“Bullet Club Invades RAW” (Being The Elite Ep. 73)

As we reported on Monday night, The Bullet Club staged a DX-style invasion of WWE RAW.

Cody and Brandi Rhodes, The Young Bucks, Adam Page and Marty Scurll were in town for a local appearance and took a stretch limo to the Citizens Business Bank Arena in  Ontario, California.

Cameras were rolling and the footage was shot for the latest episode of the Club’s popular Being The Elite Youtube series. As it turns out, they weren’t just there to cause a ruckus. The Bullet Club was there to capture a certain ‘WWE stooge.’

The guys have had enough! It’s time to invade RAW & capture the WWE Stooge!

Matt Hardy: “Everything Is About To Change”

On Monday, WWE confirmed that Jeff Hardy has a torn rotator cuff and will be undergoing surgery next Tuesday. The recovery period will depend on the severity of the injury and the post-op physical therapy, but the Charismatic Enigma will be out of action through the end of 2017.

Jeff told WWE.com that he would consider appearing on WWE television in a non-physical capacity while he rehabilitates the shoulder, but the Hardy Boyz tag team is currently on hold and Matt Hardy is already plotting his next move.

Addressing the news of Brother Nero’s condition, Matt declared on Twitter that “everything is about to change” and he must #GetWOKE.

For months now, Matt has been teasing that we’ll be seeing his Broken Matt persona in WWE. While the legal status of the ‘Broken Universe’ trademarks are still in question, this ‘twist of fate’ paves the way for Matt to reestablish himself as a singles competitor and present a new side of himself to the WWE Universe. Some phrases might be legally off limits for now, but the madness inside of him cannot be contained much longer.

Earlier this month, Matt posted a Youtube video channeling is delightfully disturbed alter ego. Matt urged fans to, “Shower me with your adoration. Engulf me with your distain. Feed me your emotion. Feed me your energy. Watch me metabolize it and turn it into power. Feed me your energy.”

Backstage Update On The Finish Of No Mercy Main Event

The finish of the match between Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman at No Mercy was surprising to many as people did not expect Strowman to be pinned after just one F5.

The way WWE had built The Monster Among Men, fans believed that he would pull some more offense and some even believed that he could end up winning the title. So when he lost, it made them wonder if the company changed the original plans for this match.

Though according to reports from F4Wonline.com, the finish wasn’t changed and the match between Strowman and Lesnar went as the Officials had originally planned.

Furthermore, it’s being said that despite the rising popularity of the former Wyatt Family Member, his match with Brock was always seen as just a stop in The Beast’s road to WrestleMania.

The current plans for Lesnar are still to keep the Universal title on him till WrestleMania 34 so he could drop it to Roman Reigns at the Show Of Shows next year.

It’s worth mentioning here that Braun Strowman was originally supposed to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at the Great Balls Of Fire PPV earlier this year.

These plans were nixed after Strowman suffered a legit elbow injury and Samoa Joe ended up facing the Universal Champion at the event instead.

News On Brock Lesnar’s Next Possible Opponent

While it hasn’t been very long since Brock Lesnar overcame the challenge of Braun Strowman and retained his Universal Championship at No Mercy, people have already started speculating about his next opponent.

During the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about the Beast and revealed the name who could possibly be next person to challenge for the Universal Championship.

Dave mentioned that the first ever Universal Champion Finn Balor may finally get his rematch for the title he never lost against Brock at Survivor Series or Royal Rumble PPV.

According to him, WWE originally had plans for both Seth Rollins and Finn Balor to challenge for the title before WrestleMania 34. Since Rollins is busy in a storyline with Dean Ambrose, the most likely person next in line for a shot at the Universal title is Balor.

Though it’s worth mentioning here that Lesnar is expected to hold the belt for a while and drop it to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34 next year.

So even if Finn does end up being the next opponent of Brock Lesnar, he is not expected to win the title and instead, he will most likely be just another stop on Lesnar’s road to WrestleMania, much like Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman.

Roman Reigns To Face The Miz For The IC Title Next Week On RAW

Roman Reigns was a guest on Miz TV to kick off this week’s episode of RAW. The Miz and Reigns started trading insults throughout the segment. The Miz said that The Miztourage could defeat The Shield. Roman Reigns wound up challenging The Miz to a fight, but The Miz got out of the ring and said that he wanted no part of it. RAW GM Kurt Angle came down to the entrance ramp and announced that The Miz will face Roman Reigns in a match later on RAW.

Reigns emerged victorious in that match, despite Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas constantly interfering from ringside. After the match, The Miz, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel beatdown Roman Reigns. The Miz planted Reigns with the Skull Crushing Finale and went to leave but ultimately decided that wasn’t enough. The Miz came back down to the ring and hit another Skull Crushing Finale, but this time he slammed Reigns face-first into a steel chair. The Miz, Dallas an Axel then posed like The Shield while standing over Reigns.

It was announced towards the end of RAW that Roman Reigns will face The Miz next week for the Intercontinental Championship.

WWE RAW Recap & Reaction (9/25)

Miz TV w/ Roman Reigns

The Miz and The Miztourage started off RAW in the ring. The Miz guaranteed that his unborn baby will not be a loser like Kurt Angle’s son. Miz then discussed Roman Reigns’ historic victory over John Cena last night at No Mercy. Roman Reigns then came down to the ring and sat down next to The Miz.

The Miz apologized for the crowd booing Reigns and Roman interrupted and said that he likes when the crowd is loud. The Miz asked Reigns about Cena’s comments last night on RAW Talk where he said that the match was a passing of the torch moment. Reigns called The Miz longwinded but said that he now respects John Cena. Roman stated that Cena held the fort down for 15 years and that there is not another guy that could do that.

Reigns called last night’s victory the biggest win of his career. Reigns added that he really doesn’t understand why he is sitting here with an idiot like The Miz. Miz got pissed off and bragged about his victory over Jason Jordan last night, leaving out the fact that The Miztourage helped him retain the Intercontinental Championship. Miz called Jordan a loser and Reigns interrupted. Roman said that he wouldn’t have won without The Miztourage’s interference and then he shouted at Dallas and Axel to go get him a beer. Miz said that Miz TV is a classy program and they will not be drinking beer on the set.

Miz brought up Reigns being in The Shield. The Miz claimed that if The Miztourage ever faced The Shield, they would defeat them. Reigns started laughing and said that The Shield would whip their ass. Reigns added that Ambrose and Rollins are doing their own thing and he is going after the Universal Championship. The Miz once again got pissed off and said that he was the man to beat and the IC title was the belt to have. Roman Reigns said “alright, let’s do it” and asked the crowd if they wanted to see him beat up The Miz tonight and they cheered.

The Miz then said that he has a pregnant wife at home who needs him very much. The Miz hopped out of the ring and waved goodbye and starting retreating up the entrance ramp. RAW GM Kurt Angle came down to the entrance and announced a couple of matches for tonight. Roman Reigns will face The Miz and Matt Hardy & Jason Jordan will face The Miztourage next.

Matt Hardy & Jason Jordan vs The Miztourage

Jordan wrestled Bo Dallas to the mat to start off the match. Curtis Axel was then tagged and Jordan planted him with a Northern Lights Suplex for a one count. Matt Hardy entered the match and knocked Axel to the canvas. Matt connected with a series of Leg Drops and followed it up with a Tornado DDT. Bo Dallas got into the ring but was greeted with a Dropkick from Jason Jordan as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Miztourage were in control of the match. Axel slammed Jason Jordan to the canvas and then tagged in Bo Dallas. Bo hit a knee to Jordan’s face and then stomped on him in the corner. Bo bounced Jason’s head off the turnbuckle a couple of times and then tagged in Axel. Curtis connected with a knee to Jordan’s face for a two count.

Jordan finally was able to tag in Matt Hardy. Matt bounced Bo’s head off the turnbuckle and then planted him with a Bulldog for a two count. Matt hopped up to the second rope and hit an elbow to the back of Bo’s head. Matt followed it up with a Neckbreaker. Bo went for a Clothesline but Matt countered it into a Side Effect. Axel and Jordan hopped into the ring and started battling. Jordan hit a Spear onto Bo and Alex in the corner. Matt then hit Bo Dallas with the Twist of Fate for the pinfall victory.

Winners: Matt Hardy & Jason Jordan

Reaction: There have been rumors about WWE reuniting The Shield for next month’s TLC PPV and those appear to be true as The Shield was brought up during Miz TV tonight. The announcers were hinting at Jason Jordan and Matt Hardy becoming a team going forward while Jeff Hardy is injured. I really don’t want to see that at all. I figured that now would be the perfect time to give Matt Hardy a single’s run, given that Jeff is going to be out for a substantial amount of time. I also thought that Jordan would want revenge on The Miz for screwing him out of the Intercontinental Championship last night.

Elias sat on a stool in the ring while the spotlight was upon him. He strummed his guitar and then introduced himself. Elias asked the crowd “who wants to walk with Elias?” and then called the crowd a bunch of nobodies. Elias bragged about defeating Apollo Crews last night at No Mercy and said that tonight would be the encore.

Elias then sang “Apollo is a loser, that all he will ever be. Titus Worldwide is going to fail and that is clear for all the world to see. I arrived in this town and realized that it is an awful place. Just like last night, tonight I am going to wipe the smile of Crews’ face.” Apollo Crews then interrupted and made his way down to the ring with Titus O’Neil by his side.

Apollo Crews vs Titus O’Neil

Elias and Crews locked up and Crews shoved Elias to the corner. Crews dragged Elias to the mat and applied a headlock. Elias battled to his feet and chopped Crews across his chest. Elias charged at Crews but Apollo flipped out of the way and connected with a Dropkick. Crews kicked Elias in the side of the head and then knocked him out of the ring. Crews then leaped onto him outside the ring as some of the crowd chanted “Apollo” for a moment.

Outside the ring, Elias kicked Titus in the leg while he was posing with Crews. Apollo became distracted for a moment and Elias took advantage. Elias then hit the Drift Away on Crews in the ring for the victory. After the match, Titus beatdown Elias briefly before Elias rolled out of the ring and retreated up the entrance ramp.

Winner: Elias

Finn Balor was interviewed backstage about his victory over Bray Wyatt last night at No Mercy. Balor thanked Wyatt for doubting him as a man and pushing him to his limits. Balor stated that he hopes he feels a sense of humility now not just for him, but for Goldust and all the other people he has victimized in the past. Balor said that he will now focus on recapturing the Universal Championship.

Curt Hawkins came down to the ring and said that he was sick of being known as the guy with the 118 losing streak. Hawkins asked who wanted to make history tonight and Braun Strowman stormed down to the ring. Hawkins ran away through the crowd but Braun sprinted after him. Strowman caught him and Chokeslammed Hawkins through a table. Strowman threw Hawkins onto the entrance ramp and then connected with a Running Powerslam through the screen on the entrance ramp.

Strowman stormed back down to the ring and demanded a microphone. Braun said that he is on a path of destruction after last night and demanded that someone come down to the ring to give him a real fight. Dean Ambrose answered the challenge and made his way down the entrance ramp as RAW went to a commercial break.

Dean Ambrose vs Braun Strowman

Strowman started off the match in control and slammed Ambrose into the turnbuckle. Ambrose slapped Strowman and Braun knocked him to the mat and stomped on him. Ambrose tried to leap onto Strowman but Braun caught him. Ambrose then applied the Sleeper Hold but Braun broke it up by slamming him into the turnbuckle. Strowman connected with a Splash and flexed in the ring.

Braun headbutted Ambrose and Dean stumbled around for a bit before falling to the canvas. Ambrose battled back and connected with a flurry of punches. Ambrose charged at Strowman but Braun stood tall and Dean bounced off him and fell out of the ring. Braun followed him outside and slammed Ambrose into the barricade. Dean poked Braun in the eye and then shoved Strowman into the ring post.

The action returned to the ring and Ambrose hit Braun with a a few right hands. Strowman threw Ambrose across the ring and charged at him beat Dean pulled down the bottom rope and Strowman fell to the floor outside the ring. Ambrose went for a Suicide Dive but Braun caught. Dean quickly hit a Tornado DDT and then got back into the ring. Braun got back in the ring at the count of eight.

Dean connected with a Dropkick and went for the cover but Braun kicked out at two. Braun once again charged at Ambrose and missed again. Strowman slammed into the ring post and Ambrose tried to leap onto him off the top rope. Strowman caught Ambrose and planted him with the Running Powerslam for the victory.

Winner: Braun Strowman

Reaction: This match was entertaining. I hope Braun Strowman doesn’t lose too much of his momentum after being defeated by Brock Lesnar last night. WWE needs to find a new feud for him that the audience can get excited about.

Enzo Amore interrupted Kurt Angle backstage as he was telling a referee to keep his eyes on The Miztourage tonight in The Miz and Roman Reigns match. Enzo said that he wanted to have a celebration tonight. Angle responded that Enzo’s victory was a little cheap and he didn’t deserve a celebration. Enzo persisted and Angle finally agreed to let it happen. Angle then asked if he wanted some advice about being a champion. Enzo replied “nah I’m good” and then walked away as Kurt Angle had a bewildered look on his face.

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose had a conversation backstage. Rollins told Ambrose to let him know next time that he wants to challenge someone like Braun Strowman. Ambrose called Rollins predictable. Rollins denied that he was predictable and said that he was going to challenge Braun Strowman to a match next week.

RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss came down to the ring to cut a promo. Alexa said that she has always considered the WWE Universe her friends and that she has to be honest with her friends. Bliss said that she was very disappointed with each and every one of them and bragged about beating Bayley, Sasha Banks, Emma and Nia Jax last night.

Bliss was expecting to see a bunch of congratulatory messages on Twitter, but instead it was all gossip and people excited for Asuka’s debut at TLC. Bliss scolded the WWE Universe for not appreciating that they are in a presence of a goddess right now. Mickie James interrupted and came down to the ring. Mickie said that Alexa had a great night last night and said that she wasn’t a part of that match.

Mickie stated that Alexa didn’t beat her and brought up Alexa Bliss’ comments on RAW Talk. Mickie asked Alexa to repeat what she said on RAW Talk. Bliss said that Mickie was one of her favorites when she was a little girl and that she was one of her top 8 friends on Myspace. Bliss said that Mickie still has a couple of fans that say Mickie has still got it. Alexa said that she doesn’t want to see Mickie break a hip in the ring.

Mickie called Alexa a little girl and said that she is a six time Women’s Champion. Mickie stated that she has broken down barriers in WWE before before Alexa was even wearing a training bra. Mickie once again demanded that Alexa repeat what she said on RAW Talk last night. Alexa didn’t want to and Mickie called her a coward. Alexa Bliss then called Mickie an “old lady”. Mickie slapped Alexa in the face and kicked her out of the ring.

Reaction: Alexa Bliss is an expert at reacting to insults. Mickie James has barely been featured on RAW, so it is a bit strange that she is all of the sudden in a feud with the RAW Women’s Champion.

Sheamus vs Seth Rollins

Sheamus charged at Rollins to start off the match but Seth got out of the way. Sheamus slammed into the ring post and fell out of the ring. Rollins then hit a Suicide Dive and mocked Cesaro about his teeth. The action returned to the ring and Sheamus connected with an Irish Curse. Sheamus hit a Suplex and followed it up with a knee to the face off the second rope for a two count. Sheamus planted Seth with a Powerbomb for a two count. Sheamus applied the Cloverleaf submission in the middle of the ring.

Rollins grabbed the bottom rope to break the hold. Sheamus charged at Rollins but Seth ducked and Sheamus fell out of the ring. Sheamus and Rollins traded shots on the ring apron. Sheamus got the upper-hand and booted Seth in the head for a two count. Sheamus geared up for the Brogue Kick but Rollins ducked under it. Sheamus knocked Seth to the mat and then leaped off the top rope. Rollins connected with a sloppy-looking Superkick and then hit the knee (Kings Landing) to Sheamus’ head for the win.

Winner: Seth Rollins

Finn Balor was shown backstage and he stumbled upon Goldust. Goldust was pissed off that Finn Balor called him a victim earlier in the night and said that he didn’t ask for Finn’s help. Balor apologized and said that he didn’t mean to offend Goldust. Goldust said that he was sorry and put out his hand for a fist-bump. Goldust then attacked Balor and beat him down backstage.

The Miz vs Roman Reigns

The Miz said that he will walk away and extend his hand for a handshake with Reigns. Roman shook his hand and The Miz went to walk away but Reigns didn’t let go. Roman punched The Miz in the face and Miz rolled out of the ring to regroup with The Miztourage. Roman Reigns chuckled in the ring as The Miz took forever to get back in the ring. Roman got sick of waiting and chased Miz around the ring.

Reigns finally brought Miz back in the ring and applied a Chin Lock. The Miz broke free but Reigns leveled him with a shoulder tackle. Bo Dallas grabbed Reigns’ hair on the ring apron and then Miz capitalized by booting him in the face. Miz then applied a Chin Lock in the middle of the ring. Miz knocked Reigns out of the ring and Bo & Axel slammed him into the barricade while the referee wasn’t looking. The Miz brought Reigns back into the ring and went for the cover but Roman kicked out.

The Miz connected with a couple of Dropkicks in the corner. Miz went for a third but Reigns caught him and hit a Samoan Drop for a two count. Reigns hit a Clothesline and then beatdown Miz in the corner. Roman followed it up with a boot to the face and then geared up in the corner. Axel distracted Reigns and Miz hit a Clothesline. Miz hit a series of “It Kicks” but was caught by Reigns. Miz broke free but Reigns leveled him with a Superman Punch.

Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel hopped up on the ring apron and Reigns punched them both in the face. The Miz rolled out of the ring and Reigns chased him around the ring. Reigns hit the Drive By onto both Bo and Axel. Back in the ring, The Miz connected with a DDT and went for the cover but Reigns kicked out at the last second. Miz went for the Skull Crushing Finale but Reigns escaped and connected with the Spear for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel attacked Roman Reigns as The Miz shouted “stay on him”. The Miztourage held up Reigns but Roman broke free and knocked them both out of the ring. Reigns then hit the Superman Punch on The Miz. Reigns then taunted The Miz and was about to Powerbomb him but Dallas and Axel entered the ring with chairs. The Miztourage stuck Reigns with a chair several times. The Miz then planted Reigns with the Skull Crushing Finale.

The Miz and The Miztourage exited the ring but decided they weren’t done and came back down to the ring. The Miz then hit Reigns with a Skull Crushing Finale on the steel chair. The Miz hit Roman with the chair one more time and then stood over him. The Miz and The Miztourage then mocked the Shield fist-bump while standing over Reigns.

Winner: Roman Reigns

Reaction: I’m all for a Shield reunion right now. Brock Lesnar is the Universal Champion and we probably won’t see him again for some time. It will interesting to see how this plays out over the next few weeks. I’d like to see the Intercontinental Championship and the RAW Tag Team Championships defended at WWE TLC. As of now, those titles belong to Superstars in this potential match next month.

Goldust vs Finn Balor

Finn attacked Goldust right away and threw him out of the ring. Balor followed him out there and Dropkicked him into the barricade. Balor then thew Goldust into the barricade a couple of times. The action returned to the ring and Goldust connected with a kick to the midsection. Goldust then shoved Balor into the ring post and Balor fell to the floor outside the ring. Goldust thew Balor into the barricade as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Goldust connected with a kick to Balor’s chest and then planted him with a Spinebuster for a two count. Finn went for a Suplex but was in too much pain to deliver the move. Balor instead connected with a kick and proceeded to stomp on Goldust. Finn hit the Slingblade, Dropkick in the corner and the Coupe de Grace for the pinfall victory.

After the match, the lights went out and “he’s got the whole world in his hands” played in the arena.

Winner: Finn Balor

Reaction: I was worried that Balor was going to actually have a feud with Goldust, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. Instead, the feud between Balor and Wyatt looks to be continuing for some ridiculous reason. Balor already won the feud. He beat him as The Demon King and as Finn Balor. I was hoping that this feud was over at SummerSlam. It is getting to the point that it has become comical that it is still going on.

Bayley was shown just randomly holding her shoulder backstage. Sasha Banks showed up and Bayley asked her if she got her text. Banks said that she was this close to getting her championship back but it was taken away. Banks stated that they need to focus on their tag match tonight. Bayley vowed to make Nia Jax feel pain tonight.

Reaction: I don’t know what the hell has happened to Bayley since she arrived on the main roster. She said she wanted to get revenge on Nia Jax tonight for injuring her. That makes sense and should make for an interesting angle. Unfortunately, Bayley said the lines as if she was ordering her coffee in the morning. There was no intensity behind it at all. She also looked at her shoulder like a robot several times during the segment. I don’t get it.

Enzo confronted Kurt Angle backstage and demanded a “no-contact clause” during his championship celebration later tonight so Neville couldn’t attack him. Angle agreed and called Amore annoying.

Nia Jax & Emma vs Bayley & Sasha Banks

Nia targetted her attack on Bayley’s shoulder right when the match started. Nia then threw Bayley into Sasha on the ring apron and both Superstars fell to the floor outside the ring. When RAW returned, Bayley was stuck in the ring as Nia and Emma took turns beating the hell out of her. Bayley battled out of the corner and connected with a kick to Emma. Bayley slowly tried to make her way across the ring to tag in Sasha.

Bayley knocked Emma into Nia Jax and leaped across the ring to tag in Banks. Sasha hit Double Knees to Emma in the corner for a two count. Nia got into the ring and threw Bayley out of the ring. Sasha Dropkicked Nia out of the ring. Bayley went for a Crossbody but Nia caught her. Bayley escaped and Sasha hit a Crossbody off the ring apron. Bayley then pushed Nia into the steel post.

Back in the ring, Bayley tagged herself in and Sasha connected with a knee. Bayley then hit the Bayley to Belly on Emma for the victory.

Winners: Bayley & Sasha Banks

Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore came down to the ring for his championship celebration. Enzo said that “it was all a dream and that dream became a reality. Pinch yourselves because Enzo Amore is your new Cruiserweight Champion”. Enzo described his morning waking up in his California king bed. Enzo said that he woke up next to most beautiful women in the world and pointed to his Cruiserweight Championship.

Enzo said that his haters are jealous and held up the Cruiserweight Championship. Enzo made fun of Big Cass being injured and said that he was the one holding Big Cass up during there time as a tag team. Enzo said that the “you can’t wrestle” chants were once shouted at the likes of The Rock and that he has mainstream appeal.

Enzo then revealed a jersey in a frame and said that his jersey belongs in the rafters. Enzo said that he made 205 Live relevant and the rest of the 205 Live roster came down tot he entrance ramp and stared at Amore. Enzo called them haters and said that he could barely see Rich Swann because he was so small.

Amore said that Swann danced his way to a title and then danced his way back to being irrelevant. Enzo said that Cedric Alexander is the man that charisma forgot. Enzo poked fun at Gran Metalik’s physique and said that with a gut like that there is no way he is under 205.

Neville came down to the entrance ramp with a very intense look on his face. Enzo said that the Cruiserweight Championship is on the shoulder’s of a real man. Enzo then called Neville’s ears “satellite discs” and continued to mock Neville. Enzo then danced around in the ring. Neville said that Enzo was right and that the truth is brutal. Neville said that Enzo is such an unbearable, toxic little individual that you have alienated everyone you have ever come in contact with.

Neville added that Enzo debuted on RAW to much fan fair but was then dumped onto 205 Live’s doorstep. Enzo said that he is going to get eyes on 205 Live and make the roster stars. Neville said that Enzo has done nothing but make a joke out of 205 Live, the Cruiserweight Division and the Cruiserweight Championship. Neville said that he was here to end Amore on behalf of the Cruiserweight division.

Enzo said that he has the no-contact clause and that if Neville attacks him he will never get a shot at the title again. Enzo said that the Cruiserweight Championship is in the main-event of RAW and Neville never sniffed the third hour of RAW. Enzo boasted about being a star and bragged about how much merchandise he sells.

Neville attacked Enzo even though Amore had the no-contact clause. Neville slammed Amore into the barricade a couple of times. Enzo tried to escape up the entrance ramp but the 205 Live roster prevented him from leaving. Neville brought Enzo back into the ring and shoved the no-contact clause in Enzo’s mouth. Neville then booted Enzo in the face and the crowd cheered. Neville climbed to the top rope and hit the Red Arrow.

Reaction: Enzo did a solid job here getting everyone to hate him. I still don’t think too many people are going to tune into 205 Live to watch this storyline develop. I really hope that Amore doesn’t have the Cruiserweight Championship for too long. I’m not sure how many overly long Enzo Amore promos I can listen to. Overall, RAW wasn’t good at all tonight in my opinion. The Miz and Roman Reigns segments were entertaining and that storyline could be interesting leading up to TLC. Ambrose and Strowman had a decent match. The rest of the show was boring.

WWE RAW Results & Live Discussion (9/25)

The September 25th edition of WWE RAW took place at the Citizens Bank Business Arena in Ontario, CA.

– Tonight’s broadcast kicks off with The Miz, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel in the ring for Miz TV. The Miz first gloats about his victory at No Mercy 2017 last night, and then he welcomes his guest who also won at the pay-per-view last night: Roman Reigns. Reigns comes down to the ring and sits down with The Miz. Miz asks about Cena, and Reigns says he respects Cena now. Reigns says Cena has been holding down the fort for 15 years and no other top guys in wrestling can say that. Reigns says last night was his biggest win ever, and he’s still sore and tired so he’s not sure why he’s sitting here talking to Miz. Miz says he is the one who is truly the guy, because he’s the one in the ring with a title belt. Miz says Jason Jordan is a loser, but Reigns disagrees and says if not for Axel and Dallas helping him, there is no way Miz could beat Jordan. The Miz says if he started the Miztourage five years ago nobody would remember The Shield. Miz asks what would happen if the Miztourage faced the Shield, and Reigns says the Shield would beat their asses. Reigns says his sights are set on the Universal Championship, and Miz takes offense to Reigns bringing up another champion in front of him. Miz says he’s the only one in the ring with a belt and he should be respected. Reigns says he’ll fight Miz right here and now, but Miz says he’s not dressed to wrestle. Miz says he also has a pregnant wife at home who needs him, so they have to leave. Before The Miz can make it to the back, Kurt Angle interrupts and says to tell Maryse he’s going to be late tonight, because the Miz is going to face Reigns tonight. Angle says Dallas and Axel can stay in the ring, because they have to face Matt Hardy and Jason Jordan right now!

Jason Jordan & Matt Hardy def. Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel: Jeff Hardy is at ringside in Matt’s corner. Jordan starts off against Dallas and immediately drops him with a suplex. Jordan delivers some elbows to Dallas, then Axel tags in and Jordan slams him into the corner. Jordan follows up with a Northern Lights suplex on Axel. Dallas runs in, but Matt and Jason clean house and dump both Miztourage members outside. Jordan throws Dallas into the fan barricade, but then Axel comes flying off the apron with a clothesline to Jordan at ringside. Back in the ring, Axel and Dallas double team Jordan briefly to take control of the match. Matt and Jordan high five after the match, and Jeff climbs in to celebrate with them.

– We go to the broadcast table where Corey Graves introduces a video package highlighting Brock Lesnar’s win over Braun Strowman at No Mercy last night.

– Elias is in the ring for a song about Apollo Crews being a loser, and says Titus Worldwide will fail. Elias sings that this town is an awful place, and then he’s interrupted by Crews’ entrance.

Elias def. Apollo Crews: Titus is at ringside in Apollo’s corner. Collar and elbow tie-up to start. Crews backs Elias into the corner and Elias answers with an elbow to the face. They trade headlocks until Crews backflips away from Elias then hits Elias with a dropkick. Crews fires up and delivers a kick to the head of Elias that sends him outside. A “certified G” jersey is in a glass case in the ring. Enzo says he did what no other wrestler could do, he made 205 Live relevant. Neville says if it were up to him, he would have left Enzo out in the cold to rot, but the people behind him insisted he join the show. Neville says Enzo trashes them all to repay them, but Enzo says he’s getting eyes on 205 Live to make them all stars. Neville says Enzo hasn’t done that, and has made a joke out of the cruiserweight division. Neville says on behalf of the entire cruiserweight division, he’s here to end him. Enzo says he has a clause where if Neville touches him he’ll never get another Title shot. Enzo calls Neville a “Golem,” and says the only reason Neville is in the main event segment of RAW is because Enzo is a real star. Neville stares down at Enzo as RAW goes off the air.

WWE Confirms Jeff Hardy Will Require Surgery For Torn Rotator Cuff

On Monday afternoon, WWE.com confirmed that Jeff Hardy is in fact dealing with a shoulder injury and will require surgery. The procedure is scheduled for next Tuesday, October 3rd.

WWE Senior Ringside Physician Dr. Stephen Daquino said, “Jeff is dealing with a rotator cuff tear right now. It’s a full thickness tear of his supraspinatus tendon and a couple of other areas in the shoulder. He’s going to go for evaluation and probably for surgery next week.”

WWE.com reports that the injury took place on RAW, but the word going around is that Hardy has been working with a bad shoulder since July’s Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view.

He told WWE.com that the situation is depressing. “More than any time in a career, it’s those times that make you go, ‘Wow, I love professional wrestling.’ It sucks that I can’t be involved in [a] match or can’t get in there and do what I normally do because I’m injured, but I just have to get over that, stop worrying about it and look forward and push myself to get repaired and healed and come back better than ever with a brand-new shoulder.”

Jeff said he’s open to the possibility of appearing on WWE television in the months ahead while he recovers from the procedure.

Jim Ross Addresses His Future With WWE, Comments On His New Book

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross recently spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated to promote the release of his new book, Slobberknocker: My Life in Wrestling, that comes out on October 3rd. Here are the highlights:

Possibly returning to commentary on SmackDown Live:

“I really do appreciate when people think of me for an opening. If WWE ever needed me to fill in, I would certainly do it with no reservation. Now, is it something I want to do full-time? Absolutely not. It’s a young man’s game, so let’s continue to develop these new guys.

I’m thrilled to have my WWE jersey back. I’m going to do between 30 and 40 dates a year. I am happy to fulfill my obligations. If I’m needed for more, I’m ready, but I do not want to do 52 weeks a year. WWE is going to use me if the weekly U.K. show comes to fruition, and my hope is that I’m involved in that show with Nigel McGuinness.”

His new book:

“I don’t know that you’ll find anyone in this business with my role. I’ve been fortunate to have been an administrator, a gopher, a driver, a whiskey buyer, VP, EVP, Senior VP, and the voice of a brand. My book is more relatable to the average guy than, say, Brock Lesnar’s book. How many Brock Lesnars are there walking around on the face of the earth? I’m a fan. I had a very humble upbringing, earned everything I got, and learned how challenging it is in the pro wrestling business. I was a long shot to succeed, and I’m still not supposed to be here. When I was born premature, I wasn’t supposed to be there, either. I’m a wrestling fan with a phenomenal journey. The book starts out that way and ends that way. I think people will be motivated by this book, will want to set goals after reading it, and remember that it is the kiss of death to put limits on yourself. It’s a very emotional book, and I am excited to see how people respond.

Vince McMahon doing a foreword for the book:

“Vince was very accommodating, and I appreciated it. I never looked at that as an issue. I wanted him to write the foreword, and I never had any trepidation that he wouldn’t.

There is a letter in the book from Vince that he wrote to me when I was sick with Bell’s Palsy for a second time. I didn’t know it at the time, but I was battling depression. I didn’t want to come out of the house. Vince told me how badly he wanted me to come back to work, and he wrote, “Get the f— back up!” That might seem abrasive to some, but I knew he was being real and coming straight from the heart. Vince’s letter was a handwritten one that he had somebody from the office deliver to my door, and he let me know exactly how much I meant to him. Vince was so great at the “Mr. McMahon” character that some people think he wouldn’t want to help people in real life, and that’s just not true.”

Update On Cesaro’s Gruesome Injury At WWE No Mercy

WWE.com has provided an update on Cesaro’s injury from last night’s No Mercy pay-per-view and even the description of what occurred is enough to make you shudder.

After a slingshot by Dean Ambrose saw Cesaro’s face connect with the corner post, it appeared that the Swiss Cyborg either had his front teeth knocked out or broken.

https://twitter.com/totaldivaseps/status/912123648458313728

According to WWE medical staff member Dr. Daquino, Cesaro’s teeth were actually jammed into his upper jaw and will be fixed by a maxillofacial surgeon later today:

“Cesaro’s teeth were pushed up into his upper jaw by about 3 to 4 mm. The next step is for him to see a maxillofacial surgeon today, most likely removing the teeth and then having some implants made. So hopeful we will have him up and running after Tuesday or so.”

Cesaro also received three stitches in the bottom lip, as seen in this video:

Photos From Donovan Dijak’s NXT Debut

Former ROH wrestler Donovan Dijak made his NXT in-ring debut at Saturday’s live event in Largo, Florida. He lost to Aleister Black in the main event.

The 6-foot-7 Dijak began training at the WWE Performance Center earlier this month. WWE.com touted, “Combining heavy-hitting power with cat-like agility, Dijak’s explosive offense has won him admirers around the world. His ‘Feast Your Eyes’ knee-smash, meanwhile, has downed enough opponents to put Dijak on WWE’s radar with only four years’ experience.”

Dijak tweeted the following about his first NXT match:

Roman Reigns Says He Respects John Cena, Jim Cornette Celebrates 35 Years

– Following his win over John Cena at last night’s (Sun. September 24, 2017) No Mercy pay-per-view (PPV), Roman Reigns took to Twitter to express his newfound respect for “The Leader Of The Cenation,” and declared that he’s still the ‘Top Dog’:

– Jim Cornette took to Twitter to celebrate 35 years since managing his first match: Sherri Martel vs. Velvet McIntyre on Memphis TV back in 1982:

Update On Cody Rhodes Signing With Ring Of Honor

Ring of Honor announced over the weekend that ROH World Champion Cody Rhodes is signing an ‘exclusive’ contract with the promotion. The official contract signing took place at Saturday’s television tapings from Las Vegas.

According to Dave Meltzer,  Cody will continue working for New Japan Pro Wrestling and will be working far fewer dates overall than his current schedule. The belief is that Cody will now be wrestling approximately 100 dates per year, with 65 for Ring of Honor and around 35 for New Japan.

While working for various independent promotions across the world, Cody had been working four shows per week and the travel schedule was becoming difficult for him.

Following Cody’s successful title defense against Minoru Suzuki at Friday’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view, Dalton Castle is rumored to be his challenger.

Mickie James On Asuka’s Main Roster Debut, Bayley Reacts To No Mercy Loss

– As we’ve previously noted, former NXT Women’s Champion Asuka is set to make her main roster debut on the RAW brand at next month’s (Sun. October 22, 2017) Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) pay-per-view (PPV).

While it has not been announced who her opponent will be at the PPV, Asuka’s old NXT foe, Mickie James, took to Twitter to react to the news of her debut:

– The WWE uploaded the following video of Bayley following her loss to RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss at No Mercy last night. Bayley stated that despite the setback she still plans on becoming the new RAW Women’s Champion:

Seth Rollins’ New Finisher May Have A Game Of Thrones Inspired Name

Seth Rollins’ former finisher, the Curbstomp, has since been banned from WWE by Vince McMahon for a few years now, which forced “The Architect” to briefly adopt Triple H’s Pedigree while he was a member of The Authority. After his feud with “The Game” concluded, however, Rollins has been in search of a new finishing maneuver, and has seemed to find it with the Ripcord Knee he has been using for the past few months. While he’s been using the move, however, it hasn’t had an official name on WWE TV.

That all changed last night (Sun. September 24, 2017) at the WWE’s No Mercy pay-per-view (PPV) in Rollins and Dean Ambrose’s RAW Tag Team Title defense over Sheamus and Cesaro. RAW commentator Corey Graves referred to Rollins’ finisher as Kings Landing, which some fans of HBO’s Game Of Thrones series may have caught since it’s the name of one of the show’s major cities. Rollins’ nickname, the King Slayer, is also a play off of Game Of Thrones. WWE fans took to Twitter to react to the new finishing maneuver’s name:

John Cena Explains Why He Never Faced The Undertaker At WrestleMania

John Cena vs. The Undertaker. It’s the WrestleMania dream match that fans have been talking about for years, but will probably never see.

During his recent appearance on Edge & Christian’s E&C Pod of Awesomeness, the 16-time World Champion gave a pretty logical explanation why a match against Undertaker on the ‘grandest stage of them all’ never game together.

“We have to do the best for WrestleMania, period,” Cena explained. “That event is completely [essential to] the fiscal future of the company and every single year, there were plans to do the right thing for WrestleMania and that match was not in the plans. And that’s the best I can say.

“So many guys complain about not being in the last match, or a main event match, or with a certain partner. Man, if it was only work with people you’re comfortable with, I would’ve had another 10,000 matches with [Edge]. Like that’s the easy part. The difficult part as a professional is to take what they need you to do and make it creative.”

Cena is intrigued by the chance to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania, but only if that’s the best possible match-up for him at the time.

“In a perfect world, would I want to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania? That’s every pro wrestler’s dream! That’s any WWE Superstar’s dream, to work pretty much the maestro of WrestleMania at WrestleMania. That’s it! But if our company’s success depends on me doing something else, then my job is to do that something else. And I think the way all that went, I don’t have any regrets on the way any of that went. I think it was completely put together the right way. Would I have loved to do it? Yes! But I show up to work to do work.”

A similar argument line of reasoning could be applied to several other dream matches that never took place in WWE, such as Ric Flair vs. Hulk Hogan or Steve Austin vs. Hogan or Goldberg.

Considering The Undertaker’s sendoff after losing to Roman Reigns back in April at WrestleMania 33, another match for Taker next year in New Orleans seems like a fleeing possibility. If the Dead Man does decide to take one last ride, we can’t think of a better final opponent for him than John Cena.

Paul Heyman Never Wants To See Braun Strowman In The Ring With Brock Lesnar Again

Paul Heyman spoke with Mike Rome backstage at No Mercy after Brock Lesnar’s successful WWE Universal Championship defense against Braun Strowman.

Rome asked how close Strowman was to victory and Heyman admitted the Monster almost conquered the Beast. Brock Lesnar respects no one, not even him, but he respects Braun Strowman’s size, strength, ability and talent.

Heyman says Braun Strowman will be champion one day – but he hopes it’s on SmackDown, because he never wants to see Braun standing on the other side of the ring from him or Brock Lesnar again.

Heyman says Lesnar is not once in a generation or once in a lifetime, he’s once ever. There’s no one that has ever compared to Lesnar in the history of the world and Heyman says Lesnar backs up all the praise that he gets.

Heyman says he proved that he can back it up by taking the biggest and the most deserving Superstar to Suplex City, hitting him with a F5 and pinning him.

WWE Reportedly Planning A Shield Reunion

With his victory over John Cena at Sunday’s No Mercy pay-per-view, Roman Reigns proved that WWE is his yard and he’s able to hang with the best talent WWE has to offer.

From what we’ve been hearing, Roman Reigns has another big match scheduled for next month’s Tables, Ladders & Chairs event – and he won’t be fighting alone.

Many fans have been rooting for a Shield reunion since the faction disbanded three years ago. They will reportedly get their wish very soon, as a Shield reunion is finally in the works.

James McKenna of Pro Wrestling Sheet noted on Twitter that WWE is planning to reunite Reigns with RAW tag team champions Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose in an effort to boost ticket sales for TLC and continue the RAW brand’s streak of stacked PPV cards.

It’s interesting to note that Roman Reigns will be a guest on Miz TV in the opening segment of tonight’s RAW. With the planned Shield reunion and The Miz and his Miztourage always looking for high-profile competition, The Shield vs. The Miztourage is rumored as one of the top matches for TLC.

There’s no word yet as to how long this Shield reunion will last, but aligning Reigns with Rollins and Ambrose once again would go a long way in WWE’s effort to get Reigns over with the large portion of the WWE Universe that has not yet embraced the Big Dog as RAW’s top babyface.

The longterm plan for Reigns is still a WrestleMania 34 showdown with Brock Lesnar, so we’ll see if Reigns still has the Shield backup by the time these two collide.

Aleister Black Has Heated Twitter Exchange With Wrestling News Reporter

NXT star Aleister Black had strong words for a controversial wrestling news reporter regarding women’s wrestling and fans chanting in appropriate things at the female performers. It started when Jimmy Havoc tweeted:

In response to a fan that complained about Havoc’s position, Twitter account @ProWrestlingMag agreed that inappropriate chants like the one Jimmy Havoc referenced have no place in wrestling. Controversial wrestling news reporter Bill Bhatti disagreed, leading to a heated exchange with NXT star Aleister Black.
