Finn Balor Injury Leads to Heated Lance Storm vs. Disco Inferno Debate

Two performers on opposite ends of the spectrum, Lance Storm and Disco Inferno, debated the safety of worked forearms in pro-wrestling. The conversation stemmed from the brutal forearm delivered by Jinder Mahal to Finn Balor on Raw, putting the popular Irish star out of action with a concussion.

Forearms Too Risky? Lance Storm and Disco Inferno Debate

A popular technique in Japan is for wrestlers to forearm each other in the face as hard as possible. Disco Inferno believes the moves are too dangerous to be used, while Lance Storm simply feels wrestlers are not “working” their shots enough.

Jim Ross Has A Warning For WWE Talent After The Superstar Shake-up, Talks Nakamura & Styles

Jim Ross says he’s a fan of WWE’s Superstar Shake-up concept that saw several wrestlers move between the RAW and SmackDown rosters this week. On his blog at JRsBarBQ.com, the WWE Hall of Famer wrote that he’s in-favor of WWE freshening up the rosters and creating new rivalries. J.R. thinks WWE “got their choices right” with their roster trades, but says it’s up to the talent to make it work. He says this is an opportunity for some members of the roster to “hit the reset button,” and warns talent not to fall into a comfort zone if they want to have long careers.

“I love fresh starts for talents especially if they seize the moment and refuse to ‘settle,'” Ross wrote. “Competitive athletes generally embrace these fresh chances and new opportunities and those that don’t are often times prisoners of their own comfort zone which means that they have essentially stopped growing and are happy to remain status quo.

“Comfort Zones are an enemy to us all no matter what we do for a living,” Ross continued. “Comfort Zones are hazardous to one’s career and if that specific problem can’t be solved it has to be eliminated.”

Ross says that “legit stars” find a way to make the situations given to them by WWE work. He adds that they have to be willing to take chances and improve their game every day to some degree. Ross credits SmackDown stars Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles as being two of the best fan favorites on WWE television.

“Nakamura is the most unique, main event, fan favorite talent that WWE has promoted in years and arguably forever,” Ross wrote. “Asian fan favorites are a rarity in North America but the fans seem to adore the charismatic former MMA star.

“AJ Styles is arguably and potentially the hottest fan favorite currently residing on WWE TV who is not officially on that side of the fence. It’s tough to boo a wrestler in today’s presentation of the genre who is as good as AJ.”

Another UFC Hall of Famer Calls Out JBL

As a long time respected MMA commentator, Mauro Ranallo has plenty of friends who just so happened to be elite level mixed martial artists. Two of his friends are pioneers in the sport and UFC Hall of Famers: Bas Rutten and Pat Militech. Both fighters have commented on the ongoing JBL bullying accusations, and have stuck up for Mauro.

UFC Hall of Famer Pat Miletich recently responded to a JBL tweet by basically calling him out.

He also re-tweeted this response from a fan:

Bas Rutten vs. JBL

Another UFC Hall of Famer, Bas Rutten, hosts a podcast with Mauro that unfortunately has been on hiatus since he left Smackdown. Not long after the situation began Rutten let fans know on his Twitter that JBL was responsible.

No word on Bart Gunn’s thoughts on the situation:

205 Live Results and Highlights

205 Live
April 11th 2017
Boston, MA

1. The Brian Kendrick vs. Mustafa Ali

Kendrick lost to Tozawa last week, and finally got taught a lesson himself. This week he is taking on the surging Mustafa Ali, who has set himself apart from others in the cruiserweight mid-card as of late. Kendrick locked Ali in the Captain’s Hook and the bell rang. Kendrick let go of the hold but Ali didn’t tap. Turns out Tozawa rang the bell on the outside.
Ali then turned the tables on Kendrick and hit the inverted 450 splash.
Tozawa then told Kendrick this was lesson #2: looks can be deceiving (he was dressed as the ring bell guy). For the second week in a row Tozawa beats Kendrick at his own game.
Winner: Mustafa Ali

2. Rich Swann vs. Johnny Ocean

The newcomer Ocean got in a little bit of offence, though this was still a showcase match for Swann. He hits a roundhouse kick and the phoenix splash for the win.
Swann gets on the mic after the match and again takes credit for the gifts given to Alicia Fox. This brought out Noam Dar who went back and forth with Swann. This brought out Alicia Fox who snapped a solid Billy Madison reference when she mentioned she has noticed “you looking at me Swann!”. Fox had another gift in her hand that Dar tried to take credit for, but this gift turned out to shoot white powered all over Fox.
Winner: Rich Swann

3. TJ Perkins vs. Gentleman Jack Gallagher

This was Perkins first match since embracing a new heel-ish attitude. The winner of the inaugural cruiserweight classic has grown frustrated in recent weeks as he continues to fall farther out of title contention. Perkins through Gallagher head first into the ring post, leading to a solid Fight Club movie reference by Corey Graves when he said “I am Jack’s complete state of unconsciousness”. After that Perkins hit the Detonation kick for the mild upset victory.
After the match Neville came to ringside and raised the hand of Perkins in an act that solidified TJP’s heel turn.
Winner: TJ Perkins

Justin Roberts: Triple H Is Not A Hero, He “Keeps Certain Guys Down”

Former WWE announcer Justin Roberts says he told the truth about how he was treated in the company in his new autobiography Best Seat in the House: Your Backstage Pass through My WWE Journey. In a recent interview with Wrestledelphia.com, Roberts was asked about Triple H, JBL, and WWE executive Kevin Dunn coming off in a negative light in the book. Roberts says he only told the truth about his experiences with them, and readers have to come to their own conclusions about those individuals.

“I didn’t really give my opinion on them,” Roberts said of Triple H, JBL and Dunn. “I just told the story of my experiences and how they came into my story and what their involvement was. By telling the story, you as a reader can say that guy seems like a great guy or that guy doesn’t seem like a great guy. I tell my story and the role everybody played and how I was treated by everybody. I didn’t make anything up – that’s the best part of the book. It’s completely honest.”

The former WWE announcer added that if Triple H, JBL and Dunn had treated him better, he would have put that in his story. Roberts feels that aside from those three, everyone else in the book came off in a positive light.

When asked about Triple H specifically, Roberts feels fans who think The Game is a “hero” because of his NXT leadership might be disappointed. He claims to have seen Triple H holding certain talent back from succeeding to protect his own interests, despite no longer being an active wrestler himself.

“It’s hard when you’re on the outside and you read things,” he said. “We all see that Triple H is this hero among the internet. He’s the guy standing up for the wrestling fans, telling Vince to make this better. For us, internally in the company, we thought there’s a great chance he’ll be on our side and look out for us and try to help. Then you see him come in and clip the wings off certain guys and keep certain guys down. You realize he’s just looking out for himself.”

You can read Roberts’ entire interview here.

Jerry Lawler Defends JBL, Paige Gets Flack For Donald Trump Calendar

On the latest episode of his Dinner With The King podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler commented on the controversy surrounding JBL and the allegations that he’s a bully behind the scenes.

Lawler came to JBL’s defense, saying,  “I’m a JBL fan. Here’s the thing about JBL; you have to know the guy. And if you don’t get an opportunity to really know JBL, you can be offended. JBL is a funny guy. He’s a big guy. He’s boisterous. He comes across as, sometimes, crude and loud. But you gotta know him. That’s just JBL. He’s the same guy on commentary as he is in catering.”

He added that he doesn’t think JBL will get fired over the bullying issue. “I don’t think he will, not over something like this.”

– Paige posted a photo with Alberto El Patron on Twitter to showing off the book AJ Lee sent to her. Several fans noticed a Donald Trump poster in the background and gave her crap for supporting the controversial President of the United States.

https://twitter.com/RealPaigeWWE/status/851976112683044864

After getting so many negative replies to the tweet for being a Trump supporter, she followed up with another look at the calendar and revealed it actually mocks the President and counts down the days until he’s out of office.

Randy Orton Wasn’t Happy ‘Riding A Giant Sperm’ to the Ring at WrestleMania

WWE Champion Randy Orton did a Q&A panel over the weekend at Wizard World’s latest convention in St. Louis and showed disdain for his WrestleMania 33 entrance.

Orton’s match with Bray Wyatt involved a variety of special effects, including maggots being projected onto the ring mat. Randy Orton’s ring entrance included him “riding a snake” to the ring as he walked down the digitized ramp. Orton wasn’t pleased with the visual, echoing the sentiment of fans on social media who thought the snake looked like a giant sperm.

BleedingCool.com did a write-up of the Q&A session, including Orton telling the crowd, “the snake looked like giant sperm.” Orton said he has absolutely no input in his WrestleMania entrances. He would love to have an elaborate entrance like Triple H typically gets, but he’s usually “screwed out of entrances” at WrestleMania.

Later in the panel, a young fan asked Orton what his favorite pay-per-view is. Orton said he loves the “Big Four” (WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series and the Royal Rumble), but even WrestleMania can have its negative side, such as having to “ride a giant sperm” to the ring.

Kane’s First Political Ad For Mayoral Campaign (Video)

WWE Superstar Kane (Glenn Jacobs) announced on Tuesday that he’s running for Mayor of Knox County in Knoxville, Tennessee. WWE.com has since picked up the story and Kane’s official campaign website is now live at JacobsForMayor.com.

Here is Kane’s first official political ad for his 2018 Knox County Mayoral campaign.

After announcing his candidacy, Kane appeared on the the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling  podcast and to share his thoughts on his life-changing career move.

“I am going to run as a Republican and I think I will have the ability to help grow the Republican party locally. The reason I am running as a Republican is because I believe very strongly in the foundations of the republican party, which are free market as well as personal freedom and that is the message that I need to get out there and I need to get it out there especially among young people. Frankly those are the future of the country and I wouldn’t be doing this if it weren’t for fact as you said, I’ve put in a lot of work to get to where I was in WWE.

I overcame obstacles to get to WWE, I had the opportunity to do those things because I live in America and I grew up in America. I’ve been so fortunate that I was able to live the American dream and that has to be available for my kids and my grand kids. The ability to do what you want with your life and the opportunity to build the life that you want and sometimes of course it feels like that is slipping through our fingers and a lot of times we look at Washington, D.C. as a problem (a person like me does) but local elected officials have probably more impact on your life than the people in Washington, D.C.

We often get wrapped up in the “WWE of politics” which is at the Federal level and the Presidential Election and those sort of things but all levels or government matter and for someone like me who has been given just tremendous opportunities to take advantage of I want to keep those opportunities alive and I think it starts with me here in Knox County, Tennessee.”

Lana Claims Sexual Assault By Boston TSA Agents

CJ Perry, better known to wrestling fans as Lana, sent out two disturbing tweets early this morning alleging misconduct by TSA agents at the Boston Logan Airport.

https://twitter.com/LanaWWE/status/852119199715663872

Inappropriate Conduct By TSA Agents?

Lana is far from the first person to claim sexual misconduct by TSA agents. In 2015, in an article for Time Magazine a former TSA agent claimed that groping was considered “business as usual” in the industry. Further articles have been published in the past about the impact TSA agents can have on those who are sexual assault survivors.

Lana directed her tweets to the airport, but it seems they have yet to reply publicly to Lana’s accusations, and possibly will never do so.

The Time Magazine article referenced above can be read here.

Dean Ambrose & Renee Young Married

It appears WWE Intercontinental champion Dean Ambrose and WWE broadcaster Renee Young have officially tied the knot. Both Dean and Renee wore their wedding rings on WWE television this week, which saw Ambrose moving to RAW during the Superstar Shake-Up.

The couple began dating in late 2013. Their relationship has been acknowledged on WWE television for some time and has been featured on Total Divas.

The marriage was referenced by Kevin Owens on last night’s Talking Smack. Owens congratulated Renee, but didn’t specify what he was congratulating her for. Both Renee and Shane McMahon acted confused, with Shane saying, “I don’t know if we’re talking about that.”

A WWE fan dug up this public record indicating that Dean Ambrose and Renee Young filed for a marriage certificate in Nevada back in October.

Renee Young put the speculation to rest early Wednesday morning:

Congratulations to Dean Ambrose and Renee Young!

Finn Balor Out of Action With Concussion

Finn Balor suffered a concussion on Monday’s WWE RAW at the hands (technically, the forearm) of Jinder Mahal. The news was first reported by PWInsider, which cited numerous sources close to the situation.

This was Finn Balor’s first singles match on WWE television since last year’s SummerSlam, when he suffered a shoulder injury that put him out of action for approximately 8 months.

No word yet on how long Balor will be out of action. WWE has yet to acknowledge the injury. Here’s footage of Jinder Mahal injuring Finn Balor on RAW:

Fire Bradshaw Chants At SmackDown, Fan With JBL Bully Sign Ejected (Videos)

Thie controversy surrounding John Bradshaw Layfield allegedly bullying Mauro Ranallo out of WWE is not going away any time soon. Over the past several days, additional mainstream media outlets have picked up the story, including Sports Illustrated and Yahoo. At Tuesday night’s SmackDown Live from Boston, WWE fans made it clear they’re not going to remain silent about JBL’s backstage bullying.

Twitter user @JohnOClock posted this footage of the TD Garden chanting, “Fire Bradshaw” –

Meanwhile, a fan in attendance approached JBL at ringside with a “JBL Bullied Me” sign.

As seen below, the fan was ejected from the arena and received a round of applause from the crowd on his way out.

Moments after SmackDown went on the air, Mauro Ranallo tweeted this message telling fans he’ll be fine and asking them to support the performers who put their bodies on the line week in and week out.

WWE SmackDown Recap & Reaction (4/11): Superstar Shake-Up

Kevin Owens kicked off Smackdown and came down to the ring in a suit. Owens also had shaved his beard off. The crowd at the TD Garden erupted as he made his way to the ring. Owens grabbed a microphone and stated that Smackdown was now the “Kevin Owens show”. Owens claimed that Smackdown Live just got a huge upgrade because he was here now.

Owens played up the fact that Canada was better than the United States. Owens also insulted the Boston crowd by stating that the Montreal Canadiens beat the Boston Bruins all the time. Owens challenged someone to come out to the ring for a fight. Owens said that he wants to become the new face of America. Baron Corbin interrupted and claimed that Owens cannot beat him up. Corbin claimed that he beat up Dean Ambrose so bad last week that he went and hid on Raw.

Corbin said that technically he is owed a Championship match and challenged Owens to a match. Sami Zayn then came down to the ring and Kevin Owens lost it in the ring. Zayn announced that he was finally on Smackdown Live and the crowd erupted. AJ Styles came down to the ring and said that this was not the Kevin Owens show, it is Smackdown Live.

Daniel Bryan came down to the entrance ramp and revealed that whomever wins the United States Championship at Payback between Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens will officially join the Smackdown Live roster. Daniel Bryan made a Triple Threat Match, Baron Corbin vs Sami Zayn vs AJ Styles. The winner of that match will face the winner of the United States Championship match at WWE Payback.

Reaction: I think it is reasonable to assume that Kevin Owens will wind up on Smackdown. Jericho’s current WWE run is coming to an end and he will most likely lose to Kevin Owens at WWE Payback. Smackdown needs a midcard title, so it makes sense the United States Championship is now on the show.

Randy Orton vs Erick Rowan

Orton controlled the entire match. He planted Rowan with a DDT while he was hung up on the second rope. Orton was gearing up for the RKO but Bray Wyatt appeared on the Jumbotron. Wyatt pretty much just said that he will see Orton at WWE Payback for their House of Horrors match and laughed. The lights in the arena then came back on and Erick Rowan was outside the ring. Orton charged at Rowan but Rowan hit him with the steel steps and he was disqualified. Rowan then beat him down some more after the match.

Winner via DQ: Randy Orton

Reaction: The crowd was behind Orton in this match. I feel the exact same way about Wyatt that I did prior to him capturing the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber. He is back to losing matches and cutting ominous promos. His promos hold zero weight if he is is losing matches. It is impossible to fear him if he is beatable in the ring. Also, unless Brock Lesnar shows up on Smackdown soon, the WWE Championship match is predictable at Payback. They are not going to have the Universal Championship and WWE Championship on the same show. Randy Orton is staying on Smackdown and Bray Wyatt is going to Raw. It just seems obvious now that Orton is going to win the match at Payback and the WWE Championship will stay on Smackdown.

Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos (c) vs American Alpha

American Alpha controlled the beginning of the match and Smackdown went to a commercial break. When Smackdown returned, Gable took out both Usos with a couple of Clotheslines. Gable followed it up with a couple of Exploder Suplexes and hit a Moonsault for a two count. Gable and Jey Use then battled in the ring. Gable locked in an Arm Bar but Jimmy Uso connected with a Superkick to Gable’s head.

Jason Jordan then entered the match. Gable and Jordan were tossed out of the ring and The Usos went for a Suicide Dive. Gable and Jordan caught Jey and Jimmy and hit two Belly to Belly Suplexes. Back in the ring, Gable was pinned after he was hit by a Frog Splash off the top turnbuckle.

After the match, The Shining Stars attacked American Alpha. The crowd chanted “delete” at The Shining Stars.

Winners & Still Smackdown Tag Team Champions: The Usos

Reaction: The match between The Usos and American Alpha was very good. I’m not sure what kind of impact The Shining Stars will have on the Smackdown Tag Team division. I think the crowd chanting “delete!” at them pretty much sums up everyone’s reaction to them joining the Smackdown roster.

Mojo Rawley vs Jinder Mahal

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was once again ringside for this match. He launched his beer into the face of Mahal and Mojo quickly won the match. Rawley celebrated with Gronk after the match.

Winner: Mojo Rawley

Shane McMahon came down to the ring to discuss Smackdown’s women’s division. Shane McMahon then called the entire women’s division down to the ring. Naomi, Natalya, Carmella and Becky Lynch came down and joined Shane McMahon in the ring. James Ellsworth grabbed the microphone from Shane and Ellsworth called Naomi a horrible Smackdown Women’s Champion. Naomi grabbed the microphone from Ellsworth and threatened him.

Naomi handed the microphone back to Shane McMahon and he announced that Tamina Snuka will be joining the Smackdown roster. Shane McMahon then also announced that Charlotte Flair is joining the Smackdown women’s division.

Reaction: Smackdown may have lost Alexa Bliss and Mickie James, but they made a huge addition with Charlotte Flair. Tamina Snuka is also very talented and hopefully she becomes a force in the Smackdown women’s division.

Tye Dillinger vs Aiden English

The Vaudevillians are no more and Aiden English was on his own. He sang before the match and it was entertaining.  He had a rough single’s debut though, as he quickly lost to Dillinger via the Tye Breaker.

Winner: Tye Dillinger

It was announced that Lana will be coming to Smackdown. Rusev will also join the Smackdown roster when he returns from injury.

Dolph Ziggler cut a promo in the ring and revealed that he was staying on Smackdown. He then started bragging and claimed that he made Smackdown cool. Shinsuke Nakamura interrupted and the crowd went wild. The entire TD Garden sang his theme music as he made his way to the ring. Ziggler and Nakamura had a stare down as the crowd continued to sing his theme. Ziggler went for a Superkick but Nakamura caught him. Ziggler then rolled out of the ring while Shinsuke challenged him to a fight. Nakamura then posed for the crowd and that was the end of the segment.

Reaction: Dolph Ziggler and Shinsuke Nakamura can certainly put on a great match in the future and I cannot wait to see it.  There really was nothing to this promo at all. The crowd sang Nakamura’s theme and Ziggler backed away from Shinsuke’s challenge.

The New Day are officially joining the Smackdown roster. The announcement was made in a short video and they did not appear on tonight’s show.

Baron Corbin vs Sami Zayn vs AJ Styles

Corbin dominated the beginning of the match. Zayn fought back and took out both Corbin and Styles as Smackdown went to a commercial break. When Smackdown returned. Corbin launched Zayn into the turnbuckle. Zayn battled back and hit an Exploder Suplex on Corbin into the turnbuckle. Styles was leveled with a Clothesline and all three Superstars were down on the mat.

Corbin was knocked out of the ring. Zayn hit the Blue Thunder Bomb on Styles for a two count. Zayn went for a Superplex on Styles but Baron Corbin got back in the ring. Styles went for a Phenomenal Forearm but Zayn got out of the way. Corbin planted Zayn with a Deep Six but Styles broke up the pinfall.

Corbin charged at Styles in the corner but AJ got out of the way and Corbin hit the ring post. Styles then hit the springboard 450 Splash on Corbin but Zayn broke up the pinfall. Styles and Zayn traded punches in the middle of the ring. Styles went for the Styles Clash but Zayn avoided it. Zayn hit Corbin with a Helluva Kick and knocked him out of the ring. AJ Styles then hit Sami Zayn with a Phenomenal Forearm for the victory.

Winner & #1 Contender For United States Championship: AJ Styles

Reaction: This match started out slow but the last few minutes were great. Overall, tonight’s episode of Smackdown was solid. When it comes to in-ring talent, I think the Smackdown roster is excellent. Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles, Sami Zayn, Charlotte, Becky Lynch, the list goes on and on. We could be in store for some excellent matches every Tuesday night.

What did you think of this week’s episode of Smackdown? Let us know in the comments below.

WWE SmackDown Results & Discussion (4/11)

The April 11th edition of WWE SmackDown aired live on the USA Network from the TD Garden in Boston, MA.

– Tom Phillips, JBL and Byron Saxton welcome us to the last night of WWE's Superstar Shake-up tonight on SmackDown from the TD Garden in Boston.

– WWE United States Champion Kevin Owens is out to the ring first to open up the show, he's now a SmackDown Superstar. Owens welcomes us to the “new Kevin Owens Show,” and says he just elevated the whole show by bringing the U.S. Title with him. Owens mentions he’s a Canadian holding the U.S. Title, and cuts a pro-Canadian promo. Owens says he can beat anyone on SmackDown, which brings out Baron Corbin to interrupt. Corbin says Owens can’t beat him, and says Owen ran away from RAW after being beaten up by Rollins and Jericho. Corbin wants a title shot, but so does Sami Zayn who interrupts next. Zayn is also now a SmackDown star, which infuriates Owens. Corbin tells Zayn no one cares he’s here, and then AJ Styles interrupts next. Styles says this is the show that he built, and this is his show. Daniel Bryan interrupts next, and says that Owens will have to earn his spot on the SmackDown roster by beating Chris Jericho at Payback. Therefore, the U.S. Title won’t be defended on SmackDown until after Payback. The #1 contender for that Championship will be decided tonight in a triple threat match between Baron Corbin, AJ Styles, and Sami Zayn. Bryan leads the crowd in a “yes” chant before leaving.

– We see WWE Champion Randy Orton backstage getting ready for a match.

Randy Orton def. Eric Rowan via DQ: Just moments into the match, the lights go out and Bray Wyatt appears on the big screen. Wyatt says he’s everywhere, and that Randy should be looking forward to his “house of horrors” match. When the lights come back on, Orton is alone in the ring. Orton sees that Rowan is at ringside so he rolls outside, but Rowan immediately hits him with the ring steps and is disqualified. Rowan throws Orton back in the ring and hits a full nelson slam on him before leaving.

The Usos (c) def. American Alpha: The Usos’ Tag Team Titles are on the line in this one. The Usos use frequent tags and double team moves to keep Jordan isolated early on. Gable gets the hot tag and unloads with a series of belly-to-belly and t-bone suplexes on Jimmy. Jordan and Gable hit the top rope double team bulldog shortly after, but Jey breaks up the tag. The Usos throw both American Alpha members outside and go for suicide dives, but Jordan and Gable catch the Usos in mid-air and throw them with belly-to-belly suplexes. Back in the ring, Gable eats a superkick and gets confused about which Uso is the legal man. The Usos use the confusion to take advantage with a double team and Jey hits the big splash on Gable for the win. The Usos head backstage with the Tag Titles as the challengers recover.

– After the match, The Shining Stars show up in street clothes and beat down Jordan and Gable to make their SmackDown debut in the Superstar Shake-up.

Mojo Rawley def. Jinder Mahal: Gronk from the New England Patriots is at ringside. Lots of stiff strikes between Jinder and Mojo in the opening moments of this one. Jinder gets the advantage but then gets distracted by Gronk at ringside. Jinder heads out to ringside to trash-talk Gronk, but then Mojo hits Jinder from behind. He says eventually the fans will get sick of the new stars who just arrived, and he feels he’s the backbone of the show. Shinsuke Nakamura’s music hits and he interrupts. Ziggler asks who he is, and Nakamura introduces himself. Ziggler goes for a superkick, but Nakamura catches his foot and throws him down. Ziggler acts like he’s going to charge Nakamura, but he doesn’t and heads to the back. Nakamura does his pose in the ring as we go to commercial.

Ricochet Injured & Pulled from Top UK Indie Bookings, Replaced by WWE UK Champion & ROH Star

New Japan Pro Wrestling & Lucha Underground star Ricochet has been pulled from several UK independent bookings this weekend due to an undisclosed injury.

Although minor, Ricochet’s ‘nagging’ injuries have forced some shake up on one of the biggest weekends on the UK independent calendar.

Lucha Forever has announced that WWE UK Champion Tyler Bate will be replacing Ricochet for their debut ‘Dawning of Forever’ event that takes place Monday 17th April. The show will be available to view live via FloSlam, whether Bate will be shown on the live stream is unknown however with his WWE ties it seems extremely unlikely.

Over The Top announced that the planned 6-man tag match pitting Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks against The Uptown Funkers (Ryan Smile & Will Ospreay) will now see Ring of Honor star Lio Rush take Ricochet’s place.

Revolution Pro has also announced that Lio Rush will be replacing Ricochet. The team of Rush, Ryan Smile & Shane Strickland will face Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks at this Thursday’s Epic Encounter event in the world famous York Hall in Bethnal Green.
