Hart Foundation Announced For WWE Hall of Fame

WWE has just confirmed the Hart Foundation as the latest inductees into the WWE Hall of Fame. There had been reports in recent months the Hart Foundation would be inducted this year but WWE just made the news official earlier today.

“Bret “Hit Man” Hart & the late Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart symbolized tag team excellence in WWE in the 1980s and early 1990s,” a WWE press release reads.

Bret Hart commented on the news of the Hart Foundation joining the WWE Hall of Fame this year.

The Hart Foundation

Both Hart and Neidhart joined WWE in 1984. Vince McMahon had just purchased Stu Hart’s Stampede Wrestling territory at the time. WWE chose to bring in 4 of the promotion’s top stars. Those wrestlers happened to be the Dynamite Kid, Davey Boy Smith, Bret “Hitman” Hart, and Jim “the Anvil” Neidhart.

Other mainstays in Stampede Wrestling, such as the Honky Tonk Man (Honky Tonk Wayne) and Bad News Brown (Bad News Allen), would also end up in WWE after the company purchased Stampede Wrestling. The Hart Foundation and the Bulldogs rivalry in the mid-80s would then launch each team into the spotlight.

From 1985 to 1991, the Hart Foundation won the WWF tag team titles twice. Their 483 combined days as champions is good enough for 3rd all-time in the title’s lineage.

Mr. Anderson Labels David Arquette ‘The Guy Who Killed WCW’

Nearly 20 years ago, actor David Arquette was crowned WCW World Heavyweight Champion. The move was, obviously, a controversial one. To put such a coveted title on an actor with no prior professional wrestling experience was essentially a slap in the face to the title’s lineage. Arquette earned his claim to fame in the professional wrestling community when he co-starred in the film, ‘Ready To Rumble.’

The film revolved around a former WCW Champion attempting to return to his former glory with the help of two fans, one of them played by Arquette. After the film, WCW decided to bring in Arquette for some storylines, which eventually led to his World Title win. Just several months later, the promotion folded and was purchased by Vince McMahon.

Now, after all this time, Arquette has returned to professional wrestling in an attempt to legitimize his career and ease the blow his World Title win had on his reputation within the community. Arquette has worked several independent shows and continues to appear at wrestling events around the country. One of them being the upcoming ‘Legends of Wrestling‘ event, which will also feature names like Ric Flair, Bret Hart, Booker T, and “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan.

One man who will also be at the event is former WWE star, Mr. Anderson. He decided to take a shot at Arquette while promoting his appearance on Twitter, calling him “the guy who killed WCW”:

Arquette responded with a few jabs at Anderson, mocking his TNA run before suggesting he’s piggybacking him at appearances:

Do you think Arquette and his World Title reign killed WCW?

On Monday, WWE confirmed that for the first time ever, women will main event a WrestleMania. They did so with this post on Twitter:

WWE Reportedly Not Interested In Bringing Back Alberto Del Rio

Despite his recent comments, it doesn’t sound like the WWE is interested in bringing back Alberto Del Rio. The former WWE Champion spoke to Contralona TV and revealed he recently apologized to Triple H and mended fences with WWE. Upon that news, many believed this could signal a return to the company for the Mexican star. Here’s what he had to say:

“Now everything is normal with them, I apologized and shook hands, even with Mr. Levesque, with whom I do not agree on many things, especially how things ended and how they were done [when he was fired in 2014], but I should never have crossed the line and disrespect him.

“A man can only be called a man by admitting his mistakes. I lived a very difficult stage in my life: one year and two months in which I had to win the most difficult battle of my life that was against myself.”

However, Fightful reports that such a reunion is unlikely. The report notes that Del Rio left a very poor impression on talent, staff, and management alike due to his no-show issues last year. Also, WWE wouldn’t want to make Paige uncomfortable, who the company holds in high regard. The company doesn’t have a clear plan for Paige yet, and the status of her friendship or relationship with Del Rio is unknown.

It was also stressed that neither Paige or anyone else is actively campaigning against a Del Rio return. It’s simply a matter of the negative possibilities outweighing the positive ones. With that being said, there seems to be no plans to bring Del Rio back, or even any interest in the idea at the moment.

Do you think WWE would ever consider bringing back Del Rio to the company?

Headbangers Talk AEW, Tag Team Wrestling, & WWE HOF

Mosh and Thrasher, the Headbangers, are former WWE tag team champions but they don’t see themselves as going into the WWE Hall of Fame anytime soon. The long-time tag team partners recently spoke with journalist Chris Van Vliet about tag team wrestling and if they think the Headbangers are worth of going in the WWE Hall of Fame.

“No, I honestly don’t think we should,” Mosh said when asked about going into the WW Hall of Fame. “We had a great run, yeah we were there for a long time and we had two title reigns one as WWF tag champs and one as NWA world tag champs but we didn’t do that much. There are other teams out there who I think are more deserving than we are at this point.”

Mosh and Thrasher worked as a tag team in WWE from 1994 to 2000. They then reunited outside WWE in 2011. The Headbangers briefly returned to Smackdown in 2016. When they got the call to return 3 years ago, they apparently thought it was a joke.

“I actually got a text from Road Dogg and I thought it was a joke,” Mosh continued. “So the text came from him and I actually called him back and I was like ‘Brian?’ I needed to confirm it was him and it was him, it was Road Dogg.”

The pair also spoke about the state of tag team wrestling and what AEW means for the industry.

“Look at Cody Rhodes background and look at The Young Bucks background,” Thrasher said. “They’re going to be successful. Why do you like Pepsi? Because you don’t like Coke. So why do you like AEW? Because you don’t like WWE.”

WWE Raw Preview (3/25/19): Will Roman Reigns Accept Drew McIntyre’s Challenge?

Tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw takes place from the TD Garden Arena in Boston, Massachusetts. The show is hot as it’s just two weeks remaining from WrestleMania.

Fight or flight

-WWE is mainly advertising a segment where Roman Reigns will reply to the challenge issued by Drew McIntyre. McIntyre issued a challenge for Reigns for a WrestleMania match last week and attacked the Shield. Will The Scottish Psychopath get a match with The Big Dog at the Grandest Stage of Them All?

The Phoenix Saga

-Returned Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix challenged the Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Bayley to a match at WrestleMania 35. But it’s not so simple as there is already a line of challengers. Nia Jax and Tamina attacked everyone, and The IIconics pinned the champs on SmackDown. What match will end up at the WrestleMania card?

The farewell tour continues

-Kurt Angle’s farewell tour will continue and he will face another opponent tonight and also face this top star tomorrow on SmackDown Live.

Family affair

-Ronda Rousey and her husband Travis Browne caused a ruckus when they both attacked security squad members last week. Rousey was hit with a fine of an undisclosed amount, but tonight we’ll find out if there are any more repurcussions for her.

One “Giant” leap

-Braun Strowman officially became the first entrant into the sixth Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal this past week on Raw. A few more superstars will announce their participation in the battle royal tonight. Who’s ready to step in the ring with the giant?

It’s been one week

-Alexa Bliss inserted herself during the drama between Strowman and “Saturday Night Live’s” Colin Jost and Michael Che during The Show of Shows. Bliss asked for a one-week armistice between The Monster Among Men and the “Weekend Update” anchors, who are also going to serve as WrestleMania’s Special Guest Correspondents.

Strowman agreed to give Bliss the time to broker peace, but for how long will he wait?

Kurt Angle To Face AJ Styles In SmackDown Match

Kurt Angle is going to face AJ Styles this Tuesday in what will be his last ever match on SmackDown, WWE announced on Sunday.

Despite sharing a long history of matches, this will be the first time that Angle and Styles would face each other in WWE.

On March 11, Angle made the announcement that he would be competing in his final match at WrestleMania 35. He has been having matches since then every week on Raw as part of his farewell tour, facing the likes of Apollo Crews and Chad Gable.

The two were involved in literally a 100 matches during their time in the TNA. They faced each other for the last time in July of 2013 at the TNA BaseBrawl house show, where Angle defeated Styles. Will the SD Live match have the same outcome?

AJ Styles actually commented on his upcoming match with Angle during a Live Event in Buffalo yesterday. He said that he expects the Olympic Gold Medalist to tear the house down in his final match on the blue brand.

“Mohegan Sun Arena… Tuesday night SmackDown Live! Kurt Angle’s last match… at least for SmackDown that is. Against AJ Styles. We’ve got history, Kurt. Great matches. So we get to end this one in a WWE ring. I’m looking forward to it. You know of the respect that I have for you… But I’m not gonna make this easy on you Kurt. I expect you to bring it. Just tear the house down.”

Nikki Bella Announces She’s Retiring From Wrestling

On the season finale of Total Bellas this past Sunday evening, Nikki Bella announced that she has decided to retire from the ring for good.

While on the topic of 2018’s European tour that Nikki wrestled in, she made the announcement that she will be hanging up her boots. “The tour was good but I just feel like I’m too old for that travel,” Nikki told her family and friends during a dinner. “The travel was really, really rough. So I realized and I was like, ‘Why am I doing this?’ I don’t feel good, and I can’t – The girls are doing amazing things over there. I really am ready to hang up the jersey.”

Nikki noted that while on the European tour she realized her body and her mind can’t keep up with the schedule of a wrestler.

“Being on the European tour, I’ve had a lot of time to think. Just how my body feels, being away from my companies, how time consuming this is. It’s making me realize I’m ready to fold the jersey and put it away. I’m ready to put the kicks aside and I’m ready to take Nikki Bella into a different direction.”

Nikki Bella’s last match was against Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s Title at a House Show in Italy which took place during the WWE European tour on November 9, 2018.

Nikki’s announcement comes just shortly after her sister Brie’s retirement announcement, which she made on March 10 episode of the show.

So what is next for The Bella Twins? Well they have announced that they will be starting their own podcast, named simply “The Bellas Podcast.”

Seth Rollins Looking To Change The World At WrestleMania 35 Against Brock Lesnar

Former WWE Champion Seth Rollins has one of the biggest matches of his career in front of him. He’s looking to reclaim the right to call himself the top star on the Monday Night RAW brand and must get past Brock Lesnar in order to do so.

WWE has already confirmed that he’ll challenge Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35. They actually have history at this event and wrestled a singles match back at WWE Battleground 2015.

If you recall, back in 2015 at WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara, California at Levi’s Stadium, Lesnar was wrestling Roman Reigns in the main event. This was when Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase during the match that allowed him to win the WWE Title.

Rollins took to his official Twitter account over the weekend to express his focus as he wrote the following:

“I’ll be in Boston signing at @HotRodShows from 12-2ish tomorrow! Then Monday it’s #Raw at @tdgarden. With Mania only two weeks out, I’ve never been more focused or prepared in my life. I’m ready to change the world, again.”

WWE presents the WrestleMania 35 pay-per-view event on Sunday, April 7, 2019, in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium that will air on the WWE Network.

Daniel Cormier Teases Possibly Interfering In WWE Universal Title At WrestleMania 35

UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier has teased making an appearance at WrestleMania 35 next month. He did so after Saturday’s UFC Nashville event where he did color commentary. After the event had ended, he talked with ESPN where he teased possibly appearing at the show.

WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar is slated to make his next title defense against Seth Rollins at this show. The UFC has been trying to make a fight between Lesnar and Cormier inside of the Octagon since last July.

For Cormier, who wants this fight to happen, he thinks to cost Lesnar the title might speed up the process of this fight getting done.

“I don’t have a fight exactly scheduled yet, but I’ve got my eyes on Brock Lesnar,” Cormier told ESPN (H/T to Damon Martin of MMANews). “I may go to WWE’s Wrestlemania, and I may go cost him his title over there so he can hurry up and get to the UFC so I can beat him here.”

In the main event of the UFC 226 pay-per-view event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada last year, Cormier was able to score a KO win over Stipe Miocic to win the UFC heavyweight title. Then, things got out of hand. Cormier invited Lesnar inside the Octagon with Lesnar accepting the invitation and shoving Cormier in the process. Lesnar then cut a promo on the heavyweight division and Cormier.

Rush Vs Dalton Castle Added To G1 Supercard

When Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling present the G1 Supercard from Madison Square Garden, Rush will go up against a former ROH World Champion. ROH recently added Dalton Castle vs Rush to the G1 Supercard lineup.

Castle was on commentary for Rush’s match against Bandido at the 17th Anniversary PPV earlier this month. The former ROH World Champion cut a post-match promo directed towards Rush after the match.

“I look at you and I see a challenge,” Castle said. “I see someone I want to smash heads with.”

Rush then gestured as if he would accept the challenge. ROH has since made the match official for April 6th.

Rush vs Dalton Castle – G1 Supercard of Honor

Castle and Rush have been on different trajectories as of late. Rush has been undefeated since signing with ROH earlier this year. Meanwhile, Castle has been on a losing streak which has seen him grow visibly frustrated with his boys. A win over Rush might be what Castle needs to get out his slump, however.

“The top stars of Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro-Wrestling converge on Madison Square Garden in New York City on April 6 for the historic G1 Supercard. Under the bright lights and on the grand stage of “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” the best of the best in pro wrestling will do battle.”

It was wrestling night at the Memphis Grizzlies game last night. As such, Jerry Lawler and some other wrestling personalities were in attendance. Lawler paid tribute to his son, Brian Christopher, during the show. Along with Rikishi and the Grizzlies mascot, Lawler did the Too Cool dance at center court.

Lawler, Rikishi, and the mascot dancing was caught on the big screen by a fan in attendnace who then posted it to YouTube.

There was a match for Grizzlies wrestling night as well. Buff Bagwell and Jerry Lawler have been feuding at the games recently. Last night, Bagwell brought in the Steiner brothers as backup and Lawler brought in Rikishi.

The match can be watched in the player below:

Lawler Family Investigation In Brian Christopher’s Death

Brian Christopher died on July 29th, 2018 at the age of 46. The official cause of his death has been ruled a suicide after he was found hanging in his cell at Hardeman County Jail. Christopher had been housed at the center since a DUI arrest weeks earlier.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has launched an official investigation into the cause of Christopher’s death, however. Lawler has said the following in regards to his belief regarding the cause of his son’s death.

“It just doesn’t pass the smell test,” Lawler said just weeks after Brian’s passing. “We’ve received literally countless calls, text messages from people, actual eyewitnesses, that were in the jail and saw things that happened on the actual day that Brian died that now has opened up a new can of worms,” he continued. “It just doesn’t seem like it was suicide.”

Kofi Kingston: WWE’s Established Stars Still Have A Lot More To Offer

WWE has a lot of talent coming in from different backgrounds and styles and the roster is full of newcomers impressing the audience with their skills.

Kofi Kingston, an eleven-year WWE vet, gave his thoughts on this wave of newcomers in the company and said that the old-timers still have a lot they can give to the fans.

Speaking to The Independent, Kofi said, “AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton… you forget how long they’ve been doing this for.”

“I don’t think there’s a person watching them that would say ‘they need to hang up their boots’ – they’ve got a lot more gas left in the tank.

“That’s just a testament to how good they are, and how good they’ve been over time.”

Kofi was asked who he would like to see given a chance to shine in the company. He said, “There are a lot.I am happy to see Apollo Crews getting some time [on television]; he had a real good match with Kurt Angle on Raw last week. He is super athletic and super talented, so for him to get a chance to shine is awesome.

“I’ve always said that 205 Live [one of WWE’s other weekly programmes] is one of the best-kept secrets in WWE.If you watch that show, and see the quality and calibre of athletes on that show; it’s amazing, the things they can do and the stories they can tell in the ring.

“There’s a lot of talent out there, man. It’s tough because, oftentimes, not all of that talent can’t get used, so I’m always happy to see guys that don’t get used a lot, get used and get a chance to really show their abilities on television.”

Kofi Kingston has been the center of attention because of his championship pursuits the past few weeks. On the last episode of SmackDown, Kofi was asked to defeat Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Cesaro, Sheamus, and Rowan in a gauntlet match to receive a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 35. Kofi won the match, but was screwed over by Mr. McMahon who then forced him to also face WWE Champion Daniel Bryan. An exhausted Kofi was unable to win against Bryan.

Young Bucks’ AAA Tag Titles Will Be On The Line At Double Or Nothing

The Young Bucks have announced that they will put the AAA tag team championships on the line when they face Pentagon and Fenix at Double or Nothing. They officially made their match at the PPV for the titles earlier today in Chicago at the C2E2 Comic and Entertainment Festival.

“Here’s a spoiler alert, we’re wrestling the Lucha Brothers and we’re going to kick their a$$,” Matt Jackson said.

“I’ll spoil something,” Nick Jackson added. “How about we put those AAA titles on the line?”

Along with Kenny Omega, they then agreed to officially make Lucha Bros vs Young Bucks for the AAA titles at Double or Nothing. The Bucks just defeated the Lucha Bros for those belts at AAA’s Rey de Reyes event.

Impact World Title Match Announced For Rebellion PPV

Impact Wrestling will present Rebellion from Toronto’s Rebel Nightclub on April 28th. The venue is where the promotion hosted Slammiversary last year.

Last night on Impact Wrestling, the promotion confirmed that Johnny Impact will once again look to defend his World Championship against Brian Cage. They will meet one-on-one at Rebellion.

A second title match between was scheduled for last week on Impact but never materialized. Killer Kross came out with a seemingly lifeless Johnny Impact draped over his shoulder before the match could begin. This was all a swerve to get Cage to reach, however, and when he did, Impact took him out of action with a cinder block.

In the meantime, Cage will look to get his revenge on Killer Kross next week in single’s action.

Johnny Impact vs Brian Cage – Impact World Championship – Rebellion PPV 4/28

Provided they don’t face each between now and then, Rebellion will be the 6th time the two have faced each other in single’s action.

The first occurred for Wrestle Circus on April 30th, 2017. Cage defeated “Johnny Mundo” to retain the WC Ringmaster Title. John Morrison then defeated Cage less than 2 months later at an AAW show just outside Chicago. Johnny then improved his record to 2-1 against Cage with the PCW title on the line that October. In

2018, Impact defeated Cage for the WSW Heavyweight title in Australia. Impact then improved his record to 4-1 against Cage by defeating him at Impact Wrestling Homecoming on 1/6 this year.

Madman Fulton Debuts For Impact Wrestling

Last night on Impact Wrestling, Sawyer “Madman” Fulton became the newest member of Sami Callihan’s OVE stable. The 28-year-old from Toledo, Ohio is formerly of WWE’s Sanity stable and also competed with Callihan in MLW’s War Games match last year.

Fulton is now going under the name Madman Fulton.

Listed at 6ft 8 and over 300lbs, Fulton helped Callihan beatdown both X-Division champion, Rich Swann, and Willie Mack last night to close the show. Swann had just defeated Callihan in a match for the X-Division championship. Mack had previously taken out the other members of OVE in the back to prevent their interference in the night’s main event.

Video of Fulton making his debut and attacking Rich Swann can be seen in the player below:

Fulton spent nearly 5 years in WWE developmental from 2012 to 2017. He was briefly in a team with Angelo Dawkins of the Street Profits before being partnered with Alexander Wolfe in 2016. Wolfe and Fulton would then join Eric Young’s Sanity faction later that year.

In late 2016, Fulton was replaced in Sanity by Killian Dain. No on-screen explanation was given for Fulton’s departure. WWE released him the following year.

In 2018, Fulton began appearing for Major League Wrestling. He was a member of Sami Callihan’s Death Machines stable which lost at MLW: War Games in September.
