Charlotte Flair Spotted Wearing New Ring, Her & Andrade Reportedly Getting Serious

Andrade and Charlotte Flair made their relationship official on the Hall of Fame red carpet earlier this month. While each had hinted at the relationship through their social media accounts, they heralded the Hall of Fame as their coming out party as a couple.

Now it appears, the relationship between the Los Ingobernables founding member and the WrestleMania 35 main-eventer may have taken another step. Flair has been spotted wearing a new diamond ring since WrestleMania weekend.

The relationship is getting serious quickly, however, Charlotte has stated publicly that they are not currently engaged.

Charlotte Flair & Andrade

As an 8x world champion, Charlotte Flair is halfway to tying her father’s record of 16 world title reigns. Should her and Andrade get married, she would then be 60% of the way to equalling her father’s all-time tally for marriages as well.

Charlotte has been married twice previously and her father is currently on his fifth wife, Wendy Barlow.

Tama Tonga Cuts A Promo On Enzo Amore (Video)

Tama Tonga took to his Facebook page recently to cut a promo on Enzo Amore. The Guerillas of Destiny had just won both the ROH and IWGP heavyweight tag team champions at the G1 Supercard in Madison Square Garden when Enzo and Cass invaded the show.

Tonga’s promo can be viewed below:

https://www.facebook.com/OfficialTamaTonga/videos/vb.1759223717739075/2418484018380298/?type=2&theater

“I’ll just address you straight up, you don’t need to call out the whole locker room,” Tonga said. “It was me. It was f***** me.”

“You want to know why we ain’t letting you in?” Tonga continued. “Because you’re cancer. We don’t want that to spread in our workplace.”

“You talk about bringing in money? No, we’re talking about you killing our business.”

Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa – Double Tag Team Champions

Tama and his brothers, Tanga Loa and HIKULEO, had a chance to add the NEVER 6-Man tag team titles to their list of accolades earlier this week. They were defeated by the team of Togi Makabe, Ryusuke Taguchi, and Toru Yano, however.

The Guerillas of Destiny has two upcoming tag title matches. They will defend the IWGP heavyweight tag titles against Yano and Makabe at Wrestling Hi no Kuni 2019 in Kumamoto on April 29th. Then in ROH, the GoD will defend those titles against Jonathan Gresham and Jay Lethal on May 8th in Buffalo.

Daniel Bryan Injury Update

Daniel Bryan remains out of action. The former WWE Champion has not appeared on television since his loss to Kofi Kingston at WrestleMania.

Bryan was not backstage at SmackDown this week. According to PWInsider, he has not been backstage since WrestleMania. There have been reports that he is injured, but he nor WWE have addressed the situation publicly.

Daniel Bryan Injury Being Kept A Secret

It was reported last week that those in the know regarding the situation are doing their best to keep information from leaking. Considering Bryan’s past history with head injuries, the secrecy surrounding his current injury has led some to speculate his injury could be concussion-related. That is only speculation, however.

Bryan was pulled from live events this weekend. He had been scheduled to appear on Smackdown last night at one point as well but was not backstage and did not appear on the show.

Daniel Bryan Not Allowed To Talk About The Environment

Daniel Bryan told the Cheap Heat podcast before WrestleMania that WWE was no longer allowing him to talk about environmental issues as part of his character.

“There’s a lot of things that I’m not allowed to talk about on television and it’s weird because if you noticed the last several months, I haven’t said much about the environment because they have told me I’m no longer allowed to talk about the environment,” Bryan said on the show. “Why? Because they say that the environment is a political issue. You know what? The environment is not a political issue, it’s a scientific issue and saying it’s a political issue makes it stupid. What an idiotic idea!”

Kenta Kobashi Appearing At Starrcast II

Japanese wrestling legend Kenta Kobashi is the latest high-profile star announced for next month’s Starrcast II convention from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Kobashi is widely considered one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. Throughout his career, Kobashi won countless championship awards during his time in All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) and Pro Wrestling Noah.

Kobashi has been awarded Match of the Year honors on multiple occasions by Tokyo Sports and Nikkan Sports. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has given his matches a “5-star” rating 23 times, the second-most ever (behind Mitsuharu Misawa’s 25).

The news of Kobashi’s appearance comes on the heels of The Undertaker and Kurt Angle pulling out of the convention. According to Conrad Thompson, it was WWE Chairman Vince McMahon who forced them to withdraw.

Conrad says tried to get Vince McMahon, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon or Shawn Michaels to appear instead. He offered to donate proceeds to the Conor’s Cure charity, but WWE declined.

In addition to Kobashi and the stars of All Elite Wrestling, other legends signed to appear at Starrcast II include Sting, Bret Hart, Scott Hall & Kevin Nash, Jim Ross, Eric Bischoff, Bruce Prichard, Tony Schiavone and many more.

Starrcast II takes place during AEW: Double or Nothing weekend (May 23-26). For more information, visit Starrcast.com and FITE.TV to stream.

Kevin Owens Turns On New Day, Attacks Kofi Kingston

Last night on Smackdown, Kevin Owens (aka “Big O”) turned on Kofi Kingston in the closing moments of the show. Kingston had just won a non-title match against Shinsuke Nakamura via DQ when the attack occurred.

Nakamura had taken out Xavier Woods on the outside, leaving Kofi on his own in the ring with KO. Owens then delivered a super-kick to Kofi. Woods would eventually prevent Owens from power-bombing Kingston on the ring apron but then ended up taking the move himself.

Kevin Owens Attacks Kofi Kingston on Smackdown

Owens has yet to comment on his actions from last night. He did, however, post the following to his Twitter page shortly after Smackdown ended:

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston has yet to comment on the incident. Just hours before Smackdown, Kingston was preoccupied with helping to promote the new season of Cobra Kai.

Writer Who Quit During WWE HOF Announces Return To Wrestling

RD Evans, the WWE writer who quit during the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, has announced he is returning to the ring. Evans had previously competed for ROH and Chikara before joining the WWE creative team in 2016.

He posted a video to his social media accounts recently which appears to show his version of events following the Hall of Fame ceremony:

RD “Quitman” Evans Returning To Wrestling

In the video, Evans realizes he can’t say Vince McMahon’s name in his real-life without it being bleeped out. He then holds up a sign saying he is willing to wrestle for food. After re-thinking it, however, he changes his mind and says he is only willing to wrestle Orange Cassidy for food.

Evans previously released the following official statement regarding his departure from WWE:

RD Evans Pre-WWE Career

Evans is originally from Winnipeg, the same hometown as Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, Don Callis, and Rosemary. Roddy Piper was also raised in the city and Tom Magee (of WWE Hidden Gems fame) was also from Winnipeg.

Evans moved to Texas and trained with Skandor Akbar in the early 2000s. In 2010, Evans was picked up by Ring of Honor where he became a member of Prince Nana’s Embassy stable. From there, Evans would end up managing future NXT Champion, Tommaso Ciampa.

His final storyline in ROH was in 2014 when he entered a program with Moose and his manager, Veda Scott. The program concluded with Moose defeating Evans on the Final Battle 2014 PPV.

Evans also wrestled under the name Archibald Peck in Chikara for several years before signing with WWE.

RD Evans as a Bear Vs Tracy Smothers

Evans’ last official match on record was for Olde Wrestling in 2015. He wrestled Tracy Smothers on a show titled  “Olde Wrestling: Yet Another Extravaganza Of Wrestling Exhibitions.”

Evans was portraying the gimmick of an un-muzzled bear wrestling Smothers. The match can be seen below:

Needless to say, RD Evans has a unique approach to pro-wrestling.

Darren Young Claims That His WWE Release Broke Him

Former WWE Superstar Darren Young recently had an interview with WrestlingInc where he talked about his past and future among other things.

While discussing his release from the promotion, Young claimed that his release from the company broke him but time has since then opened his eyes and now he has a laser-like focus:

“When I got released from WWE in 2017 it broke me, 2018 opened my eyes, and 2019 I had laser-like focus, just like I had when I was chasing the dream of becoming a WWE Superstar. I’ve been out here in LA taking acting classes, trying to do whatever I have to do to be seen on the big screen.”

Continuing on the topic, Young claimed that his story is very unique. It’s very important that he is able to share his story with the world and it’s very important that people can get helped by hearing it.

Interestingly, Darren also talked about recent reports suggesting that Marvel is planning to introduce a gay superhero in MCU. He said that there is nobody who represents the community more than him and revealed that he has been putting the feeder out there.

Would you like to see Darren Young becoming the first gay superhero of MCU? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

Roman Reigns Wrestles After SmackDown, Charlotte Flair On Her Title Shot

Roman Reigns Wrestles Former World Champion After SmackDown

The dark main event after this week’s episode of SmackDown Live went off air saw Roman Reigns competing in a match against former World Champion Randy Orton.

These two wrestled for a while until Elias interrupted the bout in Orton’s favor. He caused a disqualification and the two then started to beat down the Big Dog.

Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor then made the save and the babyfaces cleared the ring to end the segment and send the crowd home happy.

Charlotte Flair On Her Title Shot

This week’s episode of Smackdown Live saw Charlotte Flair defeating Bayley in a one on one bout to earn an opportunity to challenge for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Flair was interviewed backstage after the victory where she talked about her loss at WrestleMania. The former Champion claimed that in her eyes, she didn’t lose because she didn’t get pinned or tapped out:

Charlotte Flair will now challenge Becky Lynch for the SmackDown Women’s title at the upcoming Money In The Bank event.

As we noted before, Lynch will be pulling double duty at the show and also defend the Raw Women’s Championship against Lacey Evans at the PPV.

4 Takeaways From WWE SmackDown (4/23)

The April 23, 2019 episode of WWE SmackDown aired live from the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, NE. Here are 4 takeaways from this week’s show:

Shane McMahon & Elias Got Revenge On Roman Reigns

SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon came down to the ring to start off this week’s show. Shane told Greg Hamilton to introduce him again as the best in the world before carrying on with the promo. Shane stated that he was out here to talk about Roman Reigns’ actions last week on SmackDown.

Shane rolled the footage of Reigns hitting Vince McMahon with a Superman Punch last week. McMahon then scolded Roman for hitting another man’s father and called Vince a national treasure.

Shane ordered that Roman Reigns come down to the ring right now to face the repercussions for his actions. Reigns got in the ring and dropped the microphone. Shane dropped his microphone as Elias snuck up behind Reigns. Roman knocked Elias off the apron and Shane attacked him from behind. Elias and Shane beatdown Roman as the crowd booed. Elias planted Reigns with the Drift Away to end the segment.

Later on the show, Elias challenged Roman Reigns to a match at Money in the Bank. Roman Reigns accepted the challenge and vowed to break Elias’ jaw at the PPV.

The only entertaining part of this segment was Shane McMahon accidentally saying “Rount Mushmore”. I’m not at all interested in a storyline between Roman Reigns, Elias, and the McMahons.

Kairi Sane Won Her First Singles Match On SmackDown

Kairi Sane battled Peyton Royce tonight on SmackDown. Paige, Asuka, and Billie Kay were ringside for the match. Royce started out the match in control and beat Sane down int he corner of the ring.

Sane battled back with a Dragon Screw and then a Neckbreaker. Kairi followed that up with a terrible looking Interceptor Spear and then the sliding elbow. Kairi made her way to the top rope and hit the Insane Elbow for the pinfall victory. After the match, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville came down to the entrance ramp. Rose and Deville confronted Paige about not reuniting Absolution during a backstage segment aired earlier in the show.

Billie Kay and Peyton Royce continue to lose matches in under a minute, even though they captured the Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania. Thus, The IIconics are doing absolutely nothing for the titles and this is just a giant waste of time until they drop them.

Charlotte Earned Another Title Shot

Charlotte Flair stated that Becky Lynch won both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championships at WrestleMania by pinning Ronda Rousey. Flair added that Ronda Rousey lost her title and that Becky did not defeat her to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Becky Lynch interrupted and said that she has lost count of how many times she has beaten Charlotte Flair. Charlotte claimed that she was in Becky’s head because she brings her up on Twitter and in her feud against Lacey Evans on RAW. Charlotte added that she has nothing to lose and claimed that she was next in line.

Lynch stated that Charlotte needs to get out of the way for new challengers like Bayley, Mickie James, and Ember Moon. Bayley joined the party and said that the Superstar Shake-Up is supposed to be about fresh starts, all she sees is a rerun. Bayley pointed out that Becky Lynch has never beaten her in her career. Bayley challenged Charlotte Flair to a match to see who deserves a title shot.

Charlotte then battled Bayley and the winner of the match will earn a future title shot. Bayley controlled the match early and knocked Charlotte to the outside. Back in the ring, Bayley connected with a Clothesline but Flair shrugged it off and hit a Neckbreaker.

Flair slapped Bayley in the face and then hit her with an elbow. Bayley responded with a roll-up for a two count and then a Crossbody for another near fall. Flair went to work on Bayley’s left knee and posed for the crowd as SmackDown went to a break.

When SmackDown returned, Charlotte climbed to the top rope and went for a Moonsault but Bayley got out of the way. Bayley hit a Belly to Back Suplex and went for the cover but Flair kicked out at two. Bayley then hit a Sunset Flip Powerbomb and Flair’s head bounced off the bottom turnbuckle.

Bayley went for the cover but Flair somehow kicked out at two. Bayley stumbled her way to the top turnbuckle but Flair quickly knocked her to the canvas. Flair went for the Figure Four but Bayley countered into a roll-up for a near fall. Charlotte then hit the Spear for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Becky Lynch was interviewed backstage. Becky stated that she will have Lacey Evans tapping before she can get her gloves off and everyone knows that she can defeat Charlotte Flair. Lynch vowed to defeat both Flair and Lacey Evans at Money in the Bank.

I enjoyed Bayley’s promo tonight and she had a decent match against Charlotte. I find it hard to believe that Lynch is going to walk out of Money in the Bank with both titles. The most obvious thing would be for Lynch to defeat Lacey Evans, and then lose to Charlotte at Money in the Bank.

Kevin Owens Betrayed New Day

Shinsuke Nakamura squared off against WWE Champion Kofi Kingston in the main event of this week’s SmackDown. Xavier Woods and Kevins Owens joined commentary as Rusev and Lana were ringside for the match.

Kofi controlled the match early and knocked Nakamura out of the ring with a Dropkick. Shinsuke battled back and locked in an Arm Bar in the middle of the ring. Kingston broke free and made his way to the top rope. Kofi hit Nakamura with a Crossbody for a two count. Nakamura connected with a knee to the back of Kofi’s head as SmackDown went to a commercial break.

When SmackDown returned, Nakamura was still in control of the match. Kofi battled back with a Dropkick and went for a Splash in the corner but Shinsuke got out of the way. Nakamura then hit a snap German Suplex while Kofi was caught up in the ropes.

Nakamura went for the Kinshasa but Kofi countered with a Double Stomp. Kingston followed it up with the SOS and went for the cover but Rusev broke it up. Rusev stomped on Kofi and the match ended in a DQ. Kevin Owens and Woods beat down Rusev as Kingston hit Shinsuke with the Trouble in Paradise.

Kevin Owens then hit Kingston with a Superkick and ripped off his New Day shirt. Owens threw Kofi out of the ring. Owens slammed Kofi into the barricade and then bounced his face off the ring post. Owens rolled Kofi in the ring and shouted that he was going to take the WWE Championship from him. Kingston tried to battle back but Owens stomped on him in the corner of the ring.

Owens threw Kingston back outside the ring and set up for a Powerbomb. Xavier Woods broke it up with a Dropkick through the ropes. Owens then leveled Woods with a Clothesline and Powerbombed him on the ring apron as the crowd chanted “holy sh*t!”.

It was pretty obvious that Owens was going to betray New Day, but this was still an entertaining segment. Owens and Kingston can definitely put on a great WWE Championship match at Money in the Bank and I’m looking forward to the build over the next few weeks.

Braun Strowman Reflects On How He Came Up With His Ring Name

WWE star Braun Strowman did an interview with the Journal Sentinel in Milwaukee where he spoke about a wide range of pro wrestling related topics.

The reason that Strowman was in Milwaukee this past weekend was due to him throwing out the first pitch in the Brewers vs. Dodgers game. WWE also had a loop of live events around the area.

In the interview, Strowman revealed how he came up with his ring name in WWE.

It turns out that he was watching SportsCenter on ESPN and got inspiration for his first name from Ryan Braun. He originally pitched Stowman but WWE changed it to Strowman.

“We were coming down to a time crunch with my new character name, and everything that I had submitted either had legal issues or they didn’t like,” explained Strowman. “Randomly, SportsCenter was on at the WWE Performance Center, and they were talking about Ryan Braun and I was like, ‘Braun…brawn.

That’s got a pretty good ring to it, and it fits me my build and everything. So, I pitched Braun. Originally it was Stoman and then we changed it to Strowman, and here we are. The rest is history. Ryan Braun is a big contributing factor to The Monster Among Men becoming a real-life character.”

Lars then turns his attention to Jinder, and he slides in the ring. Jinder and the Singh Brothers start to flee the ring. Lars grabs one Singh brother and suplexes him down, and then he powerbombs the other Singh brother while Jinder escapes. R-Truth comes out to interrupt and he charges Lars. Truth hits the ring and starts trading punches with Lars now. They brawl all over the ring until Sullivan hits a suplex, and then a running powerbomb.

– We go to Roman Reigns’ locker room for an interview. Reigns says he accepts Elias’ challenge and he’s going to break his jaw.

– Charlotte comes out to the ring, and she’s got a mic. She talks about her WrestleMania loss to Becky Lynch in their triple threat match with Ronda Rousey. Charlotte says she was robbed at WrestleMania, and she wants Becky to come out and explain why she thinks she’s the rightful Champion when she didn’t beat Charlotte. Becky comes out and gets on the mic. She tells Charlotte that it was a winner takes all match, and Charlotte must not have understood what that meant. Becky says she beat the woman Charlotte couldn’t beat – Ronda, and Becky has beaten Charlotte more times than she can count. They continue to talk trash until Bayley comes out to interrupt. Bayley says the Superstar Shakeup was supposed to be a fresh start, but all she sees is a rerun between Charlotte and Becky. Bayley says Becky has never beaten her. Charlotte tells Bayley to get in the back of the line because this is Charlotte’s show. Bayley challenges Charlotte to a match to determine the #1 contender, but Charlotte says she’s not worth her time. Bayley slaps the microphone out of Charlotte’s hand, and it looks like we might have a match now.

Charlotte vs. Bayley: Charlotte starts off strong and backs Bayley into the corner off the opening bell. Charlotte shoves Bayley, and Bayley shoves her back and knocks her down. Charlotte misses a spear and Bayley comes back with a neckbreaker. Charlotte fights back and slams Bayley into the corner. They trade slaps to the face now and Charlotte gets the upper hand and drops Bayley. Bayley rolls up Charlotte for a two count, then hits a springboard cross body for another two count. Bayley hits some strikes in the corner, but Charlotte ducks one and takes out Bayley’s knee. Charlotte starts focusing her offense on Bayley’s knee now, and Bayley rolls out to the apron for a breather. Charlotte looks for the Figure Four, but Bayley fights out and drops her. Both women are down now and Bayley is selling the knee. Charlotte escapes a suplex attempt, then she drops Bayley with a big boot for a two count. Charlotte goes for a moonsault off the top, but Bayley rolls out of he way. Bayley follows up with a German suplex. Bayley hits a sunset flip into the turnbuckle, then pins for a two count. Bayley misses a shot and Charlotte answers with a spear. Charlotte immediately pins for the three count.

Winner: Charlotte

– Charlotte will now receive a shot at Becky’s Championship. We see Becky backstage watching on a monitor. She says she’ll defend her RAW Title against Lacey Evans and her SmackDown Title against Charlotte at Money In The Bank.

– We see Kofi, Xavier and Kevin Owens backstage in front of a table of pancakes. Kofi is warming up for his match against Nakamura up next.

– They air Bray Wyatt’s “firefly fun house” vignette that also aired on RAW. Bray says he can’t wait to show everyone what he learned, and he introduces us to the buzzard box and the witch doll. Bray says he used to be a bad person, but he’s done being that “pathetic slob loser.” Bray takes a chainsaw to a cardboard cutout of himself and cuts it in half.

Kofi Kingston vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: Woods and Owens are at ringside, and Owens does the ring introduction that Big E usually does. Rusev and Lana are at ringside in Nakamura’s corner. The opening bell sounds and Kofi and Nakamura trade strikes evenly in the opening moments. Kofi fires up and hits a cross body off the top on a standing Nakamura for a two count. Kofi connects with a kick, but then he misses a spear and Nakamura answers with a knee drop. Nakamura follows up with kicks and he sends Kofi out to the apron. They fight out to ringside where Nakamura connects with more kicks to the head and upper body. Back in the ring, Nakamura tries to toss Kofi but Kofi lands on his feet. Kofi taunts Nakamura and then clotheslines him. Kofi hits a dropkick, but then he misses a shot in the corner. Nakamura boots Kofi in the head then slams him down on the mat. Nakamura misses a shot and Kofi comes back with a double stomp on Nakamura. Kofi and Nakamura trade kick attempts now but miss all of them. Kofi latches on to Nakamura and hits the SOS. Kofi pins, but then Rusev runs in to break it up, and the ref calls for the DQ.

Former ROH World Heavyweight Champion Jay Lethal did a recent interview with SportsKeeda where he spoke about a wide range of topics including his future in wrestling as it pertains to ROH.

Lethal started out by stating that there is no telling what tomorrow will hold and brought up how he started out by wanting to be a wrestler to just pay the bills and make a living.

“Ring of Honor has provided me with the opportunity to do so. I am extremely thankful for that. They have also given me opportunities that no other wrestling company that I’ve worked for has given me until now have given me. Hopefully, the future holds me doing something with or in Ring of Honor.”

Lethal responded with “no” when asked if he isn’t tempted by offers from an AEW or a WWE.

Lethal dropped the title to Matt Taven who became ROH World Champion when he beat Lethal and Marty Scurll in a triple threat ladder match at the G1 Supercard event earlier this month.

During his latest reign as the top champion in Ring of Honor, Lethal made history by surpassing Samoa Joe’s record of 645 days for having the most combined days as champion.

Monday’s edition of WWE RAW from Des Moines, IA at the Wells Fargo Arena averaged 2.374 million viewers, down from 2.665 million the previous week. This marks the second lowest viewership number of the year only behind the January 7 show, which averaged 2,324,000 viewers.

Here is the hourly viewership breakdown, courtesy of ShowbuzzDaily:

  • Hour 1: 2.68 million

The episode was expected to drop in viewership as last week’s show was the first night of the Superstar Shakeup for the red brand.

RAW featured an appearance by Triple H to start off the show. Some of the matches that took place include two WWE Universal Title #1 Contendership Qualifying Triple Threat Matches, Naomi vs. Billie Kay, Cesaro vs. Cedric Alexander, Becky Lynch vs. Alicia Fox, Robert Roode vs. Ricochet, and AJ Styles vs. Baron Corbin in the main event.

WWE will attempt to rebound with its viewership for RAW next week. In case you missed the show, you can check out the seven takeaways here.

Kurt Angle & The Undertaker Pulled From Starrcast II

The Undertaker and Kurt Angle will no longer appear at Starrcast II. The news was made during an interview that was conducted by Sports Illustrated with Conrad Thompson on Tuesday.

According to Thompson, when the news was made about Undertaker appearing, it went wide and viral. However, that has all changed due to WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon getting involved.

“I was told it had gotten WWE’s attention and that Vince McMahon texted The Undertaker about the appearance. ’Taker’s representation, which is a company called Get Engaged, called to tell me, ‘WWE says he can’t do it.’ I had an agreement in place with the talent..”

Thompson would add, “Now, thanks to the influence of WWE, the performers are missing out on substantial income and the fans are being punished.”

This led to Thompson trying to get a replacement for Taker, which is when Thompson suggested having McMahon, Triple H, or Stephanie McMahon appearing with the idea of them donating 100 percent of the proceeds to Conor’s Cure and match the donation personally. That way it would turn a negative into a positive for everyone involved.

Thompson went on to say that he was hoping to have WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels be the replacement for Undertaker. That fell through as well.

Sting, Bret Hart, Scott Hall & Kevin Nash, Jim Ross, Eric Bischoff, Bruce Prichard, Tony Schiavone, and many more are still set to appear. Starrcast II will be held May 23rd-26th at Caesars Palace and the Tuscany Suites & Casino. For more information please visit here.

Alexa Bliss Deletes Tweet After Fans Suggest She Attend AEW Double Or Nothing

Former WWE RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss got fans talking over a post that she shared on her official Twitter account.

It all started when the Monday Night RAW star when she asked fans for suggestions for a show that she could watch in Las Vegas when she travels to the city in a few weeks.

This led to several fans bringing up AEW (All Elite Wrestling) holding their first show in the city soon. Double or Nothing, which is the inaugural show promoted by AEW, will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 25, 2019.

This led to Bliss deleting the post but not before fans were able to take a screenshot of it, which you can see here:

Despite deleting it, that didn’t stop Bliss from replying to one of the suggestions and making it clear that she was just trying to find a good show to watch with a friend.

Obviously, Alexa Bliss is not attending AEW: Double or Nothing. However, the fact that her tweet was deleted is interesting.

Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho in a rematch from their contest at Wrestle Kingdom in 2018 and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) vs. Lucha Bros. (Penta El Zero M and Rey Fénix) are being billed as the top two matches.

CM Punk Appears To Rip Colt Cabana With Harsh Comment

Former WWE Champion CM Punk has been in the headlines for various reasons as of late.

First was when he ruled out starting a podcast of his own and making a surprise appearance at an indy wrestling show while wearing a mask.

Punk was at it again once Ron Funches asked Punk on Twitter if he would be on his podcast.

However, Funches then joked about not wanting to do it due to the last time that Punk was on a podcast. This was a reference to when Punk made an appearance on former friend Colt Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast.

This was when things got interesting as Punk appeared to take a shot at Cabana. You can see his response here:

WWE doctor Chris Amann brought the lawsuit forward due to the comments Punk made during an appearance on Cabana’s podcast from November of 2014 about not receiving proper treatment of a “lump” on his backside while in the WWE. The jury ruled that they were in favor of Punk and Cabana on all counts filed by Amann.

After the lawsuit, Cabana sued Punk for breach of contract and fraud due to him alleging that the former WWE Champion made a promise to help him with his legal bills during the lawsuit but didn’t keep his promise.

AJ Styles Sends Warning To Seth Rollins, Interesting Ric Flair Trademarks

AJ Styles Sends Warning To Seth Rollins

It didn’t take AJ Styles long to find himself in a championship match for the top title on the flagship show of WWE, Monday Night RAW.

After beating Rey Mysterio and Samoa Joe in a qualifying triple threat match and later defeating Baron Corbin on Monday’s episode of RAW, Styles is on his way to Money in the Bank.

Styles is slated to challenge WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins for the strap at the upcoming at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view event. The former WWE Champion took to his official Twitter account to comment on the contest by writing:

WWE presents the Money In The Bank pay-per-view event on Sunday, May 19, 2019 in Hartford, CT at the XL Center that will air on the WWE Network.

Interesting Ric Flair Trademarks

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair filed to trademark two interesting things back on Monday, April 15. Those terms were Founder of Swag” and “King of Drip.”

According to the documents, they were filed for trademarks to use for “Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer.”

Interesting Theory About Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House

Bray Wyatt appeared on WWE programming last night as the host of the “Firefly Fun House.” The PeeWee Herman-styled children’s show appears to be what the many ominous vignettes featuring a buzzard and toy witch were building to.

Wyatt hasn’t wrestled on WWE programming since last August. He’s appeared on a few house shows in that time but has not been a featured performer in WWE since losing the RAW tag titles last summer.

There are perhaps some hints as to where his new persona could be heading in some of Wyatt’s previous social media posts. Although he recently deleted most of his old Tweets, Wyatt’s comments on social media since he’s been gone from WWE tell a story of someone dealing with severe mental illness.

Theory: Bray Wyatt Has Been Institutionalized

This theory was first presented back in October after a series of bizarre Tweets were posted from Wyatt’s social media accounts. The since-deleted Tweets seemed to indicate he was logging the days since he’d been undergoing treatment.

“Day 23, Subject is showing signs of progress, at times. Violent outbursts are commonplace, spewing threats at our staff in multiple languages, and reciting passages from Bible,” Wyatt Tweeted on October 14th, 2018.

Then the next day, Wyatt seemed to post notes from “Day 3”, despite the day before being labeled as “Day 23”.

“Day 3, Subject believes God as well as several other entities speak to him directly. They give him a scapegoat for 7 pulled a nail from his cell he was attempting to ‘repent through torture.’ Masochistic tendencies pray that after so many treatments he will be free of this affliction once and for all. Sincerely, Dr. M.”

Bray Wyatt Personality Change In December

Then in December, Wyatt posted a series of Tweets which seemed to indicate he no longer believes himself to be a God.

“I’m not a God, I never was. I’m sorry I said it, I was wrong. I know the true God now and all his power. I feel that I am forgiven for all the wickedness I have caused. My soul is clean now. My mind is clear. I see what I did wrong, what was done to me. They took it all,” Wyatt Tweeted on December 18th, 2018.

He followed that with the following Tweet, which seems to indicate acceptance of some type of mental illness:

“I have so many things to fix. I realize that I was sick. My mind doesn’t work like other people’s, it gets lost and attached to ideals that are unrealistic and poisonous. My next journey will be to find my true calling.”

Wyatt then offered up a thank you to the WWE Universe:

“To all that have loved and supported us we say thank you.

And ask that you have faith in us.

I was put on this Earth to fix it, to change it.

And I will not die until this is so.

Goodbye my brothers and sisters.

The journey is far from over.”

The timeline offered up by Wyatt’s now-deleted Tweets seems to indicate he was institutionalized in October and started to see progress in December. Is it possible the Bray we witnessed last night is the “rehabilitated” version of Wyatt? If that is the case, is he on the verge of cracking again?

Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House Friends

Still more theories being presented involve former members of Sanity Nikki Cross and Eric Young. Cross is not assigned to a brand in WWE at the moment, the only female wrestler on the roster in that position. Eric Young was recently drafted to RAW. Alexander Wolfe was moved to the NXT UK brand and Killian Dain is still assigned to Smackdown.

With both Eric Young and Nikki Cross possibly in a position to join Bray Wyatt on RAW, it’s possible they could be added to Wyatt’s emerging act. Some have speculated EY and Cross could turn out to be the true form of who Wyatt thinks he’s talking to when he speaks to the Buzzard or Abby the Witch.

Braun Strowman Appears After RAW, Rollins Is Ready For AJ Styles

Braun Strowman Appears After RAW

Two notable faces were missing from last night’s (Mon. April 22, 2019) Monday Night RAW broadcast. Those being Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley. However, after the show went off-air, both men appeared as part of the evening’s dark match to close out the night.

WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins teamed up with Strowman to defeat Lashley and Drew McIntyre.

Rollins Is Ready For AJ Styles

Last night, former WWE Champion AJ Styles earned a shot at Rollins’ Universal Championship. The pair will square off at the Money In The Bank (MITB) pay-per-view (PPV) event next month (Sunday, May 19, 2019). All the action takes place from the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut.

“The Architect” took to Twitter after the announcement to offer his reaction. Rollins said that he has been ready for a match-up with Styles for the past 15 years. Check it out here:

That’s not the only match that was made official for the card. WWE also made it official that Becky Lynch will be defending her RAW Women’s Championship against Lacey Evans at the show.

Becky Lynch Will Reportedly Work Double Duty At WWE MITB

Becky Lynch might take the ring twice at next month’s (Sunday, May 19, 2019) Money In The Bank (MITB) pay-per-view (PPV). The show goes down from the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Currently, Lynch is to defend her RAW Women’s Championship against Lacey Evans on the card.

However, she also has obligations as SmackDown Live Women’s Champion. Last week on RAW, Evans said she’s looking forward to winning the RAW Women’s strap. But on last night’s episode, Evans said she’s coming after both of “The Man’s” titles. Dave Meltzer addressed this on yesterday’s Wrestling Observer Radio.

Meltzer revealed that Lynch and Evans’ match won’t be for both the RAW and SmackDown Live Women’s Titles. Instead, Lynch will be defending both titles on the MITB card, but in two separate matches. It remains to be seen who will be Lynch’s challenger for the SmackDown Live Women’s Title, but that could very well be addressed on tonight’s episode.

  • Becky Lynch Wants To Make The Women’s Titles The Most Prestigious Titles In WWE

It was speculated that Charlotte Flair might be the woman to challenge Lynch at MITB. As for Evans’ comments about both belts, Meltzer hypothesized that “The Lady Of WWE” could earn a title opportunity in both matches. Regardless of how things work out, it looks like Lynch will be having two matches on the card.

Who do you think will be Lynch’s challenger for the SDL Women’s Title at MITB?

Jeff Hardy Dealing With Injury

One-half of the Smackdown Tag Team Champions is on the shelf with an injury at the moment. According to comments made recently on Wrestling Observer Radio, Jeff Hardy is currently dealing with an injury.

“Jeff Hardy is injured, I don’t know how severe,” said Dave Meltzer. “It was in the Saturday night show in Madison, Wisconsin.”

“Last night in Rochester, Minnesota he was in the corner of Matt. He was limping significantly so it’s probably some sort of leg injury.”

The Hardy Boyz defeated the Usos on the April 9th edition of Smackdown to win the brand’s tag team championships. They successfully defended the titles this weekend on the Madison, WI house show on April 20th. The following night with Jeff out of action Matt Hardy defeated Jey Uso in single’s action. Last night, Matt Hardy teamed with R-Truth and defeated Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows on a house show from Sioux City, Iowa.

The Hardy Boyz and Smackdown’s Tag Team Division

The Smackdown tag team division took a bit of a hit in the SuperStar shakeup. The Usos were drafted to RAW and with Cesaro now on Monday nights now as well, the Bar is no longer in the division either. Also, the members of New Day seem more interested in single’s gold nowadays. That is 3 championships teams which are no longer pursuing the Smackdown tag belts.

The Superstar shakeup left the Hardyz with just Nakamura & Rusev, Heavy Machinery, and Anderson & Gallows left as the only remaining active teams in the division.

Update On Sasha Banks’ WWE Status

Sasha Banks has not appeared on WWE programming since WrestleMania when her and Bayley dropped the tag titles to the Iiconics. According to comments made recently on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is willing to let her sit out the remainder of her contract if that is what she wants to do.

“Sasha Banks’ situation is unchanged, they are right now at a stalemate,” Dave Meltzer said. “The word is that if she wants to sit out the rest of her contract, she can sit out the rest of her contract.”

Meltzer added, “If you know what that means, that means she’s going to be sitting out forever because they are going to add time for her not working.”

Sasha Banks’ WWE Status

Last week it was revealed that Banks and Bayley were not told they would be losing the tag titles until the day of.

“It should be noted that the decision to put the women’s tag titles on The Iiconics was not a last minute decision,” wrote Dave Meltzer. “Banks & Bayley weren’t told until the day of the show. They were also told at the time that the company was going to drop them as a tag team.”

Bayley has since been drafted to Smackdown and declared herself to be a single’s Superstar.
