CM Punk Reveals If He Misses Professional Wrestling

After departing from the WWE following the 214 Royal Rumble, former WWE Champion CM Punk decided to sign a multi-fight deal with the UFC and begin training in the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA). Despite dedicating two years of his life to prepare for his UFC debut, Punk dropped first round submission loss to young 170-pound prospect Mickey Gall at UFC 203 last year.

The 38-year-old, who trains with one of the best gyms in the MMA community in Roufusport, claims he wants to fight again, however, UFC President Dana White has been on record of saying that it’s unlikely it will happen. Punk recently appeared on ESPN Radio in Chicago to talk about his UFC future, as well as his past with WWE. When asked if he missed performing in the world of professional wrestling, Punk simply responded “Not at all.”

He also revealed that the WWE has gone after him via lawyers and people by proxy due to their anger that he “called them on their BS.” WWE senior ringside physician Dr. Chris Amann is suing Punk for defamation due to what he said on Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast back in 2014.

Punk also said he hasn’t spoken to UFC President Dana White for several months but feels he’ll know where he stands with the promotion in a month or two.

Ryback Explains The One Thing He Always Did That Set Vince McMahon Off

Its been almost a year since Ryback departed from WWE, as “The Big Guy” cited creative differences and a dispute with the company over equal pay for talents as his key reasons for deciding to leave. Since his departure, Ryback has been working the independent circuit in addition to launching his new podcast, Conversation With The Big Guy, in which he discusses his time with WWE.

On the latest edition of the show, Ryback discusses his relationship with CM Punk and why “The Cult Of Personality” grew to dislike him so much. He also revealed that one thing he always did that got “The Chairman Of The Board” Vince McMahon hot, was go off-script:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gq5Kzxx0IXA&t=220s

“I got in trouble multiple times for doing things much less… just like, off-the-cuff that got great reactions that Vince would get mad at because that wasn’t verbatim off the page. When people always say, ‘these guys need to go off the script,’ they don’t understand it depends who you are at times. That hurt me more than anything on promo stuff. And he would get furious with me at that. It was disappointing because it was never a lot.”

Photo: Austin Aries’ New Look Post-WWE Release

After being released from his WWE contract earlier this month, former WWE Cruiserweight Title challenger Austin Aries is currently on a 90-day non-compete agreement and will not be declared a free agent until October 5th. He is only allowed to work shows that WWE approves until then.

Since his departure from the company, however, Aries had decided to take on a whole new look. Aries shaved off all the hair from his head, as well as his beard, and posted the following photo in response to the revelation on Monday Night RAW that Jason Jordan was the son of Kurt Angle – referring to himself as Pitbull’s twin brother:

Elias Samson Shows No Remorse For Finn Balor Attack, WWE Trying To Recruit Gold Medalist?, 205 Live

Elias Samson shows no remorse after hitting Finn Balor with his guitar

Last night on RAW, Finn Balor defeated Elias Samson via DQ. Samson bashed Balor over the head with his guitar. The strike was so vicious that it created a gash on the side of Balor’s head as you can see in the photo below.

WWE uploaded a backstage interview with Elias Samson and he was asked about the attack. Samson simply kissed his guitar and walked away. Finn Balor will look to get his revenge next week on RAW when the two Superstars face off in a No Disqualifications match.

Akira Tozawa has rematch with Ariya Daivari tonight on 205 Live

Last night on RAW, Akira Tozawa faced Ariya Daivari. Daivari controlled the entire match and focused all of his attack on Tozawa’s shoulder. Titus O’Neil was ringside and eventually asked the referee to stop the match. Tozawa screamed at O’Neil following the match and then demanded a rematch with Daivari on 205 Live.

WWE has posted the following the following about Tozawa’s match with Daivari later tonight on 205 Live:

Is Tozawa too injured to compete?

Despite his loss to WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville at the first-ever WWE Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view – albeit by some questionable tactics from the champion – Akira Tozawa remains laser-focused on dethroning The King of the Cruiserweights.

However, last week on WWE 205 Live, Tozawa’s match against Ariya Daivari ended prematurely when Neville attacked and locked his nemesis in the Rings of Saturn. The extent of the damage done during the attack was unknown for nearly a week until Daivari and the Japanese Superstar squared off once more on Raw. During the contest, it was clear Tozawa was favoring his shoulder and The Persian Lion pounced. Neville’s attack, combined with Daivari’s merciless targeting of Tozawa’s shoulder led to Titus O’Neil quitting on behalf of his client.

After the match, Tozawa – upset that O’Neil made him quit – demanded that the Founder and CEO of Titus Worldwide secure not only a rematch with Neville for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, but also a rematch with Daivari.

Tozawa may be over-exerting himself, especially if he’s nursing an injury, and that makes him especially vulnerable to The King of the Cruiserweights. Can The Stamina Monster fight through the pain, or will O’Neil’s decision on Raw turn out to be the right one?

WWE continues to mention Hassan Yazdani

Ariya Daivari dedicated his victory last night on RAW to Iranian wrestler Hassan Yazdani. Daivari is apparently doing the same tonight and there is speculation that WWE is trying to recruit Yazdani to the company. Yazdani is 22 years old and won a gold medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Photo: WWE Hinted at Kurt Angle – Jason Jordan Announcement Before RAW Started

On last night’s (Mon. July 17, 2017) episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, it was announced that the highly-anticipated secret that RAW General Manager Kurt Angle had been hiding for the past few weeks, was that Jason Jordan was his long-lost son.

The former SmackDown Live Tag Team Champ, who served as one half of American Alpha, Jason Jordan will now be part of RAW, while his now-former partner Chad Gable stays on SmackDown Live. While many fans were wondering what the announcement Angle was going to make could be, the WWE actually (intentionally or not) dropped a major hint as to what it was before the show even started.

As fans were packing into the arena just before the show, the American Alpha symbol could be seen on the jumbo-screen above the ring:

Jim Ross On Kurt Angle & Jason Jordan Storyline, The Mae Young Classic, Braun Strowman

Jim Ross posted his latest blog earlier today and here are some highlights:

Kurt Angle and Jason Jordan storyline:

“Might just be me but after watching the Renee Young interview, nicely done BTW, with Kurt Angle and his ‘son’ Jason Jordan on the @WWENetwork after RAW, I can easily see where Jordan and  ‘Dad” could be terrific villains down the road.”

Mae Young Classic:

“Loved being a part of the Mae Young Classic that saw me in  Orlando for six days last week interviewing all 32 women representing 13 countries plus Lita and I called 30 bouts over two nights.  I’ve never been in a pro wresting environment where there was so much natural passion and motivation from the roster whose only agenda was to have great matches and take a giant step forward in building women’s wrestling.

I talk about ‘The Mae’ on this week’s podcast and will share that I never dreamed of how personally impactful this event would become to me until I became immersed in it throughout the interview process on Monday and Tuesday.  I enjoyed working with @AmyDumas and @Madusa_rocks very much. I fed off their passion without question and you will hear it if you listen to our broadcast.

As I understand it, the reason the broadcasts will begin airing August 28 instead of sooner is because the shows need through, post production/editing to add all the elements that are needed with the tournament format and personality profiles, etc. The finals will be live on the WWE Network on Tuesday night September 12 from Las Vegas following SD Live.

I’m guessing that several women will likely earn a WWE contract based on their performances in the tournament.”

Braun Strowman:

“Based on what I saw Monday night on Raw regarding Braun Strowman, I can easily see WWE going all the way with the giant athlete from North Carolina. A Lesnar-Strowman high level contest down the road is going to make a compelling main event and could elevate Strowman to the rarified air community.

Seems to me, simply by watching as  fan, that when Braun walked away from the ambulance crash of a few weeks ago, that he walked away as a ‘character ‘face’ or a least that’s  how I took it. Bottom line, it will be challenging for many fans to truly dislike this huge man. WWE has done a really nice job building Strowman to his current level.”

Backstage News On Plans For Jason Jordan & Kurt Angle Storyline, Future Of American Alpha

Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that the storyline with Jason Jordan and Kurt Angle is going to be a lengthy one that will play out over the next few months.  Last night on RAW, Kurt Angle finally revealed the secret he has been receiving text messages about for some time now on RAW. Angle came down to the ring and announced that a women he dated in college gave birth to a baby boy. That boy was put up for adoption and grew up to be WWE Superstar Jason Jordan.

Jordan is now set for a solid midcard level push and his relationship with RAW GM Kurt Angle will grow as Angle tries to be a father figure for Jordan. The storyline is set to be a central part of RAW going forward. Chad Gable posted this tweet following last night’s revelation:

It was mentioned last night during a WWE Network interview with Jordan and Angle that Jordan will officially be moving over to the RAW roster. The other half of American Alpha, Chad Gable, is staying on SmackDown and there are no plans for him to join Jordan on RAW. Gable posted the following on Instagram and stated that American Alpha has “done everything doable”:

Rumor on RAW Women’s Championship match for WWE SummerSlam

Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax have been portrayed as friends on recent episodes of RAW.

Alex Riley On Incident With John Cena That Affected His Career, Being Unhappy On Commentary, GLOW

The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling welcome a former WWE Superstar who has transitioned quite well into the world of acting as part of the SMASH Netflix series “GLOW” as Kevin Kiley Jr. (FKA Alex Riley) joins today’s program. This is a revealing and emotionally charged interview to say the least. Kevin opens up greatly about his time in the WWE and the trials and tribulations that helped mold his future outside of the wrestling business as well as address the longstanding rumors of his tension with John Cena and if that played a part into his departure from the company. We also get the story behind his very positive move into acting and the change of a lifetime being cast on Netflix’s GLOW revival. The full episode is available at this download link.

Did he expect this massive fan response to GLOW following his departure from WWE:

“Absolutely not. When the WWE and I decided to part ways after ten years there wasn’t much I didn’t do at WWE when it came to broadcasting and NXT back and fourth and the run with The Miz and all that stuff and the main event at WrestleMania, it was fantastic. I kind of got to the end of it and was trying to figure out what I was going to do career wise moving forward and I was trying to get into some broadcasting and acting which had always been a big dream of mine and obviously some of the WWE guys have gone on to do some acting, certainly The Rock and Cena is trying to parlay into some acting but I was just unsure and didn’t know. I had a tape put together while I was with WWE of the backstage things I had done and a lot of the broadcasting things I had done and sent it off to a bunch of people. One of them was a manager in Hollywood and he loved it and thought it was great and thought I could get some work right away or at least had a good shot at getting work but I don’t think anyone could have predicted this. This has been so far an out of the park home run type of thing for it just being this early in my acting career and it really being like the perfect role. When the audition came across his desk and he passed it down to me I remember reading it and thinking (uh-oh) that it is kind of eerie the type of role that it was.”

“I just thought it was such an eerie thing and was a; Well what if I do get this? I thought it could be interesting. The fact that I got it and the amount of success that it has had has been absolute incredible and I feel very fortunate to be a part of the whole thing and a kind of stars aligning in the right way and here I am talking to you guys so I can’t complain.”

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKGQbB_bTcE]

His actual role on the show as Steelhorse:

“Yeah and it is that all these things have been a great ride since the moment that I got the script. My manager explained to me that they weren’t just auditioning and that this was a guest star role (which I am learning now is a very important spot), it is a spot where they dedicate the plot of one story to your character and how you are involved in the plot moving forward. He said to me that they are not just auditioning wrestlers for this, they are auditioning actors for this and pretty much anybody in Hollywood that they think has a shot at this or fits this type was going to go up for this role and so I got it. The fact I got the part from that was incredibly exciting and to find out that it is a Netflix original series, I started paying a lot more attention to in addition to watching a ton of Netlix. It is the new movie now. I listened to Kevin Spacey say how a lot of prime time actors are going to be moving into episodic television because they have the opportunity to make their character a ten hour character and there is a lot more time and space to develop these stories and these characters and it is not just an hour and a half of special effects cut up and put in the box office. I think that is the truth and I think now that you are seeing certainly with Netflix a lot of these original series he (Spacey) is on “House of Cards”, “13 Reasons Why” and a lot of great stories with great plots and great characters that Netflix is now making and turning out and it shows and “GLOW” is right up there with all of that. It is a fantastic show and if you haven’t seen it please go out and check it out. It is like I stepped right out of the WWE and stepped right onto a team that of the best in Hollywood and from my first moment and turning every corner and finding out that it is just even bigger and bigger of a project than I had known about before has been just absolutely incredible.”

Was he happy with his role in WWE in a broadcasting role prior to his departure:

“Did I like it, I guess I’ve been asked this question before and this is how I’ve addressed it: No I did not. I don’t mean to be blunt but of course I didn’t. I went there to be a wrestler, I wanted to be a wrestler very badly and I certainly was athletic enough and certainly had the tools and a lot of tools to be the best wrestler there. I always felt like I had what it took to be the WWE Champion. To be 250lbs and ex-professional football player and to be sitting behind the desk was highly frustrating for me. That being said, I loved when the red light was on and I was talking WWE because it was fun and I always was a huge fan of WWE and always knew the product better than anybody else and had a great perspective of what it took to not only climb through High School and College to be a semi-professional football player because I’ve been an athlete my entire life so you weren’t going to put anybody on that panel that had more athletic experience in different realms and who could give a perspective of what happens inside of the ring. I had my ass kicked in the ring a lot of times and I kicked a lot of ass in the ring so I had perspectives on both. But no, absolutely not because I felt I should have been in the ring and it was about two years of my career that I was in great shape and proved it when I came off the desk and I wanted to be out there. That being said I was apart of the company and was able to work extremely hard and give them what I had behind the desk so in that regard it was a good thing.”

Addressing the John Cena rumors and if it played into his departure from the company:

“I guess I’m not saying anything that other people haven’t already kind of said. It is kind of out there but I’ll say this. There was an incident and it certainly affected the path of my career, however I am not going to talk about it right now and I’ve kind of gone back and fourth in my own times morally with do I say anything or do I not. I am not in the habit of destroying anybodies career so it is just something at this point that I don’t want to address further than that but one day I certainly will. It was a hard situation to deal with.”

Finn Balor Posts Photos of Guitar Shot Aftermath

Last night on Raw, Elias Samson hit Finn Balor with his guitar. While it looked as though Samson was aiming for Balor’s shoulder, the edge of the guitar collided with the side of his face and head.

Balor posted photos of his injury late last night:

Finn Balor Injury Woes

At the moment it looks as though the only injury suffered by Balor were the cuts, and he does not appear to have suffered a concussion. Since debuting on the main roster, Balor has suffered a shoulder injury which required surgery last summer, and a concussion shortly after his return this spring.

Kurt Angle & Jason Jordan Interview On WWE Network Recap

On this week’s episode of RAW, Kurt Angle revealed that he dated a woman in college that gave birth to a baby boy 9 months after their final date. The child was then put up for adoption and was raised by a family that taught him great American values. The boy grew up wanting to be a WWE Superstar and achieved that dream. Angle proceeded to announce that Jason Jordan was his son. Jason Jordan came down to the ring and shared a hug with his father Kurt Angle.

After RAW went off the air, Renee Young sat down with Jason Jordan and Kurt Angle on WWE Network. Jordan stated that he hired a private investigator to find out who his real parents were. The investigator eventually found his birth mother, who then informed Jordan that his real father was WWE Hall of Famer and RAW GM Kurt Angle.

Jason said that he was very grateful for the support he has received in his quest to find his real parents. It was also announced that Jordan will be joining the RAW roster. Jordan claimed that he did not want any special treatment simply because his father is the GM of RAW.

Kurt Angle said that he was nervous about telling the WWE Universe because he wasn’t sure how they would react. Angle stated that he hoped to be a good influence on his son moving forward. Angle brought up the mistakes he has made in his life and wants to make sure all of his children don’t go down the same path. The interview concluded with Angle saying that he was looking forward to getting to know his son.

Kurt Angle Tells His Secret On RAW, Reveals That Current WWE Superstar Is His Son (Video)

We finally got to find out what Kurt Angle’s secret was tonight on RAW. Angle and Corey Graves have been receiving text messages backstage on recent episodes of RAW. Angle claimed that if this information got out, it would destroy his reputation. Last week on RAW, Angle announced that he would reveal the secret to the WWE Universe tonight. During the beginning of tonight’s episode, Angle was having second thoughts but Corey Graves convinced him that this was the best thing to do.

RAW GM Kurt Angle made his way to the ring to kick off the third hour of RAW. The crowd greeted him with the usual “you suck!” chants as Angle entered the ring. Angle revealed that he dated a woman in college and that the woman gave birth to a baby boy 9 months after their last date. He also stated that the boy was put up for adoption and was taken in by a family that raised him with strong American values.

That boy then grew up with the dream of becoming a WWE Superstar. Angle got emotional and then announced that WWE Superstar Jason Jordan is his son. Jason Jordan then came down to the ring and the two shared a hug.

WWE RAW Recap & Reaction (7/17)

Dean Ambrose kicked off this week’s episode of RAW. Ambrose came down to the ring with a steel chair and stated that he was feeling bent out of shape because of The Miz. Ambrose called out The Miztourage and then took a seat on the chair in the middle of the ring. Seth Rollins then came down to the ring and joined Ambrose.

Rollins asked Ambrose why he was picking a fight he cannot win on his own. Rollins told Ambrose that he appreciated his toughness but he should calm down and come up with a better plan. Ambrose said that this was his battle and told Rollins to go away. Seth asked Ambrose if he will be standing in his way or by his side when he takes the fight to The Miz.

Dean hasn’t forgotten about Rollins turning his back on The Shield. Rollins got in Dean’s face and said that was three years ago and apologized. Seth stated that he has lived with that every single day of his life. Rollins said that he remembers Dean cashing in his MITB contract and defeating him for the WWE Championship. Rollins asked Ambrose if he will ever be able to move on from it.

Rollins then dared Ambrose to hit Rollins with the chair. Ambrose stared at Rollins for a bit and then threw the chair out of the ring. The Miz interrupted and was joined by Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. The Miz said Rollins and Ambrose were wasting their time because Ambrose will never forgive Rollins. The Miz went on to boast about getting the best of Ambrose for the past few months.

The Miztourage walked towards the ring and The Miz stopped on the entrance ramp as Bo and Axel surrounded the ring. The Miz, Bo and Axel all grabbed chairs and surrounded the ring. The crowd started chanting “Roman” as Rollins and Ambrose were beaten down. The Miz slammed Ambrose into the steel steps outside the ring. The Miz then joined Bo and Axel in the ring. Miz hit Rollins with a Skull Crushing Finale onto the chair in the ring. The Miz hit Ambrose with the chair one more time and The Miztourage celebrated on the entrance ramp by raising the chairs in the air.

Reaction: I don’t know why The Miz and Ambrose still need to be in a feud. The inclusion of Rollins, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel makes things a little more interesting, but I’d prefer to see The Miz feuding with someone else for the Intercontinental Championship. Dean Ambrose absolutely needs this mini-Shield reunion to work. He is as boring as it gets right now.

The Miztourage were shown exiting the arena in a hurry to avoid any type of retaliation from Ambrose and Rollins.

Bayley vs Alexa Bliss

Bayley beatdown Alexa in the corner to start off the match. Nia Jax came down to the ring and RAW went to a commercial break. When RAW returned, Alexa was in control of the match and Nia was ringside. Bayley fought back as the crowd chanted her name. Bayley bounced Alexa’s head off the turnbuckle and followed it up with a Clothesline that knocked Bliss to the mat.

Bayley connected with a Flying Elbow but clutched her injured arm after hitting the move. Bayley climbed to the second rope and hit an Elbow Drop. Alexa rolled out of the ring and Bayley chased her out there. Nia Jax got in Bayley’s way and Alexa capitalized. Sasha Banks then sprinted to the ring and hit Nia with a Dropkick. Back in the ring, Bayley planted Bliss with a Bayley to Belly for the victory.

Winner: Bayley

Kurt Angle was backstage with Corey Graves. Angle said he was having second thoughts about revealing his secrets tonight. Graves told Angle that the story will eventually get out and his reputation will go down the toilet. Graves said that the best way to handle this would be for Angle to tell the world himself. Angle agreed and stated that Graves’ friendship means the world to “both of us” and walked away.

Drew Gulak & Brian Kendrick vs Mustafa Ali & Jack Gallagher

Gulak and Kendrick beatdown Gallagher early, but Gallagher fought back with a series of headbutts. Gallagher then tagged in Ali and he then hit the inverted 450 Splash on Kendrick for the quick victory.

Winners: Mustafa Ali & Jack Gallagher

Enzo Amore came down to the ring to cut a promo. Enzo stated that their isn’t a man in the wrestling business that can elicit a reaction like himself. Enzo said that you always have to fight for what you believe in and brought up Big Cass. Amore said that Cass was the only one left standing during most of their matches and Cass being 7 feet tall never won them any championships. Big Cass finally interrupted after Enzo went on for several more minutes. Cass got into the ring and Enzo escaped and hopped over the barricade. Enzo then pulled up a chair and a child fan joined him. Enzo said he was going to sit back and enjoy this and Big Show came down to the ring.

Cass charged at Big Show while he was on the ring apron. Big Show shrugged it off and then beatdown Cass outside the ring. Big Show slammed Cass against the barricade as the crowd chanted “how you doin?”. Big Show slapped Cass across the chest and the sound echoed throughout the arena. Cass drove Big Show into the ring post and then focuses his attack on Big Show’s ribs. Enzo ran into the ring and Cass hit him with big boot. Cass then left the ring as Big Show and Amore were laid out in the ring.

Reaction: Enzo’s promo went on a bit too long in my opinion, but I didn’t dislike this segment. I’m assuming that Big Show will face Cass at SummerSlam. The entire purpose of this feud is to help get Big Cass over with the WWE Universe. He looked dominant tonight.

Roman Reigns was interviewed backstage about his #1 contenders match later tonight with Samoa Joe. Reigns said that he was going to defeat Joe and move onto to Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Reigns stated that he is the big dog around here and this is his yard.

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins were arguing backstage. RAW GM Kurt Angle showed up and said that next week Rollins and Ambrose will face any two members of The Miztourage. Ambrose wanted to face all three members and Rollins agreed. Next week it will be Rollins and Ambrose versus The Miztourage.

Elias Samson started performing a song in the ring and the crowd chanted “we want Balor”. Samson insulted Nashville and the crowd and was quickly interrupted by Finn Balor.

Balor then connected with another Dropkick that knocked Samson to the barricade. Samson grabbed his guitar ringside and bashed Balor over the head with it. Balor’s head was busted open a bit by the guitar shot.

After the match, Bray Wyatt appeared on the screen and started laughing. Bray stated that the look of pain on Balor’s face ignites his soul. Wyatt told Balor that he was going to summon all the power’s of the devil and reign them down on Balor. Wyatt then cackled again.

Winner via DQ: Finn Balor

Reaction: Samson and Balor had a solid match. Bray Wyatt and Balor will probably have a match at SummerSlam and Balor will come down to the ring as “The Demon King”. It should make for an interesting feud. I thought Wyatt’s feud with Rollins lacked any momentum and I never really understand what they were fighting for. I hope WWE has a better storyline for this feud.

Bayley and Sasha Banks had a conversation with Angle backstage. Both Sasha Banks and Bayley thought they should be the #1 contender for the RAW Women’s Championship. Angle announced that Bayley will face Sasha Banks next week and the winner of that match will face Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.

Daivari continued to attack Tozawa’s injured shoulder for the next couple of minutes. Titus O’Neil then hopped up on the ring apron and told the referee to stop the match. RAW GM Kurt Angle came down to the ring to reveal his secret. Angle revealed that he dated a young lady in college and that she gave birth to a baby boy. The boy was then put up for adoption. Angle talked about his son pursuing his dream of becoming a WWE Superstar. Angle then announced that Jason Jordan was his son. Jason Jordan then came down to the ring and hugged Angle as the crowd didn’t react at all.

Reaction:  I honestly don’t know what to make of this storyline. I think it is idiotic right now, but hopefully something entertaining comes of this in the future. This segment somehow felt uneventful after all of the times Graves and Angle were shown getting text messages. I’m also disappointed that American Alpha is likely going to be broken up because of this. Time will tell if this storyline becomes a success, but it started out with a thud. The crowd’s reaction tonight said it all.

The Revival vs The Hardy Boyz

The Hardys attacked The Revival before the match started as the crowd chanted “Brother Nero!”. Matt Hardy and Dawson started off the match. Matt got the upper-hand and tagged in Jeff. Jeff continued the beatdown and then Matt got back into the match. Matt wrestled Dawson down to the mat as Gallows and Anderson were shown backstage watching the match.

The Revival took control of the match and isolated Matt in the corner. Dawson booted Matt in the midsection and then connected with a couple of chops in the corner. Matt then bashed Dawson’s head off of every turnbuckle. Matt followed it up with a Bulldog for a two count. Jeff was tagged and Dash and Dawson were knocked out of the ring as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, The Revival were back in control. Dawson focused his attack on Matt’s leg and hung him up on the turnbuckle. Dash was tagged in and Jeff Hardy ran into the ring and shoved him to the mat. Dash and Dawson beatdown Matt in the corner while the referee forced Jeff back out of the ring. Dash continued to focus on Matt’s knee for the next couple of minutes and then tagged Dawson back in.

Matt Hardy finally tagged in Jeff and Dash was tagged in at the same time. Jeff connected with a Dropkick for a one count. Jeff booted Dash in the face and then hit a Splash off the second rope for a two count. Dawson distracted Jeff and Dash hit Jeff in the back of the head. Dawson was tagged back in and Jeff Hardy planted him with a Twist of Fate but Dash broke up the pinfall. Jeff went to the top rope but Dash shoved him off and Jeff landed crotch-first on the top rope. Dawson then pinned Jeff while using grabbing Jeff’s pants for leverage.

Winners: The Revival

Reaction: I thought that this was a solid match. The Revival are a terrific tag team. One can only hope that they get over with the WWE Universe soon. If they don’t, Dash Wilder may be announced to be Triple H’s son in a couple of months.

Samoa Joe was interviewed backstage and guaranteed a victory over Roman Reigns tonight.

Titus O’Neil told Tozawa backstage that he stopped the match to protect Tozawa’s future. Tozawa then demanded a match with Daivari on 205 Live tomorrow night. A No DQ match between Elias Samson and Finn Balor was also announced for next week’s episode of RAW.

Samoa Joe vs Roman Reigns (Winner Faces Brock Lesnar For Universal Championship At SummerSlam)

Joe slapped Reigns in the face and Reigns knocked him down with a shoulder tackle. Joe then rolled out of the ring to regroup. Reigns kept punching Joe in the face as he climbed up on the ring apron. RAW went to a commercial break with Reigns in control of the match. When RAW returned, Joe was in control and connected with a kick to Reigns’ head.

Reigns knocked Joe to the mat with a Clothesline. Reigns connected with a boot to Joe’s face that sent him to the mat. Reigns geared up for the Superman Punch but Joe rolled out of the ring. Roman followed him to the outside but Joe connected with a massive Clothesline. Joe then charged at Roman again but Reigns was ready and connected with a Clothesline of his own and both Superstars fell to the floor outside the ring. RAW then went to another commercial break.

When RAW returned, Reigns planted Joe with a Samoan Drop for a two count. Reigns went for a Superman Punch but Joe caught him and kicked him in the face. Joe then connected with a Senton for a two count. Reigns connected with the Superman Punch but Joe kicked out at two. Braun Strowman’s music hit and Strowman charged towards the ring.

Reigns hit Strowman with a right hand and knocked Strowman off the ring apron. Braun bashed Reigns into the barricade and then threw him through the second and top rope back in the ring. Joe and Strowman started brawling outside the ring. Braun leveled Joe with a Clothesline. Braun got back into the ring and beatdown Reigns in the corner. Joe got back into the ring and Braun beat him down in the corner as well.

Joe locked in the Coquina Clutch but Roman hit him with a Superman Punch. Reigns then went for a Superman Punch onto Strowman but Braun caught him and planted him with a Spinebuster. Strowman slammed Joe to the mat. Braun lifted Reigns up and hit him with a Running Powerslam. Strowman picked Reigns up once again and planted him with another Running Powerslam.

Reaction: Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns put on a very good match to close out the show. The Universal Championship at SummerSlam is going to be very interesting no matter what it turns out to be. It amazes me how easily Strowman can lift up Superstars like Joe and Reigns. RAW was bizarre tonight, but at the very least there are things to talk about. Kurt Angle’s secret turned out to be that Jason Jordan was his son. It just sounds ridiculous, but the storyline’s success will come down to what WWE does in the next few weeks. The SummerSlam main-event is still up in the air on who gets to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. I think the best case scenario would be a Fatal 4-Way match and it clearly seems like WWE is heading in that direction.

Enzo hops into the crowd and tells a fan to watch what’s about to happen, then The Big Show’s music hits. Big Show hits the ring and immediately him and Cass start brawling out of he ring and all around ringside. Justin Roberts Reveals if Daniel Bryan Really Was Choking Him During Tie Incident

Ex-WWE ring announcer Justin Roberts recently did an interview with Cult Of Whatever to talk about his time with the company. Roberts talked about a variety of topics, however, the real eye-grabber was Roberts’ comments on whether or not he was actually being choked by Daniel Bryan with his tie during the Nexus invasion segment on Monday Night RAW years ago. Here’s what Roberts had to say about what happened:

“That was crazy, every week for years I would look around and the people around me would get beat down but they never got me. They would always get the timekeeper and I was always safe. On that night when the Nexus invaded Monday Night Raw Arn Anderson told me before hand I may not be safe and that is when we found out what was going on.

“As far as the tie is concerned it wasn’t planned like Daniel came up to me and said he was going to get a tie and do this to me. He had a general idea of what was going to happen and Daniel Bryan is very smart, he is great at what he does and when he saw my laying there with my shirt off and tie around my neck instinct just took over and he saw an opportunity to get the job done which he was supposed to get done. They were told to go out there and cause havoc, nobody said don’t do this or don’t do that, they were told to make an impact.

“He really did strangle me and people still to this day ask me if I was acting and I wasn’t acting, I was legitimately getting choked. I tried to get my finger in-between me neck and the tie but I just couldn’t get it to go in, I was choked for a short amount of time but I was fine and when I got to the back everybody was happy with the way the segment went. Vince was happy, I was happy, Nexus were happy, the fallout came afterwards when one of the sponsors wasn’t pleased.”

Quote: I Think All The Guys Are Jealous of Roman Reigns

It’s no secret that former Shield member Roman Reigns is one of the most hated Superstars on the WWE’s roster right now, but that doesn’t change the fact that “The Big Dog” has had a tremendous amount of success during his time with the company – something former RAW Women’s Champion Sasha Banks is able to recognize.

Banks recently did a few media appearances in Australia and found herself visiting the Victoria Zoo during one of them. During her visit, “The Boss” was asked to name who she believes was the best male wrestler on the roster. Banks broke the rules a bit and named three, however, she placed Roman Reigns at the top of her list and claimed that ‘all the guys are jealous of him’:

“I love Roman Reigns. Whether you guys love him, boo him, hate him – I think all the guys are jealous of him. He is an incredible athlete. He’s one to watch. He does it and kills it every single week”

“Of course, I have to say Cesaro. I watch his stuff and I go, “How do you think of that?” He’s so strong… Let me choose someone on SmackDown… of course, AJ Styles. He is legit phenomenal, I’m just like in awe every time I see him wrestle. He’s so sweet… he’s my Uncle Allen. What’s up, Unc? You good?”

Kenny Omega Takes a Shot at Kota Ibushi & The WWE Cruiserweight Classic Tournament

Last year, New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) star Kota Ibushi missed out on the G1 Climax tournament in favor of working the WWE’s inaugural Cruiserweight Classic Tournament (CWC). Ibushi had a fair amount of success in the tournament as he made it to the semi-finals before losing to eventual winner TJ Perkins.

Ibushi will be back this year to participate in the G1 Climax tournament, but it seems as though he has some beef with fellow star Kenny Omega who feels Ibushi abandoned him last year in favor of chasing his ‘pipe dream’ in the WWE:

“After you left me all alone. To fend for myself. I never stopped training. I never stopped sacrificing. I never stopped feeling the pain, I never ran away like you did. So if you can make it to the finals, that’s where I’ll be waiting. And then finally I’ll make you feel the pain, Ibushi. And I’ll show you through my actions, everything that I felt while you were away – after you threw me away – to accomplish your own dream. Your own pipe dream of becoming a world famous CWC participant.”

Sasha Banks Posts Cryptic Message on Social Media

Many fans are beginning to worry about the future of “The Boss” in WWE after a recent Tumblr post she made this past weekend. Banks is arguably the biggest female fan-favorite on the WWE’s roster and has held the RAW Women’s Title multiple times since making her main roster debut, with more title reigns certainly in her future.

Despite all this, fans believe Banks’ time in the professional wrestling industry could be short lived, as she posted the following on Tumblr yesterday (Sun. July 16, 2017):

“Two more years left! New beginnings coming”

Discussion: What do you think Banks could be referring to in this post?

Kurt Angle Reveals The One Reason He Almost Never Signed With WWE

After over a decade away from WWE, Kurt Angle has finally returned home where he belongs. The former Olympic Gold Medal winner was brought back back in April as he was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame just prior to WrestleMania 33. Soon after, Vince McMahon officially announced angle as the new General Manager of Monday Night RAW, bringing Angle back to weekly WWE programming once again.

Recently, a WWE Network special entitled WWE 24 – Kurt Angle: Homecoming revealed some of the backstory behind the former WWE Champion and Vince McMahon’s relationship, and how Angle’s entrance into the world of professional wrestling came about. Per Angle, just after his Olympic Gold Medal win in 1996 he was contacted by Vince McMahon for a possible signing. Angle initially turned the contract offer down and almost ruined his chances of ever being a WWE Superstar because he refused to lose to who he was brought up to believe were ‘fake’ wrestlers:

“In 1996, after I won the gold medal, Vince McMahon said he’d like to meet with me. He threw a contract at me right away. It was a 10-year deal. It was more money than I ever saw in my lifetime at that time. I looked at the contract and stared back at Vince and said, ‘Mr. McMahon, thank you for the offer. I hope you know I’m an Olympic gold medalist, so I could never lose.’ I didn’t hear from Vince McMahon after that. I didn’t get it. I didn’t understand what this was. As a kid, I was taught by my brothers and coaches, ‘don’t watch that stuff. It’s fake. You’re real.’ So I never did.”

After a while Angle seemed to have a change of heart and contacted then-head of WWE Talent Relations Jim Ross, who told him the contract offer from he and McMahon’s previous meeting was no longer available but he was more than welcome to come down and try out just like everyone else. Although he almost quite halfway through the first day of training, Angle impressed WWE officials so much he was offered a contract on day three of his tryout.

Despite having dropped the idea of never losing in a WWE ring, Angle still was hesitant when it came to hearing some of Vince McMahon’s ideas for his character:

“I said, ‘look, you’re this hero. At the same time, when we bring you into WWE, you’re going to be a heel, so to speak, because you’re so good. You’ve accomplished so much. You’re above the business. ‘I’m a real wrestler.'” McMahon continued, “and I said, ‘what’s going to happen is people are really going to boo the hell out of you.’ ‘Oh no, Vince, that’s not going to happen.'”

Kurt Angle and Triple H at WWE Hall of Fame 2017 ceremony.

After hearing the negative reception Angle received from not only WWE fans around the world, but fans of his own hometown of Pittsburgh, Angle was finally able to admit McMahon knew what he was talking about:

“I doubted Vince McMahon the whole time. I doubted him from Day One. I said, ‘there’s no way in hell they’re going to boo me. There’s no way in hell they’re going to disrespect me. I’m an Olympic gold medalist. These people are going to love me.’ And he said, ‘no, they’re going to be the opposite.’ And he was right.”
