6 Takeaways From WWE RAW (9/30)

The September 30th episode of WWE RAW aired live from the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, AZ. It was the season premiere of RAW and debuted a new set that can be seen in the video below.

Here are 6 takeaways from this week’s show:

Brock Lesnar Brutally Attacked Mysterio & Dominick

Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar

Rey Mysterio kicked off the show and pointed at his son Dominick that was seated in the front row. Mysterio will battle Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship later during the show.

Mysterio told his son that he loved him and it was because of him that he was here right now. Rey stated that he was going to bring the Universal Championship home but was quickly interrupted by Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar’s pyro went off and The Beast marched to the ring alongside his advocate, Paul Heyman. Brock snatched the microphone out of Rey’s hands and gave it to a cackling Heyman.

Paul tried to speak but Mysterio ripped the microphone back out of his hands. Lesnar got pissed off and planted Mysterio with the F5 as Dominick looked on. Brock lifted Rey up with ease once again and hit him with another F5. Brock paced around the ring before staring at Dominick in the crowd. Lesnar got out of the ring and walked towards the barricade as Dominick sat down in fear. Brock grabbed Dominick and threw him to the floor.

Lesnar slammed Dominick into the ring post and Body Slammed him to the floor. Brock hurled Dominick into the ring and hit him with a ridiculous German Suplex that sent him flying across the ring. Mysterio tried to help his son but Lesnar hit him with another F5. Lesnar hit them both with a couple more Suplexes as Heyman pleaded with him to stop.

Brock then started beating the hell out of WWE security before throwing Mysterio and Dominick out of the ring. During the commercial break, Dominick was stretchered out of the ring with Mysterio by his side.

Well, that was a wildly entertaining and epic start to the show. Lesnar got a very loud “asshole!” chant as he smirked and posed in the ring after the segment. Brock will face Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship this Friday night on SmackDown’s debut on Fox.

Sasha Banks Ran Away From Becky Lynch

Sasha Banks squared off against Alexa Bliss tonight on RAW. Bayley and Nikki Cross were barred from ringside for the match. RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch came down to the ring and posed with the title before joining commentary for the match. Lynch will defend her title against Sasha Banks this Sunday at Hell in a Cell.

Banks controlled the match early and knocked Bliss out of the ring. Banks got up on the turnbuckle and started taunting Lynch. Becky responded by getting on top of the announce table and raised the title once again as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Bliss rolled up Sasha for a two count. Becky Lynch was still standing on top of the announce table as Sasha connected with a kick that knocked Bliss to the floor. Back in the ring, Bliss battled back and sent Banks face-first into the middle turnbuckle.

Alexa connected with a couple of Clotheslines and then Double Knees to the midsection. Banks hit a knee to the face and went for the cover but Bliss kicked out at two. Sasha booted Bliss in the knee and then covered her while grabbing Alexa’s tights for the victory.

After the match, Becky rushed the ring and tackled Sasha to the canvas. Banks tried to escape but Lynch caught her with an uppercut. Sasha rolled out of the ring and retreated into the crowd. Lynch told Banks that she can run now but she isn’t leaving the cell Sunday until she is done with her. Becky added that Sasha had made it personal and now she is going to make it painful.

Roode & Ziggler Retained

RAW Tag Team Champions Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler defended their titles against Heavy Machinery (Otis & Tucker) this week on RAW.

Tucker dominated early and hit Dolph with a Dropkick for a two count. Tucker lifted Ziggler up for a Suplex and tagged in Otis. Tucker handed Dolph off to Otis who held Ziggler up for a while before finally planted him with a Suplex for a near fall. Otis leveled Roode and Ziggler with a shoulder tackle and then Heavy Machinery hit dueling Suplexes as RAW went to a break.

When RAW returned, the champs were in control as Roode sent Tucker into the barricade surrounding the ring. Back in the ring, Roode stomped Tucker down in the corner before tagging Dolph back in.

Ziggler hit a Neckbreaker and went for the cover but Tucker was able to kick out at two. Roode and Ziggler isolated Tucker in the corner of the ring and took turns beating him down. Roode planted Tucker with a Spinebuster for another near fall.

Tucker finally was able to battle back and sent Ziggler flying into the ring post. Roode and Otis tagged in and Otis started dancing around the ring as he beat the hell out of Dolph and Roode. Otis did the caterpillar across the ring and connected with an Elbow Drop on Ziggler and Roode.

Tucker tagged in and Ziggler hit him with the Zig Zag. Roode and Ziggler sent Otis out of the ring and teamed up on Otis. Roode connected with the Glorious DDT on Otis for the pinfall victory.

Team Hogan Versus Team Flair Was Announced For Crown Jewel

Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair were guests on Miz TV tonight. Jimmy Hart accompanied Hogan to the ring.

The Miz stated that he hoped Rey and Dominick were okay following the attack by Lesnar before introducing Ric Flair.

The Miz then introduced Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart to a great reaction from the crowd.

Ric Flair started off the segment by saying that he is sick of listening to Hogan’s theme music. Flair and Hogan started trash-talking and traded some insults. Hogan pointed out that they aren’t spring chickens anymore and the crowd responded with a “one more match!”.

The Miz announced Team Hogan versus Team Flair at Crown Jewel on October 31st. It will be a 5 vs. 5 match with Hogan and Flair serving as coaches. Universal Champion Seth Rollins was announced as the captain for Team Hogan. Rollins came down to the ring and vowed to mop the floor with Team Flair. Randy Orton was announced as the captain of Team Flair and made his way to the ring.

Orton told Rollins to take his head out of Hogan’s ass and listen up for a minute. Randy challenged Seth to a match and Rollins quickly accepted. Before the match started, King Corbin interrupted and walked towards the ring. Orton capitalized and attacked Seth from behind. Corbin hit Seth with the sceptre several times before Rusev rushed the ring for the save. Rollins leveled Randy with a Suicide Dive as Rusev booted Corbin out of the ring.

WWE’s Saudi Arabia shows rely on nostalgia acts, so it was no surprise that this was just an advertisement for Crown Jewel disguised as a promo. I would have preferred to see The Fiend show up and give the Mandible Claw to Hogan and Flair. It is also is a bit goofy that WWE is having this match at Crown Jewel when Survivor Series is in November.

AJ Styles Retained The United States Championship

AJ Styles defended his United States Championship against Cedric Alexander tonight. AJ connected with a Jawbreaker but Cedric shrugged it off and hit Styles with a Dropkick. Styles knocked Cedric to the outside and hit him with a forearm to the face as RAW went to a commercial break.

When SmackDown returned, Styles was still in control and had Alexander trapped in a Headlock. Cedric escaped and connected with a Flatliner that sent both superstars the canvas.

AJ set up for the Styles Clash but Alexander blocked it and hit a Michinoku Driver for a near fall. Alexander went for the Lumbar Check but AJ beautifully countered into the Styles Clash for the pinfall victory. AJ Styles is still the United States Champion.

Lana Made Out With Bobby Lashley

Seth Rollins defended his Universal Championship against Rusev in the main event of this week’s RAW. Mysterio was originally supposed to get the title match but was unable to compete after the attack from Brock Lesnar. Before the match, a limo was shown pulling into the parking lot.

Rollins and Rusev went back and forth as Corbin and Ortin watched on from the entrance ramp. Seth hit Rusev with the Falcon Arrow and went for the cover but Rusev kicked out at two. Bobby Lashley made his return and came down to the entrance ramp with Lana. Lashley and Lana made out for what felt like an eternity as Rusev just stood there in the ring. The lights in the arena went out and The Fiend locked in the Mandible Claw on Rollins to close the show.

RAW started off well this week and then turned into a complete disaster by the end. I could not believe how awkward and dumb this was. First of all, Rusev looked like a complete idiot just standing there watching someone kiss his wife for at least 30 seconds. A camera cutting to Lana every other minute isn’t going to save Bobby Lashley from being a charisma vacuum and one of the least interesting superstars on the roster.

The Fiend attacking Rollins felt rushed and didn’t get that big of a reaction because it happened immediately following the makeout session. Hell in a Cell is this Sunday night and this trainwreck was RAW’s go-home show for the PPV. It is a brand new season but still the same terrible show.

Bobby Lashley Returns On WWE RAW, Starts Interesting Program

Bobby Lashley has made his return to WWE television and he wasn’t alone but rather has been paired with Lana.

The return happened on Monday Night RAW in Phoenix, Arizona at the Talking Stick Resort Arena on the USA Network when a limo was seen pulling up.

WWE went to commercial break before starting WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins vs. Rusev for the Universal Title.

This led to Lashley walking out on the stage and waited until Lana joined him. The two started kissing as Rusev watched on in shock from inside the squared circle.

It appears that Lashley and Lana will be paired together and go into a program with Rusev going forward. The show closed with Bray Wyatt going after Rollins.

WWE RAW Results & Live Coverage (9/30)

Lashley was last seen in action when he worked a 10-man battle royal back on the July 15th episode of Monday Night RAW.

Last month it was revealed that he underwent surgery that had placed him on the sidelines. The reason for the surgery was to get bone spurs removed from the elbow.

At the time, the belief was that he would likely be out of action until early November. Obviously, his return came earlier than expected.

AEW Dynamite To Air Live In Canada

AEW (All Elite Wrestling) has secured a television deal in Canada. The news was first reported by Dave Meltzer and PWInsider.

The weekly television show will air live each week at 8 pm ET on TSN in Canada. As of this writing, no other details have been revealed about the deal. A formal announcement is expected shortly.

This comes after it was announced last week that AEW will air in the UK on ITV4 on Sunday mornings at 8 am and a one-hour Dynamite highlights show on Monday nights.

This means that fans in the UK will have to wait four days to watch new episodes of the show although the promotion is working to air the show live but those details have yet to be revealed.

AEW Dynamite Opening Video Package & Theme Music

FITE TV has also announced that AEW Plus will provide live and replay access to fans in order to watch AEW Dynamite on a subscription basis as well as an a la carte option.

AEW Plus will feature the live two-hour show every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET for a $4.99 monthly subscription price on FITE or $2.99 per episode.

AEW Dynamite will begin airing live two-hour weekly matches on TNT at 8 p.m. ET starting this Wednesday.

Team Flair vs. Team Hogan Match Set For WWE Crown Jewel

The first match has been announced for the upcoming WWE Crown Jewel PPV.

During Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, which marked the season premiere of the show, WWE had Hall of Famers Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan appear on Miz TV.

They cut promos on each other and eventually teased one last showdown. Obviously, another match between the two stars wasn’t going to happen.

Instead, WWE had different plans for the two legendary pro wrestlers. This is where it was announced that Hogan and Flair would have teams that battle it out in a 5-on-5 tag team match at Crown Jewel.

This led to the announcement of WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins serving as the captain of Team Hogan while Randy Orton would serve as the captain of Team Flair.

Once a match was teased between Orton and Rollins, more stars to this upcoming contest were revealed. Baron Corbin came out to attack Rollins only to have Rusev come out to make the save for Rollins.

WWE RAW Results & Live Coverage (9/30)

Rusev and Rollins are set for Team Hogan while Corbin and Orton are set for Team Flair.

WWE presents the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event on Thursday, October 31, 2019 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Fahd International Stadium that will air on the WWE Network.

Brock Lesnar Destroys Rey Mysterio & His Son, Universal Title Match Delayed

Seth Rollins is still the WWE Universal Champion but things didn’t go as originally planned for him thanks to Brock Lesnar.

WWE held the RAW Season Premiere episode on Monday night from Phoenix, Arizona at the Talking Stick Resort Arena. This is where Rollins was supposed to defend his title against Rey Mysterio in a high priority match on the flagship show of the company.

In the opening segment, Mysterio was cutting a promo when Lesnar appeared and hit a series of F5’s. He would then attack Mysterio’s son, Dominick.

WWE RAW Results & Live Coverage (9/30)

The company set this matchup between Mysterio and Rollins on last week’s show when a Fatal 5-Way Match to determine who would be next in line for a championship match took place.

Rey Mysterio, Ricochet, WWE US Champion AJ Styles, WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, and WWE RAW Tag Team Champion Robert Roode competed in the contest.

As seen on the show, Mysterio ended up winning it. As a result, Mysterio had earned the right to challenge Rollins for the WWE Universal Title

The WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event takes place on Sunday, October 6, 2019 in Sacramento, California at the Golden 1 Center.

Report: WWE Attempting To Book Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez

WWE believes that they can draw big money with UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez taking on one of their biggest stars, which is Brock Lesnar.

It was noted over the weekend that the UFC star is currently in talks with WWE. While he’s interested in that possibility, he has expressed interest in potentially working with AEW or New Japan Pro Wrestling as well. He has had talks with AAA, who has already booked him at two shows and another one on the way.

Dave Meltzer reported on MMAFighting.com that part of WWE’s offer to the UFC would be for him to wrestle Lesnar. It was noted that Velasquez would likely undergo knee surgery before he made any long-term commitment to any pro wrestling promotion.

It was noted that WWE doesn’t have plans to use him as a high-flyer but rather would want him to portray a serious fighter, one who can be a legitimate rival to Lesnar.

Cain Velasquez Meets With WWE Officials

The belief is that AAA wouldn’t be able to match an offer that he would get by WWE in the long term if he’s interested in making a transition into pro wrestling full-time due to their pay scale is much lower than in WWE.

WWE has made it clear that if they signed him then they want exclusivity just like with their other talent. It should be noted that AEW and AAA do have a working relationship, which would allow Cain to continue working in Mexico.

Velasquez defeated Lesnar by TKO to win the UFC Heavyweight Title at the UFC 221 pay-per-view in 2010.

Why Jushin Liger Was Not Booked For NJPW’s Fighting Spirit USA Tour

Jushin Liger was missing from the NJPW’s Fighting Spirit: Unleashed Tour and the reason behind it could be storyline-based.

If you haven’t caught up with what’s going on at New Japan, here’s the gist. At the recent Destruction in Kobe event on September 22, Jushin Liger attacked Minoru Suzuki and other members of Suzuki-Gun when Suzuki attempted to remove Liger’s mask. Liger delivered a low blow to get him off, then unmask himself to reveal his alter ego: Kishin Liger.

Kishin Liger
Kishin Liger.

This side of Liger is considered to be extremely dangerous, and there’s no saying on how he’ll try to attack his opponents. This was made clear when he tried to stab Suzuki with a large metal spike last week.

Related: Kishin Liger’s History In NJPW Revisited

Back to why Liger was missing from the tour. According to a report from PWInsider, Jushin was not booked for the tour because his alter ego Kishin was unleashed. Kishin Liger is a rare transformation which usually happens when someone tries to remove Jushin Liger’s mask. He has had his mask removed to reveal the evil Kishin Liger only four times over the last three decades. Needless to say, we only get to see this character in special events.

The Kishin Liger gimmick consists of mannerisms and imagery that is the exact opposite to that of a normal person. Jushin Thunder Liger on the other hand, is a wholesome and jovial type of character. It appears that Jushin Liger was not booked for the event because it would contradict the ongoing storyline with Minoru Suzuki.

AJ Kirsch Joins MLW’s Broadcast Booth

Major League Wrestling has signed AJ Kirsch to join Rich Bocchini and Tony Shiavone in its broadcast team, the company announced.

The news was initially broken by SI.com, which Kirsch confirmed on his Twitter:

Kirsch first began his career as a professional wrestler in 2005 and competed on the west coast wrestling circuit. He was cast as a contestant on WWE’s Tough Enough season five.

In October 2011, he participated in the TNA Gut Check contest in Sacramento, California.

Kirsch was also the winner of The Rock’s “Rock the Promo”, a ten-episode promo competition series on The Rock’s YouTube channel. He recently voiced Buzz, the lead protagonist in the MyCAREER mode of WWE2K19.

The company has revealed that AJ will be broadcasting for the first time in Tijuana this Saturday for the MLW x The Crash Lucha Libre event.

MLW CEO Court Bauer said that he wanted to “add some youthful exuberance on the headset”, and that’s why Kirsch was picked.

The company will be holding their first-ever PPV on November 2, dubbed MLW Saturday Night SuperFight. It will will take place at the Cicero Stadium in Cicero, Illinois. Jacob Fatu (c) vs. LA Park for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship has been confirmed so far.

Triple H recently stated that there were no plans of removing the brand and it was suggested that 205 Live may be consolidated into NXT. While that hasn’t happened yet, the show will be airing after SmackDown on the WWE Network for the time being.

Another interesting thing to note is that Vic Joseph and Dio Madden from 205 Live’s commentary team were moved to Raw, leaving Aiden English on the purple brand. Michael Cole and Corey Graves have been shifted to SmackDown starting this week, which leaves Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton behind. Maybe they will join Aiden?

Lio Rush has become the number one contender for Drew Gulak’s WWE Cruiserweight Championship. No word on when the match will take place yet.

Cody Rhodes Says Triple H Took His WWE Departure Personally

AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes has been doing the media rounds to promote AEW Dynamite on TNT.

During a recent long-form interview with Jonathan Snowden for Bleacher Report, Cody reflected on his WWE departure in 2016.

He also talked about how Triple H took his exit personally due to his relationship with Cody’s father, the late great Dusty Rhodes.

“Hunter [Triple H] took it very personally because he had done so much for my dad at NXT. There was one conversation where he said, ‘I’m shocked that you feel this way after everything I’ve done for your family.’

But I told him, ‘I’m not my dad. I can’t stay here out of loyalty to you for giving my dad a job in 2005. I get it, and the little boy in me really appreciates what you did for my dad. But I’m not him. He’s not here anymore. I’ve got to be me.’”

Cody Rhodes On Proving His Mom Wrong, If He Spoke To Vince McMahon About AEW

Rhodes continued by stating that he thinks Triple H has been been in wrestling long enough that Triple H knew that he’s being for real as he’s not asking for more money or a title shot.

There was nothing that would matter to him at this point. He thinks he let the burn get too bad before he said anything.

Rhodes is expected to open the premiere episode of AEW on TNT this Wednesday as he’ll be in action when he takes on Sammy Guevara in a singles match.

Naomi Provides Update On Her Status

It has been quite a while since we’ve seen Naomi on WWE television. Apart from three live show appearances, Naomi was last seen in July on Raw during a Fatal 4-Way match which determined the number one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship. The other three competitors in the match were Alexa Bliss, Carmella, and the winner Natalya. Her last overall WWE appearance was at 22 July on WWE Main Event where she defeated Sarah Logan. She has been absent from the ring since then.

Naomi addressed this absence on her Twitter where she revealed that she has been dealing with issues lately. She stated that she has recently lost a loved one and is dealing with her own health issues.

She wrote, “I’ve faced some trying times the past few months…losing a loved one so dear to me (rocked me to my core) & handling my own health issues I wasn’t aware of forced me to slow down & reevaluate…I want my loving fans to know that I’m ok and will be back when the time is right.”

Naomi has stated that she will return when she feels the time is right. SEScoops sends well wishes to her and we hope she makes a speedy recovery from her health issues.

Triple H Reacts To Kenny Omega’s NXT vs. AEW Talent Comments

Triple H has discussed the latest comments made by Kenny Omega.

“The Game” continues to make the media rounds to promote WWE NXT on the USA Network. He did so again when he spoke with Brian Fritz of Sporting News where he spoke about a wide range of topics.

During the interview, he was asked about Omega stating that fans will see real stars on TNT with AEW Dynamite whereas NXT offers “developmental talent.”

“It doesn’t matter to me. I’m not sure if you’re aware of social media and that landscape. It’s a fairly negative place (laughs). If you’re going to get thin-skinned and read into stuff and get angry about stuff that people say, it’s gonna be a rough life. There’s a statement about opinions over the years I’ve heard. Everybody it entitled to their opinion. Everybody is entitled to put an executive tag on the front of their name and think that’s a cool thing.”

Triple H continued by nothing that if that’s the way that Omega sees it then bring their best show because he’ll bring his and that the winners in this war are the fans.

Kenny Omega On AEW: You’re Going To See Real Stars, Not Developmental Talent

Triple H thinks that fans will choose what they want to watch and how. He continued by noting that it doesn’t matter to him and it’s not his interest but rather putting on the best show possible is his interest.

The war between NXT and AEW starts this Wednesday night.

National Wrestling Alliance has unveiled the new NWA Women’s World Championship during the press conference in Atlanta on Monday.

The belt goes back to its roots with an old style feel to it, as it sports the champion’s picture in the center instead of having just a nameplate. The belt is designed by Belts By Dan.

You can take a look at the title below, which features the current champion Allysin Kay’s picture in the center:

Here is NWA’s press conference that the company streamed on its YouTube page from the Hard Rock Cafe in Atlanta this Monday morning:

The NWA World Women’s Championship descended from the original Women’s World Championship which was won by Mildred Burke in 1935. The Fabulous Moolah has held the title more times than any other wrestler, with a total of five reigns to her name. She also has the longest reign of 3,651 days, or 9 years. She has a combined reign of 11,106 days, or around 30 years.

Allysin Kay is in her first reign after Jazz vacated the championship due to medical and personal reasons. She was supposed to face Jazz but after Jazz relinquished her championship, Allysin defeated Santana Garrett at the Crockett Cup in April this year to win the vacated title.

CM Punk And Colt Cabana’s Lawsuit Settled

The CM Punk vs. Colt Cabana lawsuit is reportedly settled.

According to David Bixenspan of Forbes, an update on the docket for the lawsuit read “DISMISS BY STIPULATION OR AGREEMENT” which has been seemingly initiated by Punk. On Sunday, it was confirmed by Carey Stein, who is Cabana’s lawyer that the lawsuits had been settled.

According to PWInsider, both CM Punk and Colt Cabana filed for the dismissal of the case, with prejudice. However, there was no financial settlement and both parties agreed to drop their cases. With prejudice is a legal term meaning that both parties will not be able to refile the case against each other over this issue.

Cabana and Punk have been involved in this legal battle since August of 2018. Cabana sued Punk for $1.2 million for breach of contract as Punk had promised to cover all of Cabana’s legal costs related to the defamation suit filed against them by WWE doctor Chris Amann over the now infamous Art of Wrestling podcast episode.

Cabana’s suit was dismissed but he was allowed to refile, and he did multiple times. Punk filed a countersuit against Cabana this June claiming he was owed $600,000 which is half of their legal fees he spent on the Amman case. Punk also noted that the Art of Wrestling podcast episode was popular and had been monetized by Cabana, but Punk was never compensated for his appearance.

Now that the dust has settled, it still doesn’t look like their friendship will be doing too well judging by the tweets Punk made:

Cody Rhodes On Proving His Mom Wrong, If He Spoke To Vince McMahon About AEW

All Elite Wrestling’s Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes recently sat down for an interview with the Rich Eisen Show. During their conversation, Rhodes opened up wanting to portray himself in the ring—something he claimed WWE never fully understood. He also addressed whether he spoke about AEW with Vince McMahon.

Cody explained that he knew throughout his entire career who he was destined to be regarding an in-ring persona. He acknowledged he never wanted to be something he wasn’t. Instead, he wanted to fold his real life into his character, owning the fact he is Dusty Rhodes’ son. He added that this ambition was something WWE never understood, which acted as motivation for him to leave and start working with other promotions like Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

“I didn’t want to be another character. I wanted to be this combination of everything that I had built,” Rhodes explained. “I hit the independent scene and the independent scene was thriving. The alternative brands like New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor were doing really well. I linked up with some other non-WWE backed wrestling talent and that’s what ultimately led to having an alternative product [AEW].”

Betting On AEW

When he first started planning AEW, Cody was told by an “endless amount of people to forget it.” He added that the one person he loves to consistently prove wrong is his mother. Cody described her as being “terrified” over his betting on himself and AEW not succeeding.

He admitted that he never spoke with Vince McMahon about AEW and that it wasn’t until Tony Khan became involved that plans solidified:

“What happened was, there were four major free agents in wrestling,” Rhodes said. “It was myself, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks. Tony Khan, who’s a die-hard wrestling consumer and fan, was the one who said ‘I can get this, I can back you guys fully. You can hold me accountable, I can hold you guys accountable, and I can get this on TNT.’ He wasn’t lying. The day our free agency began, he took us under his wing and everything has gone forward since.”

He explained that “[Tony] is someone I like talking to because he has a good grip on what wrestling might be good today. ‘[He’d say things like] these guys are getting really popular. I saw this guy in Japan. I saw this girl at an independent event.’ He has a good mind for the future and how things may be.”

AEW: Dynamite premieres on TNT this Wednesday, October 2nd.
