On Tuesday night, ESPN hosted its 4th annual Sports Humanitarian Awards in Los Angeles. The event is “a celebration of the impact made by athletes, teams and sports industry professionals who use the power of sport to make a difference throughout the world.”
WWE personalities Stephanie McMahon, Roman Reigns and Charlotte Flair were to accept the award for League Humanitarian Leadership.
2-division UFC Champion Daniel Cormier was also in attendance and had some interesting things to say about Hulk Hogan and Seth Rollins. When asked about the news of WWE ending Hulk Hogan’s 3-year suspension. Cormier, a big WWE fan, called Hogan one of the greatest performers of all time and is willing to accept that Hogan is remorseful for his racist comments.
“People do make mistakes,” said Cormier. “I think if we know anything from the WWE, the UFC, NFL, any sport, if you are willing to learn from your mistakes, you get another opportunity. So, congratulations.”
Daniel Cormier is expected to defend the UFC Heavyweight Championship against Brock Lesnar in early 2019.
When asked if there is anyone he is pulling to defeat Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship, Cormier joked, “Maybe I’ll beat Brock for the Universal title.”
