Batista On The Rock: “Would I Consider Him A Great Actor? F— No”

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Batista recently did an interview with TampaBay.com where he spoke about a wide range of topics.

During this interview, he discussed how he “hates” being compared the likes of former WWE Champions John Cena and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as they are an elite group of WWE stars who have made the successful transition from being a pro wrestler to an actor in Hollywood.

“Do not compare me to The Rock or John Cena. Everyone does it. Those guys are wrestlers who became movie stars. I’m … something else. I was a wrestler. Now, I’m an actor.”

Batista also made some interesting comments about Johnson, who is a future WWE Hall of Famer and will go down as one of the greatest wrestlers to ever step foot inside of the squared circle. He wants to be his own person and not seen in the same light as The Rock.

“Rock was, in a way, a movie star before he was even a movie star. There is something about him that’s really special. I’d never take that away from him,” Bautista says. “Would I consider him a great actor? F— no.”

Batista would continue by bringing up how he wants good roles that don’t have to be movies such as Fast and Furious or Bumblebee. Instead, he wants to work with Academy Award winners and be a character actor that is well respected.

“I want good roles. I don’t care about Fast and Furious or Bumblebee. … That’s not the kind of stardom I want. … I want to be in Dune. I want to work with Denis Villeneuve. I want to work with Sam Mendes and Jodie Foster. I want to work with Academy Award winners. I’m proud to be a character actor. I want that respect and credibility and education.”

Other topics discussed include his troubled upbringing, how he broke into wrestling his tattoos, politics and much more. Visit TampaBay.com to read the full interview.

WWE SmackDown Star Works First Match In Several Months

Despite being back on WWE television for a few weeks, SmackDown star Erick Rowan has returned to action inside of the squared circle.

He did so by beating former WWE Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin in a singles match at a WWE live event on Monday in Savannah, GA at the Martin Luther King Jr Arena.

Rowan made his return by helping Daniel Bryan retain the WWE Title over AJ Styles Royal Rumble pay-per-view event back in January. However, his last match came back on the August 21st episode of SmackDown Live when he and Luke Harper lost to The New Day.

Bryan is set to make his next title defense against Kofi Kingston at the Fastlane pay-per-view event. Rowan is expected to be at ringside for this upcoming WWE Title Match.

WWE Savannah Event Results

  • SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos retained over Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev and The New Day

Honky Tonk Man Joins WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019

He’s cool, he’s cocky, he’s bad — and now he’s a WWE Hall of Famer.

The Honky Tonk Man will sing and dance his way into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the 2019 class that will be inducted during WrestleMania weekend in April.

CBS Sports first announced that the former Intercontinental champion would be joining the class of 2019 alongside previously announced faction D-Generation X, who will also be part of the ceremony on April 6 in Brooklyn.

The Honky Tonk Man was a massive heel in WWE during the 1980’s where he is best known for his iconic run as the longest reigning Intercontinental champion in history with a run that lasted for over a year between 1987 and 1988. The Honky Tonk Man — real name Wayne Farris — held the title for a record 64 weeks before he was finally dethroned at SummerSlam in 1988 by The Ultimate Warrior.

A gimmick that was largely based on being an Elvis Presley impersonator, Honky Tonk Man ended up as one of the most reviled bad guys on the entire WWE roster while engaging in memorable feuds with “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake.

Honky Tonk Man even recorded his own entrance song that was featured on the ‘WWE Piledriver: The Wrestling Album II’ that became synonymous with his on-screen character.

As part of his character, Honky Tonk Man would often cheat to win and then smash his opponent with his signature guitar that was always with him ringside.

“WWE is the place to be. For me, it’s the only place I have ever wanted to be,” Farris told CBS Sports. “It’s the place that if I’m ready to finish up, that’s where I want to be. It’s home for me because I have so many fond memories of everything that has been accomplished by WWE and from what I’ve accomplished myself. It wasn’t me alone, it was a huge team effort.

“That is what’s amazing and what is so great about being part of the WWE. The door is open to you and it’s up to you if you want to walk through it. I look back on everything and for some unknown reason, everything has a meaning. The timing, everything about this year in the 2019 Hall of Fame, everything was lining up perfectly. I never dreamed it was going to happen and would tell people that it’s something I don’t think about every day of my life. But to be able to be part of this, it’s hard to explain.”

Following his run as Intercontinental champion, Honky joined a tag team alongside Greg “The Hammer” Valentine dubbed ‘Rhythm & Blues’ as they began working together in WWE with Jimmy Hart as their manager.

His in-ring WWE career came to an end in 1991, although he would return several times over the years while working as a commentator, manager and even performing from time to time.

Now the man with the long sideburns and slicked back hair will join the WWE Hall of Fame. There’s no word yet if he will arrive in a pink Cadillac.

WWE has posted a video of what transpired after Monday’s Raw from Atlanta, GA went off the air. The show ended with a hot angle that saw the return of Batista, who attacked Ric Flair backstage and ruined his 70th birthday celebration.

After Raw, Jinder Mahal and the Singh Brothers came out for a Punjabi celebration in honor of Ric Flair. They began dancing around before Shawn Michaels hit Jinder with Sweet Chin Music. Kurt Angle then gave him an Angle Slam through the birthday cake that was set up in the ring.

The Singh Brothers got similar treatment as the night ended with Michaels, Angle, Sting and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat standing tall. You can see the footage below:

The working relationship between WWE and EVOLVE has long been publicised. WWE’s ties to PROGRESS are also now more in the limelight than ever before, with PROGRESS co-owner Jim Smallman apparently being groomed to run the NXT UK territory. Theory heading over to the UK might well be an opportunity to get him working with NXT UK Superstars and get more seasoning before moving up to NXT in either North American or the United Kingdom.

Hangman Adam Page Announces The Full Gear Challenge

If you’re a fan of Being The Elite, you know AEW star Adam “Hangman” Page needs to tone up his physique and should not be walking around in ‘full gear.’

Page knows it too, thanks to Cody’s relentless hazing. In an effort to get himself (and wrestling fans) in better physical shape, Page has announced the Full Gear Challenge.

With less than three months until AEW Double or Nothing, Page wrote on social media, “For the next 89 days I’ll be documenting my journey to get in shape here on my Instagram. Whether your goal for DON is to lose some weight, add some mass, or to somehow do both at the same time, I hope you’ll join me.”

He’s encouraging fans to share their progress using the hashtag #fullgearchallenge.

Page added, “No more pancake ass or chubby cheeks. We can do this together.”

Adam Page has a lot of work to do if he plans on being ‘full gear ready’ by late May. But it’s a commendable effort on his part.

Roman Reigns Good Morning America Recap (Video)

Roman Reigns appeared on Good Morning America Tuesday morning for an interview with host Robin Roberts. Reigns discussed his big announcement from Raw and the news that his leukemia is in remission.

Reigns says it was amazing to be back in the ring. It’s one of those things he thought about over and over. He knew his journey would not be complete until he got to step back in the ring and address his fans. The he WWE Universe was gentle, gracious and sent him so much love.

He revealed that he was very nervous at Raw. He does not get nervous main eventing WrestleMania, but but addressing his health was very personal. The support from everyone has been overwhelming and a blessing.

Robin Roberts told Reigns that fans were waiting outside the television studio since 2 AM in order to get a chance to be there with him live today.

Reigns says he is all about the children. WWE is a PG product and families drive their business. WWE Superstars strive to be role models and that starts with the youth. Children are the most resilient warriors in the world and he’s been blessed to work directly with some who are battling health problems.

He recently visited a pediatric hospital in Dallas and those children made him an encouraging video that lifted his spirits. Before announcing his good news to the world on Raw, he first told the children of that pediatric hospital.

Reigns reflected back on his first leukemia diagnosis. He was only 22 years old at the time. His family has been his rock and his support system. When someone is diagnosed with a serious illness, the families also suffer and worry. The first time around, it felt like he was on an island. This time, it felt like he was surrounded by guardian angels. The terror he felt from the second diagnosis was alleviated by everyone’s support.

Now that he is healthy again, he plans to be a champion of pediatric cancer awareness. He has a huge platform with WWE and plans to use it. Every night he steps in that ring, he has a chance to make a difference. He and WWE are working on establishing funds and foundations to help with this cause.

Reigns thanked Robin Roberts after the appearance:

Nikki Bella Wants Nothing But “Happiness” For John Cena

Despite a pretty public, and well publicised, break up with her former partner, John Cena, Nikki Bella continues to wish him nothing but the best.

Speaking with Hollywood Life, Nikki Bella addressed a number of topics. These ranged from John Cena and winning a ‘Best Actress In A Reality Series’ award for ‘Total Bellas.’

When asked how she would feel if she were to find out that John Cena was officially dating someone else, Nikki Bella responded with a graceful answer — one that hinted towards a future that could perhaps, one day, see them together once more.

“I always say that I would be OK [to see John with a new girlfriend], but I think no matter what, it’s always hard to see someone that you loved for so long be with someone else, but I honestly only care about his happiness. I just hope whoever that person is makes him the happiest man on earth because that’s what he deserves. You never know with the future, right? Sometimes people get back together, sometimes they don’t. I guess one day at a time.”

The couple began dating in 2012 before announcing their separation last year. John Cena famously proposed to Nikki Bella in the middle of the ring at WrestleMania 33 after the two came out victorious over The Miz and Maryse in a tag team match. They were originally scheduled to be wed on May 5th 2018 prior to breaking up.

The Undertaker “Hated” The Idea Of Going Back To ‘The Dead Man’ Gimmick

The Undertaker has been making news recently, with ‘The Dead Man’ taking bookings outside of WWE as well as his involvement with the upcoming Starrcast II event.

During a recent episode of Something To Wrestle With Bruce Prichard — who has recently returned to WWE — Prichard talked about The Undertaker. He spoke about ‘The American Badass’ gimmick change that ‘Taker went through prior to returning to ‘The Dead Man’ gimmick at WrestleMania XX back in 2004.

According to Prichard, Undertaker “hated” the idea of going back to his previous gimmick as he felt that he had more opportunities to wrestle different styles as the “American Badass.”

“Mark Calaway [The Undertaker] hated the idea,” Prichard said. “Absolutely hated the idea of coming back as the ‘Dead Man’ because he thought with the ‘American Badass’ character, it was multi-dimensional and he wasn’t doing the head snaps and everything. He could work and go out and have a different style of match.”

Prichard continued, “And he felt that if he came back as the Dead Man, that he would have to go back into the ‘Dead Man’ persona in the ring and we all felt, look, let’s give them [WWE fans] that at WrestleMania — the old ‘Dead Man’ — but then you can evolve it the ring, in your work. You can work like the ‘American Badass,’ but you’re The Undertaker. It was a battle.”

As we all know, The Undertaker eventually return as the Dead Man character. He went on to continue his WrestleMania streak for another decade. During this time, he had some of the greatest matches of his career and in WrestleMania history.

The Undertaker’s status for WrestleMania 35 is unclear. He was rumored for a WWE Hall of Fame induction, but the news of DX entering the Hall this year might delay Taker’s induction one more year.

R-Truth Jokes About Being ‘Missing’ On SmackDown

If you’ve been wondering where the current WWE United States Champion is, you’re not the only one. Turns out the champion himself, R-Truth, has noticed his absence on television.

R-Truth won the title from Shinsuke Nakamura on the 1/29 episode of SmackDown Live, though he hasn’t appeared on the show in a while despite claiming gold.

Poking fun at his own situation, R-Truth took to his Instagram account highlighting how he has been missing from action. The post displays a carton of milk with R-Truth plastered on the side under a ‘Missing’ headline. It asks that if he is to be found, people should contact Carmella.

Next to the carton is a picture of R-Truth with his hands and feet tied and his mouth duct taped shut with the U.S. Championship around his waist.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BuRxJi7A66D/?utm_source=ig_embed

R-Truth has become known over the years for being his part in numerous WWE skits and comedy segments. Years ago he was accompanied by a small, invisible child called ‘Little Jimmy’; more recently he has been associated with Carmella, especially during their stint as a team for WWE’s Mixed Match Challenge. The duo would eventually win the tournament and with it an all-expenses-paid vacation to anywhere in the world. R-Truth chose the WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.

What do you think? Is this tongue-in-cheek joke a good way for R-Truth to stay on people’s radar? Should he be featured more, considering he is a champion?

Cody Comments On Arn Anderson Departing WWE

WWE has seen numerous internal changes made in recent weeks, with talent asking for their releases and backstage personnel departing the company. New backstage talent have started working, and some old faces have even returned.

However, a major name to recently leave the promotion is Arn Anderson. Although details are still light as to the exact reason why, it appears to revolve around an argument that took place with WWE Chairman and CEO, Vince McMahon.

Speaking with Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, Cody gave his thoughts on Anderson parting ways with WWE, claiming he was “shocked” by the announcement.

“I’m just shocked because the entire current top talent at WWE — Seth Rollins, John Cena, Brock, even, Charlotte — I mean, everybody within the ‘golden circle’ is an Arn guy or girl. I feel like that blows my mind. […] Arn Anderson is a gift the to the industry,” he said. “He’s not corporate, he’s a wrestler, but you cannot take wrestlers out of the wrestling business. I don’t know, man. Especially because he was so instrumental to the Triple H character…gosh, I don’t know. My mind is blown.”

Cody’s reaction came off of Satin confirming the story of Arn’s departure during the interview — something Cody was initially unaware of.

WWE Superstars React To Roman Reigns’ Remission Announcement

Last night saw “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns return to Monday Night RAW for the first time since October. Reigns was clearly thrilled to announce the great news that his leukemia is now officially in remission. Roman proudly told the WWE Universe that “We didn’t just swing for the fences…we hit a home run!” in regards to his journey.

It didn’t take long for the wrestling world to react to this positive announcement, with other WWE Superstars taking to social media in order to give their congratulations and well-wishes.

John Cena, Sami Zayn, Natalya, Mustafa Ali and more all commented on Reigns’ return.

“Real superheroes exist,” John Cena tweeted. “Back and with strength and purpose! It’s your yard Roman. Your time is most certainly NOW!”

Matt Hardy wrote, “Congrats on hitting a homerun & winning your fight, #RomanReigns! Like the @WWEUniverse, I am thrilled to hear this fantastic news.”

The Usos added, “BIG UCE IS BACK!!!….@WWERomanReigns #RAW #YEEET”

Even WWE Legend and Hall Of Famer, Booker T, tweeted out: “That’s some GOODT news! #WelcomeBackRoman @WWERomanReigns #RAW”

Fastlane

Roman Reigns would end up side-by-side with Seth Rollins later on in the night. The two came out in order to save their former-Shield brother, Dean Ambrose, from Elias, Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, and Bobby Lashley.

This could have been done to tease a potential matchup at WWE’s Fastlane event, which takes place on March 10th from Cleveland, Ohio.

6 Takeaways From WWE RAW (2/25)

The February 25th, 2018 episode of WWE RAW aired from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Here are 6 takeaways from this week’s show:

Roman Reigns Announced That His Leukemia Is In Remission

Roman Reigns returned to RAW tonight and received a great reaction from the crowd. Reigns thanked the crowd as they chanted “welcome back!”. He added that he missed the WWE Universe and that there is no other job like this.

Reigns stood in the ring silently as the crowd chanted “this is your yard!”. Reigns responded by stating that “this is our yard” and said that he was a man of faith. Roman admitted that he was terrified before his announcement in October and wasn’t sure if he wanted to share that secret with the world.

Roman brought up the number of prayers that were sent his way was overwhelming and thanked everyone for doing so. Reigns said that he felt like he could do anything with that kind of strength and love.

Reigns stated that as a young Superstar, getting titles and climbing that ladder was the most important. However, he will now use the WWE platform to spread awareness and help those that are in need. Roman announced that his leukemia is in remission and that the Big Dog is back. Roman once again thanked the crowd and said that he loved them. Seth Rollins came down to the entrance ramp and shared a hug with Reigns to conclude the segment.

Ricochet & Aleister Black Pinned The RAW Tag Team Champions

Aleister Black and Ricochet battled RAW Tag Team Champions The Revival tonight on RAW. Before the match started, Dawson and Wilder attacked Black and Ricochet from behind. Ricochet and Black battled back and knocked The Revival out of the ring.

The Revival took control of the match during the commercial break and isolated Ricochet in the ring. Ricochet quickly escaped and tagged Aleister Black into the match. Black leveled wilder with a boot to the face and followed it up with a Moonsault for a near fall.

Former RAW Tag Team Champions Bobby Roode and Chad Gable were shown backstage as Dawson tagged in. Dawson rolled up Black for a two count and followed it up with an awesome DDT for another near fall. Ricochet took out Wilder outside the ring as Aleister hit Black Mass on Dawson for the pinfall victory.

https://twitter.com/totaldivaseps/status/1100207735315025921

This makes the second week in a row that The Revival have lost to NXT call-ups. Last week, their match against Gargano and Ciampa was at least competitive. Tonight’s match only lasted a few minutes and made The Revival look weak.

Becky Lynch Was Arrested

Ronda Rousey and Natalya battled the Riott Squad this week on RAW. Ronda Rousey had the match in control after connecting with Piper’s Pit on Sarah Logan. Rousey set up for an Arm Bar but Becky Lynch hobbled towards the barricade. Lynch hit Natalya with a crutch before WWE security arrived.

Ronda went after Lynch but security held her back. Rousey took down several members of security as police escorted Lynch up the entrance ramp. Ronda then helped Natalya up the entrance ramp and marched back down to the ring.

Rousey demanded that Vince McMahon come out from backstage but Stephanie McMahon answered instead. Ronda told Stephanie to reinstate Becky Lynch but Stephanie announced that Lynch had been arrested. Ronda demanded that they drop the charges and give Lynch back her WrestleMania match.

Stephanie told Ronda that her opponent at WrestleMania is Charlotte Flair and the crowd booed. She claimed that Lynch was a loose cannon and unprofessional. Rousey called Lynch a “ginger douche” and added that a match against her at WrestleMania was best for business.

The crowd chanted “Triple Threat!” but Stephanie declined. Ronda said that wasn’t good enough and once again demanded that Becky is reinstated. Stephanie got pissed off and said that Rousey has a bad attitude. Rousey added that Vince McMahon needs to make the right decision and dropped the RAW Women’s Championship at Stephanie’s feet. Rousey then marched backstage without the title.

https://twitter.com/totaldivaseps/status/1100215680601939968

Ronda Rousey continues to struggle with her promos. It appeared like she had no idea what she was trying to say and the majority of her lines were forced. Having said that, this storyline is still entertaining and I’m looking forward to see where it goes in the upcoming weeks.

Finn Balor Retained The Intercontinental Championship

Alexa Bliss interviewed Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor on an episode of A Moment of Bliss. Bliss claimed that she would never have disrespected the RAW Women’s Championship like Ronda Rousey just did and offered to take her place at WrestleMania.

Bliss flirted with Balor and said that the title covers up his beautiful abs. Lio Rush interrupted and told Balor that Bobby Lashley deserves to be Intercontinental Champion. Balor claimed that Rush was out here to challenge him for the Intercontinental Championship to prove that he was better than Lashley. Balor accepted the challenge, even though Lio Rush wanted nothing to do with it. Bliss joked that Rush was not man enough to do the job and then Lio accepted the challenge.

Rush got in a flurry of offense and went for a Frog Splash off the top rope but Balor got his knees up. Lio Rush targetted Balor’s left knee and connected with a Dropkick. Finn went for a Suplex but his knee gave out and Rush rolled him up for a near fall. Finn hit a Clothesline and then hobbled up to the top rope. Rush crotched Balor on the top turnbuckle and followed it up with a Frankensteiner for a two count. Finn battled back with a Suplex and then the Coup de Grace for the pinfall victory.

Reigns & Rollins Saved Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose interrupted Elias and challenged Drew McIntyre to a rematch. Ambrose then planted Elias with Dirty Deeds. Later on RAW, Ambrose battled McIntyre in a No DQ match.

Elias interfered in the match and hit Ambrose with a guitar. McIntyre then leveled Ambrose with the Claymore Kick for the victory. After the match, Corbin and Lashley came down to the ring to beat down Ambrose some more.

Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns came down to the ring for the save. Reigns hit a few Superman Punches as Seth connected with The Stomp on Elias. Roman then geared up in the corner and leveled McIntyre with a Spear. Rollins and Reigns shared another hug before heading backstage.

Roman’s announcement that his leukemia was in remission was a tremendous moment at the start of RAW. It was great that he got to cap that off with a couple of Superman Punches and a Spear later on the show.

Batista Sent A Message To Triple H

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon came down to the ring to celebrate Ric Flair’s 70th birthday. The RAW locker room came down to the entrance ramp as Shawn Michaels, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Kurt Angle, and Sting joined Triple H and Stephanie in the ring.

https://twitter.com/totaldivaseps/status/1100243146108297218

Stephanie unveiled a custom World Heavyweight Championship belt before Triple H introduced Ric Flair. Ric didn’t make his way down the entrance ramp and the cameras went backstage. Batista was shown entering Ric Flair’s dressing room and then dragged Flair out. Batista asked Triple H if he had his attention now and stared into the camera. Triple H sprinted backstage and checked on Flair as RAW went off the air.

It is looking like we are going to see Triple versus Batista at WrestleMania and I’m all for that. I’ve always enjoyed Batista as a heel and this storyline should be great. Overall, this week’s episode of RAW was very entertaining and full of surprises. WrestleMania season is here and it should make for some interesting episodes of RAW and SmackDown in the upcoming weeks.

Batista Returns On WWE RAW, Attacks Ric Flair (Video)

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Batista has made his return to the flagship show of the WWE, Monday Night RAW. During Monday’s episode of the red branded show, the pro wrestling veteran made an appearance for the birthday celebration of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.

This is where Flair was about to walk out to the ring for his celebration but we see Batista dragging a cameraman to the locker room of Flair and he pulled out the pro wrestling legendary who had been attacked. He asked Triple H if he got his attention and then left. This closed the show.

For months, there’s been rumors about Batista taking on Triple H at WrestleMania 35, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 7th in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium.

Evolution, which is a group that consists of Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton, and Flair, reunited on WWE SmackDown 1000 back in October. This marked the latest appearance by the former WWE Champion on WWE television. Batista would later praise Orton and Flair but stated that when it comes to Triple H, he might run the business and has done it all but has never beaten him. Batista and Triple H had a stare down then hugged to close the segment.

This has led to a lot of speculation that this segment was done in order to set up a match between the two future WWE Hall of Famers at Mania. It appears that this is indeed the direction that WWE is going.

Sting, Shawn Michaels Among Stars Appear For Ric Flair’s Birthday Celebration

WWE held a birthday celebration for WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair on Monday’s episode of RAW in Atlanta, GA at the State Farm Arena.

There were several notable names that made an appearance on this show for the segment. Those names include Shawn Michaels, Sting, Ricky Steamboat, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Kurt Angle, and Batista.

It all started with McMahon and Triple H walking out to the ring that had a cake and balloons where they would introduce guests as well as Flair. A video package aired to show some of the biggest moments from his legendary career in the pro wrestling business.

They also created a custom World Title Belt. Just as Flair was about to walk out to the ring for his celebration, we see Batista dragging a cameraman to the locker room of Flair and he pulled out the pro wrestling legendary who had been attacked. He asked Triple H if he got his attention and then left. This closed the show.

Flair was last seen on WWE television when he appeared on the SmackDown 1000th episode for an Evolution appearance back a few months back alongside Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista.

It’s always great to see “The Nature Boy” considering the major health issues that he suffered in August 2017. The most serious complications were kidney failure, necessitating dialysis treatment and ongoing hospitalization. Flair had surgery in Georgia to remove an obstructive piece of his bowel back in December.

Roman Reigns Announces His Leukemia Is In Remission

Former WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns shared some great news during his return to WWE television.

On Monday’s episode of RAW, Reigns announced that his leukemia is back in remission. In his promo, he talked about how was scared and terrified back in October and didn’t know if he wanted to share his diagnosis. He made it known that he hit a home run with his battle and the big dog is back.

Reigns had not been seen on WWE programming since October 22nd during an episode of Monday Night RAW when he, unfortunately, announced that he’s been living with leukemia for 11 years, and unfortunately it was back. Due to this, he was forced to relinquish the WWE Universal Title as he said that needs to focus on his family and his health.

Since then, he has focused on this battle as well as dabbled into acting. He’ll appear in a role as a guest star on Nick’s Cousins For Life show in an episode that will air on Saturday, March 2 at 8:30 p.m. ET.

This isn’t the only acting gig that he has done in recent memory as he’ll appear in the Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw movie alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in order to play the brother of Johnson’s character.

Roman Reigns Told WWE Officials He Didn’t Want Travel To Saudi Arabia For Crown Jewel

It turns out that former WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns didn’t want to travel to Saudi Arabia for the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event last November.

According to Fightful, Reigns had informed Vince McMahon and WWE officials that he didn’t want to return to Saudi Arabia. Keep in mind that Reigns told the WWE Chairman and CEO his opinion prior to him revealing that he had been diagnosed with leukemia.

Once learning of his battle yet again with the disease, Reigns had to relinquish the Universal Title and wasn’t able to face Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman in a triple threat match at this show as originally advertised.

John Cena, Daniel Bryan, and others also refused to perform at the show.

There was some public backlash over WWE’s controversial decision to continue forward with this show even though multiple publications came out and stated otherwise.

After it was reported that the Saudi Arabian government ordered the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, many people thought WWE shouldn’t move forward with the show just weeks after the incident. Despite this heat that WWE received because of their relationship with the Saudi Arabian government, they held the show in the country.

WWE Pokes Fun At Lafayette RAW Crowd In New Video

WWE has posted a video featuring former NFL Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee, who works the NXT Takeover pre-shows as a panelist and is now under contract with the company, poking some fun at the fans who attended last week’s episode of Monday Night RAW.

This topic was the poor crowd who attended the show in Lafayette, LA at the Lafayette Cajundome. Throughout the week, people continued to talk about this crowd for being “dead” when it comes to reactions.

In a rare situation, WWE has actually acknowledged the crowd from the show, which you can see here:

It was an interesting show as it focused on NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Ricochet, and Aleister Black making their debuts on the red brand. It didn’t feature appearances by WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon or former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.

Despite this, the viewership for the show didn’t suffer. The flagship show of the company averaged 2.771 million viewers, up from 2.462 million the previous week.

This was the best viewership of 2019 for the red branded show and highest viewed show since the September 3, 2018 Labor Day episode

Latest On Rumored WrestleMania 36 Location

Speculation about the location for WrestleMania 36 is intensifying as it does on the road to WrestleMania every year.

The latest update on the location for next year’s event comes from PWInsider. According to the report, the word that has been making the rounds behind the scenes is that the show will be held in Tampa, Florida at Raymond James Stadium. This is the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

As of this writing, WWE has yet to confirm this location for the biggest event of the year for the company. In previous years, WrestleMania’s location is usually announced a year in advance. Thus, we should get an official announcement in the next month. It should be noted that Tampa has the primary location that has been mentioned of late at WWE events.

If this is the location for WrestleMania in 2020 then it would fourth time in 12 years that the state of Florida hosts Mania.

WrestleMania 24 took place in 2008 at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, which featured the final match for WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair under the WWE banner. WrestleMania 28 took place in 2012 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami that saw the first battle between The Rock and John Cena.

Finally, WrestleMania 33 took place in 2017 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando and featured the return of The Hardy Boyz.
