Big E Wants To Open The Forbidden Door Between AEW & WWE

Big E would love to see wrestlers from AEW and WWE walk through the “Forbidden Door” and appear on each other’s programming.

The reigning WWE Champion discussed the ‘dream scenario’ during an appearance on Barstool’s My Mom’s Basement podcast with Robbie Fox.

“I have friends over there,” Big E said of AEW. “I have people who I think are incredibly talented, might not be friends, but I’m a fan of so much that is going on over there.”

Big E addressed the tribalism that exists between WWE and AEW fans. He’s not a fan of loving one and hating the other, but he’s glad people are engaged.

“I know fans love the sniping and love the back and forth, I think it’s often entertaining too. It’s not really my cup of tea because there are so many people I root for over there and I think competition is great for everyone, all around. I’m glad fans are engaged. It’s not my thing, but do you. People love pot-stirring and it’s interesting.”

Will we ever see a WWE vs. AEW crossover?

“I don’t know if it’s ever feasible, but is that forbidden door going to be open here, between us and them? Imagine that. That would be incredible.”

– Big E on a WWE vs. AEW Crossover

For now, we’ll have to settle for Raw vs. SmackDown. WWE Champion Big E battles Universal Champion Roman Reigns this Sunday at WWE Survivor Series.

Check out the My Mom’s Basement YouTube channel to see Robbie Fox’s recent interviews with Jon Moxley, CM Punk, Tony Khan and Liv Morgan.

WWE & AEW Working Together

The prospect of WWE and AEW working together seems far fetched, but that hasn’t stopped the industry’s most influential power players from talking about it.

When Triple H was asked about WWE possibly participating in a talent-sharing arrangement with other organizations, he said that WWE is “open for business.”

“Are we open to the right business opportunities? Yeah, at any given time we’re open to things. It just depends on what they are and if they’re beneficial to us in the long-term,” Triple H said.

“Open for business, I think Vince says that a lot and I’ve been around him long enough that if it’s the right thing and meaningful to business, he’s open to anything.”

Becky Lynch Watches AEW: “Competition is Great”

Becky Lynch revealed this week that she watches AEW and is happy that wrestling fans have an alternative product to watch.

“Competition is great,” she told Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour podcast. “It’s great for the creative because I think it drives everybody. I think Vince McMahon works incredibly well when he’s pushed by competition. I think for the stars it gives options.”

She likened the WWE or AEW choice to food preferences. If you don’t like vanilla ice ream, you can have chocolate. If you don’t like strawberries, you can have butterscotch.

“There’s options for fans, for wrestlers, and yeah it’s great.”

Keith Lee Responds To Claim That He Is Bitter About WWE Release

Keith Lee has responded to a fan claiming that he is bitter about not being good enough and getting released from WWE. The former WWE star recently made a post on Twitter waving goodbye to his singlet.

In response, a fan claimed that he is being bitter about getting dropped by the #1 wrestling company in the world. Lee reacted to this notion from the fan saying that it makes him laugh. He explained that he is grateful for his time within the promotion:

“Lol…this makes me laugh. It is quite clear that you are either intentionally ignorant, or just simply an imbecile. I am far from bitter. I am grateful. And nothing in this tweet says anything bitter. It merely says bye to a singlet and looks toward the future.”

Keith Lee went through some gimmick changes in the recent months leading to him being renamed to Bearcat Lee. Though his new persona was short-lived as the heavyweight star was released weeks later on November 4.

Assuming a standard 90 days non-compete clause, the former NXT champion should become a free agent in February next year. There is no word yet on what he is planning for his future but we will keep you updated.

Kenny Omega Confirms Hiatus From AEW Programming: “There Are Things I Got To Change”

Kenny Omega has confirmed that he will be taking time off from AEW programming after dropping the AEW world championship to Hangman Page during Full Gear.

The opening of this week’s Dynamite featured the Elite in a backstage segment. During the segment, the former AEW champion congratulated Page. He then claimed that there are things he needs to change.

“You know I haven’t watched the match back yet from Full Gear and people are already asking me when the rematch is gonna be. When are you gonna get your belt back Kenny. I lost that match; the elite lost the night.  Quite frankly I am a little disgusted.

Not in you hanger, you won. Congrats. Really congrats. I feel like there is things I gotta fix and there is things I gotta change and I can’t do it here. So if I can count on you to hold the fort while I am gone, I would really appreciate it”

This prompted a response from Adam Cole explaining that he will take care of things. However, Kenny Omega then cleared that he was talking to the Young Bucks.

The former NJPW star has been dealing with multiple nagging injuries for a while now. Word is that he is going to take time off for a shoulder surgery. Stay tuned for an update on how long he may stay out of action.

Drew McIntyre On What He Told Walter About His Match With Cesaro

Fans in the UK got to see a dream match during WWE’s recent tour when Walter faced Cesaro. Drew McIntyre who was also part of the tour had big praise for this encounter.

The former WWE champion recently appeared on Busted Open Radio. He talked about things such as how he wanted to hold the WWE title in front of fans and more.

Speaking of the fight between Walter and Cesaro, McIntyre said that it was awesome, before revealing what he told the UK star about his match:

“It was freaking awesome, I mean, Walter came and asked me after the first match, ‘just any thoughts?’ I told him exactly what it was. It’s a very simple story, two men that look like men, very physical, very logical.

Anybody can go in there and get it.” said Drew McIntyre, “Dads are going in there with their families, perhaps not current fans of the product are going to watch like that and talk about it the next day.”

This was one of the rare occasions where Walter interacted with a main roster star. The former NXT UK champion hasn’t been called up because he has been unwilling to move to US. Though latest reports suggest that this could be changing soon.

Apart from this, Drew McIntyre also talked about the sword he usage in his entrance. He revealed that the sword travels in a private plane because it can’t get through TSA.

AEW Dynamite Results (11/17): CM Punk & MJF, Bryan Danielson & Hangman Page, Title Match

AEW Dynamite aired live from the Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. It was the first episode of Dynamite following AEW Full Gear this past weekend. Jay Lethal made his AEW in-ring debut in a title match against TNT Champion Sammy Guevara. Bryan Danielson confronted Hangman Page and battled Evil Uno tonight. CM Punk interrupted MJF during tonight’s show as well.

Dynamite Results (11/17)

  1. Bryan Danielson def. Evil Uno
  2. Tomorhiro Ishii & Orange Cassidy def. The Butcher & The Blade
  3. Nyla Rose def. Hikaru Shida to advance in the TBS Championship Tournament
  4. Dante Martin & Lio Rush def. The Acclaimed
  5. Sammy Guevara def. Jay Lethal to retain the TNT Championship

Here are the takeaways from this week’s show:

Bryan Danielson Warned Hangman Page & Dark Order

The Elite had a brief backstage promo to begin the show. Kenny Omega congratulated Hangman Page on his victory and said there were some things he has to change. Omega told Young Bucks to hold down the fort while he is gone. Adam Cole said that he will but Omega made it clear that he wasn’t talking to him and was speaking to Matt and Nick Jackson. Young Bucks awkwardly noted that they will hold it down together to end the promo.

Dark Order welcomed everyone to National Cowboy Shit Day and celebrated new AEW Champion Hangman Page. Hangman thanked everyone and brought up his next opponent, Bryan Danielson.

Bryan Danielson interrupted and congratulated Hangman Page for beating Kenny Omega and winning the AEW Championship. Danielson told Page that he was super excited for the title match but is a little disappointed it is not Kenny Omega standing across the ring for him. Page noted that he beat Kenny Omega’s ass at Full Gear and managed to do it under thirty minutes, unlike Bryan. The crowd chanted “Cowboy shit!” and Bryan claimed he wasn’t here to start beef.

Danielson joked that Page wouldn’t be wrestling someone that dresses up as a Ghostbuster on Halloween because he is here to fight. Danielson boasted about wrestling the following night after winning at WrestleMania and mocked Hangman for being out here in cowboy shoes and a dumb leather jacket. Bryan brought up all the excuses about Hangman underperforming and doesn’t want to have the match tonight to give Page an excuse for not being ready. Hangman told Bryan that he will do it his way and have the match another night.

Page noted that he knows Virginia is for lovers but will fight tonight. Page got right in Danielson’s face and he shoved him away. Dark Order then broke up the action and Bryan grabbed the microphone again. Danielson told Page that he knows he doesn’t really want to fight right now and Hangman charged at him. Hangman tackled Bryan in the corner and Danielson rolled out of the ring to regroup. Danielson battled Evil Uno in a singles match when Dynamite returned from a break.

Bryan controlled the action early and kept a Half Crab in until Aubrey broke it up. Danielson was loving the boos from the crowd as he beat the hell out of Evil Uno. The crowd chanted “no!” as Bryan hit some chops and cheered as Evil Uno battled back. Evil Uno hit a Hurricanrana and followed it up with a Neckbreaker for a two count. Danielson connected with several strikes and then a Dropkick in the corner. Evil Uno sent Danielson to the mat and went for a Swanton but Bryan got his knees up. Danielson leveled Evil Uno with a Running Knee and shouted “he is going to get his f*cking head kicked in!” and stomped on Evil Uno’s face over and over. Danielson applied the Triangle Sleeper and Evil Uno quickly passed out. Bryan kept the move locked in and flexed while doing so.

After the match, Tony Schiavone interviewed Bryan Danielson. Bryan said that because of Hangman Page’s behavior, he kicked Evil Uno’s head in. Danielson vowed to kick every member of the Dark Order’s head in until he fights Hangman Page for the title. Danielson said that they are in Chicago next week, Colt Cabana’s hometown, and challenged him to a match next week.

Ishii & Cassidy Picked Up A Win

The Butcher and The Blade faced Tomorhiro Ishii & Orange Cassidy tonight on Dynamite. Ishii and Butcher were about to start off the match but Butcher tagged out immediately. Ishii beat Blade down and tagged in Orange Cassidy. Orange hit a Splash for a one count and put his hands in his pockets. Cassidy hit a Dropkick and put on his sunglasses.

Cassidy was unaware that The Butcher had tagged in and turned around into a giant Clothesline. The Bunny and Matt Hardy hit Cassidy with a cheap shot. Back from a break, Ishii tagged in and lifted Blade up for a Brainbuster but he escaped. Butcher and Blade took control and hit a Powerbomb/Neckbreaker on Cassidy but Ishii broke it up at two. The Bunny gave the Blade brass knuckles but Rocky Romero dragged him to the outside. Ishii then hit Blade with a Brainbuster for the pinfall victory.

Nyla Rose Advanced In The TBS Championship Tournament

Hikaru Shida faced Nyla Rose in the TBS Championship tournament. Shida connected with a Crossbody but Nyla shrugged it off and hit a Suplex. Hikaru sent Nyla out of the ring with a kick to the face and she regrouped with Vickie Guerrero outside the ring. Rose rolled back inside and hit Shida with an elbow as she got back in the ring. Nyla bounced Shida’s face off the turnbuckle a couple times and delivered an uppercut.

Nyla stomped on Shida’s knee and knocked her out of the ring. Shida set up a chair but Nyla connected with a Clothesline and sat her down on it. Rose went for a Senton but Shida got out of the way, Rose crashed through the chair and then Vickie tried to hit her with a kendo stick. Shida grabbed the kendo stick and chased Vickie around. Vickie fell over and Shida hit her with the kendo stick. Back in the ring, Nyla Rose connected with a Body Slam as Dynamite went to a break.

When Dynamite returned, Serena Deeb attacked Hikaru Shida ringside. The action returned to the ring and Nyla hit the Knee Drop but Shida kicked out at two. Nyla went for the Beast Bomb but Shida countered into a Triangle. Nyla took back control and applied the Stretch Muffler and Shida tapped out.

CM Punk Interrupted MJF

MJF made his way to the ring with Shawn Spears and Wardlow. The crowd chanted “you suck!” and MJF told Spears that he cannot deal with this. Spears joked that MJF could defeat anyone of their heroes with a simple Headlock takeover and handed the microphone back to MJF. Maxwell stated that he is easily the most complete pro wrestler on the planet as Spears enjoyed a snack. MJF added that he is the man that will start a bidding war in the year 2024. MJF said that he could take a big old shit on Hangman’s title reign if he wanted.

Maxwell stated that he deserves to be the next AEW Champion and Excalibur joked that MJF only wrestles three times a year. MJF claimed that nobody in the locker room was as good as him or on his level.

CM Punk interrupted and made his way to the ring as the crowd chanted “holy sh*t!”. MJF smirked and told the crowd to stop. They then chanted “shut the f*ck up!” at MJF. Max introduced himself and extended his hand to CM Punk. Punk looked at MJF’s hand and laughed before exiting the ring. MJF was very annoyed at being disrespected and stared at Punk as he made his way to the back.

Dante Martin & Lio Rush def. The Acclaimed

Dante Martin & Lio Rush faced The Acclaimed on this week’s episode of Dynamite. The Acclaimed rapped during their entrances and Lio & Dante flipped onto them at the bottom of the ramp. Lio and Dante controlled the match early and isolated Anthony Bowens in the ring. Max Caster dragged Dante out of the ring and threw him into the barricade. The Acclaimed delivered a Suplex to Dante on the floor and then Bowens rolled him back into the ring.

Caster tagged in and unloaded some punches to Dante’s face as Lio Rush pleaded for a tag. Max dragged Dante back to the corner and tagged in Bowens. Anthony kept Dante in the corner as Dynamite went to a commercial break. When Dynamite returned, Lio finally got the tag and delivered a kick to Bowens’ face. Lio knocked Caster off the apron and made his way to the top rope. Lio went for a Frog Splash but Bowens got out of the way. Bowens hit Rush with a Superkick but turned around into a Dropkick from Dante and all four wrestlers were down.

Bowens hit Rush with a Back Body Drop and tagged in Caster. Max punched Dante in the face and turned Lio inside out with a Clothesline. Bowens planted Lio to the mat and Caster followed it up with an Elbow Drop. Anthony went for the cover but Dante broke it up at two. Dante hit a Dropkick to Caster and battled with Bowens in the corner of the ring. Dante hit a springboard Moonsault and Rush followed it up with the Frog Splash for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Team Taz came to the entrance ramp. Taz told Lio Rush that it was great to see him back at work and offered his condolences to his family. Taz said he was a business man and that it is nothing personal that they have offered Dante Martin a contract to join Team Taz. FTW Champion Ricky Starks told Dante that if he chooses Team Taz that will be the start of a Hall of Fame career. Starks added that if Dante stays with Lio Rush that will be the start of a mediocre one.

Sammy Guevara Retained The TNT Championship

Sammy Guevara defended the TNT Championship against Jay Lethal in the main event of tonight’s Dynamite. Lethal controlled the match early and kept Sammy grounded in the ring. Guevara had his ribs taped after the Street Fight at Full Gear. Lethal sent Sammy out of the ring but Guevara quickly got back in and hit a knee strike. Lethal rolled out of the ring to regroup but Sammy flipped onto him. Back in the ring, Sammy made his way to the top turnbuckle and went for a Shooting Star Press but Jay got his knees up at the last moment as Dynamite went to a break.

When Dynamite returned, Jay went for a Suicide Dive but Sammy caught him and hit a Brainbuster on the floor. Sammy and Jay traded punches on the floor. Guevara hit a knee to the face and knocked Jay on top of a table. Guevara climbed to the top rope and looked into the camera to say he is crazy. Sammy leaped but Jay got out of the way and the TNT Champion crashed through the table.

Lethal went for an Elbow Drop but Sammy countered into a roll-up for a near fall. Lethal hit a Flatliner for a two count and applied a Figure Four in the middle of the ring. Sammy dragged himself towards the ropes but Jay brought him back to the middle of the ring. Sammy battled through the pain and eventually reached the ropes to break the hold and the match continued.

Guevara hit another knee to the face and lifted him up onto his shoulders. Lethal escaped and went for a Dragon Suplex but Sammy landed on his feet. Guevara absolutely leveled Jay with a running knee and hit the GTH for the pinfall victory. Sammy Guevara is still the TNT Champion. Tony Nose was shown in the crowd watching after the match. Inner Circle celebrated with Sammy and Guevara shook Jay Lethal’s hand to close the show.

Becky Lynch Watches AEW, Says She’s In Favor Of Competition

Becky Lynch isn’t shy in admitting she watches AEW.

Becky is one of WWE’s top stars. She is the current Raw Women’s Champion. Despite being a heel, she is constantly cheered and has reportedly been hailed as a bit of a backstage hero.

Becky Lynch Likes Competition Such As AEW

Much has been made over the “war” between WWE and AEW but Lynch is all for it. Appearing on The MMA Hour, Lynch said she has no problem watching AEW and views it as an alternative.

“I watch everything. Competition is great. It’s great for the creative because I think it drives everybody. I think Vince McMahon works incredibly well when he’s pushed by competition.

“I think for the stars it gives options. If you don’t like vanilla, you can go with chocolate. If you don’t like strawberries, you can go with butterscotch. There’s options for fans, for wrestlers, and yeah it’s great.”

“I consider them the alternative. Their product is different than our product. We offer a different product than they do.”

Becky Lynch will be busy this Sunday night (Nov. 21). She’ll be going one-on-one with Charlotte at Survivor Series.

There has been some legit bad blood brewing between Becky and Charlotte. Reports have said the two were involved in a shouting match backstage after a title exchange segment went awry.

Becky told Helwani that she “lost it” during her verbal exchange with Charlotte. She even blasted Charlotte’s father, Ric Flair.

Kenny Omega Explains How Kurt Angle Is An Inspiration To Him

Former AEW World Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega says Kurt Angle has served as an inspiration to him.

Kurt Angle is widely regarded as one of the best performers to ever enter the wrestling industry. Not only was Angle world-class in the ring, but he was also a top-notch entertainer.

Those two key ingredients propelled him to legendary status.

Kenny Omega Reveals How Kurt Angle Inspired Him

Kenny Omega was on the receiving end of a chiropractic adjustment from
Dr. Beau Hightower
. During the process, Omega said Angle is one of the top American wrestlers who inspired him.

“If I were to name one more guy that was really an inspiration to kind getting to where I’m at now in the ring, maybe it’s Kurt Angle.

“Again, I just appreciate the real athleticism that goes into what he does without sacrificing that entertaining aspect.

“He was willing to do whatever it took to make a crowd happy. To make people laugh, to make people cry but his capabilities were second to none.”

Angle was feeling the love from Omega and he took to his Twitter account to express gratitude.

Omega responded, heaping even more praise on the Olympic gold medalist.

There’s been some speculation on Omega’s immediate future following his title loss to Hangman Page at Full Gear.

Wrestling Observer Radio reported that Omega went into the match with shoulder issues. “The Best Bout Machine” was scheduled to undergo a medical evaluation on Wednesday.

Some reports have since surfaced saying that surgery might be an option.

Becky Lynch Buries Ric Flair, Says Charlotte ‘Purposely’ Disrespected Her

Becky Lynch is of the belief that Charlotte had every intention to disrespect her.

The title exchange segment that took place on the Oct. 22 episode of SmackDown didn’t exactly go according to plan.

It was reported by PWInsider that Charlotte and Becky were to engage in a tug of war with the Raw Women’s Championship but instead, Charlotte dropped the title. Becky then threw the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Charlotte.

Furthermore, it was reported that Becky and Charlotte engaged in a shouting match backstage. It’s been said that Charlotte was escorted out of the building as Becky had a dark match and WWE officials didn’t want things to escalate.

Disrespect

Becky appeared on The MMA Hour and told Ariel Helwani that she feels Charlotte’s actions were done solely to make her look bad.

“There was a plan in place that was supposed to go one way and if it went one way then everyone would’ve had a moment and it would’ve been great.

“I, in the back, said, ‘This isn’t gonna happen. She’s gonna do something else.’ She did exactly what I said that she was gonna do.

“Sometimes things can happen out there and people can get carried away in a moment and you don’t have time to process what happens, but I knew that she was gonna purposely disrespect me.

“I processed it a lot quicker and so, I was able to hold it together until I got backstage. I did what I was supposed to do and then when I got backstage I lost it a little bit.”

Becky Lynch & Ric Flair Have Words

Ric Flair recently took to his Twitter account to express his excitement over seeing his daughter, Charlotte, take out Becky at Survivor Series.

Becky had a scathing response, referring to accusations hurled at Ric over the Plane Ride From Hell.

“It’s really sad, because this is a legend at one point, Ric Flair is now jealous of me, it’s cool for me, he’s now using me to get clout to promote whatever he has going on because he’s dug himself into a hole with other things.”

https://twitter.com/Machobeard4life/status/1461070912309104647

Update: Ric Flair has since responded to Becky Lynch’s comments about him on the MMA Hour podcast. As seen below, Flair claims he’s still “The Man” and tells Lynch to “ask her husband” about that.

WWE Survivor Series will be taking place this Sunday night (Nov. 21). Becky and Charlotte will go toe-to-toe in a non-title champion vs. champion match.

Cody Rhodes: I Don’t Have A Lot Left In My Career

Cody Rhodes believes he’s on borrowed time as a full-time wrestler.

Cody has become a polarizing figure in AEW. The fans have seemingly turned on the AEW EVP in certain markets.

It truly started at the Arthur Ashe Stadium Dynamite show in New York City and has snowballed into other locations. Despite the boobirds, Cody insists he won’t turn heel and he’s given some more insight into why.

Clock Is Ticking On Career Of Cody Rhodes

During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Cody Rhodes said that he doesn’t see himself wrestling full-time for much longer and he doesn’t want to get wrapped up in the babyface vs. heel talk.

“You don’t wanna drop an absolute on anybody but I don’t have a lot left in my career. I don’t have another 10 years.

“It’s probably three more years full-time wrestling and I wanna get every accolade I can get my hands on. I wanna be the best ‘me’ I ever was as a pro wrestler and the way I’m gonna do it is as me.

“If we try really hard to rope me into babyface, rope me into heel, I think we’re gonna miss this wonderful moment. Like you said, Indianapolis was a total home game.

“That’s what Arn Anderson says, it’s either gonna be a home or an away game. I know walking into certain markets it’s gonna be an away game. Very likely, New York City, that’s an away game.

“Walking to Atlanta, Georgia, that’s a home game. Indianapolis was a home game, Miami was a home game. That’s the greatest energy and the greatest gift the fans could give me is to keep doing what they’re doing.”

Cody is fresh off a victory at the Full Gear PPV. He teamed with PAC to defeat Malakai Black and Andrade El Idolo. Many believe all wrestlers involved in that match will eventually collide in a four-way dance.

WWE Survivor Series Predictions

Welcome to our WWE Survivor Series predictions. The event takes place this Sunday from Brooklyn, NY at the Barclays Center. It streams live on Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network, internationally.

SEScoops correspondents Andrew Ravens, Ella Jay and Robert Lentini are here to break down each match and give their predictions for who will survive.

Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura vs. United States Champion Damian Priest

Andrew Ravens: A battle of champions that not a lot of people care about aside from Nakamura’s ring entrance thanks to Pat McAfee and Rick Boogs. Priest has been slowly but steadily pushed since his alliance with Bad Bunny earlier this year when he’s on TV. Nakamura can lose and it won’t hurt him.  (Prediction: Damian Priest)

Robert Lentini: The United States Championship should be a stepping stone for Damien Priest. The time for WWE to push Nakamura came and went when he won the Royal Rumble in 2018. Damian Priest is 39 and I’d like to think he picks up the win on Sunday and starts moving up the card in short order. (Prediction: Damian Priest)

Ella Jay: Priest will continue his solid run as United States Champion by defeating Nakamura here. Excited to see if Rick Boogs will play any deciding factor in this matchup. (Prediction: Damien Priest)

Consensus: Damien Priest (3-0)

Raw Tag Team Champions Randy Orton and Matt Riddle vs. SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos

Robert Lentini: Randy Orton and Riddle are the perfect “can they coexist?!” tag team. Riddle has been getting pinned routinely and it is only a matter of time before this team falls apart. The Usos isolate Riddle and win the match. After the bell, Orton will tease an RKO on Riddle but changes his mind. Orton won’t hesitate once RK-Bro drop the tag titles. (Prediction: The Usos)

Ella Jay: This match may mark the beginning of the dissension of RK-Bro, with Riddle possible turning on Orton, but The Usos will begin some momentum for Team Smackdown with this victory. (Prediction: The Usos)

Andrew Ravens: The Usos have been put in an interesting place on the card as Roman Reigns is their leader and the alliance keeps them in the main event scene, but they do drop defeats quite often. If Vince McMahon is going for, putting smiles on the faces of fans, then the babyfaces go over and I can absolutely see that happening here.
(Prediction: Randy Orton and Matt Riddle)

Consensus: The Usos (2-1)

Team SmackDown (Sasha Banks, Shayna Bazler, Shotzi Blackheart, Natalya, and TBA) vs. Team Raw (Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, Carmella, and Zelina Vega)

Ella Jay: Banks and Shotzi’s animosity may cause a huge elimination for their team, and allow team RAW to capture the victory. Liv Morgan will continue her momentum as one of the sole survivors, alongside Bianca Belair. Asuka perhaps will be the final addition to team Smackdown. (Prediction: Team Raw)

Andrew Ravens: An okay match on paper and for the sake of all fans, let’s hope they lean heavy on the good workers and it turns out to be a pretty decent match. I see SmackDown going over with Belair and Ripley standing as the last two for their team and sweeping the competition.  (Prediction: Team SmackDown)

Robert Lentini: There are multiple superstars on both brands that could attack their teammates at any moment during this match. I’m sure that will happen but ultimately Bianca Belair will lead Team RAW to victory in impressive fashion. (Prediction: Team Raw)

Consensus: Team Raw (2-1)

Team Raw (Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Theory, and Bobby Lashley) vs. Team SmackDown (Drew McIntyre, Jeff Hardy, Xavier Woods, TBA, and Baron Corbin)

Andrew Ravens: Obviously, the outcome of this match doesn’t matter but how they get to the finish is the interesting part. Last year, Team Raw swept the men’s team and on paper aside from Drew McIntyre, WWE’s second biggest male star, SmackDown doesn’t have a lot of credible talent. I see another clean sweep with McIntyre being the last to fall against the odds. (Prediction: Team Raw)

Ella Jay: Expecting a few shocking early eliminations here, perhaps King Woods unleashes fury onto Bobby Lashley and rolls him up early?? Smackdown may fall in numbers then, with Hardy and McIntyre being the final two for the blue brand. Overall, RAW will likely take this victory with Balor and Rollins (or possibly just Rollins himself) as the sole survivor(s). No idea who Smackdown’s last member could be. Kofi Kingston? (Prediction: Team Raw)

Robert Lentini: Team RAW has the much better team on paper. However, Seth Rollins is far more concerned with being #1 contender and a future shot at the WWE Championship. Kevin Owens also has issues with WWE Champion Big E and seems to think everyone against him. Team SmackDown will win as a result of Team RAW imploding towards the end of the match. Drew McIntyre will be the last man standing for Team SmackDown. (Prediction: Team SmackDown)

Consensus: Team Raw (2-1)

Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair

Ella Jay: My biggest question mark, as I don’t see either talent going over or losing cleanly here. Becky Lynch has been fairly protected since returning to in-ring competition, while Charlotte Flair has also dominated since recapturing singles gold. The bitter rivalry will be on full display between these two competitors, with the action ensuing outside the ring perhaps, resulting in a double count-out possibly. (Prediction: DRAW via Double Countout)

Robert Lentini: This match has created the most buzz with rumors of Lynch & Flair having a falling out in real life. My prediction is that the crowd will be incredibly loud for this one and Charlotte will get the win. Becky Lynch can explain the loss away in a promo on RAW the following night and continue her feud with Liv Morgan. (Prediction: Charlotte Flair)

Andrew Ravens: A match that we have seen before and without the backstage drama that played out last month with no footage, it all comes down to speculation about whether the match will be smooth or not. These are two pros at the top of their games so that’s not a real possibility. Flair should eat the loss here because she will be fine with it in storyline, but when it comes to Flair, we all know the company likes to protect her so I have Flair going over. (Prediction: Charlotte Flair)

Consensus: Charlotte Flair (2-0-1)

WWE Champion Big E vs. Universal Champion Roman Reigns

Andrew Ravens: A main event with not much buzz and clear outcome with Reigns going over. Big E didn’t have a long enough title reign or even built up to where he is now in the last two weeks to be a credible threat to beat “The Big Dog.” I can see some outside interference with The New Day and The Usos to further the program that has been playing out on SmackDown. Either way, Reigns wins. (Prediction: Roman Reigns)

Robert Lentini: Big E will hold his own against The Tribal Chief but ultimately will fall short. The Usos or Kevin Owens could interfere and help Reigns. Brock Lesnar could show up during or after the match and attack Roman. Either way, Roman Reigns is the biggest star in the professional wrestling business right now and there’s no reason to hand him a loss. (Prediction: Roman Reigns)

Ella Jay: Much love to Big E, but Roman Reigns has absolutely been unstoppable this year. Even though this is a non-title matchup, Reigns will look to dominate and earn a second win for Team Smackdown here. The Bloodline may end up securing the only wins for the blue brand. (Prediction: Roman Reigns)

Consensus: Roman Reigns (3-0)

FTR says “Creative Genius” Tony Khan doesn’t get enough credit

Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood believe that Tony Khan does not get the credit he deserves for being a creative genius. The spoke to DAZN recently and spoke about the AEW President.

“Tony does not get the credit he deserves right now for being, and it’s overused but a creative genius,” said Dax Harwood. “He loves professional wrestling. The best thing about this company is that he’s not afraid of that word.”

Harwood continued, “I think in a few years, people are going to look back and say, ‘Man, he really is smart’. He really knows what he’s doing, and he’s got a knack for telling stories and putting matches together and the why’s and how’s. He’s really great.”

Cash Wheeler also noted that some refer to Tony Khan as a “money mark” but he feels the AEW President is much more than that. He also compared Khan’s family riches to Vince McMahon purchasing the WWF from his father.

“Right now, he’s a man worth eight or $9 billion, and the people are just regurgitating what they hear online from some of their favorite podcasters that he’s a quote-unquote money mark,” Wheeler added.

“Furthest from the truth. But he’s got to have money. Vince was a money mark if you think about it. He had to buy a company from his dad, and he had the money. It’s asinine even to think that. He’s a huge wrestling fan who was blessed to have the money that he has, and he’s trying to put on the best wrestling product in the world, I think.”

Dax Harwood Injured

FTR dropped an AEW tag title match to the Lucha Bros at Full Gear. The match ended prematurely, however, after Harwood was injured. The finish of the match saw the challengers dawn their green masks and the illegal man pinned.

There is no update on if Harwood will be forced to miss any time. It was also reported that Fenix did not check up on Harwood after the match either. More information about that situation is available in the link below:

FTR and the Lucha Bros will run it back again on a card for AAA on December 4th. This time the AAA tag-team titles held by FTR will be on the line.

WWE Hall Of Famer Heaps Praise On Jay Lethal Following AEW Signing

One WWE legend is happy to see Jay Lethal quickly land on his feet.

Jay was perhaps the biggest name impacted by the recent Ring of Honor news. The promotion will be going dark until at least April and is releasing all of its talent. Jay had been loyal to the company for a decade.

Lethal was simply too good to sit on the sidelines, however. During the Full Gear PPV, it was announced that Jay is All Elite.

Booker T On What Makes Jay Lethal Special

During an episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T, who worked with Jay back in TNA, sang the praises of the new AEW signee.

“Jay Lethal, he’s a soldier, bro. I’ve gotten a chance to work with Jay Lethal in TNA and he’s always been a guy that, I must say, loves this business more than anybody I’ve ever seen.

“Jay Lethal loves this business. He loved working for that company [ROH] but when the doors closed, they sent him a letter saying his contract is void.

“It’s like any athlete man, you’ve got to look for work and you’ve got to do it quick because those notes that come in the mailbox they’re called bills.

“They keep coming whether you’re working for somebody or not. Jay Lethal is saying AEW opened the doors, and he stepped right in there and I’m glad for him and glad to see Jay Lethal take that next step past ROH.

“I’ve always thought Jay Lethal should be somewhere working primetime, there again the loyalty that he has given to this business, so give that man a break.”

Booker T also said that Lethal can hang with the best workers in the industry. He feels when Jay walks away from the business, people will look back at just how good he really was.

Lethal is scheduled to challenge Sammy Guevara for the TNT Championship on the Nov. 17 episode of Dynamite. The match could bring Lethal one step closer to meeting his dream opponent, Chris Jericho.

Booker T Plans To Create A “Sherri Martel Classic” In Reality of Wrestling

Booker T plans to bring a “Sherri Martel Classic” to his Reality of Wrestling promotion. During a recent appearance on the Battleground podcast, Booker spoke about what being managed by Sherri meant to his career and to Harlem Heat.

“Sherri was definitely well before her time as far as females in professional wrestling, being able to go out there and doing it the way she did. One that would throw caution to the wind. She was really great at psychology as well. She was a real worker. For myself, I always put her on a pedestal just because she was Harlem Heat’s ‘legitimizer.’ I don’t think we would have been what we were and who we were without Sister Sherri Being right there in the front.”

“So many times, we tore it up and left it in chaos, people just wanted to kill us. So many great times. She would definitely be proud of the groundwork she put down as far as what we’re seeing right now with the ladies going out there with the way they are. I’m definitely going to create a Sherri Martel Classic with Reality of Wrestling sometime very soon.”

Reality of Wrestling: One Night In Vegas

It’s a big time for Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion. They will have their first show outside of Texas on Friday night, November 19th. The show, One Night in Vegas, will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Episodes of Reality of Wrestling can be viewed on the promotion’s official YouTube channel.

Sherri Martel

Martel was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2006. She was inducted into the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum in Texas in 2014. In 1991, she was awarded the “Manager of the Year Award” by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Additionally, she was a 3x AWA Women’s World Champion and a 1x WWF Women’s Champion.

Jeff Hardy wants to revive Willow via Bob Ross & The Fiend

Jeff Hardy continues to talk about reviving his mysterious alter ego, Willow. His latest storyline pitch involves The Fiend and painter Bob Ross.

Hardy is certainly a creative guy. Outside the ring, he expresses himself through music and art. During a recent chat with Metro UK, he presented a storyline idea that’s “out there” even for him.

Specifically, Hardy pitched a storyline idea that would have him portraying a painter named Jeff Ross. His split personality would be Willow, similar to Bray Wyatt and The Fiend.

“I can’t help but think how cool it was when I first witnessed The Fiend, and the light shutting down,” Hardy said. “It was so cool to me – that’s kinda my thing too, I was like, ‘Man, this is so cool!’ Now he’s not here anymore, I think there’s something really cool Willow could do similar to that.”

Jeffrey Ross

Bob Ross

Jeff Hardy said that his own ‘FireFly Fun House’ type character could be a Bob Ross-style painter named Jeff Ross.

“It wouldn’t be exactly like that, but I’ve even had ideas like a Jeff Ross character – like I was a painter, a really silly painter Jeffery Ross, and then Willow would be my Fiend.

Hardy brought his Willow character to TNA Wrestling in 2014. He had previously used the character in the OMEGA promotion he ran with his brother Matt from 1997-2000.

Damian Priest Says He Has “Survivor’s Guilt” Following WWE Releases

WWE United States Champion Damian Priest says that the string of WWE roster cuts this year has left him with “survivor’s guilt.” He recently spoke to Metro about how the releases from the company have made him feel.

“That’s the unfortunate part of life. Especially in a business where you’re living your dream – so it hurts, because we care about these people. We know they’re hurting, so we hurt,” Priest said.

“It’s unfortunate. It’s like that survivors guilt – you feel guilty, but at the same time… it’s an odd feeling.”

“But then you come to the realisation – wait a minute, these are all incredible people! They’re gonna be fine! There’s that positive, and that’s always my sentiment. Well, now the world is yours. Go out and grab it!”

WWE has released 71 Superstars from its roster in 2021. More information about who has been let go this year is available in the link below:

http://stg.sescoops.com/news/staggering-tally-wwe-releases-2021/

Priest has a match upcoming this weekend at Survivor Series. As part of the brand vs. brand, champion vs. champion format of the show, he’ll be facing Smackdown’s Intercontinental Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura. Priest became the 99th wrestler in history to win the US title when he did so at SummerSlam over Sheamus this year. It was the 172nd title change in the belt’s lineage which dates back to 1975 when Harley Race was the inaugural champion.

WWE NXT 2.0 Results (11/16): Raquel Gonzalez vs. Dakota Kai, Tommaso Ciampa Talks

The November 16, 2021 episode of WWE NXT 2.0 aired live on the USA Network from Orlando, Florida at the Capitol Wrestling Center.

WWE NXT Results

  • Tony D’Angelo def. Dexter Lumis.
  • Odyssey Jones, Ikemen Jiro & KUSHIDA def. Diamond Mine
  • Xyon Quinn def. Andre Chase.
  • Von Wagner & Kyle O’Reilly def. Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen.
  • Persia Pirotta def. Gabby Stephens and Jenna Levy
  • Raquel Gonzalez def. Dakota Kai via DQ.

Here are the takeaways from this week’s show:

Let’s Chat

Tommaso Ciampa came out for a promo about how Grayson Waller has been talking about wanting his title. This led to Bron Breakker coming out.

Bron said it pisses off Ciampa to see new talent come to NXT. He said that he will run through Ciampa to get the title. He said the only thing Ciampa should worry about is him. Ciampa reminded him that he already beat him. Ciampa said that Bron has a small chance of beating him and taking the title. He said that Bron is just a puppy and he’s the NXT Champion.

So are we getting a rematch at WarGames? Time will reveal all.

Santos Escobar Returns

Xyon Quinn defeated Andre Chase in a pretty short match that was fine, but was there to serve a purpose, which was more important.

After the match, Legado del Fantasma’s Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza attacked Quinn before Santos Escobar, who has been kept off television, made his return to further beat down the babyface.

Elektra Lopez came out and told him that no one says no to her, which is a play off him turning down her offer to join the group.

Six-Man Tag Team Match

Diamond Mine (Roderick Strong and the Creed Brothers) vs. Jacket Time (Ikemen Jiro and Kushida) and Odyssey Jones in a six-man tag team match took place.

Last week, The Creed Brothers defeated Jacket Time thanks to interference from Strong. This led to Jones to come out to even the odds and get his revenge on Diamond Mine for attacking him two weeks ago.

This was the second match of the night. At one point, Strong hit an Angle Slam to Jones. The match was solid and ended when Jones pinned Strong for the win.

Tony D’Angelo vs. Dexter Lumis

Tony D’Angelo vs. Dexter Lumis was booked. The match was set up when last week, D’Angelo met with Indi Hartwell, who is Lumis’ wife in storyline, so he could give her a fish as a gift for Lumis.

The match opened the show. The match was short as Tony poked him in the eye and hit his finisher for the win. Post-match, Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes attacked Lumis from behind. Johnny Gargano ran down to make the save.

Another impressive win for Tony. After the break, Gargano cut a promo about how if you screw with his family then he will kick their teeth down their throat. Pete Dunne walked out and said Gargano can’t get a title match considering he just beat him. Gargano said Williams carries the bags of Hayes. Hayes said that he is the leader of the new room. Hayes challenged them to a triple threat match for the North American Title next week.

Raquel Gonzalez vs. Dakota Kai

Raquel Gonzalez vs. Dakota Kai finally took place after Kai made her TV return.

Kai turned on her former best friend in July, which set up a match where Gonzalez to retain the NXT Women’s Title at NXT TakeOver 36 in August. Kai was kept off television until Halloween Havoc last month when Kai came back to cost Gonzalez the title after Mandy Rose defeated Gonzalez to win the title after Kai hit Gonzalez in the back with a shovel.

Two weeks ago, Gonzalez called out Kai, who came out only to be attacked by Cora Jade. After the brawl, Gonzalez told Jade that she would have to wait to get a piece of Kai. Last week, Kai had defeated Jade. Post-match, Kai got a table out, but Kai then backed off instead of hitting the move.

This was a really fun back and forth match that had the fans in attendance fully behind. At one point, Kai grabbed a shovel, but Toxic Attraction came out to attack Raquel. Zoey Stark came out with a brace on her leg. Io Shirai came out with her, who attacked the heels with a crutch.

Io yelled WarGames to end the show so look out for that being made official.

Tommaso Ciampa Discusses Not Fitting WWE’s Vision For NXT 2.0

WWE President Nick Khan recently spoke about the guiding philosophy behind the rebrand of WWE NXT 2.0. Specifically, WWE’s plan to focus on younger and larger athletes.

Unfortunately, this does not bode well for the longterm futures of NXT veterans like Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Kyle O’Reilly and others.

Chiampa won the vacant NXT Championship on premiere episode of NXT 2.0. During a recent interview with RN Pro Wrestling, he said he’s well aware of NXT 2.0’s new direction – and what it means for guys like him.

Transitional Champion and all that crap

Tommaso Ciampa Bron Breaker

Ciampa told RN Pro Wrestling, “Everybody had a vision of what this 2.0 was and I don’t think I fit that vision. I did not fit that mold.”

“I’m a little older, I look the way I look, whatever you want to say and to be able to go out there on night one and win the NXT title and have my redemption story. And then to continue on with it, of course we’re humans, we read stuff, we see stuff, transitional champion and all that crap.”

Ciampa says he’s the best thing that the brand has to offer right now. He knows what the title represents and accepts the responsibility that comes with that.

He thinks it’s cool to be in this spot and be able to prove the doubters wrong and prove the people who support him right.

Jeff Hardy Reveals He Owns Song After Re-Signing with WWE

WWE superstar Jeff Hardy has shared that he owns his theme song “No More Words.”

Hardy appeared on BT Sport’s The Run-in to detail his deal with WWE. Hardy re-signed with the company last year. He revealed that the contract length is two years, and WWE gave Hardy ownership of his current theme song.

“…When I re-signed, I was like okay, I’ll sign for two more years as long as I can get my own theme back from 08 or 09, called No More Words,” said Hardy. He shared that he learned that WWE owned the song in negotiations.

He brought the song back at Monday Night Raw on July 19th, when he wrestled Karrion Kross. During the interview, Hardy shared bringing the theme back and the reaction. “…The first night in front of a live audience, I got it back,” said Hardy. He continued, “…It was so powerful, man, and I think they realize okay yeah that was a good decision.”

Jeff Hardy Contract Length

Hardy has one more year left on his contract. By the time his deal is over with WWE, he will be 45 years old. It is unclear if Hardy is interested in re-signing with the company when his contract is up. Matt Hardy has expressed interest in wanting to see his brother in All Elite Wrestling.

Some WWE fans have criticized the company use of Hardy. In September, WWE used Hardy in a segment with the 24/7 championship. Last year, he also suggested to BT Sports that he’d love to have a character change by being his alter ego Willow. It’s unclear if he has pitched the idea to WWE.

“Years ago, I would be Jeff Hardy, and then I’d be this guy Willow and Willow is my go-to wrestling persona. So, man, and that’s another dream of mine that I would like to do before I’m done, to bring Willow into the WWE Universe and see what happens,” Hardy said.

Hardy is a member of Team Smackdown for the elimination tag team match at Survivor Series on November 21st. While fans may be unhappy with WWE’s use of Hardy, re-signing with the company gave him his theme back. For now, it seems Hardy is happy with the decision.

AEW Title Match didn’t Finish as Planned at Full Gear

All Elite Wrestling Tag Team Champions The Lucha Bros successfully defended their championship against FTR at Full Gear. However, the match didn’t go as planned, according to Fightful Select.

AEW President Tony Khan shared after Full Gear that Dax Harwood received an injury. Fightful Select reports that Ray Fenix hurt Harwood ten minutes into the title match. The report also shares that AEW planned for Harwood to factor into the storyline that he was the legal man at the end of the match

“Fightful Select was told by AEW sources that Dax Harwood was either knocked out or nearly knocked out about ten minutes into the match by Rey Fenix and was sidelined for a good portion of the remainder of the match,” said the report.

Dax Harwood Injury at Full Gear

It is unclear what move caused the injury to Harwood. The report also shares that Fenix is known to work stiff and didn’t check up on Harwood after the match. Khan also didn’t share an update on Hardwood after the event.

“Rey Fenix has been known to work stiff in the past, and some talent on the roster took issue with him not checking up on Harwood after the match, said the report. It continues, “We’re told this wasn’t considered major heat, but the talent we spoke to said it was common courtesy to check-in.”

The injury to Harwood is unfortunate for FTR, as they have a history of dealing with injuries. On July 30th, Wheeler suffered an arm injury in a tag team match against Santana and Ortiz. The injury kept FTR from competing in AEW until they made their return on September 1st.

AEW didn’t advertise the team for this Wednesday episode of AEW Dynamite. AAA is promoting a AAA World Tag Team Championship match between the current champions FTR and the Lucha Bros. for December 4th. However, it is unclear if the team will have to take time off from wrestling.

Edge can still wrestle thanks to cryotherapy, ice baths & more

Edge undergoes a rigorous self-care routine in order to remain an active in-ring competitor at 48 years old.

The Rated R Superstar and his wife Beth Phoenix appeared on Tuesday’s edition of Busted Open Radio on Sirius XM. The Hall of Fame couple spoke with hosts Dave LaGreca and Bully Ray about a wide variety of topics.

Phoenix discussed NXT 2.0, her new music career, and the heated rivalry between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.

Edge talked about the second chapter of his in-ring career. The Rated R Superstar was forced into retirement in 2011 due to a neck injury. He made a surprise return in 2020. He’s learned some important lessons along the way.

“You know, what I think I’ve learned is that the self-care and recuperation just takes longer,” said Edge. “So before, when you can do it every night, that’s not the case anymore.”

“Now, you know, after a match and I’m like, ‘Okay, I feel great. Maybe I could do one more the next day,’ but that’s pretty rare. It’s usually a good two-to-three weeks until I’m like, ‘Okay, all right. I think everything’s knocked out of my system.’”

Edge’s Wellness Routine

Edge explained that he has to undergo an extensive routine of recovery exercises to remain an active competitor. Cryotherapy, ice baths and yoga are just a few things he does to keep his body feeling good.

“The cryotherapy I did, the sauna, I did cold plunges, I stretched, I did yoga, I did massage, all of those things that I never did before. Now they’re a necessity.”

Chris Dickinson Speaks On Injury Suffered At NJPW Battle In The Valley

Chris Dickinson has given an update following an injury.

Dickinson was in action this past Saturday night (Nov. 13) at NJPW Battle In The Valley. He teamed with Brody King to take on Stray Dog Army. The match didn’t end as planned.

Dickinson landed wrong on a frog splash and needed medical attention right away. He was then stretchered out of the venue.

Chris Dickinson Out About 5-6 Months

Chris Dickinson issued a lengthy statement on his Twitter account. In the post, he revealed that he has dislocated his leg out the rear of his hip socket. He’ll be out around five to six months.

“So I’m going to give everyone an update on my situation. First off I want to apologize to the fans of NJPW and the company for not being able to compete at the Riverside event and future scheduled STRONG events today.

“That being said I dislocated my leg out of the rear of my hip socket and in the process experienced an acetabulum posterior wall fracture. I will say the process of dealing with the pain of this type of dislocation is unlike anything I have ever experienced in my lifetime.

“It’s a clean break of one piece about the size of your thumb that needs to be reattached otherwise the femur can easily slip out of place. Hip injuries are generally way worse and I’m in good hands with highly experienced trauma surgeons that deal with way more extensive injuries brought on by car accidents, motorcycle accidents, etc.

“I may be getting surgery today depending on a few other way worse automobile-related accidents that came in but absolutely tomorrow if not.

“My timeline I’ve been given for recovery is within the range of six months. My surgeon just said because of my background and athletic nature if I do everything right I can probably do it in five months. I give my word I will do my absolute best to return to the ring as fast as humanly possible.

“Thank you NJPW. I am blessed to have the best company behind me as well as the best brothers that stuck by my side all night on Saturday. I am alone here 3000 miles from home but to get have that in such a situation is the definition of respect and love.

“I love you guys so much.”

A GoFundMe has been set up to cover Dickinson’s medical expenses. As of this writing, $9,611 of the $20,000 goal has been met.

Kenny Omega to undergo medical evaluation on Wednesday

Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega could be looking at some time away from the ring, depending on his results from his upcoming medical evaluation.

Omega will get checked out by AEW doctors on Wednesday, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer. The report states that Omega has been dealing with nagging injuries for several months. Despite his ailments, Omega has been competing at the highest levels of in-ring competition.

Josh Nason of the Wrestling Observer recapped Meltzer’s report and contributed the following quotes.

“Meltzer said Omega has been dealing with various injuries for several months but was determined to see the Hangman Page storyline come to completion, which it did this past Saturday at Full Gear as he lost the title to Page,” said Nason.

The results will determine if he would take time off from wrestling. “Omega was going to take some time off at some point but chose not to as he wanted to continue the storyline.”

https://twitter.com/theAdamPage/status/1459791781290196993

Kenny Omega Losing the AEW Championship

Adam Page won the AEW World Championship from Kenny Omega at Full Gear on November 14th. The loss also ended Omega’s 11-month AEW World Championship reign. Now without the title, he has the opportunity to take time off from wrestling to deal with his injuries.

Meltzer reported in June that Omega was suffering from injuries. However, he continued to work through his issues.

“Omega is hurting pretty badly between slicing up his hand and needing seven stitches when he delivered the fourth belt shot on Pac in the three-way, said Meltzer. He continued to detail Omega’s injuries, “… a deep bone bruise near his tailbone, the normal wear and tear on his knees and an athletic hernia.”

It’s unclear if Omega has suffered other injuries since June. He contemplated taking time off from wrestling before, but his medical evaluation may force him out of action.

Bully Ray Wants AEW To Sign Former ROH Tag Team Champions

Bully Ray thinks former ROH Tag Team Champions The Briscoe Brothers would be the perfect fit for AEW.

Many have praised AEW’s tag team division. Teams such as the current AEW Tag Team Champions, Lucha Bros, FTR, The Young Bucks, Proud N’ Powerful, and others have proven to deliver the goods.

There’s one tag team, however, that Bully Ray feels would do wonders for AEW.

Bully Ray is ‘All In’ on The Briscoes AEW

ROH Briscoes
(via ROH)

Bully Ray discussed potential tag teams that could make their way to AEW during an episode of Busted Open Radio. At the top of his list are The Briscoes.

“The Briscoes are an absolute perfect fit for the AEW tag division. The Briscoes and The Bucks already have history.

“Now, imagine if we get Briscoes and Bucks again. Imagine if we get Briscoes and FTR, Briscoes and Lucha Bros, yadda yadda. Anything like that.

“And then on the horizon, way, way, way off in the horizon, there’s the possibility of a Hardy reunion in AEW. Could you imagine? A very small portion of wrestling fans got to see Hardyz-Bucks in Ring of Honor.

“Now, the world could see Hardyz-Bucks. Hardyz, Bucks, FTR, Lucha Brothers, Briscoes. Damn, that is one hell of a tag division.”

Briscoe Brothers’ Problematic Past

The timing certainly can’t be ignored. Ring of Honor announced that all talent will be released from their deals as the company will go dark until at least April.

Many have wondered if AEW will consider bringing in The Briscoes due to some controversial comments made by Jay Briscoe back in 2013. Jay said he’d shoot anyone who teaches his kids that same-sex marriage is okay.

Jay did end up apologizing for his remarks. These days, the wrestling industry is far less forgiving of these types of comments but The Briscoes have done well for themselves over the past few years.

Update on WWE vs. AEW ticket sales at UBS Arena on Long Island

We are just days away from the opening of the new UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for this Friday, November 19th.

The New York metropolitan area’s newest sports and entertainment venue is a $1.1 billion facility located on the historic grounds of Belmont Park. The venue holds up to 19,000 people for concerts and over 17,000 for NHL hockey games.

Both WWE and AEW will be running shows at the UBS Arena in its first month of operations. WWE Raw will be held there on Monday, November 29th and AEW Dynamite follows on Wednesday, December 8th.

WWE vs. AEW at UBS Arena

UBS Arena

New York City has long been a stronghold territory for WWE. AEW recently shifted the balance of power in the area with the remarkable success of Grand Slam from Arthur Ashe Stadium. That special edition of Dynamite sold more tickets than any New York wrestling event in decades.

As soon as it became apparent WWE and AEW would be running the same venue within the span of 10 days, fans were interested in seeing how ticket sales compared. It did not take long to realize this was not going to be a close competition.

With just weeks to go, AEW Dynamite has nearly doubled the ticket sales of WWE Raw. Here are the latest ticket sales numbers, courtesy of WrestleTix:

  • WWE Raw on 11/29 has sold 4,764 tickets out of 7,462 that were put on sale (64%).
  • AEW Dynamite on 12/8 has sold 8,368 tickets out of 10,449 that were put on sale (80%).

WWE configuring the building for less than 7,500 fans, while AEW is set up to accommodate nearly 10,500 fans, indicates that WWE saw problems from the outset.

Both companies have run various promotions in an effort to boost ticket sales. No matter how you slice it, it’s hard to view this as anything but a win for AEW.

The record-setting success at Grand Slam at Arthur Ashe stadium in September and out-selling WWE Raw at the UBS Arena builds a strong case that AEW is now the top wrestling promotion in this major market.

Below are updated looks at the seating cart for both events. Blue indicates ‘primary market’ tickets still available, while pink indicates re-sale tickets.
