer full of everyone’s shirts but he chose to wear a Roman Reigns shirt since he has been a fan of his ever since he started watching.

All night he was getting high fives from other wrestlers and was all smiles but for some reason when Kevin Owens came out he singled out my son and commented on who’s shirt he was wearing then told him “you should get this shirt. Actually don’t get this shirt I don’t want you to ever wear my shirt. Don’t you ever try to touch me.” All because my 7 year old wanted a high five and wasn’t wearing his shirt. My heart sank. He became visibly upset, sat down and kept staring at the gate. I couldn’t help it I started crying.

He loves wrestling. He has a drawer full of just about everyone’s shirts, over 100 figures, so many accessories and just loves watching and going to events. The worst part is he was going to be getting a Kevin Owens shirt and hat for Christmas but now he doesn’t want anything to do with him. Kevin Owens was actually one of my sons favorites but now he says “he’s not even on the list of who I like.” This was finally an event that my whole family was able to attend: myself, my son, my mother who has been suffering from leukemia, and my father and we were all having a great time until that happened. For a show that is supposed to be family friendly Kevin Owens really crushed a huge fans spirits last night.

My son is 7 not 15 or 16 where they can take someone they idolize talking to them like that but 7. We have been to many events: TLC, Smackdown, Hell in a Cell, NXT, and the draft. He doesn’t want to go anymore. He had previously asked me if the wrestlers who appear mean would ever do or say something to a kid and I said absolutely not they know better. Kevin Owens made me a liar and just showed everyone last night how much of a jerk he really is.

To top all of this off after Kevin Owens lost to Roman Reigns and he was walking away from the ring my son was just standing there on his seat watching and Kevin Owens jumped towards him and yelled at him “I am your father” which made no sense but with the sudden movement and loudness made all of us jump and my son almost fell of his seat. My son is crushed and whenever he talks about it he tears up. I can’t believe a wrestler would actually treat a 7 year old fan this way. Shame on you Kevin Owens and WWE.”

Kevin Owens sent out this tweet, which appears to be a response to the mother:
