Bayley: It ‘Kills Me’ That Peyton Royce ‘Hasn’t Had That Spotlight Yet’

Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley has praised former IIconics member Peyton Royce. During an interview with the Table Talk podcast, Bayley shared how she’s “always seen something” in Royce. She added how the Raw Superstar simply hasn’t “had that spotlight yet” to stand out.

Bayley explained how both Peyton Royce and Billie Kay lived with her when they first moved to America. She shared how it was difficult for them to find a place to live at first or even get a car. Bayley noted how she actually knew Kay already but had yet to meet Royce at the time.

“I didn’t know Peyton at all but she was awesome and super sweet. Once I saw her get in the ring, I was like, wow dude, you’re incredible,” Bayley stated. “I’ve always had an eye for her. She just hasn’t had the time to show that even when IIconics were the Tag Team Champions. She just hasn’t had that spotlight yet. It kills me that she hasn’t had that yet.”

Bayley also discussed her heel turn. She admitted it was “hard to switch” from her happy, bubbly character to the angrier, more sullen version she currently portrays.

“[…] it’s just as hard to try to change my whole personality and just be mad all the time and to find reasons to be angry,” Bayley explained. “[…] It was definitely hard to switch. It was definitely harder than I thought it was going to be. But now it is so much fun. I think I’ve found my niche where I can find a piece of my personality in it and use that to make this bigger.”

Bayley competed during last Sunday’s Survivor Series event. She participated as a member of Team SmackDown. Team Raw would eventually win the Traditional 5-on-5 elimination matchup. Lana would be Raw’s sole survivor.

Sasha Banks Dreams Of Being A General Manager, Teases Future Projects Outside WWE

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks has shared what her future ambitions look like, both in and outside of pro wrestling.

When asked what could be next for “The Boss” during an interview with Stephanie Chase, Banks explained how she’d love to be a WWE shareholder. Furthermore, she dreams of being a general manager.

“To be a shareholder in the WWE, maybe take over Vince’s job. [It] is a dream of mine to be a general manager, make billions. There’s just so much more to do,” Banks said. “In WWE, you can absolutely be anything and everything, so my goals are not stopping here just because I’m the Grand Slam Champion.”

Banks also discussed the possibility of a clothing line or getting into music in the future. She admitted she could see “all of that” happening before revealing she has numerous plans lined up.

“I have plans for many incredible big things for myself. I’m really excited for the future,” Banks shared. “I’ve been stopping non-stop since 2020 to accomplish all my dreams that I’ve had since I was a little girl. So wrestling’s not the only thing, but you can expect all of that in the future, yes.”

Sasha Banks competed during last Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view. She faced off against Raw Women’s Champion Asuka in a Champion vs. Champion bout that she eventually won.

Booker T Reflects On His Friendship With The Undertaker

Following The Undertaker’s ‘Final Farewell’ at Survivor Series, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has looked back on his friendship with “The Dead Man.”

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T shared how, although he was a similar age to The Undertaker and both men are from Texas, he “looked at Taker a little bit different from the rest of the boys in the locker room” when he first came into the then-WWF.

He explained how he couldn’t help but look at him differently because he was The Undertaker. Booker T added how “everyone else” also looked at him differently because of who he was and what he had accomplished.

It’s a respect that Booker T was adamant he give to “The Phenom.”

“I made sure when I came in the WWF, WWE now, that I wasn’t coming in saying, hey, I’m here. It wasn’t anything like that. I said I’m going to come in here and make this thing work out. Taker was the first guy to come up to me and say, ‘Take it all in. It’s WrestleMania. It doesn’t get any bigger than this. Just slow it down and have some fun out there.'”

Booker T revealed that The Undertaker was the first person to invite him into the TV locker room. He explained how only eight people were in there, but he was chosen to join them. Despite ‘Taker’s invitation, however, Booker T declined the offer.

“I didn’t take it upon myself to dress in the TV locker room. I made sure I dressed in the locker room with all the boys and there were probably 30 plus guys in there,” Booker T explained. “He was gracious enough to see something in me as well. I thought that was pretty cool.”

He continued, “But to watch him the way he came up and the way he did it, not just with one guy or two guys. The Undertaker did it with every guy on the roster. He put Maven over. People don’t remember that kind of stuff. People don’t see that kind of stuff. They don’t understand. It’s like the wind. They can feel it but they can’t touch it.”

Booker T then noted how fans don’t get to see many Superstars celebrate 30-year careers. He acknowledged how people may work for 20 years in the industry; however, they wouldn’t consistently perform in the way The Undertaker did.

He added how modern Superstars should “pick the brain” of The Undertaker and experienced Superstars like him. Booker T argued they should be focused on asking critical questions about longevity as wrestling “is not about how fast you do it.”

Eric Bischoff Explains Why He ‘Always Hated’ The Abyss Character

Former WCW President Eric Bischoff recalled his time in TNA during a recent episode of his podcast 83 Weeks. He and Conrad Thompson discussed TNA’s 2010 Bound For Glory pay-per-view.

During the episode, Eric Bischoff shared his thoughts on Abyss, describing him as a wonderful human being who was “stuck on this Mick Foley ripoff character.” It was a gimmick Bischoff confessed he always hated.

“Abyss is a wonderful human being. He is an amazingly talented guy but he was stuck on this Mick Foley ripoff character. I always hated that character, I couldn’t stand it when I was in TNA,” Bischoff said. “I couldn’t wait to get Abyss out of the Abyss character and get him into the Chris Park character which he did a phenomenal job at.”

Abyss competed against Rob Van Dam in a Monster’s Ball match on the card. Despite the match stipulations intending to, in theory, favor Abyss, Van Dam would emerge victorious from their bout.

In 2019, Chris Parks, who portrayed Abyss in TNA, signed a contract with WWE. He currently works for the company as a producer. He made his on-screen debut during the August 14 episode of SmackDown, appearing as AJ Styles’ statistician during Styles’ feud with Jeff Hardy.

The Young Bucks Talk Mick Foley’s Influence on Their New Book

The Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson, recently appeared on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio. The AEW Tag Team Champions discussed a number of topics during their time on the show; these included their time in IMPACT, changing their working style and writing their new autobiography.

Matt Jackson would start by saying how much of an influence Mick Foley’s ‘Have a Nice Day’ book was when he was younger. “Ever since I was a kid I remember reading Mick Foley’s Have a Nice Day. It was when I was a freshman, I think it was in my language arts class?”

The Young Bucks on Autobiography

“Miss Mira, for some reason she had that book on her bookshelf” Matt Jackson would continue. “I picked it up, I read it and I fell in love with it. I remember telling myself at the end like ‘man if I ever have a career worth writing about that would be so cool!’ So it was always a dream of mine to write a book.”

Jackson would then describe how they were contacted by Harper Collins, one of the major global publishers. “We got an offer from from HarperCollins publishing, which is one of the biggest in the world. When HarperCollins calls? You pick up, you know? At the time Nick and I were going through a really strange thing in our career, like a kind of a fork in the road.”

Matt Jackson would then say how the timing of the book coincided with the Young Bucks getting an offer from WWE. “There was the big decision to be made, whether or not we’re gonna go to WWE or if we’re gonna start this new thing (AEW). And I remember thinking to myself like ‘this is worth documenting’ and we do have a really interesting story. It’s a story that is kind of different than all the other wrestling books you’ve probably read from the the Attitude Era guys.”

“I think we have a unique story” Matt Jackson continued. “We were the first guys from the independent ‘boom’ era that have really had a chance to write our story. I was going to say put pen to paper but it wasn’t even been to paper! It was literally all written on our iPhones in between business trips and in hotel rooms and while I was at the bus stop waiting for my daughter to get picked up from school. We were literally writing this thing while we were opening up AEW so it was really terrible timing, actually.”

Jon Moxley On WWE Superstars Being Independent Contractors, Why He’s Frugal With Money

All Elite Wrestling World Champion Jon Moxley has shared his thoughts on how WWE considers its talent to be independent contractors. He stressed how WWE’s terminology “is not true.” Moxley broached the issue while appearing on the debut episode of Renee Young’s new podcast, Oral Sessions.

“When I was doing my taxes in WWE, because you’re an independent contractor – which is not true – you’re a fu–ing employee,” Moxley explained. “So, you have to pay your taxes. In the developmental first couple of years, I didn’t make that much money. I was able to do them myself on TurboTax.”

When Jon Moxley first began to earn a lot of money in WWE, he confessed the tax situation became confusing. He sought out the help of an accountant and a financial advisor who asked what he wanted to do with the money. Aware that “this could all end tomorrow,” Moxley wanted to save as much as he could. That way, he’d be covered in case anything happened.

“That was my plan when I just started to make a little money in WWE. I was going to hoard it and save it because this could end at any moment,” Moxley said. “Went up, and had really nice, long run. Went over five years, but I still have that same mentality. I don’t ever want to depend on anyone else for a paycheck if that was the case.”

Moxley added how he still doesn’t like to spend money. Despite all his success, Moxley maintains a savings mindset that sees him continue to be frugal with his earnings instead of suddenly becoming something he’s not.

Jon Moxley is set to defend his AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega. The two clash on the December 2 episode of AEW Dynamite, entitled AEW Winter is Coming.

Keith Lee To Feature In Upcoming Episode Of WWE 24

WWE Raw Superstar Keith Lee is set to be featured in an upcoming episode of WWE Network’s documentary series, WWE 24. Lee shared the news via Twitter. He acknowledged how, despite everything happening in the world, he is thankful.

Lee wrote: “Amidst all the currents of this world… I am thankful. The people close to me. The #WWEUniverse. Struggles… victories. All of it built this…so far. The people who helped create this little piece of me. I look forward to offering it to you…the #Leegion #HappyThanksgiving”

Keith Lee: WWE 24

WWE 24 first debuted on the WWE Network back in 2015 with a special episode sharing behind-the-scenes insight into the production of WrestleMania XXX.

The series has since covered not only events but the lives of some of WWE’s top Superstars. The documentary follows them for 24 hours, providing a “lightning-fast journey through a day in the life of WWE’s most intriguing Superstars.”

Keith Lee was enjoying a main event run in NXT earlier this year. He not only won the NXT North American Championship but also the NXT Championship in 2020. He would eventually drop the NXT Championship to Karrion Kross at NXT TakeOver XXX on August 22 prior to his main roster debut on Monday Night Raw on August 24.

Seth Rollins Provides Becky Lynch Pregnancy Update Ahead Of Due Date

Seth Rollins has provided a pregnancy update for his fiancee, Becky Lynch, during an interview with WWE Network. The excited couple is anticipating the birth of their first child in December.

“She’s doing really well. Our due date is fast approaching. It’s crazy to think we’ll be parents soon,” Rollins said. “I’m sure she’s ready to get back to work just like we all are. But yeah, she’s been so incredible through the entire pregnancy.”

Rollins noted how WWE’s reduced schedule due to the coronavirus pandemic has meant he’s been able to be at home more with Lynch as they count down the days. He explained how on WWE’s regular travel schedule, “we’re always traveling and never get to be home.”

He acknowledged how, on a personal level, “The timing of that worked out really well. It’s a nice break for me both physically and mentally.”

Seth Rollins competed during last Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view. He was a member of Team SmackDown. Rollins sacrificed himself “for the greater good” as Team Raw eventually worked towards a clean sweep victory.

He has now reportedly been written off of WWE programming, allowing him time away from the ring in preparation for his child’s birth. At the time of writing, Rollins is expected to be gone until some time in January.

Ricky Starks On Joining AEW, Answering Cody’s TNT Open Challenge

All Elite Wrestling star Ricky Starks recently appeared on Chris Van Vliet’s podcast. The current member of Taz’s on-screen stable discussed a number of topics during the show; these included including how signed with AEW and being friends with The Undertaker.

“I didn’t re-sign with NWA, I told them ‘no thank you I’m, I’m good'” Starks began on the show. “Then this pandemic started. I remember watching AEW Dynamite. It was the night that Cody came out and said that he would be issuing an open challenge; and then he went on Twitter and said ‘this is open to anybody.'”

Ricky Starks on TNT Open Challenge

Ricky Starks’ first appearance in AEW was the aforementioned TNT Open Challenge issued by Cody Rhodes. Starks would outlay how the opportunity arose for him to get a shot at the title. “The next day Thursday I was at the gym, and this vision came to me, where I was like, ‘I could see myself walking out [on Dynamite]. I could see myself cutting this promo, and it just this huge thing right?”

“And so, that Sunday? I got a text message from from AEW saying ‘hey, there’s a opportunity here to challenge for the title, are you interested?'” Ricky Starks would continue. “The funny thing is? I thought that was just a one off thing. In my head? I thought I would wrestle, go back on the Indies and raise my rate, then build my stock.”

“Absolute” Ricky Starks (Photo: AEW)

Starks would then state that he was shocked when he got the call to be signed, mainly because he wasn’t expecting any companies to be hiring during the pandemic.

“I didn’t think that they were hiring. I just, I figured ‘we’re in a pandemic no one’s hiring.’ So yeah, I came to the back [after the Cody match] and really didn’t hear much, just it was good, you know? Just a good reaction to the match, but that was it. And then when it aired? I got a call from Tony Khan and kind of went from there.”

Tama Tonga Talks Why Bullet Club Has Endured and Resonated with Fans

New Japan Pro Wrestling star and Bullet Club member Tama Tonga recently discussed what has made BC such a lasting force in pro wrestling. Tonga commented on the long running stable during the latest episode of his Tama’s Island podcast.

The group was initially formed back in 2013, with Prince Devitt/Finn Balor, Karl Anderson, Tama Tonga and Bad Luck Fale becoming the nucleus and initial core group of foreign talent to call themselves Bullet Club.

Bullet Club would add (and then later throw out) some of the biggest names in pro wrestling. AJ Styles, Adam Cole, Kenny Omega and Adam ‘Hangman’ Page are all alumni of the prestigious group.

Tama Tonga on Bullet Club

“It was the foreigners doing it big in Japan” Tama Tonga would state on the podcast, saying why the group began to gain momentum. “When Americans could see like these Americans doing it so big in Japan? I think that was something they gravitated to, it was awesome.”

Tama Tonga would then heavily praise the ‘second wave’ of members who joined the group. Most notably, The Young Bucks Matt and Nick Jackson. “Another thing was The Bucks” Tonga stated. “The Buck were red hot and on the indie scenes. They brought over a lot of fans to watch us [in NJPW].”

Tonga would finish by saying that the way the group utilized social media was also a massive part of their growth and enduring nature. “It was just some of our like social media things that we were doing up there. It was this against the grain type attitude, It was just cool, it was. We’re just cool.”

Bully Ray: “Undertaker Has Now Become an ‘Adrenaline Shot’ To WWE”

WWE Hall of Famer and co-host of SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio Bully Ray recently commented on the retirement of the Undertaker. ‘Taker of course had his ‘Final Farewell’ at Survivor Series this past weekend, with several legends and even a hologram Paul Bearer paying tribute to the WWE icon.

There has been talk of Undertaker potentially returning for one more bout, especially when there are crowds allowed in arenas once again. Bully Ray however believes that this is really it for the Deadman.

Bully Ray on The Undertaker

“After what Steve [Austin] said to him on the Broken Skull Sessions about ‘you’ve had your last match? I think that this could be it” Bully Ray would begin on the show. “I think ‘Taker now goes into the ‘in case of extreme emergency break glass’ category.”

Bully Ray would elaborate on this point, saying how Undertaker is a last ditch attraction now if all else fails. “I think Taker has now become an adrenaline shot to WWE. If someone’s dying and you can’t bring them back with the heart paddles? You stick a needle in their heart that’s full of adrenaline. I think that ‘Taker goes into that category now.

“Only if there’s some kind of disaster and Vince needs something? Do you call the Deadman” Bully continued. “But for the most part? I think, yep, that’s it. And you know what? It should be. What else is he going to do? What else is there left for him to do?”

Do you agree with Bully Ray? Do you think that Undertaker is finally finished as an in-ring competitor? Let us know in the comments

Shane Helms Comments On Cameos In Pro Wrestling

Shane Helms recently appeared in a cameo during All Elite Wrestling’s Elite Deletion matchup. He made an appearance during the bout between Matt Hardy and Sammy Guevara as The Hurricane. He wasn’t the only one to appear during the matchup, however, with Gangrel also making an appearance.

According to Helms, pro wrestling should utilize more cameo appearances like this. On a recent episode of the ROH Strong podcast, Helms revealed how he had been pitching cameos to WWE for years.

“As far as multiple guests, that was something I had been putting in Matt’s ear for years because I tried to get WWE to do it on my first run,” Helms said. “Leading up to like the Raw Anniversary shows, they would bring in a surprise and the crowd would always go crazy.”

Helms continued, “I couldn’t figure out why they wouldn’t do that more. There are so many guys from WWE’s history that would come in for two or three weeks and the crowd wanted them there.”

Shane Helms On Pitching WWE

According to Helms, he frequently pitched WWE to bring in names from its past. He argued that it was obvious fans loved seeing old faces. Helms then pointed to the reception those names would get on the independent scene as evidence of this:

“They have a core group of guys and then they bring in an old school television character. It was working on the Independent level, I promise it would work on this level and in turn it would make the Independent scene hotter.”

Shane Helms one of many WWE personnel to be furloughed and subsequently released by WWE earlier this year. WWE cited the release as a decision due to the coronavirus pandemic’s impact on business. He has since been rehired by WWE.

Details Behind Braun Strowman’s Recent Storyline Suspension

Braun Strowman was reportedly in line for a WWE Championship opportunity at the upcoming TLC pay-per-view. However, WWE announced a storyline suspension for the big man after he delivered a head-butt to producer Adam Pearce.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the reason for the alleged change may stem from a potential injury. Dave Meltzer stated, “I have not got anything confirmed [but] there’s a story going around that there was an injury and that this tournament was a last-minute thing because Strowman was gonna get the title shot but he’s injured and that’s why they did the headbutt thing and the suspension to cover up an injury.”

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre’s opponent will now be determined via a Triple Threat match scheduled for next week’s Raw. This week’s episode featured a series of one-on-one bouts. The winners of each match earned a place in the triple threat.

Braun Strowman’s Potential TLC Opportunity

It was explained that if Strowman is medically cleared before the pay-per-view, he may ultimately get the WWE Championship shot against McIntyre at TLC. If not, however, WWE already has a contingency plan in place.

“I don’t even know if the injury story is legit. The story is that he got a knee injury at the elimination match [at Survivor Series] but I don’t know that the story is accurate. I’ve heard it, I heard that what was the tournament was for but it still could just be a storyline and Braun is getting the title shot anyway.”

Braun Strowman competed during last Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view. He participated in the traditional 5-on-5 elimination matchup representing Team Raw. Team Raw soundly defeated Team SmackDown with a ‘clean sweep’ victory.

Bully Ray: Roman Reigns Vs. Drew McIntyre Delivered What Modern Pro Wrestling Is Missing

Bully Ray has shared his thoughts on the Champion vs. Champion matchup between Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns that took place at Survivor Series.

Speaking on his SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray stressed how the bout not only met but exceeded his expectations. He believed the two clashed in Survivor Series “match of the night” and successfully delivered a “big fight feel.”

“We had a big fight feel last night. We had both of the WWE Champions in there,” Bully Ray said. “We had two big men in there, we had two men that look like what a pro wrestler should look like, two men who laid their stuff in. It looked like a fight. It felt like a spirited contest; It felt like something!”

He explained how their matchup wasn’t just two Superstars going “through the motions.” Instead, it was apparent both McIntyre and Reigns “had a will, and a desire, and a passion to win.”

Bully Ray On What The Bout Delivered

This mentality translated to Bully Ray becoming invested in the match. He then highlighted the psychology implemented throughout. Bully Ray pointed to the ending of the bout and shared how he enjoyed the finish.

“I liked what they did at the end when Roman had that choke on after the nut shot, and the interference from Roman’s cousin. When he had that front choke on and was holding on for dear life and Drew got the one leg, I was like, ‘Wow, is he actually going to make it out of this?'”

That uncertainty is what Bully Ray believes takes a fan on a “great ride” with pro wrestling. He noted that what Reigns and McIntyre delivered at Survivor Series was “drama,” something he claimed is majorly lacking in modern pro wrestling.

Drew McIntyre ultimately lost to Roman Reigns at Survivor Series following interference from Reigns’ cousin, Jey Uso.

The Rock On Embracing Authenticity, Asking Vince McMahon For Promo Opportunity

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has reflected on the start of his career, revealing which moment gave him the biggest rush during an interview with One Glass with Glazer.

Whilst talking with the show’s host, Jay Glazer, Johnson discussed his start in then-WWF. He shared how it’s hard to pick just one moment as he’s been blessed with so many memorable career highlights. When pressed to pick one, however, Johnson pointed to the moment he was “[…] able to speak my mind and be authentic in the WWE.”

He recalled how he was a babyface when he first debuted for the promotion. Johnson then shared the advice he was given by WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon: smile.

“I was told by Vince McMahon, who was a very close friend of mine still today, is a mentor in the world of business, he would tell me, ‘You gotta go out there, you gotta smile, you just gotta… you just gotta smile!'”

Johnson continued, “This was my rookie year, so you can imagine. Smile! So, I said OK, and again, you’re pissing vinegar… you’re ready to get out there and bang, man. And he said, ‘I want you to be… you’re grateful that you’re here, so you gotta smile.’ And then I would go out and I would hear these fans, they just knew that I wasn’t being authentic. You know, and they would be like… ‘You f–king suck!’ And I would smile, ‘Hey, thank you, man! I know I do, right?’ I gotta smile.”

Dwayne Johnson On Becoming The Rock

Vince McMahon eventually had Johnson turn heel, turning him into The Rock. At that point, Johnson knew it was time to ask for some promo time. He approached Vince and asked for two minutes on a microphone during a live Raw so he could speak his mind.

“Vince McMahon said, ‘OK, you got two minutes.’ I said, ‘Alright.’ I grabbed the microphone on live TV, which that’s a lot, man, because at that time there was just two hours of RAW live, that’s it. Pass me the ball, that was it. Just give me one shot.”

Dwayne Johnson promised Vince that if his promo bombed, he would never have to give him mic time again. He shared how he made the most of the opportunity afforded him by being as real and genuine as possible whilst also embracing who The Rock was.

“[…] I said, ‘I may be a lot of things, but sucks isn’t one of them.’ And I said, ‘Me joining The Nation is not a black thing, it’s not a white thing, it’s a respect thing, and I’m gonna earn it every night by kicking that ass.’ You know, and I start talking a little s–t, but it was in that moment, that you could feel the crowd of 15,000 or 20,000 people go, ‘That’s real. What he just said, he just spoke from the heart.'”

According to Johnson, that promo and opportunity helped lead to the birth of The Rock and all that the character would become.

Before he made his way into the arena, cameras caught up with Richard Holliday. The Dynasty member gave a quick update on Hammerstone, who was attacked last week by a mysterious new member of Contra Unit. Holliday said Hammerstone will be fine and that who attacked him isn’t what’s important right now. He then walked past former Dynasty member, Gino Medina, who was talking on his phone. Holliday stopped as he heard Medina insult him in Spanish. The two then got into a debate over whether Medina was fired from the Dynasty by Holliday or if he quit. It seems some tension is building between the two former stablemates.

“Filthy” Tom Lawlor Defeats Rocky Romero, Advances In Opera Cup

We had a veteran of New Japan Pro Wrestling against a veteran of the UFC and former MLW World Champion, Tom Lawlor in the main event this week. It was a highly competitive match and in the end neither wrestler would really prove dominance but one would come away with the victory. The finish of the match came when Lawlor was in the process of locking in a rear-naked choke but just when Rocky had fought out of the move, Lawlor responded by wrapping Romero up in a pinning combination for a 3-count.

After the match, Lawlor cut a promo expressing his frustration with not being booked in the tournament last year. He said that soon the names on the trophy like Stu Hart and George Hackenschmidt will be joined by his.

‘Roman Reigns Is The Most Compelling Character Of The Past 20 Years’ – JBL

John Bradshaw Layfield believes that WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is the most “compelling character” he’s seen in the past twenty years.

JBL shared his thoughts when he recently appeared on WWE’s The Bump. He immediately praised The Tribal Chief. Accoding to JBL, Reigns has impressed him more than anything else he’s seen in two decades.

“Roman Reigns to me is the most compelling character I’ve seen on television, I think in twenty years, it’s unbelievable how good he is,” JBL stated. “That character, the way it’s just transitioned and become the head of the table, I’m a huge fan.”

He was then asked about Reigns’ recent Champion vs. Champion clash with Drew McIntyre at Survivor Series. JBL shared how their match “lived up to every bit of the hype.”

He noted how meeting and surpassing people’s expectations is “[…] hard to do when you talk about having a true heavyweight matchup like they had. You had two great champions and both of those guys are in the prime of their life.”

Earlier this year, John Bradshaw Layfield was announced as an inductee into the 2020 Hall of Fame. He joined other 2002 inductees, including Batista, the nWo, The British Bulldog, Jushin “Thunder” Liger, and The Bella Twins.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, however, WWE’s Hall of Fame ceremony was forced to postpone. The 2020 Class will now be inducted during the lead up to 2021’s WrestleMania 37 pay-per-view.

The Young Bucks Explain Why They Don’t Watch NXT

Despite All Elite Wrestling being embroiled in a ratings war every week with WWE’s NXT, AEW Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks, have shared that they don’t really watch the competition.

Speaking with WrestlingInc to promote their new book, Killing The Business: From Backyards To The Big Leagues, The Young Bucks addressed their Wednesday night rivals, acknowledging how they’re just too busy putting on a show to give any attention to NXT.

“I forget that they have shows,” Matt Jackson revealed. “It’s tunnel vision to our own product. It’s like, ‘Oh yeah, that’s right. There’s another show tonight. That’s right.'”

His brother, Nick, explained how this focused approach encapsulates the mentality within AEW and amongst its creative team. According to him, knowing what WWE is doing could “screw up” how AEW book things.

“[…] that’s the mentality of Dynamite and AEW is we’d never wanted to know what that show is doing because we feel like if we do know, then it might screw up our brains and our minds on how we book things as well,” Nick shared. “So we never have wanted to get caught up in any of that.”

The Young Buck’s book, Killing The Business: From Backyards To The Big Leagues, is available now.

Drew McIntyre Promises To Do ‘Whatever It Takes’ To Get WWE To Host Major Show In The UK

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre intends to “harass” Vince McMahon until WWE hosts a pay-per-view in the United Kingdom.

“My goal is to make it happen in future and it’s going to happen because I’m gonna harass [WWE chief executive] Vince McMahon until it does,” McIntyre revealed in an interview with The Scotsman. “I talk a lot of crap online with Tyson Fury and Chris Sutton in particular – but whatever it takes to get the UK a significant PPV I’ll do.”

McIntyre went on to divulge he has plans in place that he won’t publicly talk about just yet. However, he stressed that one plan “[…] that WILL happen, is getting a WWE PPV back to the UK.”

McIntyre has been vocal in the past about his desire to see WWE return to the United Kingdom with a major event. The last time WWE did so was for its SummerSlam pay-per-view way back in 1992.

Drew McIntyre recently competed in a Champion vs. Champion matchup at WWE’s Survivor Series event. He faced off against SmackDown’s Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Despite his best efforts, however, McIntyre would lose the match following interference from Jey Uso. Reigns would then sink in a guillotine choke on McIntyre, who passed out.

Jon Moxley On Listening To His Body More, Traveling With The Shield

Jon Moxley was the first guest on Renee Young’s new podcast, Oral Sessions. During the interview with his real-life wife, Moxley opened up about learning how to take care of his body throughout his career. He also shared what it was like to travel the road with his former Shield stablemates, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.

Moxley confessed he used to make the mistake of working all the time. He noted how the work ultimately paid off. However, he stressed that it is important to “work smarter and not harder.”

“I have to work. I can’t sit around and do nothing. A rest day is good for recovery,” Moxley explained. “I’m about to be 35. The career I had before this – as far as deathmatches and a lot of stupid stuff I did to my body – all the time in WWE, years of literally going through multiple tables every single night and driving a zillion miles. I haven’t missed a day of work in years.”

He admitted he can now feel his “physical window.” Although he stressed it’s not necessarily closing, it’s something he is acutely aware of. Moxley shared how he wants to maintain a state of wellbeing as he wants to continue wrestling until he’s 50. He noted how he’ll be making a career decision based on his physical condition in the next year or two.

Jon Moxley On Traveling With The Shield

Turning his attention to his time in WWE as part of The Shield, Moxley opened up about WWE’s grueling travel schedule. Despite the non-stop travel, he admitted he didn’t mind it as much as others, labeling the experience as an “adventure.”

“Those first couple of years, me and The Shield were on the road every week for two years straight – be home for 36 hours. I wouldn’t even go home,” Moxley said. “I would just go to the next town because of going to [my home in] Vegas and turning right back around. I didn’t mind. It was an adventure back then. I was having a great time.”

Jon Moxley is set to defend his AEW Championship against Kenny Omega. The two clash on the December 2nd episode of AEW Dynamite, entitled AEW Winter is Coming.

Omega Responded To Moxley

Kenny suggested that Moxley leave the “garbage wrestling” at home for a night and try to beat him in a straight up match. Omega then referenced Moxley’s promo from last week about his father and Kenny claimed that he could beat the sh*t out of Jon’s dad.

Cody Interrupted Taz

Taz made his way to the ring following Hobbs’ victory. Taz claimed Starks and Brian Cage are out celebrating their victory from last week and Hobbs should do the same. Hobbs went backstage and Taz shifted his focus to AEW not acknowledging the FTW Championshionship.

Taz demanded that someone from AEW management come to the ring and explain to him why. His mic was cut and he demanded another microphone from Justin Roberts. Taz threatened to go grab a headset from commentary before Cody interrupted. Cody told Taz that he is wasting time and announced that he will team up with Darby Allin next week to face Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks.

Cody asked if that was enough and Taz demanded that AEW put some respect on the FTW Championship. Cody said that he will run it up the flag pole and Taz joked that Cody is going to say “creative has nothing for him” next. Cody mentioned that Taz’s son, Hook, is training with him and not Taz. Taz got pissed off and got in Cody’s face. Taz tried to choke Cody out but the Gunn Glub and Dustin Rhodes broke it up. Taz then went to the back with Hook behind him.

Moxley Confronted Kingston

Alex Marvez interviewed Eddie Kingston backstage during tonight’s episode of Dynamite. Kingston said he is not surprised that Fenix left the family but is really disappointed in Pentagon. Kingston added that things have changed since PAC wasn’t around and it is not over until he says so. AEW Champion Jon Moxley interrupted and Kingston told him that he wasn’t the one who attacked him last week. Eddie told Moxley that he knows who it was to end the segment.

Vickie Guerrero Delivered A Lesson On Nepotism

Nyla Rose and Vickie Guerrero cut a backstage promo about nepotism. Vickie claimed that sounds like what Brandi Rhodes is doing with wrestlers like Big Swole and Red Velvet. Vickie added that Jade Cargill didn’t need to be influenced by her to injure Brandi’s arm. Vickie suggested that Brandi’s business plan is failing and should give her a call.

MJF Helped Hager & Jericho Defeat SCU

Chris Jericho and Jake Hager battled Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian tonight.

When Dynamite returned, Jake Hager was dominating Daniels in the ring. Jericho tagged in and walked right into a Dropkick. Daniels leaped across the ring and finally was able to tag in Kazarian. Frankie hit Jake with a Dropkick and connected with a Leg Drop on Jericho. Ortiz hopped on the apron but Frankie quickly knocked him to the floor.

MJF then hit Daniels with the Dynamite Diamond ring and Jericho followed it up with the Judas Effect for the pinfall victory. After the match, Inner Circle tried to beat Daniels and Frankie down some more but Scorpio Sky made the save by rushing the ring with a steel chair. It was later announced that Jericho will face Frankie Kazarian next week.

Moxley Attacked Omega & Signed The Contract

Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley had their contract signing for the AEW Championship match on December 2nd. The signing was supposed to take place last week but Moxley was attacked from behind.

Tony Schiavone was in the ring as Omega’s music hit. We see a silhouette of Omega but then AEW Champion Jon Moxley came up from behind him. Moxley attacked Omega and beat him all the way down to the ring. Jon put the title on the canvas and Omega put his hand on it. Moxley stomped on Kenny’s hand and followed it up with the Paradigm Shift on top of the AEW Championship.

Moxley demanded a mic and said that he doesn’t know who Omega hired last week but they did a terrible job. Jon added that they are now even and it is going to take everything Omega has if he wants to take the title away from him. Moxley said “win, lose, or draw, winter is coming for Kenny Omega”. Jon thanked Tony and signed the contract to end the segment.

Hikaru Shida Retained, Abadon Confronted Her

Anna Jay connected with a couple of chops before launching Shida into the barricade. Back in the ring, Anna connected with a Neckbreaker and asked Tay to give her a steel chair. The referee took the chair away but Silver slid a kendo stick into the ring. Anna hit Shida on the knee with it and then locked in the Queenslayer. Shida battled through the pain and escaped with an elbow to the back of Anna’s head.

Shida went for a Brainbuster but Anna countered into a Neckbreaker for a two count. Hikaru connected with a German Suplex and followed it up with a forearm to the back of Anna’s head for a two count. Shida then hit the Running Knee for the pinfall victory to retain the AEW Women’s Championship.

After the match, Shida celebrated on the entrance ramp with the AEW Women’s Championship. Abadon’s music hit and she began crawling towards Shida. Hikaru fell backwards and dropped her title. Abadon grabbed the AEW Women’s Championship and began licking it.

Lance Archer Attacked Kingston, Butcher & Blade

Match Recap: Pac and Fenix went right after Butcher and Blade and knocked them to the floor outside the ring. Back in the ring, Butcher and Blade connected with a Dropkick Gutwrench Slam combo on Pac. Fenix tagged in and applied an odd looking Armbar on Blade. A brawl broke out and all four wrestlers wound up on the canvas as Dynamite went to a break.

When Dynamite returned, Pac and Fenix isolated Blade in the corner of the ring. Butcher eventually was able to tag in and connected with a Chokeslam. Pac knocked Butcher off the apron and leveled Blade with a Dropkick. Pac followed it up with a Northern Lights Suplex and went for the cover but Blade was able to kick out at two.

Pac went for a Shooting Star Press but Blade got out of the way. Blade connected with a Powerslam and then the Doctor Bomb. Blade went for the cover but Fenix broke it up with Dropkick to Blade’s head. Eddie made his way to the ring as the Bunny hopped on the ring apron for a distraction. Butcher and Blade hit Fenix with a Powerbomb/Neckbreaker combo for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Kingston, Butcher, and Blade beat Death Triangle down as Bunny brought a chair into the ring. Kingston hit Pac with a couple of DDTs on top of the chair and set up for another one. Lance Archer then rushed the ring and made the save with Jake Roberts trailing behind him. Archer hit Butcher and Kingston with a Crossbody and then a brawl broke out. Kingston retreated out of the ring as Archer stared him down to end the show.

Opinion: This week’s Dynamite was another solid show and did a good job of hyping up next week’s big show. I loved the shot of Moxley showing up behind Omega during his entrance and that match should be epic on the “Winter is Coming” episode on December 2nd.

Ladder Match for WarGames Advantage

Heading into the show, WWE had announced an unknown Undisputed ERA member vs. an unknown Team McAfee member in a ladder match. The winner of this match gained the advantage for their upcoming WarGames Match.

The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish) vs. The Kings of NXT (Pat McAfee, Pete Dunne, NXT Tag Team Champions Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch) has been announced for the WarGames Match at this TakeOver special on December 6th.

Pete Dunne represented Team McAfee while Kyle O’Reilly repped Undisputed Era. WWE gave these guys about 15 minutes. Dunne sold his left knee throughout the match. Kyle was powerbombed onto a ladder in the corner. They did a suplex spot off the apron through a ladder.

Kyle hit a suplex onto another ladder. They brawled on top of the ladder until Dunne snapped Kyle’s fingers. Kyle knocked Dunne off the ladder and connected with a clothesline. Dunne hit Kyle a few times with a chair then suplexed him onto the barricade. Kyle tipped over the ladder sending Dunne crashing onto a ladder in the corner. A masked man came into the ring and pushed Kyle off the ladder, a nasty bump to the floor. Dunne got the briefcase.

Rhea Ripley Addresses Fans

Rhea Ripley did a promo following losing to NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai on last week’s episode of NXT. Post-match, Shirai and Ripley shook hands and hugged.

She noted that fans have been speculating about her future after last week’s loss. She noted that her hugging Io was all about respect. She noted that she’s here to get back the NXT Women’s Title and she won’t stop until she gets it.

This led to Candice LeRae and Storm coming out to the stage where LeRae mocked Rhea for her comments. She noted that Rhea talks a lot, but can’t back it up. Raquel comes out while holding Io, who is laid out.

They walked down to the ring and a brawl broke out. The numbers game got too much for Rhea and she was left in the ring.

Kushida vs. Timothy Thatcher

Kushida vs. Timothy Thatcher in a singles match took place.

This came after last week’s show that saw Kushida defeat Arturo Ruas and Thatcher defeat August Grey. Thatcher was confronted by Tommaso Ciampa after his win.

This contest actually saw Ciampa take a chair and sit at ringside for it. Kushida and Thatcher did some technical wrestling in the early going. Near the end of the match, they traded various submission holds such as an armbar and ankle lock.

Thatcher was bleeding from the nose. Ciampa got up from his chair and this led to Kushida locking in an arm submission for the win.

The KO Show

There was a KO Show segment with Kevin Owens and NXT North American Champion Leon Ruff. Aside from this segment, Owens also did commentary as he filled in for Wade Barrett on the show.

This was done to have Ruff talk about winning the NXT North American Championship from Johnny Gargano on NXT two weeks ago. Last week on NXT, a rematch took place but ended in a disqualification when Damien Priest punched Ruff so he would get disqualified and Gargano wouldn’t win the title.

Ruff noted that he signed his WWE deal seven weeks ago. A video package of him winning the title was shown. He said that having the title fall off of him was embarrassing, but winning the title was to prove the doubters wrong. Owens tried to encourage Ruff to continue to go forward but noted that Ruff needs to be loud about winning the title.

Ruff fired up. Owens was confused about Gargano not coming out and then he did. They did some comedy where Gargano didn’t want a chair so he threw it out. Priest came out and cut a promo. William Regal eventually came out to book a three-way match between Gargano, Ruff, and Priest with the North American Title on the line.

Title Match Set For WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames

A new match has been announced for the upcoming WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames.

On Wednesday’s episode of WWE NXT, there was a comedy segment during the Kevin Owens Show with WWE NXT North American Champion Leon Ruff, Johnny Gargano, and Damien Priest.

Gargano made his case for the third match with Ruff while Priest pointed out how he never got a rematch for the title that he lost.

NXT General Manager William Regal came out and booked a Triple Threat Match featuring all three stars with the title on the line at TakeOver.

On this same show, WWE confirmed that Toni Storm, Raquel Gonzalez, Indie Heartwell, and Dakota Kai have joined Candice LeRae’s team. They’ll take on Shotzi Blackheart’s team in a WarGames Match, which has yet to be announced.

Cameron Grimes vs. Dexter Lumis in a Strap Match was also added to the card.

WWE presents the NXT TakeOver: WarGames event on Sunday, December 6, 2020 in Orlando, Florida at the Capitol Wrestling Center and will air on the WWE Network.

Stephanie McMahon Confirms WWE Wanted To Have Fans Back At Shows In The Fall

Stephanie McMahon took part in Forbes CMO Summit Virtual Series to talk all things WWE.

During the appearance, the WWE Chief Brand Officer talked about how the company’s ratings fell because of the COVID-19 pandemic. McMahon also confirmed that WWE had hoped to have fans back in attendance at their shows this fall, but that didn’t happen.

“And without them [the fans], it’s just not the same. Our ratings fell off. We tried bringing in our developmental talent to see if that would help in terms of some type of audience.

It just wasn’t enough, and ultimately we had hoped to be back in arenas in the Fall but when we realized that wasn’t gonna happen, we doubled-down and invested with a new partner called The Famous Group and we now have nearly one thousand virtual fans.”

It had been reported several months ago that WWE had hoped to have fans back at shows way back in July. That hope had been pushed back for a few months until WWE decided to hold off on the idea.

There have been various reports about WWE moving WrestleMania 37 from California to Florida due to the states being different regarding COVID-19 protocols.
