Overall Thoughts on GCW: Dead on Arrival

This event had everything GCW fans would love with different types of wrestling matches, most notably the Deathmatch. It can be argued that the show may have overdone itself by having four Deathmatches straight till the end. One of the moments that stood out on the show was Slade vs. Hoodfoot.

The match ended abruptly after Slade sliced Hoodfoot with a broken light tube on the arm, which caused a severe injury. Hoodfoot was rushed out of the ring to receive help. GCW’s Brett Lauderdale shared on Twitter that he went to the hospital to get stitches.

Overall the event did have entertaining matches. Ninja Mack vs. Calvin Tankman and Jordan Oliver vs. Alex Shelley vs. Nick Wayne could be the matches that stand out to fans.

The next event part of the Summer Road Trip tour will take place on Jul. 1.

Former ROH Star Pulled From Segment on AEW TV

The May 4 episode of AEW Dynamite almost had a former ROH star appear as a security guard.

In an interview with Ringsiders Wrestling, Tony Deppen shared that he was supposed to be a member of the security team that Wardlow had attacked. The AEW star faced former Impact Wrestling talent W. Morrissey at the May 4 episode of AEW Dynamite in Baltimore, Maryland.

After the match, Deppen was supposed to be one of the security guards that Wardlow beat down. He had already had a taped match with John Silver for AEW Dark that day.

However, according to the former ROH star, AEW pulled him because they didn’t want to hurt his value as a wrestler.

“…When I did AEW in Baltimore, I was supposed to do the run-in with Wardlow as well, and you know that Baltimore’s prime Ring of Honor territory. Everyone knows me there, and I did my match, got in the back, and the extra coordinator pulled me to the side.

“He’s like, ‘You’re not going out there for that,'” said Deppen. He continued, “I was like, ‘oh, why?’ He just like, ‘we don’t want to hurt you like everyone knows who you are out there.’ They didn’t want me to get hurt as like my value, I guess, which I understand that but also in the same sense I’m like, ‘yo I would’ve got an extra payday.'”

What is Former ROH Star Tony Deppen Doing Now?

Since he departed from ROH, Deppen has competed for different independent wrestling promotions. He has also become one of the frequent talents competing in Game Changer Wrestling.

He faced Jon Moxley for the GCW World Championship at GCW: You Wouldn’t Understand on June 18. While Deppen pushed the champion to his limit, Moxley defeated him to retain the title.

Deppen also recently competed in a scramble match at GCW: Dead or Alive on June 30, which he won by pinning Dark Sheik.

If AEW President Tony Khan wants to revive the ROH brand, he could consider signing Deppen. Although, it seems like Deppen is keeping himself active and having success.

Chelsea Green Pitched To Be A Disciple Of Seth Rollins In WWE

During a recent discussion with SEScoops correspondent Steve Fall for NBC Sports Boston, Chelsea Green spoke about the creative pitches she made during her time in WWE and the process surrounding it.

Chelsea Green and her husband Matt Cardona have been everywhere on the independent scene after their releases from WWE. On April 15, 2021, Chelsea Green was released from her WWE contract.

Matt was released exactly one year before Chelsea on April 15, 2020.

After her release, Green made it known that she made multiple pitches to Vince McMahon to try and get herself on TV.

Unfortunately, during her main roster debut match on the November 13, 2020 episode of SmackDown, Chelsea suffered yet another arm injury.

Green’s WWE Creative Pitch

Green spoke about the pitches she made and her process for pitching them to Vince.

“No, actually one that was really ridiculous and I get made fun of all the time on the internet still for it, was like this kind of like nun character where- What was Seth Rollins? He had a character and he would come out and be like The Messiah. And, I wanted to come out with him, I always thought that I could be a good valet, but then also be able to be in the women’s division. But I really loved the idea of being like a 90’s style valet.

“So, I wanted to come out with him as kind of like his follower, his disciple, and just basically be like a yes man to everything that he wanted when he wanted to kind of stir things up in each division.”

Chelsea Green on her WWE pitch

“When I first pitched the character to Vince and I said a nun, I think everyone just has this immediate thought of what that is and how that’s not going to work, and finally he kind of like laughed and was like, ‘I need you to explain this for me.’

And I explained like the look that I had in mind, the attitude that I had in mind, the fact that it was more of building this following of everyone following Seth Rollins to the ring. Finally, he’s like, ‘Oh, okay,’ and you can see the wheels turning.

WWE Creative Is Ever-Changing

“A lot of the scenarios that I pitched were like that, like, ‘Okay, how can we make this work? Can we make this work? What’s gonna be-‘ I mean Raw and SmackDown, when I say they’re ever-changing, I seriously mean up until ten minutes before showtime. So, something could work, and then ten minutes before showtime, it doesn’t,” Green said.

“All these ideas are so out of left field and so opposite that they can’t tell you whether it’s a bad idea or a good idea or yes or no because they might need to use it last minute, or they might need to give it to somebody else and have someone else use it because they fit the mold. They’ll never tell you no, but I mean if you have any sort of brain, you can tell what’s hitting and what’s missing,” she said.

Possible Name Change

Recently, WWE has seen many superstars face name changes. It seems that Chelsea was scheduled to get a name change as well. She was asked about working with WWE creative and how they responded to her pitching so many ideas.

Green responded, “I think there’s a fine line where if you don’t do what they want then yes [creative would ignore ideas]. But, I never did that. They gave me, they called me, they said, ‘You’re going to be in this qualifying match for Survivor Series and your name is going to be Victorious.’

“I’m like, ‘Great.’ A lot of people laughed at that name, but I’m like, ‘F*cking awesome dude.’ This is a name I can work with. This is a name people won’t forget.

“It might be so ridiculous and sound like a stripper, but on the other hand you’re not going to ever forget this name. Once I’m Victorious, you’re not going to forget Victorious was Victorious kind of thing.

“I think if I had been like, ‘Well, I have different names for you.’ Do you know what I mean? Like, that is something I would never do.

Green’s Willingness To Work

“I only suggested things because I was sitting waiting. So, I wanted them to know, ‘Hey, I’m not just sitting here collecting a paycheck.

“I’m sitting here collecting a paycheck because I am every single day thinking about what I can do to get on TV, how I can change my look. Goddamnit, I will dye my hair.’ I will never forget, I said to Cannon before he hired me at NXT, ‘What do you need?

“Do you need me to dye my hair blue? Do you need me to shave my head? I’ll do it. I will do it. Just tell me what you need. Tell me what’s missing, and I will be that missing piece.’ That’s what I was trying to give to the writers.

“So, if they told me, ‘You’re going to be CM Punk’s next person who’s shaving their head and stuff,’ I would’ve done it. “

Green In Impact

Chelsea can still be seen on Impact Wrestling as she recently competed, in a losing effort, for the Knockouts World Championship in a first-ever Queen of the Mountain match at the Slammiversary pay-per-view.

Chelsea was able to have a memorable moment with Deonna Purrazzo when they both fell off of a tall ladder to the outside of the ring and through two tables.

William Regal Praises WWE Star: “He’s the Perfect Heavyweight Lion”

Gunther, formerly known as WALTER, had a dominant reign in WWE NXT UK for several years as the NXT UK Champion before moving to the United States, where he worked in NXT and was later called up to the main roster.

When Gunther went to NXT permanently, William Regal was already off television as the GM. The current AEW manager praised Gunther during the latest episode of his podcast, Gentleman Villain. He thinks Gunther perfectly understands his role in WWE.

“He knows what he is, and he sticks to what he does best. He doesn’t expose anything that he doesn’t know. He knows exactly what to do that’s got him to where he got to. He had a long time to figure it out. I remember him having a tryout and he hadn’t figured himself out at the time. once he figured it out — WALTER, now Gunther, he is the perfect heavyweight lion. A person that was a huge influence on my wrestling style, and in helping me, was my favorite wrestler to wrestle.”

Regal recalled how Terry Rudge taught him early in his career that all wrestlers should wrestle like a big cat – lightweights should be like a cheetah, middleweights like a puma, and light heavyweights should be like a tiger or a panther. Heavyweights should wrestle like either a lion, a tiger, or a cross between the two.

Regal stated that Gunther has perfected this mindset, which he believes makes him the perfect lion.

“If you think of the way a wrestler moves, the way he attacks, and the way — if you’re a good wrestler, it makes perfect sense. Well Gunther, as you say, has perfected being a perfect lion. He knows exactly how to be a lion… If you just think about the way a lion is, It’ll just stalk, prowl up and down, will swat if it has to, and when it has to sprint, it spreads and it kills, and if you look at him like that, you know, he’s figured out his perfect role. How to be a perfect lion. That’s what a really good heavyweight should be.”

Gunther is currently the WWE Intercontinental Champion. He made his most recent televised title defense last week on SmackDown against Ricochet.

Regal is a seasoned talent scout and knows a tough competitor when he sees one. He currently leads AEW’s Blackpool Combat Club faction, comprised of Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castignoli and Wheeler Yuta.

AEW Faction Possibly Splitting Up

It may soon be curtains for one AEW faction.

AEW certainly isn’t the only promotion that leans on stables. The likes of NJPW and Stardom are quite group-heavy as well. Even WWE has its share of factions such as The New Day and The Judgment Day.

One AEW faction, however, could very well be in the midst of a breakup.

Gunn Club Splitting From The Acclaimed?

There could be some trouble brewing between the Gunn Club and The Acclaimed.

During the special Blood & Guts edition of AEW Dynamite, Danhausen and FTR took on Max Caster & The Gunn Club. Anthony Bowens accidentally hit Austin Gunn with one of his crutches, costing Gunn Club the match.

Afterward, Austin & Colten Gunn were not happy with Bowens. Things got heated, which led to Billy Gunn shoving Austin down and appearing to side with The Acclaimed.

For weeks, The Gunn Club has hinted at not being aligned with The Acclaimed, who have been pandering to the crowd in babyface-like fashion.

In particular, Austin and Colten are not amused when being referred to as the “Ass Boys.” Bowens had been leading the crowd to sing “Ass Boys” while The Acclaimed’s theme would play.

He did not do so on Wednesday night.

Rumor Killer On AEW Talent Debut

A big upcoming talent debut for AEW/ROH was not, in fact, spoiled by AEW music producer Mikey Rukus.

Rukus held a live stream on YouTube where he was just showing off the process of making entrance theme songs for AEW. He also broke down the drum tracks for the theme song for the Butcher and the Blade.

An oversight was spotted by fans when a list of files for recent AEW theme songs he had created was shown on screen. There were tracks listed for stars such as Claudio Castagnoli and Luchasaurus’ new theme song

An interesting name was also listed – current Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace, which you can see in the image below:

Fightful Select has an update – Jordynne Grace actually commented on the music file weeks ago. She clarified at the time that Mikey Rukus has produced songs for her for quite a while, even dating back before AEW existed. She is under contract with Impact through at least Spring 2023.

Rukus also responded to the potential leak, claiming it has nothing to do with AEW.

Grace signed with Impact Wrestling in August 2018. She’s held the Impact Digital Media Championship, Knockouts World Championship, and Knockouts Tag Team Championship.

Kurt Angle Reveals His Favorite Match Against John Cena

WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle has revealed his favorite match in which he competed against John Cena.

Angle knows Cena as well as anyone inside the squared circle, being Cena’s first opponent for his main roster debut in 2002. The pair then embarked on a lengthy rivalry that helped elevate Cena into Superstar status.

Speaking in an interview with TV Insider recently, Angle was asked about his favorite match that he had with Cena during their feud. Angle named his 2003 No Mercy match against Cena in which he made “The Leader Of The Cenation” tap out.

“I would say probably where I made him tap,” Angle said. “I believe it may have been No Mercy 2003. We had a really good match. John stayed with me and worked really hard, he hit all his moves. The match was magic and one of my favorite matches. All my favorite matches, though, are when I make someone tap out.

“John and I also had a great match in No Way Out 2005 where he beat me. It was right before the WrestleMania before he won the WWE championship for the first time. That match might have been a little better. That was when they were really pushing John to be the champion.”

The latter match Kurt Angle mentioned was their 2005 bout at No Way Out in which Cena defeated “The Olympic Hero” for the first time by either pinfall or submission. Prior, he had only ever beaten Angle via disqualification in 2002.

It was a massive stepping stone in Cena’s journey to become “the guy” as it made him the No. 1-contender for the WWE Title, where he’d go on to defeat JBL at WrestleMania 21 to capture the World Title.

John Cena recently celebrated his 20th year in WWE since his debut on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW.

Logan Paul Signs Multi-Year WWE Contract

Internet sensation Logan Paul has signed a deal with WWE.

Paul has been getting quite comfortable with the company and for good reason. He performed at WrestleMania 38, teaming with The Miz to take on Rey & Dominik Mysterio.

Logan was highly praised for his showing and many believed he looked like a natural inside the ring. While Paul had been announced for a SummerSlam return, he has now put pen to paper.

Logan Paul Signs on Dotted Line

Logan Paul took to his Twitter account to show he’s signed a WWE contract in front of Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.

A video was then released of Paul writing a message to The Miz on the back of his contract.

Some were wondering if this is just a deal for the SummerSlam premium live event or if it’s a more long-term situation.

Ariel Helwani is reporting that this is a multi-year deal for multiple matches per year.

“Deal includes an undisclosed number of premium live events across 2022 and 2023. He’ll likely, I’m told, have his first big appearance at SS but could be on TV before that. He signed his deal yesterday.”

Ariel Helwani on Logan Paul’s WWE deal

Paul and Miz picked up the win over The Mysterios at WrestleMania. After the match, Miz turned on Paul by hitting the Skull Crushing Finale.

During a recent episode of Monday Night Raw, Miz revealed he told Paul that this was just a learning lesson and the two are back on the same page.

The Undertaker Sees Megastar Potential in Bianca Belair

The Undertaker believes current RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair has only just “scratched the surface” of her star potential in WWE.

“The Dead Man” was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated, where he offered his thoughts on the current landscape of the WWE’s women’s division. Taker spoke on two stars in particular that stand out to him.

The first being “The Man” Becky Lynch, who Undertaker says is “so dialed in right now.”

“Becky is so dialed in right now,” ‘Taker said. “You’re on TV as much as they are, you can get used up really fast—but Becky is constantly evolving. She’s doing that on the mic and in the ring.”

Second, Undertaker praised current RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, who he believes has only “scratched the surface” of her star potential within the company.

“The women’s division is really, really good,” Undertaker said. “Bianca has only scratched the surface of the star she’s going to be. She’s got such an incredible personality. She’s someone I really want to see succeed.”

Both Lynch and Belair have big weekends ahead of them. They’ll both be in action at WWE’s Money In The Bank event Saturday from Las Vegas.

Lynch will compete in the Money In The Bank Ladder match against several other women, while Belair puts her RAW Women’s Title on the line against Carmella.

WWE Legend Returns After Undergoing Back Surgery

A WWE Hall of Famer is back to work for the first time since undergoing spinal surgery.

The wrestling business can be grueling. Even years after a performer has had one final match, there are likely to be lingering effects. In the case of one tag team legend, it led to him undergoing back surgery.

Luckily, everything seems to be in order now and this legend is back working behind the scenes in WWE for the first time since the operation.

D-Von Dudley Returns

Legendary tag team wrestler D-Von Dudley has revealed on his Twitter account that he is now back to work in WWE for the first time since the fall of 2021.

“This past Tuesday night was the first time back at work since my back surgery that took me out last October,” said D-Von.

“Feeling great and Glad to be back, but even more glad to be back in my new role in NXT. Love working with the new talent now. I thank God for this opportunity.”

D-Von Dudley on returning after spinal surgery

Back in May, D-Von announced the end of his Table Talk podcast and he also had another announcement. He revealed he’d be transitioning from a producer role in WWE to a coach for NXT talent.

This job is crucial as NXT is now being used as a developmental system to prep the stars of tomorrow for the main roster.

D-Von has seen and done it all, so one figures WWE puts great trust in him to help get the talent ready for the callup.

WWE Considering Calling up Two NXT Names for Main Roster

Two NXT prospects are said to be on the radar of WWE management for potential callups to the main roster.

WWE has made many changes to NXT over the years. The brand has gone from the black and gold look to a more colorful vibe. With its current iteration also came a change in direction.

NXT is now a true developmental system, preparing stars for the main roster. It’s no longer considered its own top brand filled with high-level indie talent and international stars.

It appears WWE feels two NXT talents have been doing well enough to potentially earn main roster spots.

Sanaga & Xyon Quinn to the Main Roster?

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio is reporting that WWE management is mulling over the possibility of adding Sanga and Xyon Quinn to the main roster.

Furthermore, Meltzer claims WWE sees Quinn as “the total package.”

Sanga and Quinn shared the ring on the June 28 episode of NXT 2.0. Sanga emerged victorious.

It’s unknown which brands are being discussed should Sanga and Xyon Quinn make the jump to the main roster.

At the moment, SmackDown is depleted of babyfaces so perhaps Sanga could be a good fit there but nothing has been confirmed.

Reason Why Jim Ross Changed Roles on AEW TV This Week

Fans who watched Forbidden Door and AEW Dynamite may have noticed something different about Jim Ross’ appearances.

The legendary play-by-play ace has been in the AEW booth since the company was founded back in 2019. He took some time off to battle and defeat skin cancer but he was back in the saddle quickly.

What had some fans puzzled, however, was the fact that JR didn’t do commentary for Forbidden Door until later on in the show, and he only appeared on Dynamite for the main event.

Ross remained on commentary for the Rampage tapings as well, which is something he isn’t used to doing.

Latest on Jim Ross’ AEW Role

In an update, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that AEW is simply experimenting with the commentary team. For now, it appears Jim Ross will be doing the second hour of Dynamite, followed by the entire hour of Rampage.

There’s no word on exactly what AEW is looking for with this experiment. It’s been apparent that Rampage has struggled in viewership due to the 10 p.m. ET Friday night time slot.

Many of the Rampage shows haven’t been stacked either and have felt like glorified B-level shows. The July 1 episode will be an exception, however, as that show actually has some significance.

A Royal Rampage match will take place to determine the number one contender for Jon Moxley’s interim AEW World Championship. There will also be a non-title match between AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks and NJPW’s Hiroki Goto & Yosh-Hashi.

Toni Storm will also be in action as she’ll share the ring with Nyla Rose.

New Member of AEW Faction Teased

Could an AEW faction be on the verge of getting a new member?

When it comes to several wrestling promotions, factions are tried and true. AEW is no exception as there are plenty of stables within the company. Members of factions come and go and one group could be adding a new member.

With that said, this potential member likely won’t have an easy time getting into the faction.

Fresh Name For The Baddies?

During the Blood & Guts edition of AEW Dynamite, Jade Cargill successfully defended her TBS Championship against Leila Grey. After the match, Jade and her manager Stokely Hathaway, cut a promo before being interrupted by Kris Statlander and Athena.

Hathaway convinced Grey to stop Athena from hitting her finishing move on Jade. Grey shoved Athena off the top rope and attacked her before Cargill shoved her away.

Grey went to shake Stokely’s hand but Jade once again shoved her away.

Stokley has been seeking a new addition for The Baddies. The faction is down one less member after Red Velvet suffered an injury.

Fans will now wait to see whether Leila Grey got played or if she’ll have to work harder to gain the trust of The Baddies.

Several AEW Stars Stricken With COVID-19

The decision-makers over at AEW are certainly earning their money.

The company’s movers and shakers have to be thinking to themselves, “if it’s not one thing, it’s another.” AEW has been hindered by a slew of injuries, forcing the promotion to have a change of plans.

The likes of AEW World Champion CM Punk, Adam Cole, Jungle Boy, Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish, and others have recently been out of action due to injury. While injuries are bound to happen in the wrestling industry, several key injuries are happening all at once in AEW.

To top it all off, the company had to deal with several of its stars being unavailable for the Blood & Guts episode of Dynamite due to COVID-19.

COVID-19 Strikes AEW

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that several AEW talents weren’t available for the June 29 episode of Dynamite due to COVID-19.

This explains why the company didn’t advertise much outside of the actual Blood & Guts match until mere hours before the show.

At this time, there is no word on who exactly caught COVID-19 and who had been planned to perform on the show but couldn’t.

Fortunately for AEW, none of the main eventers were impacted by the COVID-19 wave. There was still some bad news even in that match, however, as Santana appeared to suffer a leg injury and had to be helped to the back.

Joey Ryan Has Been Fired From His Job at Disneyland

Joey Ryan has been out of work in the wrestling business and now he longer has his gig at Disneyland.

Images had been surfacing of Ryan working for the Jungle Cruise attraction. Fans were quick to jump on the pics and react negatively as Ryan had been accused of sexual misconduct during the Speaking Out movement back in 2020.

Several accusations cost Ryan his job with Impact Wrestling and pretty much blackballed him from the wrestling industry.

The LA Times reports that Joey Ryan had been working at Disneyland for three months on a probationary period. A Disneyland spokesperson confirmed to the news outlet that Ryan is no longer working for them.

The spokesperson did not comment on whether or not the accusations played a role in Ryan being fired.

It was also said that during Disneyland’s screening process for Ryan’s hire, the harassment accusations were not brought up.

It has been quite the fall from grace for Joey Ryan. He went from being one of the most beloved indie wrestlers to becoming public enemy number one due to the horror stories from those who accused him of sexual misconduct.

What Happened With Tony Khan After Blood & Guts Episode of AEW Dynamite Went Off The Air

The special Blood & Guts edition of AEW Dynamite has reached its conclusion.

In the main event, the Jericho Appreciation Society took on Blackpool Combat Club in the Blood & Guts match. The action was held inside Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, MI.

Unfortunately, there was an injury during the main event. Santana appears to have hurt his leg after landing on it awkwardly while delivering a Uranage on Daniel Garcia. He was eventually helped up the ramp.

The show got started with a singles match between Orange Cassidy and Ethan Page. TBS Champion Jade Cargill also put her gold on the line.

We also got a shocking turn of events as Luchasaurus has turned heel and aligned with Christian Cage.

After The Show

When Dynamite went off the air, AEW President Tony Khan made his way out to greet fans in attendance. He then explained the rules of the Royal Rampage match, which is set to air this Friday (July 1) on AEW Rampage.

The match will determine the number one contender for Jon Moxley’s interim AEW World Championship.

Here is Khan breaking it all down:

Of course, the AEW ring crew was moving quickly during Khan’s speech to get ready for the Rampage taping. There was a lot of work to do as the Blood & Guts match had its share of in-ring destruction.

AEW Star Injured During Blood & Guts Match on Dynamite

The injuries continue to mount in AEW.

The company held its special Blood & Guts edition of Dynamite inside Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, MI. The match featured the Jericho Appreciation Society vs. Blackpool Combat Club, Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz.

BCC, Kingston, Santana & Ortiz won the match but at least one man did not walk away unscathed.

Santana Hurt

When it was time for Santana to enter the match, he brought in a table and a bat wrapped in barbed wire. He didn’t get much offense in, however, as he quickly suffered an injury.

It appeared to have occurred when he awkwardly landed on his leg while giving Daniel Garcia a Uranage.

Santana tried to make it back to his feet and was able to land one last strike but he simply couldn’t put weight on the injured leg.

Eventually, he was helped to the back and did not appear during the post-match celebration.

We’ll keep you posted with updates on Santana’s injury when they become available.

Orange Cassidy def. Ethan Page

Orange Cassidy made his way to the ring accompanied by Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta (Best Friends). Cassidy got a great reaction from the crowd. Dan Lambert brought a bottle of orange juice to the ring and cut a promo mocking Cassidy during Ethan Page’s entrance.

Page slammed Cassidy to the mat and posed for the crowd. Orange hopped up with his hands in his pockets and connected with a Dropkick. Cassidy then flexed for the crowd and went for a Body Slam but couldn’t lift Page. Orange transitioned into an Arm Drag that sent Ethan out of the ring.

Cassidy connected with a dive through the ropes and then a Crossbody in the ring for a two count. Page reigned down several elbow strikes to Cassidy’s head and went for a Powerslam but Orange escaped. Ethan connected with a shoulder tackle and Cassidy crumbled to the canvas.

Ethan shoved Orange’s hands in his pockets and unloaded a punch to the midsection. Page followed it up with an impressive vertical Suplex and once again flexed for the crowd. Ethan threw Cassidy out of the ring and Lambert mocked him as Dynamite went to a commercial break.

When Dynamite returned, Ethan connected with a Powerslam for a two count. Page went for the Ego’s Edge but Orange escaped. Page went for the Ego’s Edge again but Cassidy countered into a Hurricanrana. Cassidy climbed to the top rope but Page caught him with a right hand to the face. Page delivered another Powerslam for a two count.

Cassidy battled back with the Stundog Millionaire and fired up the crowd. Orange followed it up with the Tornado DDT and went for the cover but Page kicked out at two. Dan Lambert hopped on the ring apron with the bottle of OJ. Cassidy hit some lazy punches before taking a sip of the orange juice. Cassidy then spit the juice in Lambert’s eyes and hit Ethan with an Orange Punch, followed by a massive Body Slam for the pinfall victory. Cassidy and Best Friends shared a hug in the ring after the match.

Christian Cage Wishes Jungle Boy’s Entire Family Was Dead, Luchasaurus Is A Heel

Tony Schiavone interviewed Christian Cage on the entrance ramp tonight. Cage was sporting a black turtleneck and a jacket this evening. Christian got booed out of the building before he even said anything due to his remarks last week.

Cage stated that AEW management asked him to apologize for mentioning Jungle Boy’s deceased father, Luke Perry. Christian shouted that he’s sorry Jungle Boy’s entire family isn’t dead, except for his mom and motioned for her to call him.

Christian blasted Detroit before saying that he requested a match this week but he never said it was for him. Cage then introduced the heel version of Luchasaurus and he marched to the ring with Christian as his manager. Luchasaurus then demolished Serpentico in a squash match. Cage posted with Luchasaurus after he tapped out Serpentico. Christian asked Luchasaurus to inflict more damage and he planted Serpentico with a Chokeslam on the floor. Cage then disrespectfully dusted off his boots in Serpentico’s face.

FTR & Danhausen Picked Up A Victory

Gunn Club and Max Caster battled Danhausen and FTR tonight in a Trios match. Cash Wheeler and Austin Gunn started off the match. Austin tripped Cash up but Wheeler responded with a Back Body Drop. Cash followed it up with an Atomic Drop and an Armdrag. Dax Harwood tagged in and bounced Austin’s face off the top turnbucke.

Harwood connected with a Suplex and tagged in Danhausen. He hit a running Elbow Drop for a two count. Colten Gunn tagged in and beat Danhausen down in the corner. The crowd chanted Danhausen as he battled back with a Hurricanrana. Danhausen followed it up with a couple Armdrags before turning around into a Clothesline from Austin Gunn as Dynamite went to a commercial break.

When Dynamite returned, Danhausen hit a Northern Lights Suplex but turned around into another Clothesline from Austin. Gunn went for a Suplex but Danhausen escaped and tagged in Harwood. Dax hit a bunch of punches and Cash joined the party. FTR planted Gunn Club with three German Suplexes in a row. Wheeler hit Austin with a Crossbody as Harwood hit three more German Suplexes on Colten.

Gunn hit Dax with an awkward Neckbreaker and both wrestlers fell to the mat. Danhausen tagged in and delivered a pump kick to Colten’s face. Anthony Bowens emerged from the wheel chair with a crutch. He accidentally hit Colten in the face as Danhausen ducked. FTR dragged Bowens out of the ring and Danhausen pinned Colten for the victory. Gunn Club and The Acclaimed argued after the match. Billy Gunn shoved Colten down and the Gunn Club exited without their dad.

Jade Cargill Is 34-0 & Still The TBS Champion

Jade Cargill defended the TBS Championship against Leila Grey tonight. Stokely Hathaway and Kiera Hogan accompanied Jade to the ring. Cargill and Grey locked up to start off the action. Jade got in some knee strikes and then a slam. Cargill hit a Splash in the corner and followed it up with a Fallaway Slam. Cargill kipped up with ease and stared at Grey as she crawled across the canvas.

The champ delivered an uppercut before taking a break to taunt the crowd. That backfired as Grey rolled her up for a two count before getting in some knee strikes in the corner. Grey went for a Bulldog but Jade blocked it and hurled the challenger across the ring. Cargill hit the pump kick and then Jaded for the pinfall victory. Jade Cargill remains undefeated and is still the TBS Champion.

After the match, Stokely Hathaway accused Athena and Kris Statlander of being lazy. They rushed the ring and battled with Cargill and Hogan. Statlander and Athena isolated Cargill but then Grey broke it up. Jade and Kiera then beat Statlander down and rolled Athena out of the ring. Cargill and Leila Grey then argued to end the segment. So, it is unknown if Grey is a part of “The Baddies” or not.

Claudio Castagnoli and Sammy Guevara started off the match. Castagnoli hit Sammy with a series of uppercuts and posed for the crowd. Sammy responded with a chop and Claudio no sold it. Claudio hammed Sammy with some more uppercuts and a chop to the chest. Guevara retreated to the other ring but Claudio caught up to him. Guevara climbed up the cage and Claudio followed him.

Guevara started hopping on the ropes and gave Claudio the middle finger. Claudio hit him with another uppercut but Sammy responded with a Cutter as Tay Conti cheered him on. Sammy even got out of the ring to give Tay a kiss through the cage. Claudio got up and tackled Sammy. He went for the Swing but Daniel Garcia entered the match next. Garcia stomped on Cesaro in the corner of the ring as Dynamite went to a commercial break.

When Dynamite returned. Garcia and Sammy were in control. Wheeler Yuta then entered and hit Sammy with a Crossbody. Yuta delivered a Nothern Lights Suplex and three German Suplexes to Daniel Garcia. Wheeler then did the same to Sammy and Claudio caught him with another uppercut. Jake Hager entered the match as Claudio launched Garcia across the ring.

Claudio and Jake Hager had a “we the people!” reunion and had a stare down in the middle of the ring as the crowd erupted. Claudio leveled Hager with a corkscrew uppercut and beat him down in the corner. JAS had the advantage and the numbers game caught up to Claudio as they beat him and Wheeler down.

Interim AEW Champion Jon Moxley entered the match and brought a steel chair into the ring. Jon launched the chair at Hager before sending Sammy flying across the ring. Moxley clubbed Garcia across the face as Blackpool Combat Club took back control of the match. Jon raked Garcia’s face across the steel and unloaded some punches. Claudio beat Sammy down in front of Tay Conti as Daniel Garcia was busted open.

Moxley held up Garcia and Wheeler caught him with a lariat. Claudio lifted Sammy up and Jon dropped him with a Cutter. Wheeler followed it up with a Splash on Guevara and some elbow strikes. Claudio and Moxley started reigning down elbow strikes as well as Cool Hand Ang (Angelo Parker) entered the match.

Parker tried to run away but Blackpool Combat Club cornered him. Claudio caught Ang and planted him with a Gutwrench Suplex. Moxley, Yuta, and Claudio all took turns hitting Ang with uppercuts until he collapsed. Hager launched Claudio into the cage as Jericho Appreciation Society battled back. Jake then bashed Claudio’s ankle with a steel chair as Garcia leveled Wheeler with a Dropkick. Ortiz entered the match and started unloading Clotheslines. He must have hit about twenty of them before Dynamite went to a commercial break.

https://twitter.com/AEW/status/1542319548027772929?s=20&t=E7Pm90sfYeKzWRc6w5SvNg

JAS was in control when Dynamite returned and Moxley was busted open as well. Santana entered the match next and brought a table, and a barbed wire-wrapped baseball bat with him. Santana unloaded some chops and hit Daddy Magic with a Suplex. Parker sent Wheelr into the cage as Claudio unloaded a massive uppercut. Moxley started stabbing Daddy Magic with spokes before he hit Jon with a low blow.

https://twitter.com/AEW/status/1542321739153264646?s=20&t=E7Pm90sfYeKzWRc6w5SvNg

Chris Jericho entered the match with Floyd the baseball bat and quickly bashed Claudio over the shoulder with it. Ortiz planted Jericho with a DDT and shoved the baseball bat in his throat. Guevara planted Ortiz with a Cutter but got dropped with a Suplex from Yuta. Hager hit Yuta with a slam but Claudio showed off his power with a slam on Hager. Garcia slammed Claudio down but he hopped up and hit Daniel with a massive uppercut. The Wizard Chris Jericho hit a Codebreaker on Claudio and posed in the ring.

Eddie Kingston entered the match with a kendo stick and started bashing JAS with it. The crowd loudly chanted for Eddie as he bashed Jericho over the head with it over and over. Eddie pulled out a bottle of something but Hager leveled him with a forearm to the face. Conti shoved the bottle through cage and back to Jericho.

Eddie Kingston then Powerbombed Hager through a table as Claudio delivered an uppercut to Parker. Moxley and Yuta brought out the thumbtacks and poured them in the ring. Claudio ripped up the canvas to expose the wood under the ring. Moxley slammed Daddy Magic on the tacks as Dynamite went to a break.

Jericho sprayed Kingston in the face with a fire extinguisher when Dynamite returned. Tay Conti tried to interfere in the match but Ruby Soho rushed down the ramp to a pop from the crowd. Ruby and Tay battled backstage as Jericho climbed to the top of the cage. Eddie Kingston and Sammy Guevara followed. Kingston hit Jericho with the Backfist to the Future but Sammy attacked from behind.

https://twitter.com/AEW/status/1542324294734303232?s=20&t=E7Pm90sfYeKzWRc6w5SvNg

Eddie battled back and threw Sammy off the cage and through a couple of tables below. Eddie laughed like a maniac on top of the cage as the crowd erupted and Dynamite went to the final commercial break of the night.

https://twitter.com/AEW/status/1542325496465264641?s=20&t=E7Pm90sfYeKzWRc6w5SvNg

Back from the break, Jericho applied the Walls of Jericho on Kingston on top of the cage. Claudi climbed to the top of the cage and delivered a running kick to Jericho’s face. Claudio hit Jericho with the Swing before Daddy Magic broke it up. Claudio then got Magic in a Sharshooter as Kingston got Jericho in a submission hold. Daddy Magic tapped out to end the match.

Eddie was pissed because Jericho tapped out moments later and he didn’t get the credit. Kingston and Claudio argued before the rest of Blackpool Combat Club joined them on top of the cage, besides Santana as he may have been injured during the match. Kingston and Claudio appeared to bury the hatchet for the moment and they all celebrated on top of the cage to end Blood and Guts to an awesome crowd reaction to close the show.

WWE Money in the Bank 2022 Predictions

WWE presents Money in the Bank this Saturday live on pay-per-view from Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

SEScoops correspondents Andrew Ravens, Jaycele Nicole and Tyriece Simon have gotten together to provide our official WWE Money in the Bank predictions.

Check back Saturday for our live coverage and post-PPV reaction video.

Plus:

Here are our WWE MITB 2022 Predictions:

United States Champion Theory vs. Bobby Lashley

Jaychele Nicole: Like I predicted at Hell In A Cell, I’m going with Theory again. The people in WWE really seem to get behind Theory and really see something in him. Bobby Lashley seems to be a pretty good matchup for him. However, as we move toward SummerSlam, it’s more and more obvious that Theory will likely be facing John Cena at the ‘Biggest Party Of The Summer.’ I can’t see a scenario where Theory loses to Lashley leading up to this huge, career-making matchup with one of WWE’s biggest stars of all time. (Prediction: Theory)

Andrew Ravens: I still think Theory will wrestle Cena at SummerSlam and although the story could be Cena going after the title, the feud doesn’t need it. In fact, if the title is on the line then it makes it even more clear that Cena won’t be beating Theory. Lashley has been pushed strong once again and a run as the US Champion will keep him away from Roman Reigns. If WWE does do the Theory vs. Cena match then they got to keep Theory somewhat strong enough to face Cena so Lashley can’t destroy him. (Prediction: Bobby Lashley)

Tyriece Simon: This match is difficult to call because I can see how either Theory or Bobby Lashley can win. The champion has been teasing a match with John Cena, and I can see WWE adding Theory vs. Cena at Summerslam. However, Lashley has received good reactions and could be a strong babyface to hold the United States Championship. WWE doesn’t have a male mid-card babyface champion right now, so Lashley could fill that void. I also don’t think you need Theory to be champion to face Cena at Summerslam if that is what WWE wants to happen. Theory will likely retain, but I’ll say Lashley becomes your new champion. (Prediction: Bobby Lashley

Consensus: Bobby Lashley

Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair vs. Carmella

Andrew Ravens: I understand why WWE put Carmella in this spot as they need someone for Belair to beat and Carmella had been out of the mix for a little while. It should be a fine match with Belair going over. (Prediction: Bianca Belair)

Jaychele Nicole: Without a doubt, I think this is Bianca Belair’s match. 100%. It’s ironic how around this time last year Bianca was in a championship match with Carmella as well, except it was for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. As this is a last minute replacement since Rhea Ripley was supposed to face Bianca for the Raw Women’s Championship at SummerSlam, I can’t see Carmella winning the belt. Carmella was also the most unlikely winner in the Raw contender’s five-way, so I can’t see her dethroning Bianca. This is mostly because of Bianca’s momentum and her current star power. (Prediction: Bianca Belair)

Tyriece Simon: I think Belair gets the clean win against Carmella. The champion was supposed to face Rhea Ripley, so I don’t see her losing the title at Money in the Bank. (Prediction: Bianca Belair)

Consensus: Bianca Belair

Undisputed Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. The Street Profits

Tyriece Simon: I have the Usos retaining the titles at Money in the Bank, but I can see the feud extending to Summerslam. The Champions still have momentum, and I don’t see the Bloodline faction losing their titles anytime soon. It should be a great match, and I’m looking carefully at how Montez Ford performs in the match. I can also see WWE possibly breaking up the Street Profits and making Ford a singles star soon. (Prediction: The Usos)

Andrew Ravens: And we’re back to this feud once again. It will be a really good match and while I can understand the argument as to why there should be a title change, I don’t think it will happen. The Usos will lose the titles shortly before Roman Reigns does and that’s not happening anytime soon. (Prediction: The Usos)

Jaychele Nicole: As much as I wish that The Street Profits were winning, this is The Usos match. I don’t see anything changing with the structure of The Bloodline. I would be interested to see the spiral of Roman and The Bloodline if The Usos were to lose the titles here. I think that the match will be good, and I believe that The Street Profits, specifically Montez Ford, are overdue for some gold. I’m hopeful that their time is coming soon, but I don’t think it’s happening at Money In The Bank, at least this year’s show anyway that is. (Prediction: The Usos)

Consensus: The Usos

Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Andrew Ravens: I’m taking Seth Rollins here. Drew McIntyre previously called out Roman Reigns for Clash at the Castle and I don’t see them making the match official in advance with McIntyre being the MITB holder. Also, WWE likes surprise cash-ins so that eliminates McIntyre in my mind. Rollins should go over. He lost three straight times to Cody Rhodes and really needs to be built up again. (Prediction: Seth Rollins)

Jaychele Nicole: I am pretty torn on this match. Right now, my top two predictions would be Seth Rollins or Drew McIntyre. I’m truly hoping for another Seth run with the briefcase because of how much I enjoyed his last reign with the belt. I think that Seth’s recent character would be able to turn his run with the briefcase into something super entertaining. At the same time, I don’t think you can ever count out Drew and his unpredictability in these big matches. I am also possibly very fearful that the WWE might just pull a fast one on all fans and give the contract to Omos. I really hope this isn’t the case, but I wouldn’t put it past the company. (Prediction: Seth Rollins)

Tyriece Simon: Seth Rollins is the best option to win this match. He’s possibly having the best run of his WWE career, and giving him the Money in the Bank briefcase would only improve his character. I also think that Rollins holding the briefcase and winning a WWE Championship could set up a perfect story for Cody Rhodes’s return feud. (Prediction: Seth Rollins)

Consensus: Seth “Freakin” Rollins

SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Natalya

Jaychele Nicole: Like Bianca, I think this is Ronda’s match as well. Natalya has been incredibly entertaining in this feud, especially knowing how close the two are behind the scenes. I’m not sure if this match will be good, but I’m sure that Nattie will do or say a few things that will get a pop out of me. (Prediction: Ronda Rousey)

Andrew Ravens: Although no one sees Natalya as a real threat to Rousey, credit to WWE for at least making this feud interesting. Rousey should go over and will do so, but it will be interesting to see who they can build up next for Rousey at SummerSlam. (Prediction: Ronda Rousey)

Tyriece Simon: I have Rousey retaining the Smackdown Women’s Championship. This seems like a short feud to have Rousey on the card and defend her title. It should be an interesting technical match. Natalya is a great opponent for Rousey to work with, and I think she’ll have a good showing. I think ultimately, Rousey gets Natalya in the armbar and moves on from this rivalry. (Prediction: Ronda Rousey)

Consensus: Ronda Rousey

Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Andrew Ravens: I would like to see Raquel win here, but I don’t think it will happen. Two names make the most sense to me and that’s Asuka and Alexa Bliss. I’ll slightly side with Bliss here as she’s been strongly pushed since coming back and a few more months of build will help cap off her surprise cash-in. (Prediction: Alexa Bliss)

Tyriece Simon: This match is interesting to predict because I can see two viable winners. Becky Lynch and Lacey Evans have the best chances of winning the briefcase. Lynch’s character has been on a downward spiral since losing to Bianca Belair, and it would make sense to give her the briefcase to get her swagger back. However, I can see a scenario where she gets close but loses. WWE is trying to build up Lacey Evans, and It’s an excellent opportunity to make a new contender for the Women’s championship for either Smackdown or Raw. I can see Lynch winning the match, but I lean more toward WWE giving Evans the win. (Prediction: Lacey Evans)

Jaychele Nicole: I also have two favorites to win this match. I’ve heard a few people predict that Raquel Rodriguez will be winning, but I really hope that doesn’t happen. I’m hoping that either Liv Morgan or Alexa Bliss win this year’s Women’s Money In The Bank. I’m very hopeful that this year’s Women’s Money In The Bank winner will hold the briefcase for longer than a few hours or one day like may have previously. I’m hoping that this year is Liv Morgan’s year. She’s gaining so much momentum that I really believe it’s her time, but at the same time, I said the same thing last year. (Prediction: Liv Morgan)

Consensus: Split

Kenny Omega Says He’s “Done” If He Suffers Another Major Injury

Kenny Omega pushed through the pain for several months last year while AEW World Heavyweight Champion as he helped the company as its top star and delivered great matches.

However, it took a toll on him physically and he decided to take time off to get those injuries fixed.

During a recent Twitch stream, Omega stated that if he suffers another major setback in his career due to an injury then he will be done as an in-ring wrestler because he doesn’t want to go through the painful rehab he has been experiencing.

“No, look. If I get another major setback, that’s it I’m done. I can’t do this ever again. It’s like two or three times a day of really painful rehab. And without even knowing what it’s going to be like when I get back in the ring. I have no clue. It’s scary actually.”

Kenny Omega Update: Injury, Surgery & Return

Kenny Omega’s In-Ring Future

Omega’s last match came at Full Gear on November 13, 2021, when he dropped the AEW World Championship to “Hangman” Adam Page. Omega had several injuries he needed to be fixed including having arthroscopic knee surgery. He also got surgery to repair a sports hernia at the end of March.

At the time, it was reported the recovery from knee surgery was ten weeks while recovering from the hernia surgery was about two months.

Omega did go back on the road with AEW to be at TV events, but Omega found it was too early in the healing process to travel with his injuries.

Wardlow Happy in AEW, but “Never Say Never” About a Future in WWE

Wardlow says he’s “very, very happy” with AEW, but he hasn’t closed the door on working for WWE one day.

The 34-year-old fighter from Middlefield, Ohio has made quite a name for himself in AEW. After a years-long storyline as MJF’s hired gun, Wardlow is finally doing things on his own terms.

Wardlow been racking up win and after win. With a record of 14-2 this year, Wardlow now has his sights on Scorpio Sky’s TNT Championship.

Wardlow Addresses WWE

Wardlow took part in a virtual autograph signing for K&S WrestleFest and addressed the possibility of jumping to WWE one day:

“I’m very very happy where I am. I never say never about anything in life, but as of right now, I’m very happy where I am.”

– Wardlow

It would be foolish for Wardlow to say he’d never join WWE, because you never know what the future holds. However, he really does seem happy working for Tony Khan.

Last month, Wardlow appeared on the Superstar Crossover podcast and said even he can’t believe how well his AEW run is going.

“I think even this is exceeding my expectations,” he said. “I couldn’t have wrote myself a better future than what I’m currently living. Or I guess I should say I couldn’t have wrote a better reality for what I’m currently living. I wouldn’t change a single thing that has happened or a single thing that is happening right now.”

Wardlow a success story for AEW, in terms of homegrown talent. His slow-burn storyline with MJF paid off and fans have gotten behind him in a big way.

With his size, agility and charisma, it should as no surprise that WWE is already interested in Wardlow.

Title Match Added to Tonight’s ‘Blood & Guts’ AEW Dynamite

An AEW championship match has been added to tonight’s (June 29) Dynamite card.

Dynamite will emanate from Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The main attraction of this show will be the big Blood & Guts match involving members of the Blackpool Combat Club and the Jericho Appreciation society.

Eddie Kingston and Santana & Ortiz will also be involved in the match.

That isn’t all for tonight’s episode, however. We’ve also got a title match to look forward to.

TBS Championship at Stake

TBS Champion Jade Cargill demanded an open challenge for her gold and that’s exactly what she will get. Leila Grey has stepped up to the plate to challenge Cargill.

Going into this title match, Jade has an unbeaten record in AEW of 33-0.

Also featured on the show will be a one-on-one match between Orange Cassidy and Ethan Page of Men of the Year. OC is fresh off a thrilling match with Will Ospreay at Forbidden Door and even though he lost, Cassidy is riding a wave of momentum following his efforts.

We will also hear from Christian Cage just one week after cutting a promo where he mentioned the death of Jungle Boy’s father and seemingly manipulated Luchasaurus.

Stick with us on the SEScoops homepage as we’ll be bringing you live coverage of AEW Dynamite.

Claudio Castagnoli’s Journey to AEW Paved on Respect

When Bryan Danielson teased a replacement for Forbidden Door, there were a handful of names thrown around. Though at the top of the list for many fans was who emerged from the tunnel on the pay-per-view before a red hot Chicago crowd at the United Center. It was Claudio Castagnoli, the former WWE superstar Cesaro, who walked to the ring with a hero’s welcome.

Social media was abuzz watching this goosebump-inducing moment. Tweets flooded timelines from not only fans but those in the business across company lines. The universally positive reaction was indicative of the man himself, who built an impressive body of work and garnered much-deserved respect in the process.

I remember meeting Castagnoli in 2012 at an FCW-NXT show in Miami when the WWE developmental brand held shows as part of the local fair there. The outdoor atmosphere provided a fun and festive atmosphere for young and emerging talent to work in front of a unique crowd. Hours before showtime, interviews were set up for me. Stephen Keirn, who was a large part of the brand at the time, and other PR folks would decide based on who had the biggest upside. Naturally, a Jason Statham-looking doppelganger was among them. The impressive Swiss superstar honed his skills working all over the world and earned a name for himself in Ring of Honor.

He couldn’t have been more professional, expressing his goals set out working for WWE. Fast forward to a few weeks later when Cesario would get the call-up. I could see a future world champion in the making. The latest addition to the main roster went through it all starting with a love interest in Aksana. Cesaro began collecting gold along the way including a lengthy United States championship reign.

He’d return to NXT for an acclaimed feud against Sami Zayn where the two tore the house down at NXT TakeOver: ArRIVAL. It helped set the tone for what audiences would come to expect from these events. Then there was his time in The Real Americans, the Andre the Giant Battle Royal win at WrestleMania, being chosen as a “Paul Heyman Guy,” and an amazing tag title run with Tyson Kidd. And who could forget how he answered that open challenge against John Cena.

The Cesaro section continue to grow, but Vince McMahon wasn’t completely sold. The Chairman told “Stone Cold” Steve Austin during a WWE Network interview that he felt Cesaro basically wasn’t grabbing that brass ring. Rather than complaining about the comments, he used it as fuel to continue on putting in the work and turning heads with stellar matches. The fan favorite was randomly paired alongside Sheamus, which turned into one of the most celebrated and successful tag teams of the era. They were certainly raised The Bar.

Throughout the years there were points viewers thought Cesaro was finally going to swing into the upper echelon of WWE. There were so many starts and stops, but there was always the hope there would be followthrough. The most example was the win over Seith Rollins at WrestleMania 37 leading into the main event against Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania Backlash. WWE never pulled the trigger, and Cesaro had clearly reached the ceiling there with no signs that would change any time soon.

Through the ups and downs, the one constant for Cesaro was being that reliable workhorse. Someone who could make everyone better by just sharing the ring with him. One of those few talents you won’t hear anyone say a bad word about. And in speaking to him from that one day at the fair more than 10 years ago and a few other times during his WWE journey, I can say Castagnoli has always kept that fire to compete and deliver with the lights on bright.

Enter All Elite Wrestling where Castagnoli tests his skills with new challenges and some familiar ones. If Forbidden Door and that banger against Zack Sabre Jr. is any indication, the newest member of the Blackpool Combat Club will fit in just fine. And dare I say just getting started.

Former AEW Champion Thinks TNT Title Has Gone to “Sh*ts”

One AEW star is not impressed by the TNT Championship reigns these days.

The current titleholder is Scorpio Sky. Sky defeated Sammy Guevara to capture the gold but he’s dealing with a knee injury that he hopes isn’t too serious.

Many have criticized AEW’s booking of the TNT Championship ever since Miro’s reign ended. While Miro seemingly helped elevate the title, the championship really hasn’t been treated with prestige since.

Miro Goes Off on TNT Title

During an interview with WhatCulture, Miro slammed the direction the TNT Title has gone in since he lost it last year.

“When I hang onto something, it’s mine and unfortunately, the Sammy Guevara thing came in, he landed on my balls, let’s not forget about that. The finish [of our TNT Title match], he did the four-70,000-do-whatever-the-thing is. I was preparing to protect myself, he landed right on my balls and you can’t kick out of that, nobody can.

“So I don’t even take fault of that but I take fault — I take a fault of maybe being too good of a champion because ever since I lost that title, that title has gone to s**ts and that’s nothing but to blame Sammy Guevara for that, so he’s got to bear the cross for that.”

The former TNT Champion recently competed in a four-way match for the All-Atlantic Championship at Forbidden Door. PAC ended up winning that match to become the inaugural titleholder.

What’s next for Miro remains to be seen but it’s possible he could have a bone to pick with Malakai Black. Miro had PAC in the Game Over submission at Forbidden Door before Malakai entered the ring and sprayed him with mist.

Shayna Baszler ‘Frustrated’ By Criticism Ronda Rousey Receives

Shayna Baszler is “frustrated” by the criticism her friend and WWE SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey receives.

Rousey officially made her WWE debut in 2018, joining WWE full-time as a competitor. She has since gone on to win both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Titles once each, the latter of which she still holds.

While Rousey has certainly done some impressive things since making the jump from mixed martial arts (MMA) to professional wrestling, she isn’t without her critics.

Whether it’s her in ring work, promos, or the way she ended her MMA career, there’s always a group of people who have something negative to say about “The Rowdy One,” and as Shayna Baslzer explains on “Out Of Character” with Ryan Satin, it frustrates her.

“Here’s the thing, I know Ronda enough to know that she does not spend her time on social media. Anytime she comments is because someone has said, ‘Hey, Ronda, you should comment on this,’ which isn’t often because she’ll still be like, ‘Why? Who cares?’ I get frustrated when – it’s a little more selfish than that. I get frustrated if I ever were to speak out.”

Rousey and Baszler are great friends, having competed together in the UFC for several years. Both women now have homes in WWE, although a singles title run on the main roster has eluded Baszler thus far.

She is a two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion as well as a former NXT Women’s Champion. As for Rousey, she’s slated to put her SmackDown Women’s Title up for grabs against Natalya at the upcoming Money In The Bank premium live event.
