Mick Foley On Shane McMahon’s Hell In A Cell Jump, If He Raised The Bar To An Unrealistic Level

WWE Legend Mick Foley recently had an interview with Sports Illustrated where he talked about the recent Hell In A Cell match between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens among other things. Below are some of the highlights from his interview:

Shane McMahon’s jump from the top of the Cell:

“He didn’t seek my counsel, I give him all the credit in the world, he’s probably the bravest guy I know, he’s absolutely fearless. I wish he wouldn’t do it, I hope he doesn’t do it again, I really do… A lot of impact, on landing. He’s got children, I just hope he doesn’t do it again.”

If he raised the bar for taking crazy bumps to an unrealistic level:

“I wanted to give people what I wanted to see out of matches. I knew what I wanted to see, I was not a naturally-gifted athlete, so I had to think outside the box and I may have raised the bar to an unrealistic level. But then it all comes back to storytelling, it all comes back to getting people caught up in your character so they care about the plight of a character they care about.”

WWE deciding that Attitude Era is over:

“WWE did decide at a certain point, the Attitude Era is over, we’re bringing in a new era and they went in a more PG-direction and worldwide they’ve never been bigger, So it was no-doubt the right move and guys have found new ways to connect with the audiences.”

Post-RAW Daniel Bryan Storyline Update, Alexa Bliss On Mickie James Being Old (Video), Rhyno & Heath Slater

– Below is video of RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss talking to Mike Rome after retaining her title over Mickie James in the main event of last night’s WWE RAW in Baltimore. Rome asks when Mickie will give up on the title and realize her time has passed. Bliss says maybe it’s her age because she’s so old & crazy, and doesn’t realize this isn’t 2017 anymore but Mickie needs to give up because she’s old.

– As noted, SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan appeared on last night’s RAW and was attacked by Kane in a dark office during a backstage segment. WWE posted the following storyline injury update on Bryan after the show:

Daniel Bryan taken to a local medical facility

Check back with WWE.com for more information as it becomes available.

– Last night’s RAW saw Rhyno and Heath Slater defeat Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in a Trick or Street Fight. Rhyno and Slater were dressed as Santa & Mrs. Claus while Gallows and Anderson were dressed as their Southpaw Regional Wrestling characters. Below is post-match video with the winners talking to Mike Rome. Slater jokes about Rhyno being a pretty woman, then brags about “killing it” during the match as the people around the world loved it. Rhyno jokes about feeling sexy before Slater calls him the MVP.

Bobby Lashley Says A Match With Brock Lesnar ‘Needs To Be Done’

Bobby Lashley has expressed his urge to fight Brock Lensar multiple times in the past and he continued chasing a match against the Beast during his recent interview with Hannibal TV. Below are some of the highlights from Lasley’s latest interview:

Match against Brock Lesnar:

“It’s not on me, it’s on him. I’m not the type to call people out. I have mad respect for Brock and I have mad respect for everybody in the fight business and in the wrestling business. But I think it’s just one of those things that needs to be done.”

On people nowadays wanting to see different contests:

“There’s big matchups all the way across the board. They looked at Brock fighting Jon Jones, that was one thing that was talked about, everybody was like, ‘Oh, that’s awesome!’ Floyd Mayweather fighting Conor [McGregor], these are different matchups that people want to see. I think right now people are starting to move more into that entertainment aspect of wanting to see those different contests and different matchups. Brock and myself, whether it’s in professional wrestling or whether it’s in a fight, I think it needs to be done.”

How he’ll do against the Beast:

“Until the fight happens, no one knows. I think I would do well. I think our styles are very similar and I think it’s gonna be tit-for-tat in a lot of ways.”

Samoa Joe Warns WWE Roster (Video), Nikki Bella Reacts To Elimination, Post-RAW Note

– As noted, Samoa Joe made his first WWE RAW appearance this week after suffering a knee injury in late August. Below is video of Joe talking to Mike Rome after the win over Apollo Crews. Rome says Joe wasted no time putting the RAW and SmackDown rosters on notice but Joe says to put them on notice would mean to inform people that do not know, and everybody knows what he is here to do, what he’s capable of.

Joe says he’s seen Superstars get injured and have this beautiful tale of redemption & coming back spun by Rome, the WWE.com staff and others, but none of those things were afforded to him while he was out. Joe goes on and says Rome & others like him are all selfish, they’re all punks and they’re all jealous of those who can do what Joe can do. Joe says he’s not putting everybody on notice, everybody already knows that anybody can and will get it.

– There was no dark main event after this week’s RAW in Baltimore went off the air. After Braun Strowman returned to destroy WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel in the show-closing segment, Braun stood tall and left looking strong. Rome thanked the fans for coming and that was it.

– As noted, Nikki Bella and partner Artem Chigvintsev were eliminated from this week’s Dancing With The Stars episode on ABC. The two made it to week 7 of the competition but were cut on the Halloween-themed episode in a double elimination. Nikki took to Twitter and wrote the following after being eliminated:

Braun Strowman Survivor Series Update & Return Video, Emma On Her Life After WWE

– Braun Strowman made his return to TV on this week’s WWE RAW from Baltimore, taking out Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas and WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz to end the show. This was Braun’s first appearance since being tossed into the garbage truck at the WWE TLC pay-per-view a few weeks back.

WWE has not announced Braun’s Survivor Series opponent yet but it’s believed he will face Kane in singles action. That match may have been nixed as Braun did not interact with Kane on RAW. There are also new rumors of Braun being on Team RAW for the 5-on-5 Traditional Elimination Match against Team SmackDown.

Below is video from the return in Baltimore:

– As noted, WWE announced on Sunday that Emma, Summer Rae and Darren Young have been released from the company. Emma took to Twitter during RAW and issued the following comments on her future. You can also see her first post-release tweet below:

Nikki Bella Eliminated From Dancing With The Stars

Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev were eliminated from ABC’s Dancing With The Stars competition after their performance on this week’s Halloween-themed episode. She made it 7 weeks before being eliminated.

The elimination comes after Nikki’s season-high score from last week. She was voted off with Vanessa Lachey in a shocking double-elimination on Monday night.

WWE announced the following on the elimination:

Nikki Bella is eliminated on “Dancing with the Stars”

Nikki Bella danced her way into America’s hearts on Monday night, but the Mirror Ball Trophy won’t be hers on Season 25 of “Dancing with the Stars.”

While Nikki scored a season-high 46 points from the judges last week, that score combined with viewer votes still eliminated her from the competition in a shocking double-elimination, where the Superstar was voted out alongside Vanessa Lachey.

Nikki won the hearts of the judges and America on Monday’s Halloween Week episode, however, performing a spooky jive with professional partner Artem Chigvintsev. The dance earned her just a 24, but the audience gave her a standing ovation.

Can’t get enough of Nikki? Don’t miss her on Wednesday’s Season 7 premiere of E!’s Total Divas this week.

Below are a few photos and videos from this week’s competition:

Kane Attacks Daniel Bryan On RAW (Photo), Identity Of Asuka’s Opponent, Nia Jax

– As noted, Nia Jax returned on tonight’s WWE RAW and defeated Bayley. She was also named the first official red brand pick for the women’s 5-on-5 Traditional Elimination Match at Survivor Series by RAW Team Captain Alicia Fox. In the video below, Mike Rome talks to Nia after the match and asks if she’s surprised to be the first pick. Nia runs Rome down for asking such a stupid question and then storms off.

– Tara sent word that the enhancement talent who lost to Asuka on tonight’s RAW was indie wrestler Kasey Catal/Stacie Cutter. She used the name Stacie Cullen on RAW. Catal trains at the Create-A-Pro Wrestling Academy in Hicksville, NY, which is ran by Curt Hawkins and Pat Buck.

– SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan made an appearance on tonight’s RAW from Baltimore, making it known to RAW General Manager Kurt Angle that he did not agree with SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon leading the “Under Siege” attack last week. Bryan ended up doing a stretcher job after being attacked by former tag team partner Kane. You can see shots from Bryan’s segment below:

7 Takeaways From WWE RAW (10/30)

WWE RAW aired live from the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, MD on October 30th. Last week’s episode of RAW ended with SmackDown attacking the RAW roster. Here are 7 takeaways for this week’s episode of RAW:

Stephanie McMahon Gave Kurt Angle An Ultimatum

WWE Chief Brand Ambassador Stephanie McMahon

RAW GM Kurt Angle kicked off RAW with the entire RAW roster on the entrance ramp. Angle apologized to the RAW locker room and said that he let he let his friendship with Shane McMahon blind him and that he will never let that happen again. RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon came down to the ring and stated that she thinks that Angle has been doing a great job throughout all chaos.

Stephanie added that Angle earned her respect, until he allowed SmackDown to put RAW under siege. Stephanie blamed Angle for allowing this to happen and called him incompetent. Stephanie then named Kurt Angle the team captain for Survivor Series and said that she expected dominance at the event. If not, she will have to find a new GM of RAW. Stephanie and Angle were shown backstage. Stephanie said that she meant everything that she said and that Angle should ask Mick Foley if he doesn’t believe her.

I figured that Angle and Shane McMahon would be a part of Team RAW and Team SmackDown at Survivor Series. Stephanie McMahon cut a great promo tonight and it was good to see her back on RAW. This storyline is entertaining and Angle showed he could still go in the ring at TLC. Shane McMahon is still an absolute maniac, so if he is added to the match Survivor Series could be very entertaining.

Big Names Returned Tonight On RAW

Nia Jax made her return tonight and defeated Bayley with ease. Alicia Fox was supposed to be Bayley’s opponent but she backed out of the match and announced that Nia Jax would take her place. Alicia then watched the match from the top of the entrance ramp with a captain’s hat on. After Nia’s victory, Alicia announced that Nia Jax will be on the RAW women’s team at Survivor Series.

Samoa Joe also returned and cut a promo about how much he hated the WWE Universe. Apollo Crews then came down to the ring and had a match with Samoa Joe. Michael Cole noted that Crews and Titus O’Neil were the first two Superstars attacked by SmackDown last week on RAW and Crews wanted to prove himself tonight so that he could join the men’s team at Survivor Series. Crews put up a fight but lost the match when Joe put him in the Coquina Clutch. Joe then put Titus O’Neil in the Coquina Clutch after the match.

Stephanie McMahon wasn’t the only Superstar to return tonight. Nia Jax and Samoa Joe made their returns as well. RAW has missed Samoa Joe’s presence so much. He is an awesome heel and a total game-changer for the show. I’m guessing Joe will find his way onto the men’s team for Survivor Series.

Matt Hardy Needs To Become “Broken”

The Miz showed up fashionably late tonight on RAW and Kurt Angle argued with him when he arrived. Angle informed The Miz that he was the captain of Team RAW at Survivor Series. The Miz was pissed off and started belittling Kurt Angle. Finally, the RAW GM had enough and announced that The Miz will be defending his Intercontinental Championship tonight on RAW against a mystery opponent.

His opponent wound up being Matt Hardy. Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel were ringside and got in a cheap shot on Matt during the match. Matt connected with the Side Effect for a two count. Matt climbed to the top rope and connected with a Moonsault for another two count. Matt then hit the Twist of Fate but Miz rolled to the ring apron. The Miz then hung Matt Hardy up on the top rope and followed it up with the Skull Crushing Finale for the pinfall victory.

The Miz and Matt Hardy had a very good match tonight on RAW. I feel like Matt Hardy is being wasted on RAW right now. Jeff Hardy is injured and Hardy has been floating around for weeks. He was briefly paired up with Jason Jordan and now he is back on his own. Matt Hardy is popular, but I’d really like to see him turn “Broken” sooner rather than later. It is long overdue and WWE may have already missed their opportunity to capitalize on Matt being “Broken”, but it is still worth a shot.

Daniel Bryan Got Attacked In The Dark

Daniel Bryan approached RAW GM Kurt Angle backstage and said that he had no idea that Shane and the SmackDown roster was going to attack them last week. Kurt Angle didn’t believe Daniel Bryan and said that he was going to lock Bryan in his office for his own safety because the RAW roster will beat him down if they see him.

Angle also vowed that Team RAW was going to destroy Team SmackDown at Survivor Series. Daniel Bryan was shown on the phone when the lights went out in the office. Kane then appeared and Chokeslammed Daniel Bryan in the dark. Daniel Bryan was shown stretchered out of the arena later during the show.

I still can’t believe that Kane is playing such a prominent role in WWE out of nowhere in 2017. The lights going out was a bit goofy, but I guess it made sense because WWE doesn’t want to show Daniel Bryan taking a bump. I think the only solution here is to bring in Dr. Shelby so that he can sort things out between Kane and Bryan.

It Is 2017 And Kane Is Here To Destroy All Your Favorite Wrestlers

Kane

Kane

Finn Balor defeated Cesaro in a pretty good match. As Balor was heading up the entrance ramp, Kane appeared. Balor got in the first punch but Kane quickly took control and planted him with a Tombstone Piledriver on the entrance ramp. Kane then made his way to the ring because he had a match with Seth Rollins.

Sheamus and Cesaro came down to the ring and attacked Dean Ambrose outside the ring. Rollins leaped onto Sheamus and Cesaro and then tried to leap onto Kane in the ring but Kane caught him. Kane then planted Rollins with the Chokeslam for the pinfall victory. Ambrose attacked Kane from behind and hit the Dirty Deeds. Sheamus and Cesaro then attacked Rollins and Kane sat up in the ring. Kane then planted Ambrose and Rollins with a couple of Tombstone Piledrivers.

Kane defeated Finn Balor last week clean and tonight he defeated Seth Rollins. At least tonight there was outside interference from Sheamus and Cesaro. I’m assuming that this is going to lead to Braun Strowman returning and having a match with Kane at Survivor Series. I don’t have that much interest in that match because I thought Strowman had elevated passed matches like this. He already defeated Big Show in their feud, I don’t really see the value in having Strowman face Kane.

Braun Strowman Has Spent The Past Eight Days Inside Of A Garbage Truck

Braun Strowman

The Miz, Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas entered The Miz’s locker room. There was a giant bag of garbage in the locker room and The Miz feared that Strowman was back after he was thrown in a garbage truck at WWE TLC. The Miz then approached Kane backstage and informed him of what happened. Kane stated that Strowman knows where to find him if Braun has come back. The Miz laughed and said that he knew that they were on the same team. Kane then laughed in The Miz’s face and told him that he was on his own. Kane then walked away as The Miz had a concerned look on his face.

Later on RAW, The Miz was backstage with Sheamus and Cesaro. The Miz was freaking out and Sheamus told him to relax because their was no way Strowman could have recovered from what happened to him at WWE TLC. The Miz said “thanks, it is nice to be a part of a strong team”. Sheamus and Cesaro shared a laugh and told The Miz that he was on his own. The Miz then got on the phone and told Bo and Axel to pack the bags because they are leaving right now.

The Miz, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel were shown walking backstage heading towards their car. RAW GM Kurt Angle stopped them and said that the three of them are going to stay until the end of the show or else. The Miz once again was shown backstage before the main event. The Miz told Axel to call the limo driver and tell him to have the car running because they are leaving as soon as the show is over.

After the main event, The Miz and The Miztourage were shown getting in the limo. A garbage truck appeared in front of the limo and started backing towards them. Braun Strowman then emerged from the garbage and chased Miz, Bo and Axel to the entrance ramp. Strowman then launched them all down the entrance ramp and slowly walked towards them.

Braun threw The Miz into the ring and then elbowed Axel off the ring apron. Strowman then planted Axel and Bo with a couple of Running Powerslams as The Miz retreated up the entrance ramp. The crowd chanted “one more time” and Strowman delivered another Running Powerslam to Axel. Strowman wasn’t done and hit a third Running Powerslam to Axel. The Miz had a horrified look on his face as Strowman hit another Running Powerslam.

The Miz and Dallas ran backstage and Strowman brought Axel out of the ring. Braun lifted Axel onto his shoulders and marched up the entrance ramp towards the table. Strowman then hit another Running Powerslam through the announce table. Strowman then posed at the top of the entrance ramp as RAW went off the air.

I thought this was highly entertaining. Braun Strowman emerged from the garbage truck after he was thrown in there by The Miz, Sheamus & Cesaro and Kane eight days ago at WWE TLC. I’m looking forward to the carnage Strowman causes over the next few weeks on RAW. I just wish that it was leading to something more important than a match against Kane.

Alexa Bliss Defeated Mickie James With A Punch

RAW GM Kurt Angle informed Alexa Bliss that she would be defending her RAW Women’s Championship tonight in the main event. Mickie controlled the match early and booted Alexa out of the ring as RAW went to a commercial break. When RAW returned, Alexa Bliss regained control of the match after slamming Mickie’s face into the ring post.

Alexa applied a Chin Lock in the middle of the ring and shouted at Mickie to give up. Mickie didn’t quit and battled back to her feet and elbowed Alexa in the ribs to break the hold. Alexa threw Mickie back down to the canvas and once again applied a Chin Lock. Mickie once again broke free but Alexa knocked her back down to the mat.

Mickie got back to her feet and connected with a Clothesline. Mickie hit a Neckbreaker and went for the cover but Bliss kicked out at two. Bliss climbed to the top rope but Mickie caught her with a kick and Alexa tumbled to the floor outside the ring. Back in the ring, Mickie attempted several roll-ups but Alexa kicked out every time. Bliss then hit with a big right hand for the victory.

This was labeled as the main event, but it was clearly overshadowed by Braun Strowman returning to close the show. I don’t quite understand why Alexa Bliss was able to defeat Mickie James with a simple punch. Mickie James is a six time champion and I think she deserved better than that. There really is no reason for this feud to continue after Bliss defeated Mickie James so easily tonight.

It was also reported that Nia was taking a few weeks off to rest up while she wasn’t being booked in any of the top storylines. Ring announcer JoJo, who was also out due to the illness, returned tonight as well. Bo appeared in a backstage segment with Curtis Axel, WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz and RAW General Manager Kurt Angle while Nia defeated Bayley. Bayley was set to face RAW Team Captain Alicia Fox but Fox revealed her replacement to be Nia. Fox later added Nia to the women’s team at Survivor Series.

– Below is a promo for this week’s WWE SmackDown, featuring Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kevin Owens plus a 2 of 3 Falls match with Bobby Roode taking on Dolph Ziggler. The winners of these matches will qualify for the men’s SmackDown team at Survivor Series.

Stephanie McMahon Returns, Announces Kurt Angle’s Roe At Survivor Series

RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon made her return to WWE TV on this week’s RAW from Baltimore in the opening segment. This was her first appearance since WrestleMania 33 earlier this year.

Stephanie interrupted RAW General Manager Kurt Angle’s opening segment, featuring the RAW roster on the stage, and announced that Angle would be the Team Captain for the RAW vs. SmackDown 5-on-5 Traditional Elimination Match at the November 19th Survivor Series pay-per-view.

Stephanie also threatened Angle’s job if he comes up short at Survivor Series.

WWE RAW Results & Live Discussion (10/30)

Angle says Shane slapped them all in the face, including the audience, and Kurt promises next to put his roster in harms way again. Angle says at Survivor Series he promises to…. — before he can finish his sentence, Stephanie McMahon’s music hits and the RAW Commissioner makes her return to the show. Stephanie comes out and says she can’t let Angle start the show on a sad note like that, and she mentions the RAW 25th Anniversary show in January. Stephanie says that Kurt is doing a great job since Vince gave him the job, despite the Jason Jordan incident and the recent virus going around the roster. Stephanie says her brother Shane attacked RAW to get to her, and she blames Kurt for allowing Shane to destroy the legacy of RAW. She says she will give Angle a chance to make up for everything, by being Team Captain for RAW at Survivor Series. She threatens Angle’s job if he doesn’t “annihilate” SmackDown. Angle tells Miz he’s sick of hearing him talk, and asks where he was last night when SmackDown was attacking. – Back from commercial break, Samoa Joe is in the ring and says that it sounds like some of the fans missed him. Joe says that’s amusing, because he didn’t miss a single one of them. Joe says he doesn’t care about the fans, and none of them reached out to him while he was gone. Joe says he’ll use their disrespect as fuel for his rage against anyone who steps in the ring with him. His first opponent back will be Apollo Crews:

Angle calms down when he sees that it’s just Bryan, and he asks him what the hell he’s doing here. Bryan smirks as the camera cuts away.

– Back from commercial, Angle and Bryan are still backstage. Angle asks Bryan if he’s here to finish the job Shane started, and Bryan says he has nothing to do with Shane’s invasion last week. Bryan says he came here alone tonight, and is taking a big risk by doing so because the whole RAW roster wants to rip him apart. Bryan says Shane doesn’t know he’s here tonight, but Angle doesn’t believe him. Bryan apologizes for everything, and reiterates that he doesn’t agree with what Shane did. Angle says he’s going to keep Bryan safe from the roster tonight so he can get back to Shane. Angle says he’s bringing his gold medals and the whole RAW roster to take out Shane and the SmackDown roster, and it’s damn true.

– Cole introduces a video package for the Jinder Mahal vs. Brock Lesnar match at Survivor Series.

– Daniel Bryan is backstage on the phone when the lights cut out. He tells the person on the other end of the line that he’ll call them back. Bryan thinks Angle is messing with him, and then realizes he’s locked in the room. Bryan then gets attacked by Kane, who delivers a chokeslam to the SmackDown GM. Booker T says on commentary that Bryan got what he deserved.

Survivor Series RAW vs. SmackDown Team Members Revealed

The main event of next month’s WWE Survivor Series will see WWE Champion Jinder Mahal vs. WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.

The build for this match over the next several weeks will determine if WWE can capture fan interest enough to make this a suitable headliner, but the most intriguing contest will be the men’s RAW vs. SmackDown team elimination match that is the focal point of the ongoing ‘under siege’ storyline.

According to PWInsider, RAW General Manager Kurt Angle will be returning to the ring once again on November 19th as the captain for Team RAW. Team RAW will consist of:

  • Kurt Angle
  • Roman Reigns
  • Finn Balor
  • Braun Strowman
  • Samoa Joe

That’s one hell of a team, but Reigns’ involvement is currently up in the air as a result of the undisclosed medical illness he’s currently battling. wWE officials are optimistic that Reigns will be cleared in time for Survivor Series, but that’s the current plan.

On the SmackDown side, the blue brand’s captain will be commissioner Shane McMahon. Team SmackDown will consist of:

  • Shane McMahon
  • AJ Styles
  • Randy Orton
  • Shinsuke Nakamura
  • Bobby Roode

The prospect of Kurt Angle mixing it up with the likes of Shane McMahon and AJ Styles once again makes this arguably the most intriguing matchup for next month’s big PPV.

Discussion: What do you think of these teams and who do you expect to win the ‘Battle of the Brands’ at Survivor Series?

PROGRESS Chapter 57 Main Event Confirmed

PROGRESS has announced the main event for their upcoming Chapter 57 event ‘Enter Smiling’ which takes place from Manchester’s O2 Ritz.

PROGRESS World Champion Travis Banks will be defending his title against former Champion Mark Andrews. ‘White Lightning’ Mark Andrews earned this title shot at Chapter 55 and he will be looking to finally reclaim the belt after a short lived first reign.

Travis Banks defeated Keith Lee at this past Sunday’s Chapter 56 event and he will look to continue his winning streak against Andrews. It is highly likely that Banks walks out of Manchester with the belt, Andrews is currently only a bit part player on the PROGRESS roster and his involvement with WWE’s UK Division and the WWE’s plans in general are not yet clear…still, this should be an incredible bout and one well worth checking out on PROGRESS’ On Demand service.

WWE Cast Speculation Over Champions Ahead Of Survivor Series

Speculation over the Survivor Series Champion vs Champion matches has been cast by wwe.com.  A RAW preview has stated that while Brock Lesnar and Jinder Mahal are set, other title holders may not be champions by Survivor Series.

“Though anything can happen in WWE, Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman seem fairly focused on WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, so perhaps The Beast is secure for the time being. But, that same cannot be said for all other Raw titleholders.”

The main focus of the preview from WWE was on Alexa Bliss’ title.  With Mickie James and Asuka presenting themselves as the most obvious and lethal of threats

“Alexa Bliss has consistently represented Team Red as a formidable Raw Women’s Champion, but her attempts to brag about her successful title defense against Mickie James at WWE TLC were spoiled by the six-time Women’s Champion, who took out Little Miss Bliss with a wicked DDT last week on the red brand. Without a doubt, Mickie isn’t done with the “goddess.””

The statement further suggests that Asuka is likely to go after the RAW Women’s Championship and look to continue her undefeated run.  A WWE poll also asked fans to vote for who they think should be the superstar to end Asuka’s amazing performance; the current winner of that poll is Charlotte Flair.

The last superstar to be cast with doubt over his title was The Miz:

“In his collective reigns, The Miz has held the Intercontinental Title longer than all but two past Superstars, but can The A-Lister remain champion if he continues to antagonize dangerous forces such as Raw General Manager Kurt Angle and The Shield in his never-ending search for respect?”

Either Seth Rollins or Dean Ambrose could aim to pick up the Intercontinental Championship, but the preview suggested that they would be more focused on retaining their Tag Team Championships ahead of the PPV in November.  And with a successful return to the ring at TLC, the Intercontinental Championship seems a bit beneath Kurt Angle at this stage in his career.

However it wouldn’t be too far-fetched for Kurt Angle to throw other superstars towards The Miz who could pick up the IC title from The A-Lister.

Opinion:

It would seem drastic to change title holders ahead of Survivor Series, especially with The Miz’s twitter battle with Baron Corbin.

The main superstar to be under threat is Alexa Bliss.  I believe that Asuka has the best chance at gaining the title as she continues her spectacular run, but I can’t see why WWE would want to suddenly change the title over, 3 weeks before Survivor Series.

Cesaro: I Would Love To Be In A One-On-One Match With Kurt Angle

Cesaro recently spoke with The Baltimore Sun to talk about various topics. Here are the highlights:

His match at WWE TLC PPV:

“It was crazy. That’s the one word to sum it up. Starting with Kurt Angle being part of The Shield, to Kurt Angle being back in a WWE ring, being in the same ring as Kurt Angle. Then there were chairs, tables, ladders … garbage trucks. You name it.”

“Selfishly, I was very happy about it. I was a big fan of Kurt Angle when I was growing up. Actually, his book is a big part of the reason that I work out so hard. I thought I was working out pretty hard myself when I was younger, and then I read his book and realized that I needed to step it up, at least a little bit. I knew I may not be able to match his output, but I was going to try my hardest. He had a big influence on me and it was pretty awesome to be in the ring with him in his WWE return.”

Possible one-on-one match with Angle:

“100%. I would love to be in a one-on-one match with him. That’s a dream match for many people, myself included.”

Matt Riddle No Longer Heading to New Japan?

Former UFC star Matt Riddle had been rumored for a potential debut in New Japan’s annual World Tag League event later this year. The company had planned on unveiling both Riddle and EVOLVE/Lucha Underground star Jeff Cobb as a way of pushing the often under hyped series.

The deal confirming Riddle’s part on the tour was all but sealed according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, however it is believed that NJPW’s parent company Bushiroad had discovered Riddle’s UFC test failures for marijuana.

Japanese culture takes a strong stance against marijuana, a case in point being Matt Sydal’s expulsion from New Japan following his arrest by Japanese officials back in 2016. It is not clear at this time if Riddle and New Japan are still in talks or if this deal is indeed completely off the table, Cobb is still slated to debut as part of the World Tag League tour.

Eric Bischoff On Roman Reigns’ Character, WWE Producing Too Much Content

Former WCW President Eric Bischoff recently was a recent guest on the All Things Wrestling Radio podcast. Here are some highlights of what he said about:

The need to define Roman Reigns as a babyface or heel:

“You have to make a choice and you have to commit to a character. You’re either a babyface or a character that the fans relate to, support, love and aspire to be, or you’re not. And if you’re not, you’re heel, you’re despicable and they need to learn to love to hate you. And I think when you take that safe road in-between and let the fans decide…to me, it’s a cop-out.

To me, that’s kind of like raising your hands and saying, ‘Look, I’ve got ideas. I really don’t have a plan, so let’s just put him out there and let the fans choose.’ I think that’s just the most cowardly creative cop-out that I’ve ever heard.”

WWE producing too much programming:

“It’s kind of like football…there’s just too damn much of it. It’s all day Sunday, it’s Monday Night Football, it’s Thursday Night Football…[there] is just so much of it out there that none of it feels special anymore and I think that’s really acute when it comes to sports entertainment and professional wrestling…

I used to produce three hours of Nitro, so I know what kind of monster that is. I would think that it’s harder to watch three hours of content than it is to produce it.”

Gallows & Anderson Remove WWE References From Twitter Profiles

Over the past several days, former RAW tag team champions Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have removed references to WWE from their Twitter profiles. Their Twitter handles remain @LukeGallowsWWE and @KarlAndersonWWE.

Maybe it’s nothing. Maybe they’re trolling. But it’s unusual.

The former RAW tag team champions have not been able to garner much momentum since dropping the titles to the returning Hardy Boyz at WrestleMania 33.

Last night on RAW, the duo lost an “All Hallows’ Eve Trick or Street Fight” to Heath Slater and Rhyno. After the match, Anderson tweeted:

You can watch the All Hallows’ Eve Trick or Street Fight here:
