The Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee and WWE Superstar Kane made an appearance on The Two Man Power Trip podcast where he discussed a wide range of pro wrestling topics.

During the interview, he talked about his return on this past Monday’s episode of RAW.

“As far as a shocking crazy return, I think it was. I think and as we say it was a really good piece of business. I’ve told people all along that last Monday they were in Knoxville so it was in my hometown and gosh, what a rush. Sometimes I forget about that but there is nothing like it.”

Kane Returns On WWE RAW, Attacked By Bray Wyatt

Kane talked about how there is nothing like walking through that curtain and the entrance music. He noted that he’s told people he would never say that Kane is over because he doesn’t know when that part of his life will be over.

The reason for that is due to him probably going to try to do whatever WWE asks him because he enjoys it. He added that it was a great night.

Kane was also pressed about his future with the company, which is when he responded with, I don’t know what the future holds but at least for one night it was pretty doggone cool.”

Kane made the save for Seth Rollins on this show as he was being beaten down The OC (AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows). This led to Bray Wyatt appearing and putting Kane down.

8 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 9/20

Impact Wrestling 9/20 emanated from Mexico City, Mexico and featured the last match in Impact for LAX. They faced Willie Mack & Rich Swann in the main event.

Here are 8 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 9/20.

LAX Wrestle Their Last Match For Impact Wrestling

Santana and Ortiz are off to AEW after having dominated the Impact tag team division. They are the longest-reigning Impact tag champs of all time and finished off their careers in the promotion by dropping this week’s main event to Willie Mack and Rich Swann.

Following the match, the locker room emptied out to celebrate LAX. The segment closed with Santana and Ortiz being hoisted on the shoulders of the Impact roster.

https://twitter.com/JoeyRyanOnline/status/1175275004071567363

A bachelorette party was thrown backstage for Melissa Santos this week. It looked as though the police had been called to break it up but it turns out the officer at the door was really a male stripper fans will recognize as Joey Ryan.

Brian Cage Cheats During His Bachelor Party

Brian Cage’s bachelor party with Rich Swann and Tommy Dreamer was less eventful. Cage had commented on how he was looking forward to “cheating” at the party but turns out he was just commenting on eating cheat meals on his diet.

Tessa Blanchard & the Hardcore Legends Defeat OVE

Impact Wrestling kicked off this week with an 8-person street fight. OVE took on Tessa Blanchard, Tommy Dreamer, Rhino, and Rob Van dam. In the end, Rhino would gore Jake Crist through a table and Tessa Blanchard would make him submit to a kendo stick assisted cross face.

Sami Callihan probably has his sights set on October 20th in Chicago against Brian Cage, he might still have some unfinished business with Tessa Blanchard, however.

Havok Attempted To Murder Su Yung

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKjwXMPI1zQ

Havok defeated Su Yung in a no disqualification match this week. She picked up the win after a tombstone piledriver but the end of the match didn’t mean the end of the fight. Yung kept fighting with her rival after the match and the two brawled all the way to the back.

As they brawled into a stairwell, Havok then wrapped a noose around Yung’s neck and tossed her over the railing. Josh Matthews would let fans know after the commercial break that Yung had been taken to hospital.

Medical staff were later shown to be unable to revive Yung. She would come back to life, however.

Alisha Edwards May Have The Wrong Opinion Of Ace Austin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqFv4zg7ppg

Ace Austin has stated on impact wrestling that he is out to “bang” Eddie Edwards’ wife Alisha. This week Austin showed up to Impact in a wheelchair after the beating he was given by Edwards last week. He told Alisha he wanted to be there to support her during her match with Taya Valkyrie.

During the match, Austin made dramatic recovery and was able to fend of John E Bravo who was attempting to interfere. The assistance didn’t work, however, as Taya still won the match. After, Austin fell out of his wheelchair while trying to applaud Alisha’s efforts. He must have seemed so noble to her.

Matt Hardy On If We Have Seen The Last Of The Hardy Boys

Matt Hardy recently spoke to Inside The Ropes and he talked about a number of different things including his TV return, what he would like to do when he is back and more.

During the interview, Hardy was asked why a feud between him and his brother Jeff Hardy did not work and he explained that it took place during the boom period of the internet in the late 90s and people did not buy them as rivals.

The Broken One was then questioned about his team with his younger brother. The reporter asked if we have seen the last of them as a team or if it will happen again, and Matt seemed to be hopeful towards a Hardy Boys reunion somewhere down the line:

“I mean I am sure we will do it (again). It’s obviously what we are most well known for. So I am sure that will happen. Anytime the Hardy Boys are together it’s a very special attraction and that’s what this industry lives all of nowadays to have special attractions.”

The former Hardcore Champion was also asked about the rise of AEW. He said that it’s a great thing which will be beneficial for everyone and it’s going to help everyone.

Though he went on to explain that no one is going be on the global competition level of WWE but it’s gonna push the minds of the creatives and talents to do better.  You can check out the full interview of Matt Hardy in the video below:

Konnan Comments On “Puto” Chant Controversy

AEW recently released a statement to Out Sports regarding Cody participating in a “Puto” chant at AAA’s TripleMania. The chant carries a negative connotation toward homosexuals and efforts have been made by the Mexican Soccer Federation and ESPN to prevent the chant from being heard on broadcasts of international soccer.

Konnan commented on the issue recently on his “Keepin it 100” podcast.

“There was like three ‘puto” chants in New York,” Konnan said in reference to the Invading NY event. “Here’s the thing, in Mexico, there’s this big thing because when the other team, and I know you watch a lot of soccer, when the other team – they’ll start calling them, the Mexican fans we’ll go ‘heey puto!’ right? Which basically does mean gay but it’s like anything else it’s the context. So if you’re saying ‘hey man, I hate all gay guys because I can’t stand whatever,’ that’s one thing but another thing is ‘wow, that looks so gay’ which is – and they get offended when you say that.”

Konnan Comments On Puto Chants

“So the puto chant they’re not really telling the gay ‘hey, we think you’re gay and we’re homophobes and all that, it’s just the fans having fun right? And they’ve actually had – listen to this, I don’t even know how you can enforce this – that they’re gonna fine the Mexican Federation so much amount of money every time that the fans chant ‘puto.’ So they’ll have announcements before the show ‘hey, don’t chant puto at the other people because it makes our country look bad and it’s homophobic and all this and the people still chant it.”

Enzo Amore Comments On Recent Big Cass Incident

Big Cass was recently involved in a backstage incident at a WrestlePro event and soon after the incident took place, he sent out a statement revealing that he was getting help.

During the latest episode of Busted Open Radio, Cass’ partner and best friend Enzo Amore talked about a number of things and he also revealed his thoughts on the matter.

The former WWE Cruiserweight Champion first said that he has got a friend for life in Big Cass. According to him, there is a bond when you have seen someone on their highest and lowest and getting him help is the priority:

“He [is seeking] help, and that to me is the number one thing that needs to happen. I know there was an incident that occurred most recently and it was because he didn’t reach out to somebody. Depression is a serious battle and people who are fighting it are just like me and you, and some are hiding it. “

Amore went on to say that Cass is a big tough guy but he is also vulnerable right now. He is sharing his story to let the world know that if he can struggle with it then it’s ok for you to do so too and the number one thing you can do is be there for each other.

For those who don’t know, Big Cass was threatening to beat up people backstage at the show and not behaving well. The whole incident ended with police being called and the former WWE Star being taken to hospital. You can check out a detailed report on the matter here.

Matt Riddle Comments On Pull Apart Between Dolph Ziggler and Goldberg

The post drew the attention of NXT’s Matt Riddle, who has made frequent public statements regarding Goldberg over the last several months. Riddle posted the following to Twitter:

On the SummerSlam version of Watch Along, Riddle was a guest and told the story of meeting Goldberg backstage that weekend.

Matt Riddle vs Goldberg Rivalry

Riddle commented on if he’s any closer to a match with Goldberg earlier this month in an interview with Sportskeeda.

“Well, the WWE… NXT has made mention of me wrestling Brock in promos and other things like that, but I’ve been calling out Brock since I started wrestling. It’s such a huge goal. If I get close to that, I’ll probably be really successful. If I do it, probably be a legend. Now I’m as close I’ve ever been, but I’m still pretty far.”

The Young Bucks Believe Audience At Full Sail Will Get Tired Of NXT

WWE recently announced that NXT will remain in Full Sail University after going live, however, the Young Bucks seem to think that it’s a wrong move for the company.

Bucks recently spoke to Alex McCarthy of TalkSPORT where they discussed things like Triple H’s recent comments about the NXT roster, their UK television deal and more.

Talking about the USA premiere episode of the Black and Yellow brand, Matt said that he is rooting for them. He said that he wants them to have a good show but their show debuting on TNT on October 2nd will be better.

Nick then raised a concern about the show remaining in Full Sail “It was a fun show. But 10 weeks from now, those fans might get tired. It happened with IMPACT [doing a show from the same studio].”

The Bucks also talked about Pac making his debut for the promotion during the All Out PPV where he replaced Jon Moxley in a match against Kenny Omega.

Nick revealed that there were a couple of more names being discussed as a possible replacement. Though those talks were nixed and it was Tony Khan who got the deal with the former WWE Star done.

Booker T Comments On Upcoming WWE Championship Match

Brock Lesnar surprised everyone when he showed up at this week’s episode of SmackDown Live. He challenged the WWE Champion Kofi Kingston for a match and the internet has been buzzing about this bout ever since.

During the recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, WWE Legend Booker T talked about a number of things and also shared his thoughts on the upcoming championship bout between these two stars.

Booker first said that he thinks it’s possible for Kofi to beat the Beast and he went on to claim that going out there and beating Brock Lesnar would be the ultimate achievement for the WWE Champion:

“To be able to go out against Brock Lesnar on the first episode of SmackDown on FOX and beat him with the Trouble in Paradise, cover him, 1,2,3 good God! Kofi has had a hell of a run, no man can ask for any more than what Kofi Kingston has had, but to be able to go out there and pull it off that would be the ultimate.”

Though T later claimed that he doesn’t know if it’s actually going to happen. He doesn’t like to try and determine how a match is going to turn out and there are a lot of things that could affect the outcome of the bout.

Booker T also talked about Brock Lesnar’s appeal saying that he is one of those enigma’s which you can either love or hate, but both are good for the business.

Brock Lesnar will be facing Kofi Kingston in a one on one match for the WWE Championship at the upcoming SmackDown 20th anniversary show on October 4rth.

Becky Lynch On The Best Part About Her Rise To The Top

The story of Becky Lynch’s rise to the top is nothing short of miraculous and the Inaugural SmackDown Women’s Champion has gone on from being a forgotten competitor to one of the most over stars in the current roster.

The current Raw Women’s Champion recently had an interview with Yahoo where she talked about a number of things including the upcoming WWE 2K20 video game and more.

While talking about her heel turn and rise to the top of the company, Becky said that the best part of the past year has been seeing how invested people get in the storylines:

“I think [the best part of the past year has been] really seeing how invested people get into this and how it has changed people’s perceptions of what you can do as a woman or anybody really — saying enough is enough,”

Lynch went on to recall how she felt guilty when she first became the SmackDown Women’s Champion thinking about everybody and wishing that they all could be champion.

However, she played herself down in doing so and after seeing people getting handed opportunities, she promised herself that it won’t happen again.

Becky Lynch is currently involved in a storyline with Sasha Banks and it’s speculated that she can lose the Women’s title to Banks and be moved to SmackDown Live in the upcoming drafts.

Dustin Rhodes Reveals His Father Didn’t Want Him To Join The Wrestling Industry

Both Dustin Rhodes and Cody Rhodes have honored the legacy of their father Dusty Rhodes in their own way and they both have worked hard to become successful wrestlers in their own right.

However, during a recent interview with Bleacher Report, Dustin talked about his start in wrestling and revealed that their dad actually didn’t want him to become a wrestler.

Rhodes was talking about his childhood. He said that he loved everything about the business since he was little and revealed that Dusty didn’t want him to get into the wrestling industry:

“For the first time I was let in on all the secret stuff, the kayfabe stuff, I’d been longing for so, so long. He gave me a crash course; he didn’t want me to get into the wrestling industry. But that’s all I wanted. I grew up desiring nothing but the wrestling business.”

However, the current AEW Star stayed loyal to his dream. This forced his dad to allow him to work in the business, though he still made Dustin work his way up through the industry.

According to the star formerly known as Goldust, he had to learn everything about the business by working hard and spending countless hours in the gym as well as with the veterans on the road.

His first break in the industry came when Dusty told him to referee a couple of matches. He instructed Dustin to drive the car to reach the arena, while the Hall Of Famer flew in for the show in his private jet.

Apart from this, Dustin also talked about AEW’s upcoming TV show, helping young talents and more. You can check out his full interview at this link.

Jyushin Thunder Liger Reflects On Upcoming Retirement

New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) legend Jyushin Thunder Liger is counting down the days to his retirement. Liger will officially retire next January, with his last match taking place in the Tokyo Dome for NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom event.

In an interview with njpw1972.com, Liger sat down with long-time friend Togi Makabe to discuss his career. During their conversation, the two discussed Liger’s retirement and the surprise the announcement caused in the NJPW locker room.

Makabe revealed that when he first found out that Liger was retiring, his first thought was “Is he serious?” followed by “Is the company serious?”

He continued, “So when I first heard I was thinking ‘what are you talking about?’. Like maybe he’s thinking about taking a bit of a break and then going internationally, or making a next step, all of that’s stuff only he knows for sure. But I was just like ‘hold on a second!’”

Liger then confessed that despite their friendship, he didn’t speak to anybody about his plans to retire until after he announced it. He claimed he didn’t even confer with his family, stating that the decision was his choice.

“I don’t think it’s right for a wrestler to talk with his colleagues about retirement, you know? I didn’t even tell my family until after I’d made up my mind to retire. […] It just felt like the right time to put a full stop on things.”

He explained how he’d rather leave with fans asking “‘Why is he quitting now? He can still go!’” as opposed to laughing at “old man Liger.” Liger added that leaving this wa is the more dignified decision and that he never intends to go back on his retirement.

Update On Jason Jordan’s Injury Status

Jason Jordan has been out of action since receiving neck surgery in February 2018. Since that time, the Superstar has remained hopeful about his long road to recovery and an eventual return to in-ring action.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, however, it appears unlikely that the former American Alpha member will be returning to in-ring competition.

At the time of writing, Jason Jordan is still listed on the RAW roster. Since his surgery, WWE allowed Jordan to work as a backstage producer. All parties hoped it would only be a matter of time before Jordan would be healthy enough to return. In January, it was reported that he was doing better but still had issues gripping and making a fist.

It was noted that it is now less likely that Jason Jordan will return to competitive action. There has been talk previously that his wrestling career was sadly over. This speculation came in the wake after numerous posts by Jordan to his social media accounts. In those posts, he seemed optimistic about his recovery and believed that, despite being on the road to recovery, would eventually get back into the ring.

Back in November 2018, Jordan wrote the following on his Instagram:

“I’m ready to attack this week and make huge improvements! I’ve been trying to keep my eye on the prize and look at the big picture. I’m still on the road to recovery and I’m very optimistic about getting back to where I belong!”

Information On Chad Gable’s Current Push

Despite having the crux of his recent push revolve around jokes regarding his height, Chad Gable is still considered as in the middle of a push.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that, although Gable is doing a gimmick that suggests he is an undercard babyface, Vince McMahon allegedly likes and appreciates Gable and his work ethic. As far as Vince McMahon is concerned the jokes at his expense are still considered a push.

These jokes and jabs are apparently not designed to make fun of Gable. Instead, Vince McMahon believes they will help the WWE Universe get behind Gable as a sympathetic babyface.

King of The Ring

Gable competed in WWE’s recent King of the Ring tournament. He was able to get all the way to the finals, defeating Shelton Benjamin, Andrade and Shane McMahon. He was originally scheduled to face off against Elias in the semi-finals. It was revealed that Elias had suffered an injury, and so Shane McMahon replaced him.

He went on to face Baron Corbin in the finals on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. Despite his efforts, Corbin would emerge victorious.

Chad Gable ended up interrupting Baron Corbin’s coronation ceremony on SmackDown Live. With major wins over notable SmackDown Superstars, and Vince McMahon’s attitude regarding his push, Gable may still be primed for a continued push despite not winning the King of the Ring tournament.

Details On Maria Kanellis Pregnancy Storyline

WWE intends to add a few more twists and turns to their current storyline revolving around who the father is of Maria’s baby, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The idea is to draw out the revelation of who the father is, playing up the mystery angle of the story for ratings.

Maria Kanellis is currently 20 weeks pregnant. She revealed that she and her husband, Mike Kanellis, are expecting a baby boy. This week’s episode of Monday Night RAW saw her claim that Ricochet is the father to her unborn child. Ricochet insisted that Maria was lying, which she admitted after Mike suffered a loss to Ricochet in a matchup.

After the match, Maria would berate Mike Kanellis as he sat dejected on the ring apron. Maria would then go on to tease who the real father of her baby is, with Rusev’s music hitting signalling his return. Rusev then destroyed Mike in his second squash match of the night.

At the time of writing, there is no information as to who WWE will eventually name as the father. It’s reported that it won’t be Rusev. It’s alleged that the baby storyline will be portrayed more like a running joke rather than a serious storyline.

Dominik Dijakovic Fires Back At Kenny Omega For Comments About NXT

Dominik Dijakovic will face Keith Lee next week live on NXT. The 32-year-old responded to Kenny Omega’s recent comments regarding NXT “developmental talent” with the following Tweet:

https://twitter.com/DijakovicWWE/status/1174760846708412421

Omega responded with the following GIF:

Kenny Omega Says AEW Will Showcase Real Stars, Not Developmental Talent

“You can call it a war if you want,” Omega said in a recent interview with Sportskeeda. “It’s like, to me, we’re in a completely different kind of business. I mean what they’re doing is different from what we’re doing. It’s weird, because it’s hard to say you’re going to war with people that I call my friends. And yet, we are going to war.”

Omega continued, “And yet, when I sit back and look at the grand picture, I’m going to war with these dudes that, if we were on the same show together, the same promotion…let’s pretend there were no borders. Let’s pretend there were no promotions. Let’s just pretend there’s just one big promotion. If these guys were in the same show as me, they’d be in the dark match. They’d be in the opening match of my main event match.”

NXT Star Set For Surgery After Recent Injury

Former Impact Wrestling star and current NXT talent Joaquin Wilde is set to undergo surgery for a broken eye socket soon, according to reports from Pro Wrestling Sheet.

The wrestling star suffered the injury back in July while training. The incident in which he got injured was described as a “freak accident” by the sources.

At the time, Doctors had held off the surgery to see if the injury would heal without it but now they have decided that operation is the best option to deal with the issue.

His expected return date is not known yet but the word is that he won’t be out for long and he will miss a few more weeks of action after the procedure is done.

Joaquin started his wrestling training in 2003 and he made his debut after almost a year in August 2004. He spent the next few years wrestling for various companies in the independent circuit.

His first big break in the business came when TNA signed him in 2011. He started wrestling for them under the ring name DJZ and won a number of championships during his run with the promotion including the X Division title.

He left the company in December last year and in May it was announced by WWE that they have signed the former Impact Wrestling star to a development contract.

Man Arrested For Filming People Urinating At RAW

A man was arrested in Knoxville, Tennessee Monday night for allegedly filming people urinating in the bathroom of the Thompson-Boling Arena. The venue was hosting WWE RAW at the time. According to a report from WVLT, 25-year-old Tyler Bolinger is alleged to have filmed multiple people urinating, including a uniformed police officer.

Bolinger has been charged with disseminating unlawful photographs and public intoxication. The arresting officer was at the venue and was flagged down by a man and his son who said they saw Bolinger filming people in the bathroom. Bolinger is said to have admitted to consuming 5 to 6 alcoholic beverages and filming at least two people urinating.

“As he was showing us his phone, Mr. Bolinger then closed the phone saying there was nothing there,” the officer’s report reads. He also noted that the venue was “was quite populated and also had minors present” in his report. The officer stated the video “also had what appeared to be a Snapchat caption across” it.

Disseminating unlawful photographs is a Class E felony and Bolinger could face 1 to 6 years in prison as a result.

The former IC Champion also discussed their upcoming show on TNT saying that they want to provide “bell-to-bell sports-centric pro-wrestling.”
