Video: Paul Heyman’s Emotional Speech During Jim Ross’ Live Show

One of the must-see events of SummerSlam weekend was the Ringside With Jim Ross live show from the Gotham Comedy club on Friday night with special guest Paul Heyman.

As you may recall, this was the event that saw Heyman buy tempura shrimp for the crowd of over 300 fans (Video).

At the conclusion of the show, Heyman delivered an emotional speech about his longtime friend, who he credits for prolonging his career in the wrestling business and paving the way for his involvement with Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). He then spoke about the tragic loss of JR’s beloved wife Jan earlier this year. Being someone who values his own privacy, he questioned why JR would want to get on stage in such an intimate setting after experiencing such a difficult personal loss. We’ll let you watch the video to see JR’s response.

In a classy move at the end, Heyman wrapped up his speech and bid him and the audience farewell, allowing JR to end the show with the spotlight on him.

Current Plan For WWE WrestleMania 34 Main Event

With SummerSlam in the books, WWE has reportedly settled on a main event for WrestleMania 34 event from New Orleans. On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer, Dave Meltzer stated that the current plan is for Brock Lesnar to face Roman Reigns.

WWE officials were considering John Cena vs. Roman Reigns as one of the marquee matches for WrestleMania, but the decision was made to begin that feud earlier and we’re already seeing the seeds planted for that match to take place in the coming months.

The Lesnar vs. Reigns match was the original plan for WM34 going back several months, but WWE backed off on that scenario for a few months before coming back to it recently.

Lesnar vs. Strowman and Lesnar vs. Reigns were discussed for SummerSlam before WWE ultimately went with the Fatal 4 Way match.

Right now the biggest money match for Lesnar is Braun Strowman, which WWE announced last night as the main event for next month’s No Mercy pay-per-view (9/24).

Lesnar’s current WWE contract expires after WrestleMania, so it will be interesting to see if he signs on for another year or who Lesnar works with in his final program before finishing up with the company once again.

Roman Reigns Talks About Reforming The Shield, Ric Flair (Video)

RAW Superstar Roman Reigns appeared on ESPN Sports Center on Monday to discuss the fallout of WWE SummerSlam, the possibility of reforming The Shield with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose and Ric Flair’s current health battle.

Reigns said he’s banged up from SummerSlam but the show goes on. He talked about performing in front of the rowdy New York crowd and thinks WWE delivered a great show for the fans.

When asked about the possibility of a potential Shield reunion, Reigns said right now he’s focused on the WWE Universal Championship. All 3 members of The Shield have gone on to become World Champions and that’s what everybody in WWE strives for. That said, he spoke fondly of the ‘magic’ the three Shield members had together and left the door open for them getting back together some time i the future.

“Hopefully in the near future maybe. Not only to prolong my career maybe, because it does take it out of you running into those meatballs [his SummerSlam opponents of Samoa Joe, Brock Lesnar, and Braun Strowman] for 30 minutes at a time, but there’s just some kind of magic when the three of us get together and we’re just moving on all cylinders. It always seems to be a great time for the crowd.”

He also commented on Ric Flair fighting for his life in the hospital and how much Flair’s friendship means to him.

“Well, for me I’m a generational superstar, my father, my uncle, multiple cousins,my brother, they were all within the WWE, they all wrestled,” said Reigns. “And that’s one thing you can kind of tell – even all the way up to the McMahons – that this is a family business and it runs deep. Even now, he has a daughter who’s been a great performer, great champion, and spokesperson for the women of WWE and WWE, in general.”

He continued, “To see something like this happen, I don’t know enough details to share, but all I know is I’m great friends with Ric. I’ve been on many tours and just hung out with him and spoke with him, he’s just such a genuine man. Such a good time, eccentric, such a charismatic person, but such a kind guy. If you’re friends with him, you’ll know it, he’ll love on ya and just all my prayers and thoughts are with him, Charlotte, and the rest of their family. I hope for a speedy recovery, and Ric, bring your butt back, we need you on tour. And that’s coming straight from the ‘Big Dog’ right here. We need ya back, man.”

Several Fans Ejected From RAW For Beach Balls

One of the weird spots SummerSlam 2017 will be remembered for, is Cesaro going into the crowd during an ongoing match and tearing a Beach Ball limb to limb.

While the Raw Star successfully eliminated the Beach Ball from the equation for the night it didn’t take long before it returned to WWE and it came back the following night on Raw.

As noted by multiple sources another Beach Ball was doing rounds of the arena last night on Raw during the 8 men Cruiserweight Tag team match and the match between Finn Balor and Jason Jordan.

When security guards tried to take the ball from the audience, the crowd started to toss it around to keep it out of the reach of guards. Though after a small struggle they were successful in getting the hold of it as seen below:

WWE producer Brian “Road Dogg” James expressed his displeasure with the disruptions, calling it “disrespect at its core” to all WWE talent.

Several fans were evacuated from the arena by the security for this incident. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to keep the Beach Ball out of action.

Another ball made its way in the arena during the Tag team Main Event of The Show and this time it also made an appearance on TV as John Cena noticed it and waved at the ball’s direction.

The whole beach ball incident was an attempt to hijack the show by several fans and a total of 22 balls were released into the arena during the Raw episode, though only 2 of them got caught on Camera.

Meanwhile, John Cena cut a small promo after the show went off air and he also mentioned the Beach Ball Mania which was running wild. The promo of Cena can be seen below:

https://twitter.com/Johannymota/status/899839693898092546

The fans have divided opinion on the whole thing. Some believe that it was disrespecting to the performers putting their bodies on the line while others think it was a fun incident.

Nonetheless, it was one of the incidents which cannot be compared to anything else you might have seen on Live TV and it certainly once again proves that ‘anything can happen’ in WWE.

Video: John Cena Surprised By Fans He Has Inspired

WWE sent in a video of John Cena being surprised by fans he has inspired with his motto of “Never Give Up.” The spot is running across WWE’s and Cricket Wireless’ global digital and social platforms.

Cena was brought to film a commercial where he’d read letters from WWE fans. One by one, Cena reads the notes out loud and is touched by each person he affected.

The last thank you note featured is in the form of a video message by a child name Tyler Schweer, whose mother had breast cancer. Tyler mentions how John gave Tyler his wristband at a WWE event that shows John’s famous “Never Give Up” phrase. Tyler gave this wristband to his mother who was battling breast cancer.

What he doesn’t know is that those same fans are listening in another room. One by one, they greeted Cena in person to thank him for changing their lives.

In less than 24 hours, the video has over 500,000 views and is currently the #3 trending video on YouTube.

John Cena’s WWE character is often polarizing, but the positive impact he has around people around the world is undeniable.

Latest WWE Signee Spotted In New York, Possibly Appearing At SmackDown Tonight

We noted before how former WWE United States Champion Shelton Benjamin reportedly signed a deal with WWE just recently after a year full of rumours.

Benjamin was originally supposed to sign a contract back in 2016 and WWE even started airing promos for his return to the SmackDown Brand following Brand Split.

However, his return plans were nixed when he suffered an injury which put him out of action for 8 months. After he was medically cleared it was revealed that he hadn’t signed a deal with the company.

According to multiple sources, Benjamin was spotted arriving in New York late Monday afternoon. Since it was revealed that he has signed a new deal with the company, it has been rumoured that the Former Champion be will be joining the SmackDown Brand as originally planned.

While not confirmed it’s possible that we may see him making his surprise return to WWE Programming during tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live.

It’s worth mentioning here that according to reports, former NXT Champion Bobby Roode is also expected to be called up to the main roster soon. He is rumoured to join the SmackDown Brand, and it shouldn’t be a surprise if he shows up at tonight’s show too.

Big Cass Using Crutches Following Injury On RAW (Video), Cruiserweight Championship Rematch On 205 Live

Big Cass on crutches following injury on RAW

Big Cass faced Enzo Amore in a Brooklyn Street Fight last night on WWE RAW. Cass dominated the entire match, but everything changed when he charged at Enzo while Amore was leaning up against the ropes. Enzo ducked at the last second and Big Cass went flying out of the ring and landed awkwardly on his leg. The match was stopped shortly after this as Big Cass fell down while trying to hit an Empire Elbow. Enzo was awarded the victory as Big Cass was unable to continue due to being injured. WWE uploaded the following video of Cass using crutches following the match:

On last week’s episode of RAW, Akira Tozawa dethroned the King of the Cruiserweights and became the Cruiserweight Champion. During Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam Kickoff Show, Tozawa defended his Cruiserweight Championship. Tozawa seemed to be in control of the match, but things fell apart when he went for the Senton Bomb. Neville was ready for it and was able to get his knees up. Neville then connected with the Red Arrow onto Tozawa’s back for the pinfall victory.

On last night’s episode of RAW, Neville was interviewed backstage about becoming the Cruiserweight Champion once again. Neville bragged about his victory but was quickly interrupted by Titus O’Neil and Akira Tozawa. O’Neil informed Neville that Tozawa will invoke his rematch clause tonight on 205 Live.

WWE RAW Recap & Reaction (8/21)

Paul Heyman and Universal Champion Brock Lesnar kicked off this week’s episode of RAW. Lesnar had a giant grin on his face as he made his way down to the ring. The crowd chanted “Suplex City!” as Lesnar and Heyman stood in the ring. Heyman introduced Lesnar as Brock hopped around the ring and posed for the crowd.

Heyman once again brought up the “conspiracy” against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Heyman called the attacks on Lesnar last night “heinous” and stated that last night was the first time Brock Lesnar has ever been carted off in a stretcher during a match. Heyman boasted about Lesnar refusing medical attention to come back down to the ring to finish the Fatal 4-Way match last night at WWE SummerSlam.

Heyman said that Lesnar pinned Roman Reigns last night and the Barclays Center broke out in a “yes!” chant. Heyman referred to Lesnar as the “ruler of the WWE Universe” and Lesnar raised the Universal Championship. Braun Strowman’s music hit and Strowman marched towards the ring.

Strowman and Lesnar stared at each other in the ring as the crowd cheered. The two Superstars got face to face as the crowd chanted “Strowman”. Braun went for a Chokeslam but Brock broke free. Strowman then hit Lesnar with a big boot and then planted Lesnar with a Running Powerslam. Brock stumbled back to his feet and Strowman once again planted him with the Running Powerslam. Strowman raised the Universal Championship in the ring and circled Lesnar as the crowd chanted “yes!”. Strowman then exited the ring as Lesnar rolled around in pain.

Reaction: Braun Strowman stole the show last night at WWE SummerSlam. He is quickly becoming one of the most popular Superstars in WWE. Lesnar and Strowman face off in a match at No Mercy and it will be must-see television. I loved how Strowman didn’t grab a microphone and cut a promo on Lesnar. He simply walked down to the ring and manhandled the Universal Champion and left. It was great.

Brooklyn Street Fight: Big Cass vs Enzo Amore

Enzo cut a promo before the match and said that this story is ending tonight. Enzo then walked backstage and grabbed a shopping cart full of weapons. Cass stormed up the entrance ramp as Enzo helplessly tried to throw crutches and trash can lids at him. Cass knocked Enzo down and then slammed the cart into Enzo. Cass connected with a big boot in the ring as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Cass was still in control of the match. Enzo hit a Jawbreaker and started to crawl towards a steel chair in the ring but Cass prevented him. Cass launched Enzo to the turnbuckle and then hit him with a Splash. The crowd chanted “a**hole” as Cass perched Enzo up across the top ropes. Big Cass clubbed Enzo across the back several times until he fell to the ring apron.

Cass went for a big boot but Enzo ducked and pulled the ropes and Cass went flying out of the ring. Enzo once again slowly made his way to the steel chair. Enzo grabbed the chair but Cass stomped on Enzo’s hand. Cass Body Slammed Amore and then was going to go for the Empire Elbow but his knee buckled. Cass apparently injured himself when he went flying out of the ring.

Cass was then attended to medical officials and the match was stopped. Enzo was announced as the winner of the match because Cass could not continue due to injury.

Winner: Enzo Amore

Reaction:  It didn’t look good for Big Cass. He landed very awkwardly on the floor outside the ring.

Emma and Dana Brooke were backstage. Emma talked trash about Nia Jax ahead of their match tonight. Emma made fun of Nia Jax for believing Alexa Bliss and essentially called Nia an idiot. Emma was completely unaware that Nia Jax was standing behind her the entire time. Emma finally realized it and stopped talking. Nia then said that “after their match tonight, the trend on Twitter will be #GiveEmmaCPR”.

Emma vs Nia Jax

Emma slapped Nia across the face to start off the match. Nia then leveled her with a shoulder tackle and then dropped a couple of elbows on her. Nia then threw Emma across the ring and went for a Splash in the corner but Emma got out of the way. Emma hit a Dropkick but Nia immediately planted her with a Samoan Drop for the pinfall victory.

Winner: Nia Jax

Elias performed a song about his opponent R-Truth. Elias mocked R-Truth’s “What’s up?” song and then started singing a song. The crowd started clapping along and Elias stopped and told the crowd to stop. R-Truth then interrupted and rapped his way down to the ring.

R-Truth vs Elias

R-Truth connected with a Spinebuster for a one count. Elias elbowed R-Truth in the face but R-Truth responded by kicking Elias in the face. Elias then planted R-Truth with Drift Away for the easy victory.

Winner: Elias

RAW General Manager Kurt Angle came down to the entrance ramp to announce a surprise. Angle then welcomed John Cena to RAW for the first time in over a year. Cena stated that he joined RAW because he has wanted to stand face to face with a certain WWE Superstar for a long time.

Roman Reigns’ music then hit and Reigns made his way down to the ring. Reigns said that the only time Cena is looking for him is when he is running his mouth on Twitter. Reigns asked Cena if he was now going to run his mouth to his face now that he is his yard. The crowd started to chant “Undertaker”.

Cena stated that he didn’t come to RAW to talk and dropped the microphone. Cena then took off his shirt and The Miz’s music hit. The Miz, The Miztourage and Maryse came down to the ring. The Miz mispronounced “Barclays” and Cena poked fun at him for it. The Miz then fake laughed and proceeded about Cena and Reigns getting all of these “moments”.

The Miz said that in life you are always told that if you work hard you will get your moment. The Miz claimed that Roman Reigns and Cena constantly get moments and they don’t deserve them. The crowd chanted “yes!” as The Miz scolded Reigns and Cena. The Miz complained about not being on SummerSlam’s main card. The Miz asked if RAW needs John Cena and the entire crowd chanted “no!”.

Cena said that he is a man of the people and he will just show himself out. The Miz grabbed Cena as he was trying to leave the ring and said that he wasn’t finished talking to him yet. The Miz said that he is sick of not getting the respect that he deserves and asked where his moment was. The Miz said that he is the only champion in the ring and that he deserves a moment.

Cena then proposed that he teams up with Roman Reigns later tonight to face The Miz and a partner of his choosing. The Miz said that he is in a suit and not ready to compete. Samoa Joe then interrupted and joined the party in the ring. Samoa Joe then volunteered to be Miz’s partner later tonight. Joe got in Reigns’ face and said that he is sick of Roman Reigns claiming that this is his yard. Joe also stated that he owns Roman Reigns one-on-one.

Joe then turned his attention to John Cena and attacked him in the corner. The Miztourage got in the ring and attacked Reigns. Roman threw them all out of the ring as John Cena lifted Joe up for an Attitude Adjustment. Joe reversed it into the Coquina Clutch but Reigns hit Joe with a Superman Punch. The crowd chanted “you both suck!” as Reigns and Cena stood tall in the ring.

Reaction: This was a great moment. The crowd booed the hell out of both Reigns and Cena. Say what you want about The Miz, but his promo skills are off the charts. He made this entire segment that much better. I’m not really a fan of either Cena or Reigns when it comes to their on-screen characters. I know that they can both go in the ring and whenever this match happens, the atmosphere will be absolutely incredible.

Tony Nese, Noam Dar, Drew Gulak & Ariya Daivari vs Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander, Gran Metalik & Mustafa Ali

This match went back and forth until RAW went to a commercial break. When RAW returned, Gran Metalik Moonsaulted onto Gulak and Dar outside the ring. Back in the ring, Alexander planted Tony Nese with the Lumbar Check for the pinfall victory.

Winners: Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander, Gran Metalik & Mustafa Ali

Neville was interviewed backstage about becoming the Cruiserweight Champion once again at WWE SummerSlam. Titus O’Neil and Akira Tozawa quickly interrupted. Titus announced that Tozawa will get his rematch for the title tomorrow night on 205 Live.

Jason Jordan approached his father Kurt Angle backstage and asked for a match against Finn Balor tonight on RAW. Angle asked Jordan if he thinks that he is ready for that level of competition and Jordan said yes. Angle said that he has got the match and the two hugged.

RAW Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose came down to the ring. Rollins said it felt good to stand side-by-side with Dean Ambrose with the RAW Tag Team Championships. Ambrose said that he slept with the title under his pillow last night. Rollins said that tonight is a party and all of Brooklyn is invited. Ambrose said everyone is invited besides Sheamus and Cesaro of course and then challenged a team from the back to come down and face them. The Hardy Boyz answered the call and made their way to the ring.

Jeff and Matt congratulated Seth and Dean on their victory at SummerSlam. Matt then challenged Rollins and Ambrose to a match. Rollins said that they grew up idolizing The Hardy Boyz. Rollins then accepted the match and RAW went to a commercial break.

The Hardy Boyz vs Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose and Matt Hardy started off the match. Matt elbowed Ambrose in the face and then tagged in Jeff. Rollins was then tagged in as well and he delivered a kick to Jeff’s face for a two count. Sheamus and Cesaro were shown watching the match backstage. Hardy slung Rollins into the turnbuckle and then charged at Seth. Rollins was ready and bounced Matt’s head off the second turnbuckle and then tagged in Ambrose.

Jeff Hardy tagged in and Rollins quickly tagged himself in. All four Superstars were in the ring and stared at each other as the crowd cheered. Matt knocked Ambrose out of the ring and then Jeff Clotheslined Rollins out of the ring. RAW went to a commercial break with The Hardys in control of the match.

When RAW returned, Rollins connected with a spin kick that knocked Jeff Hardy to the canvas. Ambrose and Matt were then tagged in and Ambrose leveled Matt with a Clothesline. Matt knocked both Rollins and Ambrose out of the ring and tagged in Jeff Hardy. Jeff then hit Poetry in Motion onto both Rollins and Ambrose outside the ring.

Back in the ring, Jeff elbowed Dean and then tried to flip onto Ambrose but Rollins dragged him out of the way. Jeff crashed to the canvas and Ambrose went for the cover but Jeff kicked out at two. Rollins then tagged in and applied a Chin Lock to Jeff Hardy. Jeff battled to his feet but Rollins planted him with a Suplex for a two count.

Ambrose got back into the match and stomped on Jeff’s midsection. Ambrose Clotheslined Jeff for a two count and tagged Rollins back in. Rollins connected with a Splash and then applied a Chin Lock in the middle of the ring. Jeff battled out of the hold and then hit Whisper in the Wind onto both Ambrose and Rollins.

Matt finally was tagged back in and he knocked Ambrose out of the ring. Matt then bounced Seth’s head off of every turnbuckle as the crowd chanted “delete!”. Matt connected with a running Bulldog for a two count. Matt hopped up to the second rope and connected with an elbow to the back of Rollins’ head.

Ambrose was tagged back and he lifted Matt up and Rollins planted him with a Slingblade. Ambrose went for the pin but Jeff broke up the cover with a Dropkick. Ambrose threw Matt out of the ring and then hit Jeff with a Dropkick that knocked him out of the ring as well. Ambrose and Rollins then hit double Suicide Dives onto The Hardys.

Matt slammed Rollins on the ring apron and then got back into the ring with Ambrose. Dean went for the Lunatic Lariat but Matt countered it into a Side Effect for a two count. Matt climbed up to the top rope but Ambrose punched him in the back and then joined him up there. Ambrose hit Matt with a headbutt that knocked him to the canvas. Jeff tagged in and Matt hit Ambrose with the Twist of Fate. Jeff then went for the Swanton Bomb but Ambrose got his knees up.

The crowd chanted “this is awesome” as Ambrose and Jeff got back to their feet. Rollins tagged himself in and Ambrose connected with a knee to Jeff Hardy. Ambrose then hit Dirty Deeds on Jeff and Rollins quickly covered him for the pinfall victory.

Winners: Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose

Reaction: I thought this match was very good. Corey Graves pointed out that Rollins and Ambrose weren’t completely on the same page tonight because they only recently reunited. There were some sloppy moments in this match but it still was entertaining. I’d like to see this match happen again in the near future for the RAW Tag Team Championships.

The Miz and The Miztourage were backstage with Samoa Joe. The Miz said he was glad Joe decided to join The Miztourage. Samoa Joe told him to shut up and then laid out the following game plan. Joe told Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel to remain as a constant presence outside the ring. Joe then said The Miz should do that unorthodox annoying thing he does in the ring. Joe then angrily asked if everyone understood and The Miz nodded his head. Joe then walked away.

RAW Women’s Champion Sasha Banks came down to the ring and wished Ric Flair well because the world needs the Nature Boy. Sasha Banks stated that the world does not need a wannabe goddess in reference to Alexa Bliss. Alexa interrupted and said that Sasha Banks has never successfully defended the RAW Women’s Championship. Banks made fun of Bliss for tapping out at SummerSlam and the crowd chanted “you tapped out”.

Banks challenged Alexa to use her rematch clause right now. Alexa declined and said that none of these Brooklyn fanboys deserve to see an Alexa Bliss championship celebration. Alexa Bliss then said that she have her rematch for the RAW Women’s Championship next week on RAW.

Jason Jordan vs Finn Balor

Jordan tried to shake Balor’s hand during the match and Balor responded by kicking Jordan in the chest and then applying a Chin Lock. RAW went to a break with Balor in control. When RAW returned, Jordan was in control of the match but Balor quickly fought back. Jordan connected with a Belly to Belly Suplex but Balor responded with an overhead kick.

Jordan slammed Balor into the turnbuckle several times while carrying Balor around the ring. Balor was able to knock Jordan to the mat with a Dropkick then hit the Coupe de Grace for the victory.

Winner: Finn Balor

Reaction: Jason Jordan looked good during this match. The crowd isn’t behind him at all though. I am still waiting for something mildly interesting to happen in this storyline. It is already feeling like an afterthought that Jordan is Kurt Angle’s son.

The Miz & Samoa Joe vs John Cena & Roman Reigns

Cena and The Miz started the match off. Cena planted Miz with a running Bulldog and Miz immediately tagged in Samoa Joe. A beach ball was flying around the arena and it was a captured by a security guard. The crowd booed and The Miz clapped on the ring apron. An “a**hole” chant broke out as the security guard took the beach ball away. Joe beatdown Cena in the corner and then tagged in The Miz.

The crowd chanted “we want beach ball” as The Miz shook his head in the ring. Miz booted Cena in the face and then taunted Reigns on the ring apron. The crowd started doing the wave and Miz became distracted. Cena then leveled Miz with a Clothesline and Cena watched the crowd do the wave. Cena then participated in the wave and Miz capitalized with a DDT for a two count.

Joe was then tagged in and he beatdown Cena in the corner. Joe then hit Cena with a headbutt and then knocked him to the mat with a right hand. Joe mocked the crowd and tagged in The Miz. The Miz climbed to the top rope and clobbered Cena on the head for a two count. The Miz once again got distracted by the crowd and posed in the ring. Miz charged at Cena but John got out of the way and Miz leaped into the second turnbuckle.

Reigns was finally tagged in and Joe was tagged back in as well. Roman hit Joe with a Clothesline and then punched The Miz off the ring apron. Reigns beatdown Joe in the corner and then knocked Joe to the canvas with a kick to the face. Reigns went for the Superman Punch but Joe countered it into an Uranage for a two count.

Miz got back in the match and leaned on Reigns while his throat was up against the ropes. The Miz threw Reigns out of the ring and Bo Dallas leveled him with a Clothesline as the referee was distracted. Miz brought Reigns back into the ring and went for the cover but Roman kicked out at two. Miz hit a series of Yes Kicks on Reigns in the middle of the ring. Miz went for a kick again but Reigns lifted him up and slammed him to the mat.

Samoa Joe was tagged back in and he prevented Reigns from getting to the corner to tag in Cena. Joe chopped Reigns in the back of the head a couple of times and then applied a submission hold. Reigns broke free but Joe sent him to the corner and then connected with a kick to the head for a two count.

The Miz got back into the match and took his sweet time walking over to Roman Reigns on the ground. Miz punched Reigns in the face and then angrily stared at the crowd. The Miz once again threw Reigns out of the ring. Reigns hit Axel with a Drive By and then leveled Dallas with a Superman Punch outside the ring. Reigns got on the ring apron and Miz charged at him and missed and tumbled to the floor. Reigns then tagged in Cena and Cena went for the Five Knuckle Shuffle on Miz but Samoa Joe got in the way.

Joe then locked in the Coquina Clutch on Cena. Reigns tried to hit Joe with a Superman Punch but Joe ducked and Reigns struck Cena by accident. Reigns was then knocked out of the ring and Joe went for a Suicide Dive but Reigns punched him in the face and both Superstars fell to the floor outside the ring. Back in the ring, Miz went for a Skull Crushing Finale on Cena but Cena countered it into an Attitude Adjustment for the pinfall victory.

Winners: John Cena & Roman Reigns

Reaction: Tonight’s main-event was decent. I’m intrigued by a match between Roman Reigns and John Cena in the future. The altercation between Braun Strowman and Lesnar was the highlight of tonight’s episode of RAW. WWE did announce later in the night on their website that Big Cass did suffer an injury during his match against Enzo Amore. Even though his feud with Enzo and Big Show has been terrible, that is still potentially a big loss as WWE was trying to build him up. Hopefully the injury doesn’t turn out to be serious but it didn’t look good at all. Overall, tonight’s RAW was entertaining. The crowd added a lot to this week’s episode of RAW.

WWE Confirms Big Cass Injury On RAW

WWE has confirmed Big Cass sustained a knee injury during his Brooklyn Street Fight with Enzo Amore on RAW.

During a spot that involved Cass going over the top rope after missing a kick to Enzo, the big man landed badly. It was ugly and Cass was favoring the other leg when he returned to the ring. When it became clear he couldn’t continue, the match was called off and Enzo Amore was declared the winner. Enzo gloated afterwards:

WWE issued a statement on Cass’ condition, stating that Cass injured his left knee and will undergo an MRI on Tuesday to determine the extent of the injury:

“Big Cass suffered an injury to his left knee during the Brooklyn Street Fight against Enzo Amore on Raw, WWE.com can confirm. The injury occurred after Amore dodged a big boot by pulling down the top rope, sending Cass to the floor in the process.

“It’s hard to tell what the extent of the injury is, but we’re going to send him to get an MRI tomorrow and figure that out,” said WWE ringside physician Dr. Chris Robinson.

Strowman delivered more punishment to Lesnar than anybody at SummerSlam and poses the biggest threat to his Universal title reign. Lesnar ultimately pinned Roman Reigns to retain his title on Sunday night, but the Beast will have nowhere to hide in less than five weeks.

WWE No Mercy takes place on Sunday night, September 24th from Los Angeles, CA at the STAPLES Center.

Seth Rollins Reveals If He Believes Shield Reunion Would Help Roman Reigns Get More Fan Acceptance

Prior to his SummerSlam match-up in which he and ex-Shield teammate Dean Ambrose defeated Sheamus and Cesaro to become the new RAW Tag Team Champions, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was interviewed by RauteMusik to talk about a possible full Shield reunion between himself, Ambrose, and Roman Reigns. Since going solo, Reigns has received mixed reactions from WWE crowds, the majority of which see him get booed out of the building.

When asked if he believes a Shield reunion would help Reigns get more fan acceptance, here’s what “The Architect” had to say:

“I don’t know. Roman works hard, every single day, busting his butt, having great matches, being a very entertaining character on television, and he seems to be doing just fine for himself. I don’t think that associating me and Ambrose with him is gonna- the man has main evented three WrestleManias in a row, you know what I mean? What help does he need from us?”

Bayley Offers Update On Injured Shoulder

Former WWE RAW Women’s Champion Bayley made an appearance at the WWE 2K18 launch party in New York City this past weekend and was interviewed by RauteMusik. During the interview, Bayley offered an update on her injury and also talked about the possibility of turning heel soon. Here’s what she had to say:

Her shoulder injury:

“I just had my second day of physical therapy [last Friday], which was really painful,” Bayley said. “Luckily, I lost my sling, so I’m kind of seeing how it feels without having it. This rock tape really helps, but as you can see it’s really healing up, my physical therapist is doing a lot of stretching with me and kind of breaking down the tissue around it. So, I’m just starting to be able to move it a little bit, but I mean we have to get strength back and have to be able to be in the ring. I get checked in another month or so.”

Turning heel soon:

“I can,” Bayley said. “You never know. [If] you make me mad… I have a bad side you know, I get mad all the time. I could bring it out.”

Nikki Bella Reportedly Joining “Dancing with the Stars”

According to a report by People, Nikki Bella has been cast in the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars.

A source tells People that Nikki and Drew Scott of the HGTV series Property Brothers have both signed onto compete on the upcoming season of ABC’s long-running reality dance competition series.

Season 25 of Dancing with the Stars premieres opposite Raw on Monday, Sept. 18.

Nikki would be the third wrestler to compete on Dancing with the Stars, following Stacy Keibler and Chris Jericho.

In early 2006, Keibler, competed in the second season of the show, alongside her dance partner, Tony Dovolani. Keibler was eliminated in the final episode, coming in third to NFL legend Jerry Rice, who placed second in the final round of the competition, and singer Drew Lachey, the winner of the season. Two of the judges, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman, felt Keibler should have at least placed second. Oddsmakers had also considered her the favorite to win the competition.

Jericho competed on season 12 in spring 2011, alongside Cheryl Burke. He was the fifth contestant eliminated on the show.

Roman Reigns Explains Why He Isn’t Involved In The Current Shield Reunion Angle

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns did an interview on ESPN Sportscenter this morning (Mon. August 21, 2017) to promote tonight’s Monday Night RAW from the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York. Reigns discussed the mini-Shield reunion going on between newly-crowned RAW Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, why he isn’t involved, and if he’d like to be down the line. Here are the highlights:

Possible Shield reunion:

“The main thing for me right now, I’ve been in that Universal title picture,” Reigns said. “You can ask Seth or Dean, if they were able to be in that same situation, that’s what you go for. You want to have that top title, and that’s definitely it.

“I’m super proud of those guys, they exemplified what makes the Shield so special [at SummerSlam]. The teamwork and just that brotherhood of just going out there and getting it done – not for yourself, but for the man next to you. It really showed why when we came in, why we were so special.”

Reigns hoping a full reunion happens soon:

“Hopefully in the near future maybe,” Reigns said of a full Shield reunion. “Not only to prolong my career maybe, because it does take it out of you running into those meatballs [Brock Lesnar, Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe] for 30 minutes at a time, but there’s just some kind of magic when the three of us get together and we’re just moving on all cylinders. It always seems to be a great time for the crowd.”

Baron Corbin Responds To Speculation That He’s Being Buried

SmackDown Live star Baron Corbin isn’t shying away from speculation that he’s in the WWE dog house.

After winning a Money in the Bank briefcase back in June, Corbin has been making headlines in recent weeks for his Twitter tirades. At one point, he got into it with Mojo Rawley online, with Rawley getting the final word in that exchange.

Corbin later talked trash to Dave Meltzer for being critical of him, arguing that Meltzer had no right to judge his work since Meltzer never wrestled a match. That argument doesn’t hold a lot of water, but the real damage was done when Corbin was responding to fans who defended Meltzer.

Twitter user @GetUpMike (Mike Gilbert) told Corbin that Dave Meltzer is more respected in wrestling than he’ll ever be. Corbin called the guy a loser, but Gilbert revealed that he’s a 14 year veteran of the US Airforce and served two tours of Afghanistan. Whoops.

Last week, Baron Corbin cashed in his MITB contract only to lose the impromptu title match to Jinder Mahal in one of the shortest matches in WWE history. At SummerSlam, Corbin decisively to John Cena in a match that left a lot of people with the impression that the company is souring on him and he’s being buried.

On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio reviewing SummerSlam, Dave Meltzer made it clear: “He’s definitely being punished.” Losing a match, especially to John Cena, is not by itself an ominous sign. But Cena openly mocked Corbin during the match and it was clear by the booking that Corbin was not being protected. Meltzer speculated that he wouldn’t be surprised to see former NXT Champion Bobby Roode get called up to SmackDown and take Corbin’s spot as one of the top heels on the brand.

Baron Corbin tweeted the following on Monday noon, letting the people talking about him know that their opinions don’t matter.
