NXT star Sami Zayn made his singles debut on Monday’s RAW, answering John Cena’s US Title Open Challenge but coming up short in an exciting and competitive match. Zayn injured his shoulder prior to the match while standing on the ring steps and waving his warms to get the crowd hyped.
Zayn, who was out of action with a shoulder injury in March and April, is believed to have injured his rotator cuff on RAW. There’s no confirmation yet if he tore it, but WWE should post an update soon.
Zayn is scheduled to challenge WWE NXT champion Kevin Owens at the next NXT Takeover special on May 20th.
